The Zambia Centre for Interparty Dialogue (ZCID) Executive Director Horrance Chilando has died.
Mr Chilando passed away on Monday at the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) around18:00 hours.
He was admitted to UTH after complaining of a headache before it was discovered that he had a brain tumor.
This is according to a Press statement issued to ZANIS by ZCID Chairperson Captain Walusiku Lyambela.
Captain Lyambela described the late Chilando as a selfless, innovative, dedicated democrat, hard worker, passionate nationalist and a political activist who believed in co-existence among political parties.
The funeral is being held at House Number 13753 Chalala off Shantumbu Road. He is survived by a wife and six children.
Details of the burial arrangements will be announced later to the general public.
Condolences to the family. this is one reason why PF should stop wasting money and invest in health rather than sending people to India just to come a die a week later at UTH. with good medical facilities, this tumor could have been detected early and operated on. but then why did UTH not operate on him?
Terrible to hear that.
RIP sir.
Thanks

meanwhile the head of state is busy flying. People let us get it right by now that since chiluba, presidents have been flying claiming that they are going to bring investors. By now we can see how that has worked for Zambia. The real investors are not here because our president traveled. e.g Lumwana mines owned by australians, no president traveled to australia to bring them to Zambia. So this trip ku Israel ya tourism fye and nothing tangible to benefit a poor zambian.
Had we spent this travel money on UTH, by buying equipment and improve man power and training these deaths would be diagnosed quickly and prevented
You pipo seriously how do you diagnose a death sure.
That came from the House fly…flies are able to diagnose death!
Mr. Chilando, may your soul rest in peace.
…
Isn’t this Captain quoted in there a retired woman from Mongu, a die hard UPeND cadre!???
There is no cure for death. We should just prepare most especially spiritually by being ‘born again’ in Christ Jesus.
