    • This should not have been allowed a joint venture between two countries to fail! look at how Indeni and indo zambia bank have continued to move on.

    • Malnourished mind. Gullible *****ss everywhere, no wonder Eddie has paralyzed education sector, he sees no importance of educating such gullible minds coz they’ll believe everything, give praise to everything

    • Interesting to read the usual negative comments from anti Zambia reactionaries. Now they are saying it’s a bad idea and lack of curiosity to promote internal enterprises. Get it from here that this is a good strategic investment with potential to thrive. All Government need do is impose high tariffs on imported garments to make it unprofitable. The USA does it on many products in protected sectors. Japan did to kill the entry of Saturn car in their protected market. Promote buy Zambia would promote market and economic grow. Politics aside, i’m ready for a clean economic debate on this matter.

    • What the hell is wrong with Edgar? Yesterday in Mumbwa he was yapping that he is not desperate to be in power. Then today he decide to tell the same Lenjes that Mulungushi is reopened.
Even Kambwili is tired of this kind of desperation. Zanbians tefipuba fya kubepa umo shachela.

    • Lungu, that is why GETTING DRUNK 24/7 X 365 is such a TERRIBLE THING!!! You have brought the OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT INTO GRAND DISREPUTE!!! Honestly, the ONLY THING YOU SEEMED TO HAVE GONE & DONE IN KABWE, was to go & OPEN SOME GATES – THAT IS THE JOB OF A MALONDA!!!!!!!!!!!! Obviously, all PF DRUNKS & bootlickers are busy CLAPPING!!
OPENING AN OPERATIVE TEXTILE IS NO JOKE!!!

Vote WISELY 11/8/2016!! Vote ZAMBIA FORWARD!!! Vote UPND!! Abantu baya!!!

      #chagwamustfall!! #PamaFikuyabebele!!

      I thank you!!

    • Alibaba You obvuiously have never been to campus. If you had, you would know that fattening a cow o market day works.
PF Sonta epowabomba. Nga tawasonte selela tubomboko

  1. Just how many times is Mulungushi Textiles going to be closed and re-opened? Please even if it is campaigning, can we have some new ideas rather than recycling defunct business concepts and enterprises? ECL lacks the critical curiousity to understand the world of business around him. He is clueless of how to get the economy going. This is good for the optics and improvised campaign message for the shallow heads. Zambia we can do better!!!

  2. How many is the government going to sell and buy back the same company. Can the PF government disclose to the Zambians why it had to buy back its own company at US$3.3 Million when he only paid US$200,000. Is this not madness paying US$3Million extra or maybe its gone to PF campaigns.
Us people in Kabwe are not fools to be cheated like a baby who you buy sweet when she/he cries. We know this is an election useless trick, we are fed up of a person who just guesses and doesnt plan. No Lungu you have failed you have no clue what so ever. No wonder not heard of any big legal cases that you ever won.
Loser. Sonta where you have stolen.

  3. Part of Euro bond money finally being withdrawn from their offshore accounts. It’s too late Eddie Chapo!

  4. This kind of campaigning is disgraceful. The ‘entire’ President going round ‘opening’ or ‘commissioning all sorts of ordinary day ventures (some of which add no value) Nothing much happening in terms of really improving the quality of life – how about more proper manufacturing industries using local resources, available clean water, sanitation, health resources (not just structures) sustainable energy and constructive support for the agricultural industry? Its 10 days to the elections and I have yet to ‘hear’ about Lungu’s economic blueprint.

  5. “…The President says the textile factory will create over 20 thousand jobs in the next five years…”

    Buffoon or Liar?

    • Yes it’s possible to create that number of jobs in the end to end supply chain. This is from source (farmers market) to transporters, chemical supply firms, intermediaries to factory workers and related retail markets. Interdependencit’s creates jobs.

    • 20,000 JOBS IS EVEN AN UNDER STATEMENT. TEXTILE INDUSTRIES CREATE FAR MORE JOBS THAN MOST OF THE INDUSTRIES IN THE WORLD. IMAGINATION IS VERY SHALLOW WITH MOST ZAMBIANS.

  6. HOW IS MULUNGUSHI TEXTILE GOING TO FUNCTION WITHOUT MACHINERY? THAT WAS JUST A FACE SAVER AND WHEN DID THE JOB INTERVIEWS TAKE PLACE. PEOPLE DO NOT BE CHEATED IT WAS JUST A FACE SAVER.

    • Learn from the master designer himself – Jesus. When you stave the body for too long you die, Like wise when you over feed it, it becomes obese and develop all sorts of healthy problems. It means an optimal feeding blue print must be designed and followed to achieve a healthy attractive person, body. Visa Vi, Businesses or enterprises exist because they thrive in an environment that feeds them optimally and the environment benefits from its existence. I hope this declaration of the textile industry open also makes it relevant in the current economic dispensation, otherwise it will just resurrect now and die after 11 August 2016.

  7. in developed nations like usa,the mayor can only visit a new operation company ,he will have a tour of how the machines or chain of supply is done,he will meet workers while they are working and get their opinion as while as questions from them.but in zambia the president goes around the country laying stones and visiting empty buildings claiming that he is creating jobs,is he creating jobs for terminates and bush mouse?surley he is not creating jobs for ordinary zambians.

  8. “And President Lungu disclosed that government will invest 15 million US dollars in re-establishing the factory.”
I take it, its not operational yet?

  9. Imwe fi upnd!! The reopening does not imply being ‘fully operational’. The first step has been taken. See what comes on after this. Yes, I too, believe this has come at a questionable time. But hey!! The wheels of development will not come to a stand still just because we are voting next week. This shows that Edgar has no fear of your hallucinations.

  10. Kikikiki! What about the solar milling plants (blue ones) around the country? What’s the story now? How many bags of mealie meal do they produce per day? Ati what the name of the brand of the mealie meal being produced by the same? Looking forward to hear how this Mulungushi textiles will perform after a year. Hope the facility wont be turned into a storage facility for great wall of china cement. Ndelolesha fye.

  11. Lungu has run out of ideas.

These days He is only inaugurating drawing plans and lying to people that they are employed.

    Very funny.

  12. BAMINAYA BO UPND…. You guys and your president thought ECL was a pushover, little did you know that behind once a skinny gentleman lied a force to reckon with… You’re miles behind guys and in a little while the game will be over!!!!

  13. At least we in Central Province are now certain and confident that our future is great! It’s EDGAR CHAGWA LUNGU ALL THE WAY IN CENTRAL PROVINCE.
This is not a promise but a reality, icintu city umwene not endless promises from wife beater and industry destroyers.

  14. UPND are myopic and are enemies of progress as long as it’s not supported by their worshipped Supreme Leader HH…No wonder they are condemning the reopening of the Mulungushi Textile in Kabwe…

    • Zakeyo! Zakeyo! Zakeyo! open your eyes. Not everything that gritters is gold. Learn and keep learning. Even a grade five can tell this is just politics. When will our politicians stop giving false hope to Zakeyo kanshi! i cry for mother Zambia.

  15. if nitrogen chemicals of zambia has been revived.what can make mulungushi textiles to fail.where there is will there is always a way.ECL nafuti only 9 days to go ni sontapo.

  16. Lets pray to the almighty God he’s the one who chooses, He is in control , He knew him before he was formed and he separated him for a reason so lets wait upon him ……Gods time is always the best love you all Zambians
