Chief government spokesperson Ronnie Shikapwasa says the ruling Movement for Multi Party Democracy (MMD ) has done great work with its good polices in ensuring that they better the lives of the Zambian people in the country.

Lieutenant General Shikapwasa said it is unfortunate for Chief Bright Nalubamba to continue despising president Banda’s government that it will not win the 2011 elections because of the current mismanagement of the economy.

General Shikapawasha, who is also information and Broadcasting minister, said the MMD government has in several times of difficulties helped the people of Southern province with relief food including country wide.

He told ZANIS in an interview in Lusaka today, that Chief Nalubmaba should appreciate that government has provided a lot of developmental progarmmes in his area such as building of schools, health centre’s ,Cattle Restocking and infrastructure roads among others.

General Shikapwahsa said there is need for Chief Nalubamba as a traditional ruler to promote reconciliation to all Zambians.

The government spokesperson also advised traditional leaders in the country not engage themselves in politics adding that government expects them to help explain government polices to their subjects.

General Shikapwasha however pointed out that government respects Traditional leaders, who in turn respect their political leaders.

He however, noted that the MMD government has transformed Zambia adding that many people have thanked government for improving their lives in the country.

And commenting on United Party for National Development UPND’ president Hikainde Hichilema‘s recent remarks that president Banda had failed to discipline Energy Minister Kenneth Koanga, General Shikapwasha said MMD is a government of laws that looks at one potential not injustices.

The Minister said the energy Minister has worked hard as a Minister in charge of energy adding that issue of shortage of fuel was not caused by him but the catalytic components which had broken down at Indeni petroleum refinery in Ndola.

He noted that the problem had also been compounded by the closure of the refinery for its routine maintenance

The country experienced a shortage of fuel for two weeks.

  1. You see it may come as great surprise why this chief is so against this government. For those who do not follow correctly, this Chief history is as scandarous as it gets, there is no way a normal Chief in the present day and age, can agree to sell his own people’s land at the expense of his people’s livelihood, and well being. Fortunately for the people of his area, simple men stood up against him, and that was how government realised that the deal was infact beneficial to him alone as Chief. Chief’s like him have no shame, for a few years he was too embarassed to even utter a word, now once again he is back in the midist of it, trying to side with the PACT, at the expense of the pacts popularity in his chiefdom. The PACT should handle this chief with impunity, A devil is what he is!!!

  2. I have been informed that the individuals who protected these people are the indegenous rights committee which is headed by Chizuka, that is how, HH adopted him for Namwala constituency, because he was very popular, fighting for the people.

  3. There you go again Shikapwasha when you had Chitimukulu campaigning for the MMD candidate in Kasama and his racial remarks he made against Guy Scott that was not a chief engaging in politics and there was nothing you said against that because it fitted you. Now because Chief Nalubamba is showing you that you are jokers you are already calling him names. Let Shikapwasha know that these double standards are not needed and thats why you have destroyed this country. Come 2011 you guys in MMD are all gone!!!

  4. Chitimukulu..its okey…….. Nalubamba……. inchi chabipa. Say what u want Chief Nalubamba its your time now and for the right cause

  5. In democracy Nalubamba should not be attacked. Chiti & Mpezeni both comapined openly for RB and there was no complaint.

I differ with Shika as follows:
    1. We are seeing more corruption now than before. The husband steals and gives property to wife – you find wife gulity but husband innocent.
    2. The govt. is reactive and not proactive – why wait for animals to die and waste resources to restock. Where are the Vets to implement preventive measures.
    3. Why did it take so long to realise that fuel crisis is roaming?
    4. In short is there any full proof startegic planning?????

