President Edgar Lungu this morning made a surprise appearance on unscheduled interview on state run ZNBC TV where he dispelled reports that he has fallen ill.
Social media has been rife with reports that President Lungu is unwell and has been forced to take a break from a gruesome campaign schedule.
Until this morning’s appearance on ZNBC TV1, President Lungu was last seen in public last Sunday when he attended a Church service at UCZ’s Kabundi congregation in Chingola.
He toured the Mass Media complex where he interacted with staff after conducting a wide ranging interview with ZNBC’s Franklin Tembo.
Below is a verbatim version of the interview.
Franklin Tembo Jr–Your Excellency, straight to it. You have been busy, we saw you at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium and before that you filled up the Heroes Stadium, just how are the preparations going?
We are on course to stand with we are under a new constitution for us in PF we are striving we get 40 percent youths and 40 percent women, all those ambitious projects are part of what we are implementing as I talk to you, we are tarrying to work out a pie chart to see how many women, how many women we have got.
The Secretary General is working on that and he will tell the nation but on the face of it, we haven’t scooped as many women as we wanted I think the challenges have been numerous for the womenfolk as you may be aware there so many challenges, resources apart from that the stereotypes and so many other things they have to grapple with.
So far so good, the launch in Lusaka went well, the Copperbelt one too also went well. Those two places are the heart and soul of Zambia. So we have sat down now to see how we can trickle down to the provinces through the provincial headquarters and the districts and eventually to the wards, it’s a mammoth task.
Franklin Tembo Jr: I can imagine, and coming under a new set up so to speak where you have to sell yourself with a running mate, how is that coming off under the circumstances?
President Lungu: It has to be a complete package, you are not selling Edgar Lungu, you are not selling Madam Inonge Wina, you are selling a complete package, God forbid, if I had to pass on, your next President would be Madam Inonge Wina, similarly, it goes for the other political parties so we are packaging it together so you cannot isolate the President from the Vice President. So the values you espouse as President should trickle down to the Vice President because he or she is an integral part of the Office of the President.
So people should not take lightly the question of running mate. We had to think through the question of running mate as PF and we I think e we came out with the best package for the Presidency so far and I think it will determine how we get the 50+1 and how we get into State House because you cannot buy something which is not wholesome because you cannot buy something which is not wholesome. Ewe have a wholesome package in the presidency in PF and I think we have demonstrated in the last one and half years that we are a comprehensive lot and wholesome and we are equal to the task.
Franklin Tembo Jr: You have mentioned, you have reminded the nation what the PF has been able to do and what it intends to do you have produced the manifesto that you are supposed to take the programme forward, in a nutshell, what does it generally promise in as far as delivering an improved economy is concerned?
You see the basic issues are all outlined in the manifesto but to cut the long story short, it’s about individual Zambians prospering. Zambians want to have a good quality life and that cannot come about with a poor economy and getting the economy we have to diversity it from where it is now and that is mining.
People have sung about agriculture in the past but nothing much has been done and when copper prices picks up and everything gets better through copper mining, everybody forgets about other activities in the economy and we want to say the economy is bigger than mining so we are looking at agriculture, tourism, manufacturing, we are looking at whole sectors so to speak so that at the end of the day when one sector goes ailing like were with copper mining generally, we can survive on others and I think it’s a total package like I said.
So Zambia has learnt lessons in the last 50 years plus but nobody has taken these lesson seriously but since the last five years that we have been, we have seen what can be achieved and al, the things we promised are achievable and in the last five years we have done so much infrastructure development and people think it is lopsided, it is not lopsided, there are schools been done, clinics being done social sector is as much important as aspect of development as the economy, so we look at mankind as a whole, we look at a human being as a total package as I said.
One needs to go to school, one needs water, one needs decent living quarters, one needs to take his children to school, so basically these are the messages will be taking to the people, will show them where we started from in 2011 and were we are today and where we are forward.
