I don’t know where my grade twelve certificate is, but certainly I know about the independence of the Electoral Commission and tender procedures as stated in the Act. But I wonder if Dr. Simutanyi knows about these basics.
I am usually very disappointed of with when I hear Dr. Simutanyi going wayward on political issues in spite of him being a Political scientist.
This morning I heard Dr. Simutanyi calling ECZ as politically compromised and going in an election when ECZ’s integrity is in shambles.
Dr. Simutanyi cited the issue of printing ballot papers in Dubai as one of his basis to judge the ECZ so harshly.
I am not being biased in anyway but I stand to defend the independence of the ECZ and the tender procedures.
I have always insisted that, if ECZ has flaunted the constitution or tender procedures I would be first to just on them like I did on the FRA issues and others. But this time around ECZ has not done anything wrong to warrant a learned political scientist to call them politically compromised and lacking integrity.
If Dr. Simutanyi had substantive evidence, which is what is required in any science, he would be justified, but Dr. Simutanyi, the defender of facts, has resorted to being speculative and suspicious like a witch political doctor.
Therefore, I think it is Dr. Simutanyi who is politically compromised, other than ECZ.
It would be good to advise Dr. Simutanyi to be factual since his opinion, based on the title that precedes his name, is highly respected by the citizens. The failure of providing evidence by Dr. Simutanyi, erodes and compromises his Title and that of other impeccable Doctors of facts like Dr. Kambwili.
Dr. Simutanyi should also realise the potential of his careless remarks on ECZ owing to the fact that, this election is so tight and could easily degenerate into political violence if careless statement continue to be planted in the minds of the innocent citizens who believe Doctors of facts.
If Dr. Simutanyi has political interest, he would do better to outline them and woo people on his side instead of issuing such speculative dangerous statements.

Is Tayali himself not compromised? All ECZ commissioners were appointed by the PF govt and in fact the current Chairman of ECZ , Justice Essau Chulu was appointed by Lungu on advice from RB. Chulu and RB are first cousins. These Commissioners are accountable to the appointing authority who is Lungu. So how independent is ECZ? Its not Independent .Its not a secret that ECZ has been directed by Lungu to print ballots in Dubai at a printer owned by RB’s business friends. Its not a secret that the Dubai printer was involved in printing pre-marked ballot papers for Uganda. The good DR was expressing an opinion and most Zambians agree with him. We know that Tayali is aligned to PF. Anyway rigging or no rigging people no longer want Lungu’s corrupt, thuggish,visionless and clueless PF govt…

Why has Edgar given ECZ personnel immunity from prosecution over their work. Where in the world are electoral commission employees given immunity? Even the vice president doesn’t have immunity. This is preparation for them rigging. But we can assure them that the immunity will be removed soon after elections so that they can answer for attempting to rig. There are many junior employees of theirs who want to be promoted and are watching, recording and reporting what they are doing.
If we have some semblance of sanity it is at ECZ we know corrupt kalale will continue to print negatives about ECZ because he misses the bribes he used to solicit but these guys have done amazing things under very very difficult circumstances. If u doubt them ask RB or if the late Mazoka could speak from the grave or ask KK. This Tayali guy is dangerously naive! There is no way the ECZ can be independent as he claims. Judge Chulu and Priscilla Isaacs are given orders by their masters behind the scenes on what they should do. They know that this is true we also know that that is what happens. They just rubber stamp important decisions! What independence! NONSENSE! Why do you think the Amended Constitution has included a clause to shield ECZ officers from Prosecution for any wrong they may commit? IWE KA TAYALI ICHONGO SHA! Ask parastatal chiefs and their lack of independence. It is scandalous!

Iwe Ka Tayali, Simuntanyi is correct the ECZ has proved itself to be a comprised institution, a sick joke. We are just luck that is Zambia, otherwise a peaceful country otherwise if it where anywhere else they would be daily strikes for it to be disbanded as is happening in Kenya.
This Tayali is a compromised fellow, going after the soft target Lubinda, while he knows very well that the maize scum is a joint project with lungu, but he dare not say it say it, only ranting at lubinda like an injured dog. Shame on you PF hired gun!
The sad thing about Neo Simutanyi is that he falsely uses the title of Dr. when those of us who know him very well know that he has no PhD at all. He failed to obtain a PhD at the University of Cambridge. That he insists on being addressed as Dr. despite this is, to me, a serious dent on his credibility and even on some of the statements he makes on political issues.
A PhD from an institution in the west can be verified by checking out if the claimant wrote a dissertation. It’s public information. Kambwili, kk, etc are not listed.

No government will reduce the price of m/meal and its simple logic. when you reduce the price, farmers will stop growing maize and go into other cash crops. It happened in Zimbabwe. farmers need an incentive to grow maize.

What was HH thinking? And for HH to believe Guy Scott, Miles Sampa and Mulenga Sata to be his campaign managers, were not these guys PF two or eight months ago? When they say PF messed up, who are they pointing to? Werent they PF themselves two months or so ago? The people of Southern province must be surprised what king of concoction their tribesman has eaten. Is Tayali himself not compromised? All ECZ commissioners were appointed by the PF govt. Rupiah appointed All ECZ commissioners but was beaten why can’t you do the same.
If appointments were the issue then there would be no impartial judiciary in the world since all judges are appointed. Leave ECZ alone to do their work.
The same people accused them under MMD but RB lost. UPND will loose for featuring unpopular leaders such as HH and GBM.
Kambwili s doctrate is a honorary one whilst that of simutanyi was accured through academically.

Neo Simutanyi has no doctorate whatsoever. I am speaking with authority as a don who worked with him at UNZA. He failed to complete his doctorate at Cambridge. In fact, UNZA censured him for false pretenses for using the title Dr. when he had no earned doctorate. Simutanyi was in fact on the verge of being disciplined for this by the university tribunal. Thus he left the university in disgrace, to avoid the humiliation of having his deceit publicly exposed. . If you are in doubt, go and ask the Staff Development Officer and you will be given this information. I rest my case.
UPND could not appoint anyone because they do not have the POWER to do so.
