President Hakainde Hichilema has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to development and infrastructure enhancement in Rufunsa district.
Addressing Rufunsa residents during a community engagement, the President assured the people of continued progress through the establishment of essential facilities such as deep water tanks, dams, police posts and improved network connectivity.
President Hichilema emphasised that the United Party for National Development (UPND) administration is dedicated to fostering a policy-driven government that prioritises sustainable development.
The President highlighted plans to construct deep tanks and dams aimed at boosting agricultural productivity and ensuring water security for local communities.
He also announced intentions to establish more police posts within the district to enhance safety and law enforcement.
“The government’s focus is on creating a conducive environment for growth and stability. We are committed to bringing more infrastructure, including reliable water sources and police posts, to serve the needs of Rufunsa’s residents,” President Hichilema stated.
The Head of State also reassured the people of Rufunsa of his administration’s dedication to job creation and welfare, citing the recent announcement of 2,600 health staff to be deployed nationwide, he assured that employment opportunities would continue to be a priority.
Mr Hichilema highlighted the importance of network connectivity, which he acknowledged remains a challenge in some parts of the district.
The President pledged to address this issue to facilitate communication for the people of Rufunsa.
Mr Hichilema reaffirmed his government’s commitment to free education, emphasising that it is now signed as a law for the benefit of Zambia’s future generations.
He further urged residents to exercise wisdom during the upcoming elections, advising them not to be swayed by influence or impulse but to vote for leaders who will continue the country’s development trajectory.
Before departing to Chongwe district for another community engagement, President Hichilema reiterated that his government’s efforts have helped to restructure Zambia’s national debt, ensuring economic stability and growth.
He urged the people of Rufunsa to remain hopeful and supportive of the government’s developmental agenda.