Franklin Tembo Jr: And what’s the picture? What responsibility does the media have in this whole thing?
Laughs! Social media. I don’t know really, it’s the editorial policy that determine where one is relevant or not. Look at how some media houses come up with horrible stories, unfounded allegations, slander, so on and so forth but at the end of the day it’s for the Zambian people really to decide which media to go along with. If you decide to make yourself yellow as a Journalist then in the end people will, like in said, I will not get a whip to crack any media house which is abusing its position, its role but at the end of the day, Zambians will do it for us, they will just shun you.
That is why we have opened up the air waves, so that people can have as many radio stations to listen to, as many print media to read and as many TV stations to tune to which radio station to tune in to at the end of the day, if you are irrelevant, you will be buried and that will be it. It won’t be me, I don’t want to stain my hands dealing with irresponsible media.
Franklin Tembo Jr: Could there be implications on the economy? On the outlook of the economy?
Off course off course there is. If you begin sending alarming statements and giving an impression that Zambia is at war for example, even tourists cannot come to Zambia. Tell me, very few countries can attract the number of tourists we are attracting with a few months before elections. We had some successful meetings, international conferences taking place in Lusaka, the IPU, the African Development Bank and so many gatherings of international character but it would not happen if people were not sure of their security but some media houses would send stories that Zambia is at war. Its irresponsibility, its unpatriotic for a Zambian to be the one to bring the house on firm as it were but I think Zambians are more mature to leave everything to the President to say let’s close this studio, lets close this radio station, it’s a cheap way, I don’t think I will go that cheap way. You will see how Zambians will vote in August enmasse.
Franklin Tembo Jr: Having mentioned that, what, how would you describe the environment we are in, this election period from where you sit, how do you, in relation to perhaps what happens in other countries, where are we as a nation?
Comparatively we are doing very well. I cannot say that political processes can be at this level devoid of violence or harsh words but comparatively we are doing very well. Skirmishes here and there are normal part of jostling for power but there is a level where we become intolerant as Government as say, look, we are not going to tolerate this, loss of lives for example, destruction of property, innocent people bring about break down of law and order but shadow boxing is allowed but immediately it gets to a level where we say it’s not acceptable, we move in.
Franklin Tembo Jr: Mr President, I know that in your position you’ve got to be thick skinned, how thick skinned are you?
These things you have to have it in you if you don’t then you can’t make it. I have made it because I am sufficiently thick skinned and I think some of the things I have taken in and withstood others wouldn’t take because there is a lot of powers where I sit but you know it is important to realise that you are just serving your fellow mankind and it is important take your responsibility seriously and where there is need to talk to people to tone down and if they don’t, find one whom they can listen to to talk to them.
I know everybody’s got somebody who they can listen to that No Mwayasana apa (you have gone too far), you know, you may look tough, you may be unapproachable, you must have a friend, all of us are prone to listening to one another and find you don’t listen to me I am sure somebody within the ZNBC family will talk to you and they know the right time to talk to you probably when you are in the right mood. So far so good, my nature is to listen more to what people want and analyse and agree with them if need be and if not, move on.
Franklin Tembo Jr: Right, and you have taken what many wouldn’t, there is social interactions through your Facebook page and you want to tell us about that, you want everybody get in touch with you?
Even that is a challenge because my day starts at 06 Hours and sometimes goes up to midnight or even past midnight and that is when I go to bed. All this in the quest to meet as many people as possible ordinary folks like you and everyone else so that we share because they matter a lot.
What you people think what you people give us is news but beyond this there is news and sometimes people would come from the townships and people from villages and so on. For me Facebook will give me us opportunity to interact with as many people as possible and be able to sound out some of their positions and that would deliver more effectively because I tell you that the institution of the Presidency is such that you cannot change it, it’s so rigid, there are so many procedures and protocols.
