  1. Nice first move from Zambia and a decent shot on target, but the lions have been attacking ..still a nervous affair and my knees are all over the place.

  2. Whever droped Tana should be hanged, have you seen your defenders, they are running kwati masaka yamalasha. And PP is just sitting there like all is well, he has no ability to read the game. The boys are playing with no plan.

  3. Oh how we need taller defenders…I wish the forwards would do more running into the penalty area rather than shooting from way out.

  4. Well it’s half time and tough one ..as I said we had a chance if we had survived 30 minutes we had a chance but well we did not and This is now a big hole to get out of. We really need to find or develop defenders. The defense has been largely at fault here

  5. The defence is a disgrace! The guys are too slow and as highlighted 3 weeks ago J. Musonda is a liability. We aren’t marking and the chaps and even when they make simple runs we are losing them. Do we go for goals or try to keep the score at 3?

  6. All three goals were bad defensive mistakes…It should be 0-0. You don’t tackle from behind, especially just outside the penalty area. Phiri should’ve cracked down on this already. Then the two other goals, despite the defenders mis-judging the ball, who was marking the scorers?? These are basic errors…not that Cameroon are better.

  7. What a disastrous first half !!!I’m not being cynical but Tana’s presence at the back would have made a difference.Right now our defence seems to be very porous.IT’s going to take a miracle for us to even manage to get a draw,at least.Nomba ulya Chamanga efyo abutuka filya?

  8. According to Clemens Westerhoff’s comments, he says the goalkeeper is responsible for organising the defence by shouting instructions. But yes, we knew the Tana dropping would come back to bite.

  9. Let’s now stop hopping to win this match and start calcuting the probability and possibility of our qualification from the group stages.

  10. look at the guys what are the doing now it looks like the dont no what to do any more this is the waste we are now getting.

  11. We have had a good spell, but we need to no goal to show for it Chamanga out and Nsusu in ..but we in more trouble 4-0. Its a rout

  12. As was expected!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just as we as a nation are inconsistent in managing all our affairs, is exactly what these boys are doing in the field right now!!! Let them come home and Pliz BaPhiri ba coach, you may be dressed in the suit, but look at the other coaches, they don’t sit down like they have already won the game…. Get up and coach. Go back home guys and just stop embarassing us

  13. Could this have to do with guys in FAZ trying to pocket some of the win bonus that was suppose to go for the boys. They each were offered $500 less than agreed on. Maybe the boys are “protesting”.

  14. I think the frontline has not been good either. They have just been missing a lot of good chances. To win we need to take our chances and as bad as the defence is the frontline has not helped either. I think midfield has done a good job in taking the boy to the guys in front..we can build from here I think

  15. I’m praying for Egypt to lose or draw so that we can have a clear opportunity of winnig Egypt and qualify.I’m optimistic.

  16. Iwe Pacifist, get real my fríend, do you think Zambia deserves a place in the quater finals with this kind of football? Its an insult to the game having teams like Zambia there, they should just be playing COSAFA. Iam praying that Egypt can beat them by 10-0, maybe you Zambians will learn to be serious with development and preparations.

  17. Cameroon were embarassed to score that 5th goal…that is just comical. After all that good work in the last 15 mins…The whole defence needs to be changed. Even the U20 team defence was better. This is a disgrace.

  18. I’m realy conviced that the defence is below par.The defenders they are to blame. There is no scape_goat.They are fully accountable.

  19. It’s not about money($500) it’s just that we really had no defense to talk about and everyone knew that I guess it’s back to the drawing board..at least we know where are people. These boys are still young and we can build here am sure. This was expected, I guess that is why the LT analysis described Zambia’s last game as awlful. anyway it’s now 5-1

  20. Viva 47, Zambia needs to be beaten even 15 – 0. So that it is banned from the Africa cup of Nations. It needs a break just life the fields of Chitemene, it needs a rest. Defense kwati ni netball!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  21. I feel sorry for Chris Katongo…he has worked so hard an done well, just for most of his team mates to let him down. I think it is better to lose by a large margin, because then something can be done. I cannot remember any country’s national team defending this badly.

  22. u soccer fan, howmany times has it been said that we can pick up from there?? When will that ever be?? Just like the economy, it wil pick, nomba just ………….

  23. Atleat our strikers are creating chances and are causing panic in the cameron defense but our defence is very weak. All goals are because of defense errors. 5-1

  24. Heads never roll in Zambia. Look at the power blackout!!!! Lets just nurse this humiliation in silence. Cabipa mwee, as if its a funeral, owe mayo mayoooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nway, at least we have 4 goals in the tournament so far.

  25. lets see what happens. but guys, in 2007, the world is moving ahead. we can not be stuck in the 90’s with no proper soccer administration, just the same corrupt amateurs running things. i mean, maybe Zimbabwe should have been there instead of us. Lets see what ajustments we make before the Egypt game.

  26. Usually I am sad when Zambia loses, that’s by a goal maybe in a tight match. This is the first time I’m actually angry. Phiri said he was working on the defence. Either nothing was done or the players are not listening. How many thumpings does it take to realise SIMPLE mistakes that need fixing?

  27. defencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefencedefence.

  28. Don’t blame the players, Don’t blame Patrick Phiri, this goes right back to heart of everyone responsible for football in Zambia. They do have the potential, but of course our downfalls were laid to bare by the Lions. We are right in supporting, believing they would do well and we are also right knowing they would beaten. Don’t anyone come here and say “I TOLD YOU SO”. it is to easy to do that, we all knew what could happen, it did not stop some of supporting.

  29. brilliant

    am happy that Zambian lost

If it had won a lot of beer’s would have been downed in turn leading to moral degradation and domestic violence.

Thank you so much useless team

  30. Now as typical zambians i anticipate the blame game

Its always someone’s fault but nobody ever accepts the team is always been a rubbish one.

    Viva cameroun

  31. I want a refund of our $2500 from the defence!

What I am annoyed at is that we all knew that the defence was poor from the warm-up matches. I remember reporting on the Morocco game and mentioning the Nketani, Hachilensa and Musonda were poor. Then we witnessed the Sudan game and we all said again the defence was suspect. Now if we can see the shortcomings why can’t PP and the rest of the coaching staff?

  32. The defense has been a let down and I don`t think that there was anything that the coach could do about such poor concentration.Tactically Zambia was sperior but the defense lost concentration at crical moments of the game. There have been times when teams like Man U have lost not because of poor coaching but the players inability to execute.Give PP a break on this one.
    Otherwise,we`re down but not out.

