Republican President Rupiah Banda was received well in South Africa by high placed government official who included Xiliso Makaya, Director of International Relations and cooperation.
Mr. Makaya led the rainbow nation’s government officials to receive the Zambian President who touched down at Lanseria Airport at 13: 30 hours yesterday.
The President was later driven to Sheraton hotel in Pretoria.
President Banda later on held a long meeting with his South African counterpart Jacob Zuma at the presidential guest house.
The meeting was attended by the minister of International Relations and corporations Mrs. Maite Nkoana- Mashabane and the Zambian High Commissioner to South Africa Leslie Mbula.
This is contained in a press release issued to ZANIS in Lusaka today signed by foreign Affairs Minister Kabinga Pande.
At the meeting the two leaders discussed bilateral issues affecting the Southern African countries as well as matters affecting the region.
“The President was well received and provided with both transport and accommodation by the South African government contrary to reports in the Post of today’s edition 5th August, 2009, which claimed that President Jacob Zuma was not aware of President Banda’s visit” Mr. Pande said.
President Banda also met his doctors for preliminary check up.
ZANIS
Ok thats good, Mr President
why would the president lie about going to South Africa to meet with president Zuma?
He has gone for medical review. Not a state visit
No gun salute? Was mswati accorded one during his last luxury visit those who followed the events of his visit.
Whatever the case, being met at the airport by a Director of sorts leading the South African Govt delegation does not reflect very positively of his standing. Granted, RB held talks with Zuma at the presidential guest house, however, it is very clear that RB’s visit to South Africa was not an official state visit.
Yes, this visit was not a state visit but RSA diplomacy kicked in very quickly just to embrace that brotherhood. Reaping from KK’s good leadership that endeared Zambia to nearly the whole world. But RB should have been explicit that while going for his medical check up, he will also pay a courtesy call on Jacob Zuma to wish him well. That is it why bit about the bush!!!
This whole thing is more Hillarious than both Mr Bean and mind your language.RB,what can we say??
why do this mmd fond of lies. They would have just said RB is going to mourning site hospital. Ata, bwafya.
Our shambles Post made a headline item based on one anonymous phone call to south africa. Thats Z jounalism for you. Iam interested in seeing them correct this story tommorow. When did they stop digging deeper before rushing to publish……
WTF ! It is RB again
RB is going to have his knee checked.. hhmmh ..review….
He can not tell every Jim and Jack!!!
Show us a Podcast of the reception.
There’s no need for the post to change their statement, the fact is that RB went to SA for medical review, not official vist.
The question is, is his visit was to just hold those talks, then he could immediately flawn back home?? Kumushi fast fast. Why stay here (Kukalale) for long. That would have a same day thing perieod??? It is only two hours from Lusaka to Joburg!
Of what benefit is this trip to the Zambian tax payers? Of course we know as long as he claims to be our president, he will be well received in South Africa except if it is Chiluba, hahaha. Do you know why? Lies and lies and lies!! If RB and his tandem of thieves were wise, then they should not have let health workers strike. But now four hours on the plane plus a team of bashushu makes Zambia lose millions of dollars each time one of the fat cats in govt houses falls ill. At one time we had four fat cats in South Africa. Do other regional countries fly their fat cats for treatment in South Africa? But for our fat cats, its too much, as if we do not have hospitals sure!!
Mmembe overrates himself on the national stage when he is just a simple tabloid paparazzi thriving on sensational twisted reporting. Its not surprising to see the our tabloid in this embarrassing debacle. How will the South African Government and any intelligent read take their reporting if they can tumble this way? Its not true that all Presidential itineraries are matters of overt sources. They can be be on strict “need to know” basis until the very last minute of departure to beat overzealous tabloid paparazzi crowds. This is how some unprofessional tabloids bruise and plug themselves into irrelevancy. The Zambian Watch Dog is ever accurate to the minute. It is Zambia’s newsreel rostrum readers can count on.Even LT has real time news access than Mmembe’s tabloid too entrenched in…
The problem whould be that if the knee thing does not heal properly, then more lies are going to flowrish!.
May be sometimes, people should advise the presido properly. Remember Akashambatwa is the main political adviser. He is never a serious guy and he will always advise to embarass the presido. I am not also sure if RB, litsens to advice really?
Is there something that haunts RB in statehouse? Surely, he appears like he is not comfortable in LPM’s ex-home. All this travelling is not normal for a head of state who has all the trappings of wealth in that fully lavished mansion. Why doesn’t he spend a complete day and night in plot one? May he does not even sleep there, who knows but why, why, why? Is it superstition or sheer incompetence? He seems to spend more time on the plane than in his house. Wasn’t he spending time at ghis dry farm in Chipata? There is something that is simply not right somewhere in RB’s presidency and we shall hear it sooner than later. Why doesn’t he want to travel to Europe or America kanshi, may he can learn something about Obama’s stimulus package and its potential to end unemployment?
Following “At the meeting the two leaders discussed bilateral issues affecting the Southern African countries as well as matters affecting the region“, I find this bilateral talk thing very difficult to accept because I am well informed that the South African government has not bilateral agreements with any country in the whole world save multi-lateral ones — after having stayed there and learning about how South Africans operate.
Thus, it appears President RB Banda is pushing hard to involve everyone in the SADC region but he will find it difficult with South Africa where government people are not easily implicated in lies. Anyway, it was great for President RB Banda to be received by some Director of International Relations and cooperation, Xiliso Makaya.