To get the president is not easy. Even yesterday I was with two colleagues, one a Minister and another one a former MP and I have booked them in for 12 Hours at lunch, I never saw them until 18 Hours and I was compelled to take them home for dinner because they couldn’t access me so it is very difficult to access the president as much as to say, look, let me see as much as possible but there are security considerations, there are these things party matters for example should be handled at the party offices but some would still prefer to come to State House instead of the secretariat and I have to show them that I have time for them as much as I am the Head of State and the mix is not easy but I think so far so good, this interaction on Facebook might help us achieve success over the trappings of office which come with the rigidity, protocols and so on.
Right now I tell you someone has come from the Copperbelt, I phoned him, he was still at the gate but he hasn’t been made to come in and I am here so by the time I get there, I even have forgotten but you know most Presidents who have been have promised Zambians that they will allow access to State House and I think it has been a genuine desire but until certain formalities change, security considerations also is important and the desire to serve the office as President is also important and the desire to serve the people as Party President is also important. So to mix all those is not easy from a physical presence of President at State House but on Facebook it will be easy.
Franklin Tembo Jr: Are you concerned, are you worried at all about winning these elections?
Oh, I was a novice last year but now I am more grounded. I think we are winning in a clean manner 50+1 at first attempt, that I can tell you because we have done our homework and we have been working and Zambians this time know that they can trust Edgar Lungu and his team.
Franklin Tembo Jr: And the party finally as we close, your message to those in support of your agenda, you don’t seem to be tired about for example, the need to preserve peace?
Without peace, without peace, what is there for us? You know we are striving to develop families, we are striving to develop the country and with ought peace, I can tell you there is nothing for us. I was arguing that the country can be destroyed with one mistake and it build it, it will take generations. The world has been at war, the World War First, the Second World War and both wars had destruction and at the end of the day people had to sit down and talk peace but why didn’t they talk peace before the war, so I urge Zambians to follow the path for peace, peace, peace is paramount everything else can be resolved.
If this is the way you look when you are unwell, how then do you look when you are not? In other words, there is this talk of you not being well, what message do you have to Zambians?
I don’t know who is unwell who is well, it’s a personal thing. All of us fall ill at one thing or another but for now I am not unwell, I am very well and I can tell you that I am enjoying the best of my health. We have a Clinic at State House and if I am not too well, they can recommend that I go to UTH or Maina Soko where I have been but I am very well and if need be then they will take me elsewhere but don’t know where this is coming from that I am not well and the First Lady will tell you that I am well, (Laughs).
Franklin Tembo Jr: So where to from here?
Now that we have done our ground work, we will visit provincial Headquarters and do our campaigns and as soon as we are done, we will begin getting to the districts so that all our MPs, our Councillors joining the party campaign, it’s a very exciting time.
Franklin Tembo Jr (It is exciting), Your Excellency, thank you very much for your time.
President Lungu: Thank you so much for hosting us, I was just passing through because I understand that you wanted to come to State House.
Only a naive person thinks that the opposition can win this year’s election
BA LUNGU KUYA BEBELE MU AUGUST! ALEYA MU AUGUST!
Lungu, Kolopa again!
How did one who was debarred for stealing money from a widow, not known for doing any business as Edgar Lungu make K10 million in 14 months?
Bauze!!
the same was said in 2011 and 1991,the rest is history.
What GOOOOOOOOOBBLLE DEEEEEEEEEEGOOGK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just a MERE, send s this Kaponya in panic mode, rushes to ZNBC to parade oneself – HE STILL HAS TO TELLS WHETHER HE HAS PAID HIS TAXES!!!!!! ZRA has this kaponya PAID INTO THE TREASURY FOR ALL ASSETS DECLARED???????
