Nkana, Power, GBFC out to maintain perfect start

Nkana, Power Dynamos, Green Buffaloes, Lusaka Dynamos and Lusaka Tigers play their respective Week 2 matches of the Super Division with the hope of maintaining a perfect start to the new season.

The quadruple share the early lead in the league after winning their respective openers a fortnight ago.

Power defeated Napa Stars 2-1 in Kitwe with their town rivals Nkana stealing an identical victory at Nkwazi and while Tigers overcame Nchanga Rangers 1-0 in Lusaka.

Buffaloes recorded a rare 1-0 win at Green Eagles in Choma and Lusaka Dynamos beat Mufulira Blackpool 1-0 on the Copperbelt.

As the league enters day two, Nkana are hosting tricky Green Eagles on Saturday at Nkana Stadium in Wusakile.

Eagles led by charismatic coach Justin Chinama are expected to test Nkana’s resolve to challenge for the league title.

Nkana’s Kitwe rivals Power Dynamos are travelling to Chingola to face limping Nchanga Rangers at Nchanga Stadium.

Power are favourites to win at Nchanga who have just re-engaged Bruce Mwape as head coach.

In other games on Saturday, promoted Lumwana Radiants are finally launching their delayed maiden Super Division campaign with a home game against Red Arrows at Lumwana Grounds.

Lumwana’s Week 1 tie against Zesco United was postponed owing to the latter’s commitment in the CAF Champions League on day one of the Super Division.

Mufulira Wanderers are hosting Nkwazi at Shinde Stadium in Kantanshi.

Wanderers drew their first game goalless at Forest Rangers.