  33. In Zambia we have a serious problem, I don’t even know where to start, Iam just too angry, I feel like killing the whole FAZ administration. The next thing you will hear is that Gvt is appointing a committee to investigate what went wrong when they know exactly what went wrong. Nganali indoshi ngamwamona lelo

  34. The score line (5-1 iye tata !) is actually not a rue reflection of the game. I think Zambia played well but did not take their chances. Cameroon were on the back peddle most of the time but they did not make mistakes where as Zambia made 7 mistakes and Cameroon capitalized on 5 of those mistakes in the Zambia defence.. actually our defence was worse than they were in the first game

  35. #39, word up, thats what its all about!
Optimists, pull out yo calculators mutwebeko…
I told u that we are going nowhere….
Bola yama calculator lyonse is not the way forward. Lets just accept that we’re being silly by hoping to succeed with our hands down, invest in sport and all will be fine. We keep on bullshitting like this and our soccer woes will follow us to our individual graves.
Egypt and Cameroon are beating Sudan, and we’re being wired by Egypt.

  36. Yes, this is not a blame game, as we knew what the problems were already. Its just annoying that nothing has been done about it. Again I say, how can the U20 have a decent defence and not the national team? All you need is a decent defence, doesn’t have to be spectacular.

  37. Yeah, viva refunds from the defence as well as the FAZ administration. Let FAZ pay back to the Zambian government what it has been paid so far in allowances as well as all expenses!! This is broader day light theft of public resources. Zambia is ranked 165 of the about 170poor countries in the world, and yet we can afford to spend money like this. Nkashi mwendoshi what are you doing about this?? This is were u need to strike!!!!!!!!!!

  38. The naivety in the defense and midfield was evident for all in the first game , midfield was slightly better but inuma yena awe mayo bwafya…..however if you think about it you’ll see that we had no options in the back four…i agree Tana’s absence had an impact.

Sad thing is it will get worse with Egypt. There is a high probability that our run ends today…… cabipa!

  39. #76 what do you mean Zambia played well? Don’t be like PP! Tha was the worst game I have seen Zambia play in yrs. At that level, such mistakes are unacceptable. PP should step down, so should the who FAZ. I can only single out one player who seemed to be committed “Felix katongo” The boy is briliant.

  40. ya kwena, i expected that Camroun would give us a tough time, i just didnt expect our defence to gift them the game. They only scored one credible goal, which was the first goal. the rest were just gifts from our inexperienced defenders, and what woeful gifts they were!!! Guys, what next???? Can we dare to dream about beating egypt? our strikers werent that bad and our midfeild has quite tenacious.

  41. awe bati chabipa ama boys, zoona eh bolla ilya sure!awe mwandi kuti wakwata na bp.hands up to chris katongo, the guy has the talent.

nabalubana fye ama boyz.we should just pack and go home because this is a disgrace

  42. Guys, there are better players sitting on the bench. Look how Himonde played when he came on. What do we do for the next game? I say we play the youngsters Himonde, Mayuka, Njovu, Kasonde, Mulenga, Felix, Rainford, Sunzu, Chinyama.

The defence is the same that played at the last ACN and look what happend there, we need some new blood.

  43. Dreaming about beating Egypt is the worst thing you can do to yourself. Cameroun are not a good side, we handed them the game, they could not ven believe it themselves, thats why they didn’t even celebrate each time they scored. I can asure you, Egypt will be extra too much for our pathetic team coz they are faster and cleverer.

  44. Even the first goal was a defensive error (tackle from behind when not required). Mweene didn’t organise the wall properly and there was a nice hole for experience Geremi to exploit. But the other goals were gifts, very cheap gifts I might add.

  45. I get dissapointed by people who like to give up,you just don’t cut and run,we have to stay and learn so the next time we can do better.Football is life and has to grow. Iam happy Zambia is representing at AFCON despite todays perfomance. Viva Zambia.

  46. The Sudanese are playing!! But even if they do us a favour I can’t see our boys beating the Egyptians with that defence

  47. OK, i have got my calculator out; in the unlikely event that we beat Egypt, we may still not go through when Cameroun wallop Sudan… according to my calculations the best permutation of results for us is for Sudan to beat Egypt so that the two teams that win the last games go thru….hoping we will be one of them…Problem is the probability of such a permutation of outcomes is very small!

  48. Londani #89, the problem is that we don’t learn. As mentioned before this defence is the same one that we had at the last competition. There are better players in our team, but they aren’t being played.

  49. #66ZamCan, You make a good point about football being stuck in the 90’s. It’s time to wake up, from the start, produce well trained footballers, psychologically, physically, technically… Invest in Teaching/Coaching/Training… ACON08 is over, no one should be worried about Egyt. Every african team wants SA2010, I’ll be back on this blog “talkng” after ACON because it is crucial FAZ now does the right thing.

  50. Lets hope the guys on the bench are given a chance. Lets not worry about permutations and combinations to get through to the QF. I’m more concerned about:

    1. Saving face in the next game by not conceding silly goals
    2. Fixing the defence for the beginning of WC qualifiers

  51. Defence, defence, defence, defence…was very bad. The Lions were not that good up front. They just managed to pick free, weak rolling balls in the defence. Defence, defence defence..very weak….Can someone tell PP to do something in the next game.

  52. They played like gay boys. If this is really about money then none of them deserve to be there in the first place. I hope Egypt murders them. Indeed Cameroon 5 Zambia 0 Christopher Katongo 1.

  53. Oh no, penalty to Egypt… Hosny scores.

Anyway, I think that we seriously need to look at the coaching of our young players in Zambia. I don’t think the basics of the game are being imparted on them. With all the academies around we should be producing better quality than we are, but the coaching is poor.

Also, on Eurosport they interviewed F. Katongo after the game and he basically said the defence messed it up for us. I wonder if there’ll be a rift in the team?

  54. This is the worst team i have seen pa Zed. The defence was horrible and they couldn’t communicate with the Keeper. The keeper was as well rubbish for he kept on leaving the goal post to go and defend, why? The Coach is a disgrace in every aspect. He sat on his arse the whole 90mins when his counterpart was mostly on the touch line giving instructions!!! What an arse of a national team!!! These dickheads need to be fired!

  55. Half time. Egypt 1-o Sudan.

Strangely, I’m supporting Sudan can you you imagine? All just to make the mathematics easier for the worst defending team in the universe – Zambia.