#16 Senior Citizen, welcome back. We missed your unreadable sentences, now we can have fun reading things that cannot be understood or don’t make sense. Anyway, enjoy your freedom fo expression but please try to communicate and not write gibberish!!!
Its not surprising to see the tabloid in this web of embarrassing debacle.Yes they made some retrievable anonymous calls with some watermark of tabloid gutter journalism as usual chasing the wind yet were expecting South African experts with liberation era security layer communication to detail the anonymous callers Presidential calender. What a circus of gutter journalism democracy has fueled.
Following Anyway, it was great for President RB Banda to be received by some Director of International Relations and cooperation, Xiliso Makaya. Funny that not even a Minister was sent to receive President RB Banda. Chansoni saana.
Sadly, it appears President RB Banda does not care about what he does and how it embarrasses us Zambians when it is done in wrong faith.
I hope President RB Banda’s advisers will take time to help him realise that he is actually President of Zambia and that the Presidency of a country is not a joke — to even play traditional cousin-ship with one of the opposition leader of UPND-PF PACT.

1 John 2:21 I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.
Lusakatimes is in favor of the MMD thats why they always counter what the post says even its not based on facts. The post is more neutral and gives the nation the truth on issues which other newspapers would otherwise not publish. thats all there is to it. i wont say it’s not the slighest bit anti-mmd but it’s better than Lusaka Times which is always trying to making the president look like a saint and publishes rubbish stories like chiluba warns young politicians. Zambia needs a revolution!
On “The President was well received and provided with both transport and accommodation by the South African government contrary to reports in the Post of today’s edition 5th August, 2009, which claimed that President Jacob Zuma was not aware of President Banda’s visit” Mr. Pande said, why does the MMD GRZ have to behave like the POST is running the government of the Republic of Zambia (GRZ) while the MMD ruling political party assumes a role of an opposition party to the fake POST Newspaper GRZ?
This is very unfortunate. Please, MMD GRZ, you are in control of Zambian GRZ and stop being reactive to the POST Newspaper.

