Simon Bwalya says Nkana itching for Zanaco

Forward Simon Bwalya says Nkana are looking forward to their Charity Shield semi-final clash against Zanaco set for March 3 at Nkoloma Stadium in Lusaka.

Zanaco face Nkana in the lunchtime kickoff while Napsa and Zesco will clash in the 15h00 kickoff for a place in the Samuel ‘Zoom’Ndhlovu Memorial Charity Shield final to be played on March 10 at the same venue.

“It is a very important game for us and we are taking it seriously,” Bwalya said on Wednesday.

“The game against Zanaco is a must win for us. It will be a morale booster before we play our CAF Confederation Cup match,” he said.

Meanwhile, Napsa coach Linos Makwaza has revealed that his side was eying the Charity Shield.

The Napsa-Zesco semi-final showdown is the repeat of the 2017 Barclays Cup semi-final that the latter lost 4-2 on post-match penalties after a 0-0 draw at the same venue.

“Those are games we should be playing. I just hope the boys will rise to the occasion. It is good preparation for the upcoming season. Hopefully we can win the Charity Shield,” Makwaza said.

The FAZ Super Division will kick off on March 17 a week after the Charity Shield final.