  56. The boys are young. Am hopeful they’ll learn from this experience. I have great admiration and respect for Chris Katongo as a leader. let’ be positive, even though it’s difficult. They gave it everything. It’ not easy playing against Cameroon

  57. I haven’t watched Zambia in a few years until now. One thing that has been good is our good defending. What has happened? Like someone pointed out, the score was not a true reflection of the game although Cameroun seemed much much better due to their composure. I don’t understand why Zambia did not take advantage of their speed upfront. Anytime you score, it changes the reflection on the game. I hope PP is technically astute to get the boys ready for the next game.

  58. I’ve just finished watching the game highlights over and over.
What cost us the game is our defences failure to clear the ball and so the Cameroon strikers found balls that Bambuya bakazi can score namabele.
Missing in football is a basic that you learn in the chimpombwa days and so this shouldnt be Phiri’s fault I dont think so.
Phiri has our best players with just maybe one exception,Tana.
We also failed to execute the few chances that came our way.
Just like the Sudan game,we executed th

  59. Continuation
    Sudan didnt execute.
I dont wanna watch the Egypt game because they are so much better in every side of the ball and the execute deadly.

  60. For anyone to suggest that the coach had little fault in the atrocious diplay and hence the humiliation is unconscionable

  61. …..well there is a small chance against Egypt even with our pathetic defense; but then we need to make sure that our strikers don’t waste any chances.. if Egypt score 10 we should score 11.If our back line is that bad i think we should try to defend by attacking all out – leave out 2 or three defenders and replace with Kalaba and Kampamba….

  62. Take it from me the boys were not good enough. The better team won. Take time to review the game and you will see what I mean. Analyse the game that is what will help, put aside emotion. Sudan was an easy game and perhaps our boys were too confident. We will be playing the champions next and if the kind of football I saw is anything to go buy, our boys will not have a chance!
The good thing though is that we scored 1 rather than walk away with a nil.

  63. LONDANI USA! WE NOT IN GHANA TO REPRESENT, BUT TO PLAY SOCCER AND WIN GAMES? GET IT…!PEOPLE’S MONEY IS BEING SPENT/WASTED WHAT EVER? OUR GENERATION SHALL PASS WITHOUT OUR TEAM WINNING A MAJOR CUP? OUR TEAM IS SUCH A JOKE? THIS WILL MARK THE END OF SOME YOUNG CAREERS AS THEY WILL GET EXICTED WITH THE DOLLAR THEY HAVE EARNED. ASK TENANT, EVANS SAKALA, PERRY MUTAPA AND BIG LITANA? NO FOCUS NO DEDICATION ON THEIR PART. I SUPPORT THE GOVT FOR NOT BAILING OUT ZNBC…WASTE OF MONEY?

  64. Now if you salute the government for not bailing out ZNBC,it means you’re not thinking of the ordinary Zambian whose only chance to watch the game is through ZNBC.
Soccer brings families and friends together.
You’re in the States. You can watch anything you want but think of the people there.
The same government you’re supporting is the same Government putting tax payers money in the wrong places.
Look at Ghana, they can host the nations cup and guess how much that will bring in when the tourn

  65. Continuation.
When the tourney is long over with Ghanas economy will be smiling for decades to come because of the same tournament.

  66. Probability continues to diminish as Egypt goes 3 up over Sudan… obviously this game is over for Sudan. Zambia can still go through if the following events occur :Sudan beats Cameroun by at least 4 unanswered goals and Zambia loses by only a goal against Egypt, OR Zambia beat Egypt by an avalanche of goals and Cameroun do not score more than a goal against Sudan…….very low probabilities indeed!

  67. With the thumping of Sudan by Egypt, we might as well pack in advance coz I don’t think Cameroon can lose to Sudan.

  68. Well, if Cameroun beat Sudan and we beat Egypt, we will be level on six points which would bring it down to goal difference.Mathematically, the only team that has been eliminated is Sudan…..so lets keep those calculators on. As i said if i was PP, i would go for an out attack against Egypt

  69. one thing i can promise everyone is that zambia cant beat egypt. thats a fact from our defence point of view. WE ARE OUT. DONT GIVE YOURSELFS HOPE FOR DISAPPOINTMENTS. WE CANT DO ANYTHING!!!!!!!!

  70. Well #126, its not a certainty that Egypt will beat Zambia though there is a highly probability…… but it is just that a probability and that is why we are doing all the calculations

  71. Na mumfwa?

    NAMIBIA APPROACHED TO FIX MATCH

Somebody offered the Namibian players $30,000 each to throw their game against Guinea on Mondey. The players however went and told their coach right away. Ya, icalo nacafya.

I hope our boys won’t fall prey to such.

  72. #114 MOB JUSTICE, So who do you say Zambia is representing? The boys are there to REPRESENT Zambia not Chamboli. They worked hard, qualified and deserve to be there. Also, I don’t know the world you are living in if you think Money is not a factor in Sport. The boys deserve their money be it in millions, their behavior shouldn’t hinder them from getting what they deserve,,,ninzelu zamfedulo izo.

  73. Bola bola… Kwena balatukwa abaiche!! Please guys, this is just a game. Avoid ukufula Ba Teddy Mulonga and PP. Last week you were drinking your heads off, today you turn life bees. Honest speaking Cameroon is a world class team! Count how many high class players they have, plus their experience. If Zambia keeps the current for another 5 years, the team will be as strong as Cameroon or Ivory Coast.

  74. Yes i agree with wibilima. Our team is not a world class team. We are always getting rid of good players over stupid mistakes and there is almost always a new team each season. The promises made to them are not even met.People at the top should learn to keep their promises. I have noticed we do not have patriotism over our own country men, there is always a loser and a winner in a game and you will comes out on the other end sometimes, but lets not forget our how it feels to lose, when we win.

  75. the chipopolopolo could have won had it not for the dollar dollar bills yall???????
faz administration in zambia has no plan for our national team .all those guys atr football house are just there for employment and not for the benefit of our country..
the next AGM ..they should elect anif adams ..the guy is a long time footbala administator..
kalu is egualing eccampable of leading faz… he is just a good retired footballer..his time is long gonne..
kalu can just be a vice.

  76. The solution for this loss is for Mwanawasa and his Cabinet to resign.First, it was the NCC, then the Floods and now Zambia National Team loses.Mwanawasa should be ashamed and just resign.Twala imya aka wele.Mwanawasa must GO!

