Man arrested for stabbing wife with a knife to death

POLICE in Ndola have arrested a 47 year old man of Old Twapia in Ndola for allegedly stabbing his wife with a knife to death following a marital dispute.

Copperbelt province commissioner of police Charity Katanga confirmed the incident which occurred on Friday around 20.00 hours at house number 5 in Ndola’s old Twapia.

Ms Katanga identified the deceased as Mercy Bwalya,35, while the suspect is Augustine Chisenga.

She said Ms Bwalya sustained deep cuts on her back and chest and that her body is currently lying in the Ndola Central hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem.

“There is an incident of murder in Twapia where a woman was allegedly stabbed with a knife to death by her husband after they quarreled over an unknown reasons.The suspect is currently in custody,” Ms Katanga said.

Ms Katanga said Chisenga has been charged with murder and he will appear in court soon
