The opposition UPND has shunned the two day National Democracy Stakeholders’ summit organized by the Zambia Centre for Interparty Dialogue (ZCID) as a prelude to the national dialogue process.

The UPND has on many occasions indicated that they will not be part of the dialogue process as long as it is spearheaded by the Zambia Center for Interparty Dialogue (ZCID).

Speaking when he officially opened the Stakeholders’ Summit in Lusaka, Justice Minister Given Lubinda said dialogue is key to resolving any conflicts and that it does not matter who leads the process.

Mr. Lubinda has also assured the stakeholders that the government will take into consideration all the resolutions of the summit, adding that and that the enforcement of the resolutions should not worry them.

The Minister says he is aware of some of the concerns of stakeholders that include the application of the Public Order Act, separation of powers, judicial independence, electoral reforms and constitutionalism among others.

Speaking earlier, ZCID Chairperson Nathan Mulonga observed the need to have harmony in the country.

Mr Mulonga says this can only be achieved through processes such as the national democracy stakeholders’ summit one.

Mr. Mulonga has also observed the need for civility in the political arena.

  1. Zambia Center for Interparty Dialogue (ZCID) has a lot of compromised individuals whose salaries come from government and they can not be trusted to facilitate dialogue.

Commonwealth or the church are better positioned to lead the dialogue process.

    • The mayor of Lusaka is dead, and you are meeting discussing tribal bullshiit?? What kind of peace makers are you? Is it allowances?
UPND are wise enough to respect the dead.

    • If the Judiciary cannot be trusted for all the legal protections its officers have, what more someone who carries none? Good decision by the UPND. On current evidence, there is every reason to be suspicious. What sanctions is ZCID capable of imposing on whoever reneges on these resolutions? It’s a joke.

    • The race to be heard continues in Zambia and surpasses the capability for the Zambians to do anything for their motherland!

    • Who’s not compromised? Even yourself by attacking the meeting you’ve already taken sides. To me the whole thing about dialogue is a lot of nonsense. HH lost so does it mean when HH loses there should be dialogue? His MPs should just table the POA in parliament instead of staging useless walkouts.

    • Not the Universal Church please!!!. We know your plans ba UPND. You want to secretly fuse in the Universal Church into this process.

  2. What do we expect from UPND, its only confusion and rebellion. This is the waste party ever. The party that hates peace. I wonder why this party is still existing. Why not deregister it.

    • Ba Adviser
God help this nation.Maybe it is the word “..DIALOGUE..” that confuse you PF.It is simply about discussing, sharing ideas, sitting down with all stakeholders[whom you prefer to call opposition].This is the least that should be expected of leaders especially the President, this is an issue that should have been buried a year ago.Sadly and i believe i am right this must be the way the PF is running the nation in all sheres.Dialogue is not supposed to be an issue the issue should be what to be dialogue, this whole episode only exposes failure by government.

  3. This ZICD has suddenly found its feet after some prodding by lungu…..all the while there was prosecutions of the opposition they have been mere spectators ……..only the church and CW came in to speak up.

    • On Zambians should and not only on UPNDs terms. Therefore dialogue is need self agrandisment by UPND will take them nowhere. Remember Lungu can just ignore them and carry on without UPND as has done so far. After all they don’t recognize him. This is not about UPND but Zed

    • !mbecile @ 3.1

Do you bonehead arse l!cking and d!ck 5ucking uneducated member of PF “intelligentsia” understand meaning of “DIALOGUE”?

    • Just asking that’s the type of attitude by you people that scares me. Hakainde has expressed his opinion so instead of insulting him you should simply counter that. I forgot that all thinking in Upnd is a prerogative of HH the rest are only to insult under the command of GBM.

  4. Adviser,
Stop it please because you don’t seem to know and even understand what is going on..Don’t expose your ignorance here walasebana..

  5. LET THEM KEEP OFF. THEY ARE AWARE THAT SUCH A PROCESS WILL YIELD POSITIVE RESULTS AND PEOPLE WILL PRAISE ECL FOR FACILITATING THE PROCESS. AND THIS IS WHAT HURTS HH. UPND IS A PARTY WHICH BELIEVES IN “TUFILILE MU NSENGA”. ZAMBIA SHOULD MOVE ON WITHOUT THEM. EVEN IN CHILANGA , LETS MOVE ON WITHOUT THEM.

  6. need i say its not surprising any more the continued rebellion of the UPND to dialogue. we all saw this coming. their used to be a mad man who used to run in the great east road not so long ago. many had tried to seat him down, but after a while they had to let him run because to them he was mad, only the family remained to the end, whatever happened to that man only God knows, UPND party has proved with time that they are more than ready to support their leaders mentally challenged brain, HH is mentally challanged, thats why he was able to talk to Donald Trump, only mad people behave in such a way, but hagain his family the southerners see nothing wrong with them, this hagain reminded me of the man who used to run in great east road. im breaker im transcendent and i approve this message

  7. THEY WANT TO BE THE ONES CALLING THE SHOTS. THEY ONLY WANT THE MEETING TO BE HELD AT THEIR BEHEST AND ON THEIR TERMS. PLEASE IGNORE THEM. THEY WILL AGAIN CRY WHEN THE RESOLUTIONS OF THE MEETING BECOME BINDING, JUST AS WHAT HAPPENED WHEN THEY CAMPAIGNED AGAINST THE BILL OF RIGHTS. THE SAME RIGHTS THEY CAMPAIGNED AGAINST ARE THE RIGHTS THEIR LEADER WAS CRYING FOR WHEN HE WAS INCARCERATED.

  8. The ZCID has an organ that is comprised of political parties who amongst themselves select who heads this organ. For the past 7 years that honour has been upnd’s!!! It’s shocking how they can call the same institution they head as incapable or is this state of affairs vice versa???