  77. Remember what Mobutu did when the Zaire leopards were clobbered 11-0 by Yugoslavia in the 1974 world cup? Took away the houses and cars they had been given. Are you listening LPM?

  78. I thought after seeing one of our defenders concede a penalty in the preparatory match by tackling from behind, the coach and the team had learned a lesson! They never did! Second, none of our old defenders John Kalusa, Mordon, Fighton, Ackim, Jack Simbule, “Yellowman,” Kapambwe ever played like that. That is really a shame. Third, players need also to use “common sense” which I believe is lacking in our team. Level of education should be a factor in selection since standard of education may

  79. be helpful for players to think in crucial encounters. We had intelligent players and I wish we could have some now. Lastly, the technical input is lacking. No team at a crucial stage as this could blow a 3-0 advantage in less than 30 minutes, and go on to lose the top slot! We need to inject money in sports and stadia construction before we become a laughing stock. This is a shame. Shame on the govt official that said there was no need to erase Independence stadium for a new one. Leaders

  80. Good attacking football cost Zambia their defence. Let’s look at the positives and learn from the mistakes from the Cameroon game. Phiri (the coach) should find a balance.

I listened to the Norwegian commentator on Eurosport and I couldn’t agree with him more: ‘If you don’t look at the defence frailties, Zambia are a top team!’. Let’s be tight at the back, against Egypt, the goals will always come.
Come on you Zambians, you can do it!

  81. Its really strange guys, but having watched the game I was not dissappointed. Cameroun never came at as us like a man u or arsenal can. Our keeper had no save to make except pick the ball up from the net. REASON WE LOST IS WE JUST CAN’T DEFEND. THIS IS WORST ZAMBIAN DEFENCE IN HISTORY. IWAS SO EMBARRASSED, BASIC SCHOOL BOY ERRORS. THE ONLY WAY WE MAKE THE NEXT ROUND IS 1,MIRACLES DO HAPPEN 2, HICHANI HIMONDE, CHINTU KAMPAMBA AND FRANCIS KASONDE MUST PLAY. 3, ZAMBIA MUST GO ALL OUT ATTACK FOR

  82. Zambian Team – Thanks for the match -fear of trying is an invitation for failure. You won against Sudan and you’ve lost to Cameroon. We were happy but now disappointed but this is only a game. We still stand and support you as our team, so next time make us proud and Never give up. If a fellow zambian thinks this is a shame – Please-Show me what you gat!

  83. A GOAL AVALANCHE 3, PHIRI MUST BE BRAVE ENOUGH TO CHANGE THAT DEFENCE AND QUICKLY AS SOMEONE POINTED OUT. IF HE COULD LEAVE OUT TANA I BELIEVE HE CAN CHANGE THAT DEFENCE. ITS UPTO HIM. MY HEART SAYS WE ARE OUT, BUT MY MIND WANTS TO BELEIVE THERE IS A MIRACLE WAITING TO HAPPEN, BUT ONLY IF WE DO THE ABOVE. WHATEVER HAPPENS ZAMBIA MUST BEAT EGYPT FULL STOP. LETS KEEP BELIEVING Y’ALL. VIVA ZAMBIA!!!!

  84. These chaps must be searched on return.Their allowances must be commuserate with the cash in hand. They have sold the match!!Abash Mulonga, Phiri and Pandor.

  85. Hahaha, So ba Zambia you expected to beat Cameroon ne team lyenu? C’mon guys be real. Zambia was not just a good team by accident, the ZCCM (through sports funding) had a good programs at different age groups. that strategy trickled down to the National team. That was why, regardless of having say a single professional, we could always reach the semis. Lesson 1: If you do not plan, dont expect to perform. Lesson 2: If you do not implement your plans, forget about success.

  86. I strongly disagree that the attacking football cost Zambia their defence!! Attack is the best form of defence. It is mind-boggling that you can make so many mistakes in one match. Granted even the best defenders make silly mistakes once in a while, but not in a single match! I just hope they didn’t throw the game, with all this talk of bribery.

  87. There is no such a thing as natural skille, or, luck in modern sports. Everything has to be meticulously planned for, and (you got it) implemented. In Zambia, we have developed a tendancy of praying for things we well know God will not certainly drop from heaven. Forget about 2010 – we should have started football academies in 2004 if we were to have a team for 2010. From chipolopolo to chipantepante, not by accident, but by lack of action. Mwasebaneni bane!!

  88. I think if the majority of the U20 team are groomed properly, then we have a slim chance for 2010. Remember even if we have a very good team, 2010 is still difficult to achieve, let alone with a poor defence. But you’re right, investment needs to be made at the youth level, and this definitely include nutrition, physical and mental training from a young age.

  89. THE PARROTING DID NOT PAY. The defense was porous and i really miss at this time WATIYAKENI AND YELLOW MAN IN DEFENSE.
    God bless ZZZZZZZZZZZZ.

  90. 4get about everything, zambia ni ma cooler, the defence is bullshit, even chiparamba boys can play better. they were scared of name s and already lost the game psychologically before it started, MBUZIIIIIIIIIIII za kwa mandevu zikudya mu chishala. malabishi, katayeni mu chimbuzi…..get ready to go home. BA CHIMBWI, Mwadaya Nsima ya ma offals na tobwa na mponda na mutambe ati mukateye na cameroon? MULOTA? ALA, im so dissappointed. UNDISPUTED, SIGNING OUT!

  91. Guys, i just woke up after a very fitful sleep. I had a nightmare last night that zambia had been thrashed 5-1! actually the dream was that our defenders thrashed our hard-working strikers! Oh, wait a minute, its actually true! This was an awful display of our defensive inadequacies. PP SHOULD have known better, this has been a problem from day one, he just sat there throughout our dismembering by the lions, without kicking some butts! I AM ANGRY, VERY ANGRY!!!! its fine to lose when

  92. ctd. its acceptable to lose when the other team fought hard to win, but to lose like this is to trivialise the hard work of the frontmen and make our team look second-rate! All of us, PP, Tana and our ineffective defenders that assisted cameroun. At this level of football, mistakes, especially stupid ones are heavily punished by embarassing scorelines! LETS plan better for egypt, BA PP!

  93. Shame. Can somebody tell me what Mulonga has done to this team? He is the Prez..and these are his results. He should gives us a report before the next game. And PP should as well give us an apology and tell us honestly why he left out Tana. Mulonga has overstayed. We need fresh blood in management to recoup our Chipolopolo Boys. 1-5 is not a good loss. It is as if they where bribed to lose the march. Mulonga has lost it. PP also has a long way in coaching without fear or favour.Tana was a must.