THE WHOLE PURPOSE OF DECLARING ASSETS IS SUCH THAT THE TREASURY THROUGH ZRA CAN VERIFY THAT A CANDIDATE IS UP TO DATE WITH HIS TAXES!!!!! OTHERWISE THERE IS COMPLETELY NO POINT IN MAKING IT MANDATORY FOR CANDIDATES TO DECLARE ASSETS – IT WOULD FALL INTO THE REALM OF PRIVACY, except FOR THIS SOLE PURPOSE – OF VERIFICATION OF TAX ADHERENCE!!!!
Trying to pay one’s dues after the REGISTRATION DATE – IS A NONE STARTER – ECZ & ZRA NEED TO INFORM THE NATION ASAP becoz the LONGER THEY TAKE, the greater DISSERVICE THEY DO…
……the greater DISSERVICE THEY DO TO ALL – MOSTLY WASTING VOTERS TIME & EFFORT!!
WE WILL PURSUE THIS ONE WHETHER ECZ OR ZRA LIKE IT OR NOT!!
Vote WISELY 11/8/2016!! VOTE ZAMBIA FORWARD!! VOTE UPND!! VOTE FOR A UNITED ZAMBIA!!
Abantu baya!!
#Chagwamustfall #PamaFikuyabebele!!
I thank you!!
” Just a MERE RUMOUR, sends this Kaponya into panic….”
…too lazy even to campaign, no wonder he can not run the country. Counting on ECZ to do your dirty work; you’ll be in for a rude awakening like you mentor RB was!
KAMINAMINSA WENT TO STATE HOUSE ONLY FOR WINDOW DRESSING. LUNGU IS PACKING HIS KATUNDU OUT OF STATE HOUSE THIS AUGUST. I WANT TO TAKE THIS OPPORTUNITY TO WARN LUNGU NOT TO BRING FOREIGNERS TO COME AND VOTE INTO OUR COUNTRY IN OUR ELECTIONS BECAUSE THEY WILL BE DEAD MEAT IF THEY DARE COME. LUNGU IS ALWAYS PROJECTING EN-MASS VOTING BECAUSE HE IS BANKING ON THOSE FOREIGNERS HE RECRUITED TO VOTE. THOSE ARE THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO CAN GIVE LUNGU A VOTE, NOT THE TRUE ZAMBIANS. ABASH CHAKOLWA ABASH! ABASH LOOTER ABASH! WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL THE NATION HOW YOU STOLE THE MORE THAN 23MILLION?
Only a stupid person puts confidence in Timor consulting, Dubai printer and ZICTA to fraudulently win elections.
Why people are not questioning President Edgar Lungu’s choice for running mate vice president Inonge Wina, but Question HH’s running mate, GBM.
Coparing the two – GBM and Inonge Wina, you get the following:
1. GBM insults – Inonge Wina does not
2. GBM fights and assaults people – Inonge Wina does not
3. GBM is involved in GBV – Inonge Wina is not
4. GBM once was taken to police by spouse for assault – Inonge Wina was never taken to police for assault for all the time the husband was alive.
5. GBM has had many police cases – Inonge Wina has had none
6. GBM’s education is in serious doubt – Inonge Wina’s is not
So, HH, based on my perception that your caliber had capacity to do so I expected you to easily see the above.
Really laughable even my 5 year old niece can ask tougher questions than these asked by the ZNBC reporter edited by Amos & State House.
Simply ask the Lazy Bum Edgar this; ” Your annual salary is X$ but you have aquired 2X$ please explain? “
@Jay Jay do you see the glass of red wine at Shaka’s feet? The poor guy (ECL) put it down and the silly ZNBC camera man made sure the “vino” was visible!
MB you are truly “Eagle-eyed!!”
CAN YOU HONESTLY BELIEVE ADULTS who HOLD/HAVE HELD HIGH OFFICE BEHAVING IN THIS MANNER THINKING THE VOTERS ARE SO STU>>U>PID TO BE TRICKED & CHEATED TIME & TIME AGAIN?????
YOU SEE ba KAPONYA BA PamaFI, ifya mu bu mfisolo tafi twalilila!!!!! YOU WILL ALWAYS GET FOUND OUT!!!
