Kitwe United maintained a narrow one point lead at the top of the FAZ Division One Zone Two table after edging Kalulushi Modern Stars 2-1 at Garden Park Stadium on Sunday.
Striker Emmanuel Chabula and captain Moses Lolozi scored the goals for Kitwe.
Kalulushi had scared Kitwe with a second half equaliser just after the break before defender Lolozi struck the winner late in the game.
Kitwe have 53 points, one above second placed Kansanshi Dynamos, after 26 matches played.
Kansanshi kept breathing heavily on Kitwe after overcoming FQMO Roads 1-0 in the Solwezi derby.
Third placed Indeni suffered a setback in their promotion race after being downed 2-1 by Ndola United in another derby at Musa Kasonka Stadium.
Indeni remain stuck on 47 points and are six points away from the top.