  94. Imwe guys, our defence was so porous and a big let down to the hardworking midfield and frontline. This is where you miss the services of Sichone, Sinkala, and perhaps Tana. With such a thrashing, we can safely say we are out coz there is no way Sudan will clobber Cameroon and we’re joking if we think we can hammer Egypt!

  95. chromosomes think these are league games, this is the africa cup!!!, you find experienced players from everywhere, and who are we today to come and say we don’t need people with such resumes. i guess its a zambian thing, we never learn, i hope this doesn’t continue, we have had enough of this in politics.

  96. There has been reports of match fixing involving the Namibian and Benin Teams. Maybe our boys could have been influenced somehow to throw away the match and get extra cash coz the game we played does reflect the score line honestly.

  97. camerun didnt score a goal in that game its the zed defenders who were firing in their net. thats tantamount to match fixing.

  98. #166, there is always a chance of that, but I can’t imagine someone crazy enough to spend money to make Zambia lose the game against Cameroon when all the odds were already against us. Let’s reflect, did Zambia really make sufficient preparations for this ACN to raise the hope of so many people who are dissapointed? I think not. Its more a sign of expecting to reap whre you did not sow. We should believe less in miracles and more in the long-term investment in the sport.

  99. Alright! we can still go to the quarter finals, its not like our fate is out of our hands; if we beat Egypt we will be level with them on six points…. only we need to beat their goal difference – this is possible if we beat them by a margin of 3 goals – Regardless of the result in the Cameroun Sudan game. For this reason we need to continue supporting the Chipolopolo who put up a good performance against Cameroun only to be let down by a few defenders…….

  100. Namibian players were offerred £15,000 each to loose the game Vs Guinea on Friday, but the players rejected. These reports are in the Danish media. I am not suggesting that some our players may have paid, but £15,000 is a lot of money comparred to $2500. The way we lost the game Vs Cameroon was very strange. How do move Christmas from December to January, surely gifts are given on the 25 of December and our boys knew this or do they still think it is x-mas,those gifts Jesus Christ, can’t be true

  101. #169 Forget about the quarter finals dear, we are out of AFCON, however I feel players who have not played should be given a chance. Line up Vs Egypt
    Kankonje
    Hachilensa
    Chintu Kampamba
    Himoonde
    Chinyama
    Francis Kasonde
    Chris Katongo
    Kalaba
    Sunzu
    Mulenga
    Felix

  102. Kankonje

    Hachilensa Chintu Kampamba Himoonde Chinyama

    Chris Kalaba Kasonde Felix Katongo

    Jacob Mulenga Felix Sunzu

  103. Ok, I got my calculator out and here are the scenarios.

    1. If Sudan beat Camerron (Which highly unlikely), then all we will need is a draw against Egypt.

    2. If Sudan Draws with Cameroon (which is possible), the all we will need is to beat Egypt by any margin.

    3. If cameroon Beats Sudan by any margin (highly possible), then will have to beat Egypt by a margin of at least three goals. the best would be to beat Egypt by 4 Goals.

    Kwena nacibipa.

  104. In the game with Cameroun, Egpty used five defenders and won. Cameroun made five changes and beat us 5-1. I can assure you that the same fools will play with Egpty, Zambian adminstrators and coaches are foolish. Why have a dispute over money and allow scouts into the camp. Zambia has to score 4-0 against Egpty, which wont happen.

  105. Nothing wrong with the goal keeper and Musonda at the back, the rest of the defenders must go with Chintu must play in midfield.

  106. #168 (Nemesis), you say you can’t imagine someone crazy enough to spend money to make Zambia lose? Its very possible. Zambia was seen as a team that won’t win a single match so some huge Gumbling sydicates may have used that in their decision making. Now after seeing Zambia whip Sud 3-0 and Cameroon go down 2-4 to egypt, they couldn’t let things to chance. Then the wrangle about the $500 in the Zambian could only give this syndicate added advantage.

    So it is possible.

  107. I had decided that I would not see the game and only learn of the results later. Looks like I saved myself more heartache.

  108. Continud from #178.

Besides, they offered Namibia money to fix their final match when Namibia wasn’t even considered a threat to anyone.
they had not won a single game.

  109. Patrick Phiri just has to change that defence. They are horrible to the point where one can even suspect match fixing. Nobody plays like that even in small leagues.

  110. Let’s not jump to match-fixing theories without considering the past performance of the team. Did this same team play well defense-wise against a good opponent before? Probably not. ACN is a showcase for an african player, and they would want to do well to be noticed by football scouts. Match fixing is possible, but surely it would be nothing for a player compared to securing a contact with a European club.

  111. If i were a player offered $30,000, to fix a match for zambia, who am i to refuse the bribe? After all these guys have only known eating ifisashi day in day out. Please, get your money and get your arse out of the AFCON…

  112. All I was saying is that match fixing can not be ruled out. And about contracts? Our football palyers can be shortsighted at times. But I strongly hope match fixing wasn’t the case here.

  113. Mulenga who? Are u nuts or have you gone glose, better shout your gobe mune.PP is useless na ma suti yakwe, sticks his a..s..s on the bench while his defence are giving away gifts, whatthe h.e.ll is that Zeds performance was strange, even other countries are just wondering how that could happen. We lost away to Tunisa and Morocco but it was 1-0 and 2-0, gifts as well,so if PP can not findout it is better for him to go back and coach Tanzania,Simba Sports,or Malaiti Rangers..kikara. as per goat

  114. That was as per Mbuzi, as per meeee…meeeeeeeeeeee… ata se. Kwana aba fwa nga ba la bwele………….

  115. Our lose to Cameroon has brought a lot of problems. I mean which strong Team in Africa would want to play Zambia in friendly games. Tapali bane chapwa nomba ni ba Botswana, Malawi, Lesotho, Swaziland, Namiba, Niger, Chad, Nchanga Rangers. That team can loose to ZESCO

  116. cool Justce kafusha.Don’t be so extreme.Don’t embed your emotions in your posting.Be analitical not emotionalistical.

