There was commotion at Siavonga police station last night when angry Siavonga residents that turned up for the local music show manhandled and dragged the organiser to the police station after the event failed to take off.
This was after the show which expected Zambian renowned artist K’millian to perform failed to take off due to the failure by the organizers to secure a police permit.
The show that was expected to feature K’millian was pegged at K25, 000 per person and saw scores of Siavonga residents turn up to watch the musician.
However, an angry mob manhandled and physically harassed the show organizer Evans Chisanga after police officers moved in at Kariba North Bank Recreation Club around 23: 00 and ordered the closure of the premises due to lack of a permit.
The mob pounced on the organizer and dragged him to the police station demanding to be paid back their money because K’millian did not perform any song.
Two uniformed police officers on duty at the station had a tough time trying to control the situation that almost turned violent forcing the officers to detain the organizer at the inquiries.
The situation later normalized after the mob was assured that the musician would perform today after the permit is obtained from the police.
ZANIS
These people are mad!!
Money talks!!
Beat him up and get your money back. Enough of crooks!
chameleon is still on demand kanshi.
Woman of substance #3, there is substance in your comment, days for crooks and lawless chaps are over, Zambians are now more enlightened than ever. Why didn’t the chaps consider a police permit or was it ignorance of the requirements of the law on his part?
“lawlessness”
It seems if you do small time crooked business yo get beaten up but if you steal billions you can be brave enough to beat up even journalists. Only if the roles were reversed and bigger plunderers were to be panel beaten instead of the small time crooks. They need to throw kapoko and other K10 billion plunderers on the street and give out some sjambok’s to have some real justice served.
The revellers were right to go Bananas, it seems this cooked organiser took advantage of the people ,let the Law visit him ,period. charity begins at home .
Nipa Zambia chabe.
#7, there is a difference between a thief who steals when you are not aware and you need facts to be colloborated to met out justice upon realising the crime as in the case of Kapoko who you want sjamboked on the street,; and a “robber like Chisanga who robs” from you with your eyes wide open whose actions are overwhelmingly beyond any reasonable doubt, facts are too notorious even for a non legal mind, in a way would motivate the robbed revelers met out instant justice! I do not condone lawlessness though, except the would-be revelers’ action is equivalent to a right compared to public journalism where non-main stream professionals take up the practice of information sharing and dissemination to educate one another and realise their inalienable right-bonafide claim of right.
#7 continued.
This is the equivalent right you and I enjoy when blogging, its tantamount to telling the main stream media that we can inform ourselves without their exclusively traditional role,in a way as good as telling the police man and the judges that don’t waste your (our) time we will get back our money instead of going to court! out of court settlement!
Sad for my poor Tonga cousins. K25 pin is alot to spend on a ‘chameolon.’ I ve never known a singing pet in that animal. Just what did they see in him? Ukupwalala.