KABINGA PANDE even looks too embarrassed to be Photographed with these HYPOCRITES!!!
VOTE WISELY 11/8/2016!! VOTE ZAMBIA FORWARD WITH THE PARTY WITH A VISION!! Vote UPND!!
#chagwamustfall!! #PamaFikuyabebele!!
I thank you!!
Katondo Boys when you are not on the ground then one tends to be swayed by people who are abroad and are busy blogging. I was busy reading the ZWD and blogger comments and I was 98% confident that HH was going to win in 2015 but alas. Now that I am on the ground, I beg to differ with the views expressed by ba some of us abroad and those that blog; Lungu is winning. The game plan for UPND should be what next when HH hapitilila State House and finds himself at Embassy Mall along the Great North Rd.
MB
There is nothing taken serious with these empty tins….everything is with alcohol no time to read no wonder everything is a mess.
Jay Jay
Even in 2015 you and your fellow failures kept mumbling and talking same rhetoric and bigotry but ECL triumphant and HH was the looser. Same thing will happen.
HH and you blind followers think 2015 numbers were a popularity test for him. You forget simple facts that voter turnout was 33% average but 95% in Southern province.
Remember the role that Muzungu wopusa played. while HH kept campaigning, ECL was grounded with court cases deliberately created by Sikoti. While hh campaigned for 90 days. ECL had 23 days only and he won while your hh lost.
Now watch this one. Bringing into HH team, haters of ECL like Kilometer, Sikoti, maroads masebo gbm will not make hh win 2016 election. That be prepared to accept. Infact this is negative to hh
ECL is campaigning not as a novice this…

The death merchants (UPND thugs, stooges, goons, sympathizers and the Lucifer’s file a.k.a the Post Newspaper) wish you dead. They dream of an easy path into plot one. They want to force their stinky and stingy ways into red brick. God forbid, behold, the people of Zambia are on constant guard, no backdoor entry will be entertained; I declare good health for you. Alas! they under-estimate the works of God. Owe to the death wishers. Behold, God is in control, fear not son of man. The little devils have chance. SONTAPO.

Without shame Lungu is saying he will win in a clean manner when the opposition is blacked out from ZNBC, Times of Zambia, Daily Mail? Are you being honest!

WHAT A COLOSSAL WASTE OF TIME. LUNGU COULD HAVE TOURED UTH INSTEAD ALL HE CARES ABOUT IS MAKING THIS USELESS CAMPAIGN APPEARANCE. THIS MAN HAS NO IDEA HOW TO RUN A COUNTRY. AT A TIME WHEN THE COUNTRY IS WORRIED ABOUT HIS HEALTH HE INSTEAD TAKES THE FOCUS OFF OUR NATIONAL HEALTH CRISIS AND TALKS VICE PRESIDENT NONSENSE. MR LUNGU PEOPLE ARE DIEING AND ALL YOU CARE ABOUT IS RHETORIC. FOR GOD’S SAKE DO SOMETHING ABOUT UTH!!!!!!
@K.Bwalya:PLEASE USE YOUR TRUE TONGA NAME BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT BEMBA!!PLUS ITS TRUE THAT PRESIDENT EDGAR LUNGU WILL WIN CLEAN FROM ROUND 1 BECAUSE MAJORITY OF US VOTERS ARE BEHIND HIM!!plus if “chuundu chaitwa” chairman hh is popular as claimed by zwd and tongas,WHY IS UPND WISHING HH’S MAIN OPPONENT ECL DEATH?LET HH FACE PEOPLE’S CHOICE EDGAR LUNGU ON 11/08/2016 SO THAT WE CAN REALLY SEE WHO IS INDEED POPULAR BETWEEN HH AND ECL!!!”UMUNTU NI LUNGU-2016!!!GO PF GO!!
