Zanaco on Saturday launches their 2017 CAF Champions League campaign with a home match against Rwandese giants APR at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.
The two sides clash in the first leg match of the preliminary round with the hope of starting the competition on high.
FAZ Super Division champions Zanaco are returning to the Champions League after a three-year absence.
This is the first meeting between APR and Zanaco.
“We are prepared. We just want to come and get a good result here because it is a two legged round,” APR coach Jimmy Mulisa said on arrival in Lusaka.
Zanaco coach Mumamba Numba is upbeat ahead of the match against APR.
“Our target is to perform better than we did last time. I think we have a team that can compete,” Numba said.
APR are facing a depleted Zanaco side dogged by the departure of key players in the new year.
Defender Fackson Kapumbu, striker Aubrey Funga, winger Rodrick Kabwe, midfielder Salulani Phiri and defender Mwelwa Sakala are among players who have left Zanaco.