1 John 2:21 I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.
You see, the main mission here was the medical check up.
http://www.info.gov.za/events/DynamicAction?pageid=462&sdate=2009&tabval=8&tabfield=kcMM if u follow that link you’ll clearly see that Jacob Zuma had no plans to meet with RB. RB was wrong to boast about going to South Africa to have “bilaterall talks” with Zuma.
hahaha do you guys remember the mulongoti updates “president mwanawasa was jogging” these guys are full of ish, i know some of you will disagree cos in ur villages there is no wisdom but in tonga land, is a fact that there is no smoke without fire….
In his tabloid work Mmembe ought to learn that Presidential calenders can also be characterized with high level unpublished itineraries made from peer-to-peer through their dedicated lines.Tabloids have to means to eavesdrop such contacts. They can be on strict “need to know” basis until the very last minute of departure to beat such ever malicious tabloids. This is how some unprofessional tabloids plug themselves into irrelevant overdrive.Yes the Zambian Watch Dog is ever accurate to the minute. It is Zambia’s newsreel rostrum readers can count on.Even LT has real time news access than Mmembe’s tabloid too entrenched insults.
Did they parade women to strip for him?
oh yeah and maybe Jacob Zuma could not meet im because he was taking one of his famous “anti-hiv showers” lol …. who cares, RB and JZ are both not presidential material, they both like little girls
WOW so the Government knew he may not have been receieved well for them to even try to explain that he was indeed receieved well. This whole thing is very suspicious.
MOST TRAVELLED PRESIDENT (ALREADY) IN ZAMBIA AND SOUTHERN AFRICA! HAS ALREADY TRAVELLED MORE THAN ALL 3 FORMER ZAMBIAN PRESIDENTS, HAS EVEN TRAVELLED MORE THAN ANY OTHER MINISTER (INCLUDING FORREIGN AFFAIRS), EVEN MORE THAN ANY NEIGHBOUR (INCLUDING BIRTH PLACE)! ALLOWANCES, SALARY (FOR MADAM)! ITS A GOOD PACKAGE (WAS ALSO PAID AUGUST SALARAY NOW? I HOPE THEY ARE TICKING THE TAB!
Yes Mmembe and his tabloid is too busy with the business of crafting and rehearsing insults to shower on RB, the MMD and all Zambian mothers especially those in the civil society pumping reason in him. In so doing, he is left in the dark but cocking up stories. Not surprising that the Zambian Watch Dog is ever accurate to the minute. It is Zambia’s newsreel portal readers can count on.Even LT has real time news access than Mmembe’s tabloid too entrenched in insults.Zambia deserves credible and professional private media not the gutter role of the Post.
Senior Citizen I think it’s very unlikely that South African Tabloids would rush to the airport to be taking pictures of RB. They have more “important” issues to report on such as what southafrican celebs are up to than report on than another head of state coming to their to check up on his knee. Since you’re in states i would assume that you do know what type of news tabloids report…
You cannot be professional if you are ever preoccupied with insults, malice, hatred and in endless exploration of ways and means of plunging the country into turmoil. There is a big vacuum in the private media domain which ingenuous Zambians must rise up and fill now.
This visit is very suspect. I mean not a single tabloid in SA covered his visit meanwhile he is the head of state.
You want to know how gutter journalism Mmembe’s tabloid represents in the country? Its all in this:
The Post, M’membe – Gate keepers turned poachers
The Post created a niche for itself as a crusader for democracy and free speech in 1990. It sided with the newly created Movement for Multi Party (MMD) and readily climbed into bed with its leader Frederick Chiluba. The venom against then president Kenneth Kaunda and his UNIP party was relentless. The newspaper called Kaunda a thief for having stolen K6bn, the foreign debt that Zambia had acquired since independence. Aided by their support of the MMD, and Chiluba, the paper coined new words like ‘demagogue’ to describe Kaunda and UNIP. The Paper was colourful in its description of Kaunda as an incompetent leader, a dictator of the worst kind and one whose government had plundered the nation’s coffers. The Post and MMD had come to redeem the country.

The Paper was colourful in its description of Kaunda as an incompetent leader, a dictator of the worst kind and one whose government had plundered the nation’s coffers. The Post and MMD had come to redeem the country.
Things began to unravel around about 1995, the paper slowly began to turn against its erstwhile friends and by the end of Chiluba’s rule in 2001, the enmity between him and his government and the newspaper was palpable. The Post coined a new phrase ‘The matrix of plunder’. The name Kaunda had been replaced with Chiluba and the papers was once again spewing its venom on a government and its leader.
In the meantime Kaunda had been transformed into a saint. When no stolen money was found, the paper did not apologize to its readers or KK, but began an era of rehabilitating him. From demagogue he became a democrat. From vitriol for KK comes huge love. He has been allowed to white wash his image in a column, the paper has been sucking up to him to the extent that the newspaper pays his DSTV subscription and sponsors his birthday parties. Nothing is too much for KK now. From pariah to high priest. KK coughs, the newspaper catches a cold. Of course the paper has also gained from the reflected glory of being associated with the former president. The Post conveniently forgets the hate it had directed at the first president.
36 Senior Citizen greetings. While I understand that watch dog Zambia and Lusaka Times operate in a way linked to the MMD GRZ, I would like to remind you that “too much of one thing is very dangerous“. In light of this, same combination of words on almost every thread that involves the POST, Sata MC (Grade 2/6, unknown) and president HH (MBA, UK) is not working.
I am afraid onlookers will have a very telling impression about your writing. To this end, I humbly ask you to tone down on hard same repeated language that seeks to paint bad the people and businesses you do not agree with on simply or purely personal interests — MMD link.