SOMETIMES I WONDER WHO HAS A HIGHER IQ BETWEEN KAMBWILI AND SOME CONTRIBUTORS ON THESE BLOGS. CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHICH HOSPITAL THE FAKE DOKOTTAA KAMBWILI WORKS? I NEED AN INJECTION. TOO MUCH KAMBWILIC LOGIC IN PF!!!!
@Eddie be a bit civilized: PF’s blacking out of the opposition from ZNBC, Times of Zambia, Daily Mail is so primitive. I’m shocked in 2016 you can support such barbaric behavior! Grow up!
@Eddy, use your true Ngoni/Nsenga name, you are not a European or American.
@Eddy,
I don’t know which primitive obscure part of Zambia you grew up in, but understand this: – Tribalism and racism is for small-minded prejudiced people mainly due to their own self-limiting beliefs. Dual citizenship is now being ushered in and you are still groping with tribalism? How then are you going to deal with, say Zambian Chinese?
@Eddy, the Tongas are talking with fake surnames to portray to bemba.
@ Eddy, we don’t need that kind of stupid!ty in this country. You can’t just debate matters without being tribal. Typical of PF a failled party.
ON THE COPPERBELT PEOPLE ARE SAYING: “IN RETURN FOR THE ENORMOUS SUFFERING THAT LUNGU AND PF HAVE BROUGHT ON THEM: KUYA BEBELE.” HE WILL HAVE NO CHANCE TO SURVIVE IN AUGUST. PEOPLE ARE HUNGRY AND ANGRY. IN KITWE YOU CANNOT FIND DOOM TO KILL CROACHES. THE PRODUCT HAS BEEN WITHDRAWN FROM THE SHELVES BECAUSE SOME MINERS WHO HAD LOST JOBS USED IT TO COMMIT SUICIDE.
LUNGU HAS BROUGHT ABOUT A LOT OF SUFFERING IN THIS COUNTRY. HE SHOULD GO. LUNGU ZWAA!
The fact is ,Lungu is a hypocrite. When he says he win these elections cleanly then the opposite is true. If u look at the pictures and numbers coming to Team HH rallies on their own on the CB and Northern Provinces then u know Lungu has problems ahead. With the wind of change sweeping across Zambia then u know people have had enough and they want a new govt and that new govt will be led by Team HH. People cannot wait to see the back of ECL. The only hope for Lungu is to rig these elections and retain power. However whatever rigging Lungu plans the will of the people will prevail. Lungu has accumulated K12.8 million in 15 months. He must explian the source of his quick wealth accumulation. Lungu is in the Presidential race to enrich himself and not for the love of Zambians or the…
I entirely agree. There is a strong similarity between now and 1991 when Zambians rejected KK. Lungu has been rejected. Its a pity no one in PF is seeing this; if they are, then they are in denial.
Very flimsy interview indeed. What total package? Answers lacking depth. How does an investor get motivated to invest in mother Zambia and create jobs by listening to this shallow talk? One would think President Lungu is talking to a bunch of retards. He can’t even give a credible summary of their so called manifesto and he reckons they will easily win? Clearly this sounds like an impromptu interview, meant to show up in front of cameras for ONE reason only. that he is well. The lie about ‘passing by ZNBC studio’ because he understands ZNBC wanted to see him does not convince any normal functioning adult.
I don’t know why people are accusing UPND over the issue of Edgar’s alleged illness. I haven’t heard UPND leader take to the platform to say Edgar is sick. Zambia Watchdog, a perceived UPND publication, has not mentioned anything on Edgar’s illness prior to this appearance. So, who has been spreading these rumours? I get an impression this is just a PF strategy to gain public sympathy, but such strategy may backfire against them.
Spot on Chosen One. My thoughts too. Desperate times for PF
Zambians are uncomfortable with people whose preoccupation is hatred for others. If you want to win their vote but you have not learnt this lesson yet, hen dont waste your time and money campaigning because you have lost them.