  6. When people call people like Shikapwa.. mad, they are actually right. If you come to thinkof it, there is no way one can be so irrational that he cant see that he is compromised over his blind support of MMD. Even if you are getting something, surelly would you go to this extent of foolishness were I think even your children start noticing that dad just yarps. Dont tell me you people did not get enough money from ZAF to support you rather than really reduce your selves to such levels or unknown things. Mulongotiii is the same , what is the problem kanshi

  7. These are some of the most unreasoned out statements I have ever seen. How can this man say ” MMD government has in several times of difficulties helped the people of Southern province with relief food” as if he used MMD money. And why is it considered as help when it is the duty of government to serve its people. Are they not Zambians? These people are renown for hardwork. They normally feed themselves but roads that existed before MMD was born are now almost nonexistent in most of Southern province. Cattle restocking is a result of failed MMD agricultural policies. Thosands of animals died unnecessarily – no vets. On Indeni, why should routine (expected) maintenance shutdown come as a surprise to this government?

  8. Shika, could you please remind us of your – MMD”s – “good” policies and how we have benefited from them? And IF we have, don’t you think we could benefit even more if the money stolen by your fomer boss could be recovered and pumped into NRDC (does it still exist?), UNZA, Scientific Research and our hospitals? Do you ever look yourself in the mirror at night and say, “Hey, what am I doing, telling so many lies every day?” Do you believe in God? If so, which God? The Lord of the Liars? Lihata, does your family ever advise you to SHUT UP?

  9. Ba Mulenga # 2 & 3 I am sorry to say you are miss informed. I happen to come from there in Village Makaba Chief Nalubamba. Nalumba at no any time did he want to sell any part of his land. He with his Mbeza Development Committee wanted to develop part of the wetlands into a wheat outgrowers scheme supported by a foreign investors. I tell you this would have been the best project to enhance household economic empowerment of the people of mbeza if it was allowed to bear fruit. The problem Chuzyuka had was that this project was next to the area he puts his cattle for gazing what we call KUWILA in Tonga. This would have ment him fencing his area. Thats how he blew a whistle and gunned support from the people against the Chief. It was all for Chizyuka’s personal interest.

  10. # 14, you are right! The same thing happened in Chief Mwanachingwala’s area. Some investors (WWF) wanted to develop the wetlands along the Fafue Flats but this was met with opposition from the locals because of “kuwila”, and everything was politicized at the end of the day. The result? The locals remained suffering up to this day. As for # 2 & 3, it’s like you are not conversant with what is happening here in Zed. Where are you and what are you doing there? Look, no one has reduced poverty here in Zed. the only thing they are trying to do is to distribute it evenly, and it’s tough going for them. Whatever they have done so far is as a result of our money. Hey, wake up man (or woman).

  11. #14and15 assuming you are one person, If you really say you are from that area, my understanding is those people have a lot of cattle, why would a cheif want to bring in wheat growing, when your people are pastarol, why didnt the chief bring in something inline with what his people do. Cattle, for example, in Bostwana has a lot revenue, why cant the chief bring projects that would enhance cattle export e.You say empowering the people, now tell mr Muchendo, what empowerment will people really benefit from wheat growing, look at the mines where I come from, the only mine area today that can say has benefited the people is Lumwana, because, the people have royalties. That wheat project you say was a scum created for the benefit of the chief, alone. YOU SHOULD BE THE ONE TO WAKE UP!

  12. One more point big man muchendo, would it be reasonable, for a chief in the copperbelt to say people, burry these mine with sand, lets grow wheat over them, honestly do you think as an educated and well informed man that you are, would possibly agree to that, no you wouldnt, for that reason, those people, to continue to provide us with the Tbone we enjoy, need a place for their millions of cattle to graze not so Muchendo. Hence cheif was probably stepping on the people toes. These Chiefs in Zambia, are people too who can be easily bribed big man, am sure you can reason better than you are potraying here. I dont think this cheif near the pact, is anyhting to be proud of, he is no good Muchendo, look at it objectively, not with personal interests!

  13. This is rubbish coming from the fake pastor shikapwasha. What does he want Chief Nalubamba to do? To sing praises for MMD like CHitimukulu did even when his subjects are living in abject poverty? Shikapwasha and your MMD-thieves, are you not the guys who paraded the chiefs in chitambo who blindly praised MMD and told their subjects to vote for MMD? To you this is good coz the chiefs are blindly supporting the useless MMD, but when the chiefs support the opposition then it becomes an issue. What d.u.i.i creatures you are !!!!!!!!
