Muchinga ECZ staff undergo training

Muchinga Province Electoral Officer Moffat Mwandila says the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) remains confident to deliver the August 13th general election, in a highly professional manner.

‎Speaking when he officially opened Phase One of the  ECZ training which has seen 130 ECZ Staff from Chinsali, Isoka, Nakonde and Mafinga districts taking part in the training, Mr Mwandila said ECZ  depends on District Election Trainers (DETs) and other ECZ staff to transfer knowledge to frontline poll staff.

‎Mr Mwandila said the quality of performance among the poll staff on election day depends on how well the officers will be trained.

‎”A minor error during training can translate into a major error on poll day, therefore you must diligently guard the integrity of Electoral Commission of Zambia and the electoral process,” he said

‎Mr Mwandila further urged all ECZ staff to execute duties with absolute unwavering political neutrality.

‎Mr Mwandila has also cautioned the District Election Trainers and other ECZ staff to emphasise on impartiality and non-partisanship as they train election staff in their respective districts ahead of the August 13th General election.

‎”I would like to emphasise that transparent and credible elections is only possible when every officer fully understands their role,” he said

‎And speaking on the sidelines of the training, Chinsali District Election Trainer Matildah Chitina said the knowledge from the training will enable them to equip poll staff with the required information to deliver credible elections.