  117. #134. Tata ba Wibilima, I didn’t know you were a soccer fan!
Anyway, I think this is the worst loss Zambia has ever suffered at any tournament and its really a hard one to swallow. Anyway, I hope we have learn’t something from this and for the good of the game, everyone involved, from the coaches to FAZ should step down to pave way for a new bigining. PP is a good coach but I don’t think he has waht it takes to coach a national side at such a high level.

  118. Correct me if I’m wrong. Its seems to me that we have played more serious attacking teams in the COSAFA than the Cameroon we met yesterday and we have not lost like that.

PP’s failure to learn from friendlies has cost us dearly. I only hope he and the boys learnt something from yesterday’s thumping and we are going to see some positive change.

  119. Tana says he has a lot to tell the nation, I hope they don’t shut him down, chi Fidelis Banda has already started dismising what Tana is trying to say even before he says anything… Pathetic!

  120. #190 ala mune nimfulwa ichine chine, takwaba fwe, just what happened, maybe u have an explanation, it was a shame to go dawn 1-5, bushe ni tennis nangu cricket, nangu basketball, nangu tabletennis, nangau beachfootball, nangu imi shanga ye bange

  121. IT IS JUST 1 FOOTBALL MATCH LOST GUYS. THE DEFENCE CAN HARDLY EVER PLAY WORSE THAN THEY DID LAST NIGHT. THERE ARE NO MISTAKES ONLY LESSONS.BRING ON EGYPT.

  122. I hope the team is focussing on beating Egypt. They still have somedays to do something.

Lets do it this time boys!

  123. Do you guys think of any possibility that the match was fixed? I mean we heard of reports that $30,000 was offered to the Namibian players if they could fix their last match. Are our players diginfied to reject such an offer, considering the $2,500 they are being paid? Anyway, it just came to my mind, I hope it was not the case.

  124. I wish PP had consulted ba Kabole, bapangakofye defence. On the brighter side, am proud that at least we have 4 or 5 prayers that inspired some hope in me for the future. I didnt expect especially Chamanga and Felix to display such courage even against the so called indomitable ‘now’ lionesses. The defence killed our game except maybe for Billy. On a good day we could have beaten them, they are beatable Well these are my personal views.

  125. #199 My self
I thought about the same that the match was fixed.I think Samuel Eto`o oiled our defense.I`ve never seen our national team conceed such soft goals before.Did you notice the way he was celebrating the goals? An investigation must be carried out.

  126. #201 Chapi

Really, I couldn’t believe how the defence was giving away balls, I mean the way Clive Hachilensa tried to head the ball that resulted in Job’s second goal, the way the other guy missed his clearance, I have never seen such defending at such a high level of a competition. Really they should be investigated.

  127. those zambian defenders are sh!t especially nkhetani he has 2 left legs truth be told we are out of the cup no ifs no buts just the truth we are out they must shoot all the defenders like dogs that football was unacceptable no professionalism kill them!!!

  128. I agree with nearly all the above comments. Mainly I am more upset with our poor defence and lack of a good goal keeper who seems to keep forgetting that his job is to take care of the goal post. I wonder as to whether our players know that it’s from these matches (African Cup of Nation) where International Team Manager i.e for English Teams get to spot the qualities of a suitable player for their blank cheques. Our manager needs to get off his backside during the matches like others do.

  129. I hope not Vc, coz if thats the case, then it means they are banking on the little money they will collect from the match fix for their short term benefits. What about the long term benefits? Their moto should be Advertise Yourself. Katongo is the only man who seems to be doing it right!

  130. #207 Mutinta (Kasimbi)

I have been impressed with both the Katongo brothers. Felix has been outstanding in the two games Zambia has played and how i wish a guy like Wenger could spot him. His style can fit well with the Gunner’s game.

  131. Guys the loss did not come as a surprise. Let us look at how many friendly matches Zambia won and lost specifically when they briefly camped in Europe? Zambia’s going to Ghana depended on winning matches through sheer luck. As for Egypt game let us rule ourselves out and avoid BPs

  132. The kind of infrastructure we have back home does influence the results. It is such a shame that we are a country with no proper stadiums; Cameron 5-1 crush should send a message to our leaders. The whole FAZ committee needs a revamp; we can’t have the same people all times. We need Innovative young Blood with the interest of delivering results. We are sick and tired of being second class all times. Our players have the potential to deliver, but lack good leaders to motivate them. We need a prop

  133. Contu…

We need a proper neutral Coach, some one who can read the Game. Not people that have other interests.
Good luck boys. We can do better.

  134. Iam supporting Ivory Coast because so far, they are the only team that has impressed me in all areas considering the African football standards and Iam putting my money on them to lift the cup! Their long term investments in helping you players break into top European leagues is paying off now, That team will be a force to recon with at the SA 2010.

  135. WOW! Angola has been impresive in this match, they are leading Senegal by 3-1 with 2 minutes to go. But again, expecting them to go beyond the quoter final stage would be wishful thinking. However, they will be better that Zambia in the run up to SA 2010.

  136. Those match-fixing stories are all bullshit. Who has money to waste on Namibia, a team that was out before it even played its 1st game? Its all trash. Lets just invest in sport in Zambia (like in the ZCCM days) and we’ll be proud again. Rise up Zambia, and demand of your govt to invest in SPORT not in Kanyama roads. At this rate “mukala lila fye lyonse” like Exile said…

  137. The South Africans seem to be following our footsteps defensivly.
    Tunisia 3-0 South Africa.

I don’t think they will score about to five though.

  138. I think for chipolopolo we need an expertriate coach coz he will not surely be biased in terms of featuring players. What do you think guys?

  139. Changing the coach will not solve the problem. I think we are asking too much out of this team who have very little facilities to work with. What we need most is say a 10-year development plan to raise our footbal standard again, not these stop-gap measures which do not lead us anywhere. We got good results during the so-called ZCCM days because there was investiment in youth sports and training facilities.

  140. We are just another Southern African Team. Too much talk and less work.Lets change FAZ first and see what happens. Sometimes we speak like we are champions. Who told us that? Good things will always follow with 100% commitment. Our results are a true reflection of who we are.

  141. In most countries call up to the national team is a great honor. Our players were showing up at a casual pace as if they are doing the nation a favor. That is why we had players reporting for camp in Ghana. The example set by people like Tana
only sets the team back. We have to change our approach to preparing for big games and select only committed players. At this rate ido not see us as viable for 2010 in readiness.Let us be real!