The last sentence of this story should have been the headline….shame that he cannot go to UTH for “preliminary check up.” 2011 kuya bebele.
Maestro Hakucincha,
Appeasement like excessive love for praise from peers under any given dispensation is symbolic failure. If you blog to appease friends at the expense of national interest which is in black and white, then you are not fit to be national actor or play a meaningful progressive role in our nascent democracy. If i see every degree of insanity in Sata, obsession for tribalism and immaturity in Ichilema, natural hatred and subversion in Mmembe or indeed the hopelessness in our indoctrinated kids here in the belief that Sata has a 90 day economic miracle cycle for more money in their pocket, if i flatter these that they are right, then I’m failing. its not about plugging in scriptures in our blogs but driving home a straight talk. There is no hope in what PACT.
But why should the government counter what was reported by the Post if all is well?
Mwanawasa was dying whilst the government I.D.I.O.T.S were briefing the nation that all was well.
Anyway, Zuma would have been at the airport to welcome him if the visit was official. Otherwise, the meeting at the “presidential guest house” was just our African cultural mannerism when there is a visitor in our villages.
VIVA THE POST
42 Senior Citizen thanks very much for the response. On your “If you blog to appease friends at the expense of national interest which is in black and white, then you are not fit to be national actor or play a meaningful progressive role in our nascent democracy“, you know too well that I do not blog to appease anyone for I do not even have friends on LT or elsewhere, but counterparts like you to make Zambia a better place to live in.
What you need to understand is that I am very disappointed with the way the MMD GRZ is running Zambia. Firstly, there is absolutely no need to react to the POST’s news for it business to them.

1 John 2:21 I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.
He claims to be a journalist having received a diploma through a part time correspondence course. However he has never written anything but editorials where his style does not reflect any professional training. His writing is easily identifiable as it is often filled with hate filled invectives or he is praising himself.
Mmembe has assumed a self righteousness that has stamped itself on the newspaper and took advantage of the fact that he can attack and insult people knowing they have no way of hitting back at him as he refuses to publish letters or opinion critical of him or the paper. The other daily newspapers still live by the old school ethos of not attacking another media, even though Mmembe himself does not abide by this maxim.
42 Senior Citizen. Secondly, President RB Banda does not need to explain himself to anyone but just defend and protect the Constitution of Zambia.
Indeed, if there were shushushus, how would I be safe as a Zambian outside Zambia territory where Zambia Defense Forces and the Zambia PoIice Service have no jurisdiction save for cooperation in Interpol.
Thirdly, President RB Banda should stop lying and insulting, and then follow young US President B.H. Obama in trying to be honest about the difficulty job he has to do to make Zambia better.
If the brother or grandparent Mr President is sick, let him tell the Nation the truth, period.

1 John 2:21 I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.
Mmembe has taken the moral high ground and is fond of pointing fingers at other people’s shortcomings, but he has many of his own. For example he condemned opposition leader Edith Nawakwi for having a child with her erstwhile polygamous common law husband Hambulo. He said as a political leader she set a bad example because unprotected s-e-x was a driver of HIV infection. What he neglected to mention was that he too has at least two (known) illegitimate children the youngest of whom is with his casual partner at the Ministry of Justice. That child is now about five years old, much younger than Nawakwi’s daughter, meaning that while he was pointing fingers at Nawakwi , he was also having unprotected s-e-x with a woman who was not his wife.
It is only in these later years that Mmembe has stopped picking up muzungu back packers (whom he used to employ as ‘sub editors’) and muzungu women from the workshops he used to attend. All these lived with him in the house in Sable road. He might have been using condoms but the fact is he had many ‘concurrent s-e-x-u-a-l partners, a driver of HIV infection.
Mmembe has often made insulting remarks about Chiluba having stolen his wife Regina from her husband. Recently he did exactly the same thing. His present wife Mutinta was married to a cancer victim, she got a quickie divorce (just like Regina) But she was already two months pregnant – meaning that while she was married, she was having unprotected s-e-x with Mmembe.

