Civil servants advised to diligently implement government programmes

Vice President Mutale Nalumango has called on civil servants to implement government programmes with integrity, professionalism and accountability.

Addressing public officers during a meeting in Nakonde, Mrs Nalumango said the success of any administration rests on the commitment and discipline of the public service.

She urged them to acquaint themselves with the policies of the sitting government, maintain high professional standards, and ensure accountability in the delivery of services.

The Vice President explained that citizens look up to public officers to drive development and encouraged them to execute their duties with dedication for the advancement of the nation.

She further stated that no government can realise its objectives without the support from a diligent and professional civil service.

And Muchinga Province Permanent Secretary, Tuesday Bwalya, advised public officers to remain non-partisan in the discharge of their duties.

Dr Bwalya stated that civil servants are obligated to serve the government of the day with neutrality and diligence.

Earlier in the day, Mrs. Nalumango paid a courtesy call on senior chieftainess Waitwika at her palace.