  142. I would not dismiss the match-fixing possibility, because they sydnicates would have put big money on Egypt and Cameroon progressing from the group, and would want to ensure Zambia doesn’t cause a surprise. I mean if you think about it, the defenders were switched on the first 20 minutes. Also there is a lot of money to be made by picking the score. A win for Cameroon wouldn’t pay much, but a win by 4 or 5 goals definitely would! I hope its not the case though.

  143. well,
5-1 is something Patric Phiri should have thought of before he sent Elijah Tana back. Patric is a good scout, but not a good coach. A good coach is one who can turn things around when you are losing, and Patric is not that man. He is Zambia’s best talent scout, but not Zambia’s best coach. I cant wait for Faz to change its leadership this year. Whether its King Kalu or Mr Adams, we just need a change……plus an expatriate coach.

  144. Gents, I have never never seen a coach who just sits on his ass watching his lads fumbling without even giving signals or even call his captain by the side line to issue instructions. Patrick is far from being considerd to be a national team coach!!This defence we have, is the same one kalu left and it participated in the last AFCO in 2006.Surely one would say that they gained some experience, therefore, we expected them to put even a better performamnce this time around.Patrick is surely

  145. South Africa`s performance (and wonderful loses) should not come as a surprise bane. Don`t you know the Chipolopolo Boys and Bafana Bafana are sworn brothers? Elyo ifi ifintu fya mumulopa. Just look at the Katongo brothers, the Malitoli brothers, the Bwalya brothers. The only difference being the former brotherhood (Chipolopolo and Bafana Bafana) is that of luuuuuzzzzzziiiiing shamelessly and the latter was of winning, at least in their hey-days as players.

  146. useless, coz I believe these defenders with a different coach would improve. It seems ba Zambia baitelafya bola, if a coach can not stand up and walk to the side line when things are not going as planned then it means that he does not read the game and can’t restrategise and above all he is only used one system of play which he can not alter when the opponents are tactically good. PP & and his assistants should be fired as soon as they arrive. We need new blood in FAZ.Shame to PP a dull coach!!

  147. Fighton Simukonda you are equally a big let down!U played at that high level for a long time as a central defender but you can not impart the knowledge and skills in our young upcoming defenders.Uli wachabe chabe fye mukolwe iwe.Zambia as a footballing nation, we should learn one lesson! Never engange a coach who has been fired/sucked at club level.Where is Zanaco now? Simba stars did not renew PP’s contract just after a season why? Let us groom a young coach for the future rather than spending

  148. money on training PP who can not pay back.Teddy must go he has brought politics into the football.i love chipolopolo my hurt is bleeding!!

  149. I don’t understand why people on this blogg are having mental anguish and emmotional gymnastics on the loss to cameroon. It was expectected , I don’t know how any sane Zambian would expect us to beat cameroon with our current pedigree of players.

And to think these are the games you wanted the Government to spend collossal amounts of money beaming.

  150. Before afcom Zambia played 5 friendlies & conseded a total of 9 goals. The funny thing is that the same 4 defenders kept playing full games, despite being poor in all. When we played Sudan the same 4 played & were poor.Further more during the qualifiers Hachilesa & nkethai were constantly poor the whole year even ingames we won.Why are they always startin? The only logic is that they are P.PHIRIS friends.PP like Kalu is not profesional in selction and its Zambia who pays the price for his ineptitude

  151. Poor chipolopolo defence exposes our poor economy and all the wicked things that continue to dogg the Old tree. When the economy is poor, you dont expect especially a soccer team to perform wonders. So ba Zambia should crititically look at defence like sichone, sinkala and Tana. Give them what they deserve as top class players like elsewhere. Osati kwagu pa smolilo yaba boola from 2500 to 2000 pin Us$? Mwawa ba Faz, Malaiti blackout, naavina you cant perform at such a tournament with euro stars.

  152. Further more J.Musonda,Hachilensa & B.Mwanza are short.Whilst players like B.Mwanza r talented, its essential that @ least 3 out of 4 Defenders must be tall. Not 3 out of 4 short. In Europe all teams have players from 97 to 100% tall.Just look at how Angola tamed teranga lions of Senegal. There players are tall & took Dioufs crew pound for pound whilst Zambia it was pound for pinch. No wondere our defenders kept trembling each time they saw a cameroonain giant attacking.

  153. Shwala I agree 100%. The Zambian players are too short and small. Did u notice that Cameroun was just lobbying high ball into the 18 and waiting for school boy mistakes? Even Z employs a foreign coach, it will not be a good one. It will be another zize (what ever his name was).

  154. Why is it that most players in SADC ,with the excption of Angola , are smaller in size than west and north african players? bafana bafana cant play a physical game, just like zambia, so is zimbabwe and the rest of sadc countries

  155. Zambia just choose to pick short players. Maybe because of the age cheating in the U-17, U 20, U 23. U cant have short people in goal and defence. 94-James Phiri, Wawa, Litana, Chiyangi, Bubble etc, no wonder we could reach the final. Even 96, the bulks were big. Please check the replys on the Supersport website and see how Cameroun was just lobbling the ball over our short men.

  156. Perhaps it is genetic. But even then we have had short players who did wonders: Happy Sichikolo, Jonston Bwalya and the list goes on. I think the biggest problem with our players is more of a psycological one than physical. They go in the pitch with a scrambled mental state. It is high time our soccer administrators and coaches looked at this issue objectively and not forgetting the other issues already highlighted by the other commentators.

  157. #233, we are not talkin about the countries economy, we talk the game here, but phiri did invite the sichone’s and sinkala. but the guys we not well. for Tana FAZ president knows better, the solution is not money either. $2500 is okay.the issue is that zambia gave cameroon just to much respect. so the new FAZ should look at getting friendly games with teams which are ranked above us.so that the guys are not scared playin malawi and botswana won’t help. lets keep most of the boys, but not ken.

  158. HEY GUYS THE SIZE OF PLAYERS IS THE A ISSUES BUT WAT CAN WE DO? WE HAVE TO FIND ANOTHER PLAN, HOW COME BRAZIL HAS A SHORT DEFENDER IN CARLOS, BUT HE WAS GOOD, ASHLEY COLE IS NOT TALL TOO, WE JUST NEED A COACH WHO CAN TELL THESE BOYS HOW TO READ THE GAME AND PLAY WITH THT TECHINCAL. WE JST LACK THAT IN OUR SOCCER,ZAMBIANS ARE NATURAL NOT TALL PEOPLE, WE NEED A EUROPEAN COACH, AND PHIRI ASSIT, KALU FAZ PREZ, SO HE CAN ORGAINSE MEANFULL FRIENDY GAMES, NOT CHAPS HOW CAN’T EVEN CALL SICHONE’S TEAM.