42 Senior Citizen. Following If the brother or grandparent Mr President is sick, let him tell the Nation the truth, period. What will follow is that Zambian people will empathise with him and even pray for his healing.
However, continued cheating will only encourage Zambians to see him, Mr President, as unfit to rule Zambia. Anyway, I will leave this one for the coming elections.
On “There is no hope in what PACT“, I disagree totally because president HH has proved that he is a good manager by making 40 Billion Kwacha in 46 years while President RB Banda has only managed to make 3 Billion in 73 yrs. In fact, this is a shame.

1 John 2:21 I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.
Maestro Hakucincha,
I know and i’m glad that you are neither an appeaser of friends nor driven by peer pressure but integrity. That is the starting point of a long journey to leadership you have plugged yourself in .People appeasers are not leadership material because leadership calls for a life of the uncharted waters. stay steadfast and passionate for the common good. The future is in our hands.Steadfastly we are the ones with a collective spirit building a core of leadership adaptive to changing times. But i will remain unapologetic that under our watch, Sata is vainly in a senseless goose chase for power he will “never ever land”.
42 Senior Citizen, on “If i see every degree of insanity in Sata, obsession for tribalism … in the belief that Sata has a 90 day economic miracle cycle for more money in their pocket, if i flatter these that they are right, then I’m failing…“, yes Sata MC (Grade 2/6, unknown) has done badly in his life but he is trying to make amends to his shortcomings and only God is the final Judge of him.
Instead of insulting him, help him be a better person. Insults only make you lose the respect I have for you. This is because you are supposed to be a role model to the young ones. Surprising the route you have taken is unfortunate.

42 Senior Citizen, on “… immaturity in Ichilema…“, I hope you know what the word insult means for President HH is not lame. As for “… natural hatred and subversion in Mmembe or indeed the hopelessness in our indoctrinated kids here in the belief that Sata has a 90 day economic miracle cycle for more money in their pocket…“, the POST/mmembe is only made to be a great man by the MMD GRZ which has failed to run the country well — by responding to his editorials and news. I think, this is why the POST has the audacity to use words like “our people” as if they are governing a section or the whole of Zambia.

42 Senior Citizen, Following I think, this is why the POST has the audacity to use words like “our people” as if they are governing a section or the whole of Zambia. Maybe this is the reason why Zambia has not been visited by any high level political authority from the USA — as we may be viewed as small nations within a Nation Zambia where the POST rules a section, the opposition another and the MMD GRZ the rest.
Please, we are not in a game of Chess but a real life situation and let MMD GRZ show that they are in control of the Nation using its mandate following the votes they received in the 2006 and 2008 elections.

Mmembe has no moral order, ideology or maturity but economic determinism at all costs through manipulation out of insults on leaders and vigilant citizens debunking him.
God bless and blog you some other day
51 Senior Citizen, on “Maestro Hakucincha, I know and i’m glad that you are neither an appeaser of friends nor driven by peer pressure but integrity“, great stuff indeed from you. It is a pity I am not in a position to meet you in person, but who knows what will happen in future?
On “Steadfastly we are the ones with a collective spirit building a core of leadership adaptive to changing times. But i will remain unapologetic that under our watch, Sata is vainly in a senseless goose chase for power he will “never ever land”“, well a man has got to do what he has to do and so all the best in your activities.
Be blest.

Maestro Hakucincha,
You have forced me to drop this one on the thread as my clearance. At no time have I ever insulted anyone not even Sata the travesty of opposition political leadership characteristic of his worst ever insanity a political caricature can be. Insults are not part of my bloodline. I believe in straight talk but remain a self managed conservative moralist. I do not hate Sata whom FYI I share some distant bloodlines with. I just detest his moral crush, and historic obsession for tribalism. If you met my kids, you would be shocked to learn how cultured they are. They will never call you by your name but Uncle, Auntie, Mama,or Papa. People like Mmembe with vile language would be told off “uncle you are using bad words we don’t condone”.
60 Senior Citizen, impressive stuff and hope to meet them. Anyhow, find a few definitions of the word insult as obtained from Google Search engine by typing “define: insult“:
1.abuse: a rude expression intended to offend or hurt
2.diss: treat, mention, or speak to rudely
3.a deliberately offensive act or something producing the effect of deliberate disrespect.
Now is president HH (MBA, UK) Ichilema (lame)? Or is it that maybe you write in exactly the same way you speak in Bemba Language?
4.An insult (also called putdown) is an expression, statement (or sometimes behavior) which is considered degrading.
Until the next time.

