    • @Katondo Boys aka Emmanuel Mwamba, you have stiff competition for the Matero adoption. Don’t forget Dickson Jere is backed by PF president Rupiah Banda

    • What is that peace of Mwamba thinking? why not go to his village? from ambassador to MP, is even working there. only what we his pictures from his own camera.

  1. Someone with clear knowledge of the law educate me on this one:
    1. if he is picked by PF to contest, does he continue to serve as high commissioner in SA?
    2. If he is picked he will need to be in matero for campaigns, what happens to his office in SA?
    3. If he has to resign, does the president have enough time to appoint his replacement before elections? Or it is does not matter much because the office can remain vacant for a long period?
    4. If the office can be vacant for a long period, what is the relevance of it, apart from being Zambia’s official link to the SA government?

    • A replacement is dispatched immediately, or the deputy handles all duties until a time the president appoints his replacement.

    • The real question, does the new constitution allow a civil servant to contest an MP election? As far as i understand it the is a cooling period of 2 years.

Many of these elections will be petitioned

  2. There it is everyone…all those photo opps of Mwamba in RSA were leading to this moment. Its no wonder he didnt want to posted to Malaysia.

    • You were correct on this one Jay Jay. See we agree on good points, but I still oppose you when you get carried away. If only other bloggers could emulate our commenting exchanges.

  3. Civil servants are not supposed to engage in active politics. If he has applied to contest on a party ticket it simply means he is engaging in active politics and by law ECL should fire him.

  4. Mwamba is an asset! Like it or not, these are people you need on your side . he is too dangerous to have on the other side.

HH is sweating now. 🙁 kekekekelekekekeke.

    Chiibe pakapaka.

  5. He has only applied, and that will be assessed in due course with regards to its legitimacy.

He would make a very popular candidate if picked.

  6. ..I wonder why the system is upside down…the first thing should have been ECL to choose his running mate…..then the rest to scramble for MP positions…how do they know maybe thee are the potential running mates….the VEEP may not apply for Nalolo and yet not picked as a running mate she will lose out..