Why is this simple lesson so difficult for our colleagues in UPND to learn year in and year out? Up to now they have not figured out why they always lose, it really amazes me!
@Terrible,
I don’t think anyone of us is singularly qualified to speak on behalf of Zambians. Most definitely NOT you, because you do NOT know the difference between HATING someone, and OPPOSING someone’s view. I don’t know which Country you live in, but did you know there are homes where a husband supports the views of one Party, and the wife supports the view of the other Party? So, according to you they hate each other?
….And please remind us, how many times did ba Sata run for office before he finally became President? Does that amaze you also? Or is your amazement subjective?
Opposition should not have this level of hatred. Doing such just alienates independents like myself. Debate issues based on what you shall do differently rather than wishing fellow zambians I’ll health. with such, we may start agreeing with those that think you are devilish
@Faza,
Instead of making speculative allegations, kindly mention which political leaders HATE President Lungu and is wishing him ill health. Do you know the difference between HATING someone, and OPPOSING his/her point of view in a national debate that affects your future generations and mine?
The pressure is written all over his face. He had his chance of traveling and cheating the people. Now real men and women are in the field and the guy has tail down.
Lungu now has feet of clay and he’s surely going down.Yes ,you’re going to win the loss bwana Lungu.
I have indicated above that there is a very strong indication that the rejection of Lungu by the people of Zambia, save a few paid bloggers, is similar to the rejection of KK in 1991. I was very close to KK at the time, from the time he announced the elections day in Kasama (a week after Mandela visited him at Kasaba Bay and made an unfortunate comment that infuriated the MMD). KK was pulling crowds quite alright but these were loyalists who waited for the ballot box to finally show the exit door. I advised State House officials close to me to closely watch the mood of the people but they were all fully convinced it would be a whitewash in favour of the mighty KK. The first results came from Chimwemwe and we thought it was a joke because there was no way KK would lose. He lost. Lungu,…
@Eddy uli cikopoko sana! To you eating feaces is ok for as long as it is a bemba giving it to you! Uli mbwa wecipuba wee! Think with your head cikala for once!
Don’t insult anybody we are all one Zambia one nation, the people will decide who they want to rule them. Stop[ practising politics of the stone age. we are in the 21 st century where only facts count and not opinions, sir.
In which country are you giong to win?maybe Malawi. Not here in Zambia cos us Zambians this time around will vote for our fellow Zambian. No more foreigners.Twachula sana,We feel for you foreigners Lungu,Rupiah Banda,Chiluba and you all showed us your middle fingers. Now its wako ni wako, and its Zambian ni wako.
what a dull interviewer with absolutely no substance to the questions
@mypoint. You are so right this interviewer was kissing lunges feet. Very useless.
Yes Mr President there is no doubt that you are winning very very comfortably. Why do I say so? Because from the continued hatred displayed by UPND cadres here, it’s clear that they have not managed to win over the critical bemba votes and others. The hatred shows that the support base is still the same closed tiny minority that has been losing all these years. With such hatred I predict that the tiny club will lose even the support that they enjoyed in previous elections in southern and other provinces. I am very very very very sure that no real Zambians condone such hatred. I think that UPND has now been reduced to a tiny closed minority club like the Ku Klux Clan in the USA. GBM, Sampa and others should be seen as club patrons rather than as bembas.
@Terrible,
LOL – Do you know the difference between HATING someone, and OPPOSING his/her point of view in a national debate that affects your future generations and mine? Did you know there are homes where a husband supports the views of one Party, and the wife supports the view of the other Party? So, according to you they hate each other? What sort of IQ do you have?
In Zambia we don’t have tribes that hate other human beings like this, not bembas, not tongas, not lozis, not ngonis, not lundas, not luvales, not kaondes, not nkoyas, not lenjes, not lungus, not lambas, not ushis, not ilas, not namwangas, not mambwes, not any other Zambian tribe not mentioned here.