Senior Citizen, I thought people welcomed you in good spirit but not for you to spoil the whole debate with lies about Mmembe or whoever you dislike. Reading between the lines, why do you bring Mmembe’s private life into his profession? Were you once Mmembe’s partner or house mate? Do you really have have a family you live with yourself? To me, you sound like a person who wants to justify himself, which is usually an unnecessary effort for someone whose life is in order. You can tell us lies on this blog but that will not change the fact that your life style may even be worse than that of Mmembe. Surely did you see him having unprotected sex with people and what were you dooing in his private life? You must be another petty pathological liar not worth our audience, I am sorry!!…
Zambia is a democratic country and, according to our Constitution, everyone is free to form a political party.
“But, as Zambians, we all must be realistic in our quest to form such political parties.”
The decision taken by Dr Chishimba to resign from the PF to form his own party is an indication that the major opposition parties are losing base.
“I strongly feel that the mushrooming of these small parties is a sign that there is something wrong going on in these big opposition parties.
Probably they are losing base with the youth, and a very good example is Dr Chishimba who left the PF in unexplained circumstances and so, definitely, something is not right.

If God created man in his own image why do we have so many divergent views? Those of us with analytical minds see the Post as right on as regards this episode. The Post had a picture of the President struggling to get out of his Benz implying that the President had a problem with his knee. This is confirmed by the last sentence “President Banda also met his doctors for preliminary check up”. What is wrong with just saying the president had gone to RSA for a medical review instead of the hyperbole the President had gone to RSA to meet his counterpart. How can this episode be embarrassing to the Post?
#65 Can you please shade more light on Mr Xavier Chungu (EX Chief Spy). It was alleged that his illness was a result of food poisoning. How on earth? This man was in GRZ custody so who poisned him. Is this they way treating such pipo who held sensitive positions in GRZ.
#76 later they said he has to be out of prison because of the poor sanitary conditions, now tell me what about the other prisoners who have been remanded in custody? The basis for a bail and very shaky!!!
#64 Your right. Chishimba and his UPP will not go very far. Yes he spoke some gud stuff but how many pipo will follow him. Pipo know what they want these days the young man has just made 10yrs backward in his political career. Politics is about numbers and this is how it goes in Zambian and african version. He is goig to regret sooner than later. Its better for to back to his medical profession and open a medical facility. Providing leadership is not about getting emotional its about being level headed.
Highly placed officials who included some Director? Not even a minister! Wow, and he was expected in the country? Yeah right!
Can someone please tell me,when are the next elections pa ZED, change, change, change, how can the Zambian people allow such a person to rule?only last week he was in Tanzania, uganda & now South Africa!!when does he have time to resolve national issues?this guy is jetsetting pa!
#20 #20 ha ha ha ha you have made me laugh so you know that SC writes in reverse? i doubt if he read Jelita and Mulenga Sara and Robert these books had the simplest English.
UPP = Nashala Neka Party
i envy RB who is immuned to jet lag. kamwendo munjila. i hear he will be travelling to Swazi.
so bloggers if i mean if RB had to pass on can the people of Zambia cry their lungs out? i mean if. John fimo fimo wanisekesa.
#89. He is not immune to jet lag. It is just that countries he has been travelling to are in the same time zone
#90 why would they cry, maybe just the africaness in us would allow for some emotions to be poured out because a human being has passed on, the only true test is when someone like Teta takes over and says I will carry on with RBs legacy, then you will see how much of a circus the rallies will be because even Nawakwi who was carrying water for Banda last year will forgo the comfort of the presidential chopper
RB is just avoiding the journo demo period. We can waste our time justifying his trip to SA. I’m in SA there is no mention of his visit here, with very watchful media here, not that catfight in Zambia, they would have picked it up long time. I hope those journo wait until he comes they can give him their piece. Here is president who is busy travelling during recession while begging for money to pay salaries for doctors, nursies, teachers, etc. Why can’t he just stay home save money and fix some issues back home. The next thing he will go on holiday, after spending the last two months travelling. He is crap.HH start preparing yourself now.
