Pay rise negotiations have not failed- Mulenga

Chief Government spokesperson Kampamba Mulenga has refuted claims that negotiations for civil servants salaries have collapsed.

Ms Mulenga says negotiations will resume soon since government is committed to ensure that civil servants have a favourable conditions of service.

ZANIS reports that in an interview in Kalulushi District in Copperbelt province , today, she said Government was very committed to empowering its people.

She has urged civil servants to be patient as they await government’s talks with the unions on the matter.

Ms Mulenga who is also Miniser of information and broadcasting says government will broaden the revenue base before salaries get increased.

She Mulenga was reacting to sentiments from the Zambia Congress of Trade Union (ZCTU) president Chishimba Nkole who said that negotiations for civil servants had collapsed.

  1. you have to be a really desperate person to work for the civil service under illegal PF. Civil servants are meant to be taken care of and have the best pension deals but in zambia its other way round. Only the top pf leadership are enjoying our copper earnings while travelling irrelevantly around the world to shop.

  3. Kampamba you are a silly woman. What are you talking about chief Mukuni? What is wrong for the chief to sympathise when he has feelings? It is only PF members who can’t sympathise because they are in darkness except few genuine ones. You call Hakainde criminal what about the one who stole Votes? Vote stealing is criminal. Do not mock God by pretending to be saints when you are a bunch of criminals.This is a problem when someone is promoted through bottom power.