  9. Bushe why has this issue of dialogue become so important in this kraal called Zambia?. You know, it is like every time you have misunderstand in your bedroom you always rush out calling others to come and tell you ‘how do it’ or ‘where to put it’. You mean them have no problems? Over 50 years of marriages nefishikulukulwa namukwata, you still want others to come and chair your ilyashi. Bushe ninshi mwalikwata amano. Awe mwachilamo no mungulu in this country. Wait a minute l become president that is when you will realise that stupidity has limits. There is nothing like bigger position or small opposite, they all matter. So, if one does not want to be part of the journey, leave him because time is of essence here. By the way dialogue about what?

  10. Interesting yet again about the UPND shooting themselves in the foot. I am a tonga ila lenje tabwa bemba. So what do you achieve by absconding the dialogue that you have been advocating for? So unless it’s under your own greedy terms as opposed to a sitting government and most Zambians? You want your foreign pay masters to come and solve intentenal Zambian issues that they barely understand? Who cares now because we are so fed up your opposition to even what you suggest. You can sit on the sides and we dont care any more. Just dont cry foul when resolutions are made minus you because you elected to stay away. Good luck.

  11. So why not attend the meeting and tell your colleagues clearly that (and why) you want a different institution to head the process. How do you dialogue by staying away?
Learn from Traditional leaders on land policy. They did not boycott but went to validation meeting, stated their position and we all heard them.

  12. Yes; ZCID is compromised; the church should lead the dialogue with Commonwealth & ZCID involved; UPND should now warn the Chinese; and others; that if they buy NRDC and Chichele Lodge; UPND will reverse the sale;

  13. Comment:I saw tewewe, muliokele, tayali ,sean tembo ,nakachinda and cosmo mumba a man who decided to faint, then I said this dialogue is going nowhere because it is under the leadership of surrogates.

  14. “Speaking when he officially opened the Stakeholders’ Summit in Lusaka, Justice Minister Given Lubinda said dialogue is key to resolving any conflicts and that it does not matter who leads the process” WHY DIDN’T YOU SUPPORT THE EFFORTS BY THE COMMONWEALTH IF IT DOES NOT MATTER WHO LEADS THE PROCESS? YOU HYPOCRITES!!! LUNGU DID NOT ATTEND THE COMMONWEALTH MEETING RECENTLY IN LONDON FOR FEAR OF BEING QUESTIONED ABOUT TALKS.

  15. Don’t worry HH dreamed he had a private consensus with the minister of justice where they dialogued. ….what’s the point of this Indaba. ?

  16. IT IS VERY CLEAR THAT THE PROBLEM WITH UPND IS NOT DIALOGUE. THE PROBLEM IS THE HUMILIATING DEFEAT THAT THEY SUFFERED IN 2016. UPND MUST ALWAYS SHOW THAT “THEIR VOTES WERE STOLEN”, OTHERWISE THEY HAVE TO RETURN THE MONEY TO CAMBRIDGE ANALYTICA THEIR FUNDERS. THE COUNTRY MUST MOVE ON AND NOT BE DRAGGED BY A PARTY WITH SUPPORT FROM ONLY 3.5/10 PROVINCES. EVEN THE SUPPORTERS OF UPND DO NOT KNOW WHERE HH IS TAKING THEM. IF HE DECIDES TO JOIN THE MEETING THEY WILL SUPPORT HIM, AND IF HE DECIDES TO ABSCOND THEY WILL SUPPORT HIM. THEY DONT KNOW WHAT HIS NEXT MOVE WILL BE. THEIRS IS TO FOLLOW THE LEADER. WHAT A PITY.

  17. ZCID should have stood strong yesterday to say what they want done…..but they spoke like government emissaries……its true they have no capacity………

  18. BA UPND MUKALILA BAFIKHALA NABA FHINYHO. YOU WILL HAVE YOURSELVES TO BLAME BECAUSE YOU HAVE EVERYTHING TO LOSE WHILE PF WHO ARE SO FLEXIBLE WILL HAVE EVERYTHING TO GAIN. YOU WILL WEEP…………………..WHAT IS SPECIAL ABOUT YOU PERPETUAL LOSERS, YOU WANT EVERY BODY TO BE DANCING TO YOU SOUNDLESS MUSIC? YOU WILL CRY………………………………

  19. UPND must learn to adapt and employ relevant strategies to suit the situation. On this one they have shot themselves in the foot. It appears all the UPND members serve at the pleasure of their supreme leader HH.
At this rate they should be ready to escort another party in 2021 for swearing ceremony, and gain a place in Guines Book of Records.

  20. UPND have got a point here. Let the CW mediate the dialogue. I don’t see the competence in the ZCID in handling this matter. We need a body that will come up with enforceable sanctions should any party be arrogant, whether PF or UPND. ZCID is not able to say anything that can make a difference. We might as well abandon the who dialogue process and concentrate on something more important.

  21. Imwe ba fikala,The commonwealth have biased position championed by the ex-colonial masters who have gone brexit in order to make unhindered unilateral moves to claim back overseas territories they once colonized. The harbor nostalgia of their brutish colonial past when they oppressed and brutalized the indigenes or natives in their ex- colonial territories as they have realized that the Chinese are colonizing them. Yes the Chinese are welcome with their unconditional assistance and knowledge transfer which the British denied the Africans in order to perpetuate illiteracy and conditions of poverty and squalor. Their intentions was to make sure that Africans in particular realize that they made a deep blunder by clamoring and acquiring independence from the oppressors and slave drivers so…

  22. My late grand father used to tell me that there’s a difference between going to school and education. I can add there’s a difference between being rich and wealth.
