Nyirenda names final Zambia team for 4-nations tournament

Wedson Nyirenda has named his final 30-member team for next week’s four-nation tournament that Zambia will host at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola.

And FAZ has changed the tournament dates from March 22-25 to March 21-24 due to administrative reasons.

Nyirenda has dropped eight players who include Green Buffaloes striker Youremember Banda and Power Dynamos’ Alex Ng’onga who is still recovering from an injury he sustained on 2018 CHAN duty in Morocco in January.

Others dropped are Lusaka Dynamos midfielder Cletus Chama, Zesco United’s Lameck Banda and Power defender Allan Kamwanga Jnr.

New call-up and Nkwazi defender Kedson Kamanga has also been dropped.

Meanwhile, Zambia will face Zimbabwe in the first semi-final doubleheader at 13h00 while South Africa and Angola meet at 15h00 on March 21.

  1. What is happening to Patson Daka and Kapumbu please!! Question mark (?) kunuma. But we are still behind you

  2. Coach plz padon kalaba for sake of the game,he is also human he can make mistakes remember you were once a player you did also made mistakes but you were forgiven think twice

  3. The selection looks good but where are Patson and hard working Kapumbu? Geofrey (5), I think we should get used to playing without Kalaba. He is a good player but doesnt add much value at the national team. When it matters most he doesnt come to the party but I’m not suggesting he is not good. By the way, I would prefer Chris Katongo on the bench to pastor Chintu.

  4. WHY HAVE WE BEEN LEAVING BEHIND, THIS SOCCER GENIUS IN THE NAME OF FWAYO TEMBO. HE HAS SOPHISTICATED TECHNIQUES, SPEED AND ACCURACY. IF WE ARE TO WIN, LET US INCLUDE SUCH KIND OF PLAYERS RATHER THAN DRAMATIST THAT WE HAVE INCLUDED SO MUCH THAT WE SHARE THE FUNDS AFTER THE TOURNAMENT IS OVER EVEN AFTER LOSING.

  5. Ba Wanda. Kabaso Chongo is a good player and the boy is Doing it for TP Mazembe. He deserves a place in the national team. Looking at your defenders. Kabaso is better than your boys. Please Coach Consider Choongo for Zambia. You are a good coach but by leaving Kabaso Choongo you have missed it.

  6. my advice is this mr nyilenda:get daka, mwepu, emanuel banda and fashon sakala in the team so the game be good and suit for us to watch while relaxed for we tired for embarrassment. thanks for taking up my request.

    • FOR SURE WE HAVE THE TEAM BUT THE SELECTION CRITERIA AT TIMES LEAVES MUCH TO BE DESIRED, WHEN WE NOW THINK WE HAVE A TEAM THATS WHEN OTHERS ARE DROPED . WE WERE EMBARANSED IN MOROCO NOT BECAUSE OF ANYTHING ELSE BUT SELECTION . DAKA MISSED THE NIGERIA GAME WE UNDERSTOOD THE INJURY HE HAD. BUT Y NOW. KALABA IS STILL GOOD AND WE STILL NEED HIS EXPERIENCE IN THE TEAM. FWAYO, CHAMA CLETUS SATE SATE MISSED THE CHAN FOR UNKNOWN REASONS. LET THE COACH LEARN TO FORM AND SUSTAIN A TEAM AND NOT PROBABLY USE EMOTIONS WHEN SELECTING.
