Mighty captain hails triumph over Zesco

Mighty Mufulira Wanderers captain Taonga Bwembya has hailed Sunday’s 1-0 win over champions Zesco United in a FAZ Super Division match played at Shinde Stadium.

Ghanaian striker Rahim Osumanu scored in this Week 33 match as Wanderers moved closer to surviving relegation.

In a post-match interview, Bwembya described the win as sweet.

“It is a sweet victory for us. We worked very hard for that victory,” he said.

“We thank God for the three points. The win has motivated us and given us more power to move forward,” Bwembya said.

Wanderers moved to 11th position on the standing with 39 points from 33 matches played.

“I was not scared about relegation issues because I know we have a strong team.
I am so happy that we have moved away from the relegation zone,” Bwembya said.

Wanderers close their campaign with an away fixture against Red Arrows on 3 December.
