Power Dynamos on Wednesday unveiled Kelvin Kaindu as the Club’s new coach replacing Dan Kabwe who quit a fortnight ago to join Lusaka Dynamos.

The former Zanaco FC winger joins Power after having spent the last ten years in Zimbabwe as a player and a coach.

He coached top side Highlanders FC from 2012 to 2014 before he resigned on the 30th of September 2014 after Highlanders lost 3-1 at home to ZPC Kariba, the club worst home loss since 2010 and fans called for Kaindu to step down.

Kaindu had led Highlanders to two consecutive second spot finish in his first two seasons which saw the Bulawayo based side lose the Championship to Rivals Dynamos twice on Goal difference.

Kaindu then made the switch to the modest Triangle United from the town of Chiredzi where he led the club to a fourth placed finish which is the clubs best ever position.

Kaindu then moved to How Mine in 2016 where he had his worst season as a coach in Zimbabwe as the club ended in 10th position.

Kaindu’s record in Zimbabwe stands at 68 wins, 46 draws and 30 losses in 144 league matches with a win percentage of 47%.

  1. And you call that one a coach without a trophy. Please Power Dynamos Administration try and see the achievements of someone. Kelvin has never won a cup in his entire coaching career, how is he going to put Power Dynamos on track again.

  2. Mediocrity nothing else. I wish to know the objectives that the club has set. Another trophyless season for the once powerful power 90.

  3. Congratulations Kaindu. It is nice operating at home ground. I have confidence that you will deliver just like you did down across the Zambezi. Your sleepless cold nights on UK trains in persue of your Coaching licence will now benefit Power 90!!!!! viva Power! viva KK.
Shame the critics!!!! Let them ask Gumede in Zim what you can do.

  4. This club, they bought 4 players who can’t add value to the team. Pdfc is now becoming like Chang’s Rangers just grooming young players now. Management should stop running football at this club using ideas of the 80 and 90s. Think beyond the boundaries of Kitwe and Zambia. The world is now global including football. There are good coaches out there who can coach for free even paying them 5000 USD.