Finshi mulebutuka ba RB ? Gatecrashing into RSA like a refugee !
How true is it that HH ( MBA UK, Privatisation Crook) and his boss and mentor MC SATA have backed out of the impeachment process ?
#95 that is false
#36 The media in South Africa have no time to cover RB’s visit. They have other equal important matters to report on such as rape case, robberies etc. Yes here we have limited events to report on hence day in day out its RB, MMD, GRZ officials and Sata, HH and all sorts uninteresting events. Down there is mcuh to report ranging from business, sports, politics, social events etc. Infact they dont have ample space to write on RB’s visits. What matters is he was received well and everything went on according to schedule. Thats it. Believe me upon return from RSA RB will not stay 5 days in State House will go somewhere to attend a traditional ceremony either in Zambezi or Chiengi Districts. A head of state can direct things to happen from any where he dims fit. ITS A BUSY JOB.
RB was jogging yesterday after he saw his Doctors. ahh ahh
Senior Citizen i agree with you, But after a while Membe fell out of favour with Chiluba coz he didn’t meet his expectations. Since then he has become his swon enemy and has not become tired of insulting Chiluba at any opportunity. Its sick because Membe has also done certain things and one it will be him.
Bolggers I think we need another private paper, the Post is very unpprofessional at times with their sensationalism and insults. And they think they are the best news paper. We nee serious competition for the Post. Can some investor invest into the Monitor and other papers so we can have a balanced reporting
RB is an emberasement to this Country period. Why should even his travell attract lies from him and Govt offials . Shame on all of them
At least the Minister of Foreign Affairs could have recieved him. In this case a kapala was there for him. Ba Banda mulebako serious.
this is what happens when you allow sangomas to trot all over your kachalo..
He is really racking up the airmails! Is this for his hip or his head??
Sorry airmiles!! – Whose bad?
Senior Citizen sounds like he is an underground MMD journalist.
Are there no Doctors in Zambia? Please stop over working our SA doctors. They already have a lot on their table
I have seen some bloggers referring to the president as Nyama Soya. What does Nyama Soya mean?
It is unfortunate that some bloggers are rubbishing The Post. Granted, The Post has its shortcomings but it remains the most fearless paper in Zambia. Without The Post Zambians wouldn’t have known that Mrs Thandiwe Banda has been receiving a salary for doing nothing.
#107
I agree with you. Why should a head of state so shamelessly feel so comfortable to put his health in the hands of a foreign country. It just goes to show that the government is not doing much to up lift health standards in Zambia. Am tired of hearing about every high standing political jim-&-jack being flown to some foreign country for medical attention. I long for some change.
#108 yes that story of thandiwe just went underground. Whats happening? Is she not supposed to be charged for that? This should not be ignored
NEWS FLASH, : RB was seen with Mrs Mwanawasa in Pretoria. It is believed Mrs Mwanawasa flew from Cape town to meet with RB and his wife. The meeting was held at a hotel in Pretoria, one wonders what was discussed. it could be a position for Maureen in the Govt. lets wait and see
What is sad is to see our Head of State go for bilateral talks with his counterpart (Zuma) only to be assigned a director of fimo fimo to welcome him. See the way our ministers line up and how our ladies dance when a young man like king Mswati come here as tourists. Shame on us! This can make a very good poem; Bilateral talks, bilateral talks………………
MAYBE RB WENT TO MEET A SWAZI VIRGIN, DONT FORGET THAT MSWATI WAS IN ZAMBIA A FEW WEEKS AGO!!!! WAS THANDIWE WITH HIM???
Ridiculous to see our leaders flying to SA each time they have a cold!. During Shipanji’s time we had Maina Soko where these fat cats could go. Now they have to go to SA to be attended by Zambian doctors. What a joke.
In the mean time they fail to improve health facilities or bring in medical equipment like MRI and PET scans. Much easier to give the money to Morningside Hospital in Sandton.
This external treatment by our leaders needs to be capped else they will not improve facilities for the rest of us poor Zambians that have to go to UTH.
Same thing must apply to education. In the old days we used to sit side by side with children of government ministers in our classrooms. Now they fly their children overseas because the schools are no good.
The word that comes to mind is…
Rb is too heavy for his poor knee let him take a rest for the sake of his poor knee
What do mean received well? Kabili ni President beside he was invited. RB received well twati ni news sana.what did he go to do there, Zuma hadimportant issues to attend to not entertain a Global trotter. He might as well visited Msawti to finnish some business over that woman ..