The new rebranded UPND does not represent any part of Zambia.
Why is the glass of red wine hidden under the table instead of putting it on top for all to see! ?
Even Ackson Sejani cannot recognise the rebranded UPND.
Iye ifyo ba onaula party yabene aba ba hechi hechi.
By the way has anyone checked on Dr Canissius Banda? Poor soul, someone please kaba pempuleniko.
And Hon Request Muntanga too, I wish you both a quick recovery by God’s grace.
I wish the same God’s everlasting grace to all other UPND leaders who have fallen victim to hechi hechi and his new alliances.
If you depend on the social media, you would think this man is very bad. But if you get his logic you will find out that some media paint him in their hate colors.
Runnuing Mate! So if HH becomes president in case of anything BGM becomes PRESIDENT. President in waiting. How about if he decides to go for HH”neck to achieve his ambition. Sleep with your eyes open!
@Terrible! You are the one who is full of hatred for the opposition. Why not talk about your party PF, you are busy talking about UPND. You call other people Lucifers, satanists etc, and then quickly say UPND is full of insults! What hypocrisy. Grow up. You and another PF useful idi0t ‘Eddy’ have nothing to argue about constructively, all you know is name calling. No wonder you can support mediocrity! That tells a lot about your intellectual capacity.
This is the President of the Republic of Zambia – His Excellence Edgar Chagwa Lungu. Very humble and down to earth. Hats off to you Mr President. May more happy days in State House Mr President.
I quote: “…I will not get a whip to crack at any media house which is abusing its position, its role, but at the end of the day, Zambians will do it for us, they will just shun you.” Exactly what I have done. I use to enjoy the Post and the Watchdog until I realized that they were a bunch of liars and axes of evil. To me they are dead and buried. VIVA ECL! VIVA PF!
@Disgusted
A humble and heartless bandit, a curious combination. Look, this man is a thief and completely unsuitable for high office. Have you see the wine he is hiding under the table? Is this the caliber you want in your president?
Sontapo epo wabomba!!!! Ba fi Carla mwebaletalika mwaba ama bungee kwati ya ngombe shenu. You vent so much hatred against a God fearing person ECL. Your brains are full of cow dung you thugs. You under 5 will never be the president of Zambia come what may!!! Mwayabula chi running mate filled with water and cow dung- what a choice of a presidential running mate. Kuwaya waya fye.

Our God given President. Woe to those supporting the Anti-Christ that even refused to pray for the nation. God’s works have manifested in our Nation now and NEVER NEVER shall we side with the Devil
It’s interesting how people think. Watching the American politics and comparing to what is obtaining pa zed, you see the backwardness amongst particular supporters. For those of you supporting hh and insulting EL, you are not bringing reasons (not justifying) why it should be he this time. What do you expect will be the difference he will bring. And those of us for EL, why should we continue with him. Let’s be civil and discuss with a view to winning masses to your side. Convince me why I should go for HH or EL. .For no one has given enough reasons to sway me toward HH. Talking about EL falling sick is primitive. He is human and is bound to fall sick just like Mazoka Sata and your self including hh would fall sick. This will not make some of us to move to the other side. Campaign…
@UKZN,
1.) – On the issue of credible planning and communicating your plans to the masses, I am sure you have read the self explanatory 10 point plan that UPND have set out in line with their manifesto. Have you read anything similar from PF so that you can compare with?
2.) – On the issue of ethics in a Public Office, I am sure you will note that President Lungu is paid K37,296.58 per month. Multiply that by 18 months you get K671,338.44 before tax. This is nowhere near K13 million he has ‘made’ in 18 months. So where has the money/assets suddenly come from for someone who is in Public Office?
So, do your own research and make your own conclusions.
Shakafuswa and a Glass of Jamerson hidden under his feet.
Just make sure it doesnt spill on the carpert Ka.