  159. We certainly need at least 2 tall players in defense.. The goal keeper should be Medium Sized to Tall but have a lot of Reflexes and aerial control. The Middle need at least one tall player and at least one tall player in th Front. But talent should not seclude the shorter players… See Angola..all goasl were headers 2 from that Tall youngster hearding to Man U

  160. Just reading what PP was saying, the guy is not fit to be a coach for the national team. How can a coach show no confidence in the team he selects and coaches. His job is make the Players believe that all matches are wineable. PP you have shown that you are a coward and time to go is when we are back from ACN.

  161. hello, guys i have now recovered and iam back to give every true zambian, hope we will beat egypt 4-0 and we go thru watever happens with sudan and cameroon. i don’t know how we will do it. but i believe in GOD. He teaches us to have faith and hope. so guys we will win!!, i guss all u guys think iam mad, no i just have hope. zambia 4 egypt 0.

  162. Ba Lula, If Zambia beats Egypt and qualifty I will have to eat my words but I have written them off. I will even be surprised if Phiri makes major changes to the team. If I were him, I would play Jacob, Sunzu and Christoper Katongo upfront, Jacob is a good player and will saw what Chris did on Saturday, bring in Chintu, drop the other three defenders apart from Musonda. Drop Bakala. I am not sure about Isaac Chansa whether he deserves place in team. Guys can you suggest probable line for Egypt?

  163. #SHIDADA, I LIKE IT THT U ARE A TRUE ZAMBIAN, CUZ FROM WAT U HAVE WROTE U STILL HAVE HOPE, AND THT IS WAT I LIKE, U ARE RIGHT WE NEED TO MAKE CHANGES, MAYBE THE SQUAD SHLD BE
    1. MWEENE
2.HH( WAT CAN WE DO ATLEAST HE OVERLAPS BETTER)
    3.MUSO
    4 HH(UNDER20 BOY WHO PLAYED)
    5 CHINTU
    6.CHANSA
    7.JACOB
    8 CHRIS KATONGO
    9.SUNZU
    11. FELIX KATONGO
    12 GOD.
13 FAITHFULY AND PRAYFULL ZED SUPPORTS.
    ZAMBIA 3-EGYPT 0
SUDAN 1(ATLEAST THEY WANT TO GET A GOAL) CAMEROON 1.

  164. The Zambian coaching staff have been making strenuous efforts to alleviate the air of despondency and frustration that settled on the Zambian camp after Saturday’s 5-1 defeat at the hands of Cameroon. Emotions were not surprisingly running high after the game as the team tried to come terms with the enormity of the opportunity that had been wasted. The team are reported to have felt desperate about what had happened and about how they had let down the Zambian people.

    Since then there have bee

  165. change the your formation and put a defencive formation if you want to beat eygpt .i also think the stricking was perfect well although you emberrased me.this goes to the keeper he should pressureize his defenders to mark like hell.to make my comment short i think the main topic is defence.strickes keep it up but run as fast as you can for the captain dont ever run in a striaght line men run diagonally.work on our croosers as well men dont be selfish your are a team

  166. Since then there have been several team talks and the mood in the camp has stabilized. The squad realize they have a game ahead (against Egypt on Wednesday) which might change everything and there will be a meeting today at 08.00 Ghanaian time to analyse what went wrong on Saturday and plan the best way forward. Word from the delegation is that everyone hopes the players can make amends for Saturday’s defeat and restore some pride to Zambian football.

  167. Its possible for Sudan to draw with Cameroun. Beside the game will be in Sekondi, maybe it will unsettle both teams. Then we can have a mathamatical chance. Ba Lula pray 4 a draw in Sekondi.

  168. My humble view is that lets first have a functioning FAZ. How you win the Africa Cup with an association that no strategy to raise funds, to market football nationally. We are even struggling to even have a decent stadium.

Zambia has decent players in th4e rural leagues who can do better than the cartoons we had in defence. We need the tactics of ba Brightwell Banda and pa zed we can still do it. By the way getting a foreigner is not the solution.

  169. By the way we a foreign coach Burkihard Ziese and we got hammered 4-0. So mane lets serious. We ended up sacking he coach after two games.

Maybe our biggest weakness is that we fail to analyse the biggest problems we have.

  170. i was so happy in the first game the played but the other one i wasn’t impristy with how the played i hope we can do better this time in the last game…HOPE SOOO…

    banji mainza

  171. Lets try! But I doubt, beating Egypt! Can Sudan draw with Egypt or win Egypt??? I donot think that is possible. May be who knows?????

  172. I think we ‘ve a long way to go.I must confess i was very dissapointed with the zambian team.I wondered if jacob, chansa are real professinals.I wish we had 7 of the likes of the Katongos in the team perhaps we ‘d have done better.I think coaches are just ok but the standard of players we have are not of international standards.Even if we bring in a foreign coach as long as the mind set of players is not changed,we’ll always have the same results. If you are in a competition like AFCON,you don’t consider yourselves as underdogs, but champions.

  173. Having lost their opening two Group C games and with a goal difference of minus six, Sudan are effectively out.

That leaves Egypt, Cameroon and Zambia battling it out for the two qualification berths when Group C’s final round of games takes place on Wednesday.

Egypt are well placed to qualify from Group C

Egypt, with a maximum six points from their opening two games, will definitely go through with at least a point against Zambia.

If, however, the Chipolopolo beat Egypt and Cameroon are victorious against Sudan then all three teams will finish with six points and the tournament’s qualification criteria comes into play.

  174. Continued

In this instance it is likely that the group will be decided on the goal difference from the head-to-head games involving Egypt, Cameroon and Zambia.

However, wins for Cameroon and Egypt will see the Pharaohs top the group and the Indomitable Lions qualify as runners-up.

The winners of Group C will play the team that finishes second in Group D.

  175. Zed Analyst, you talk about Burkihard Ziese that is my point. Why does FAZ go for useless coaches when the recruit foreign coaches? Even the recent list has useless names. I think on the other hand, good admintration and motivation are also factors because even teams with foreign coaches like Nigeria and Senegal are struggling. But the good thing is that they resign when the lose. Will FAZ resign after this tournament? We Kalu and Hanif.

  176. #245 stop giving yoself false hopes,we are all saddened by the loss to our boys but just face the reality.zed can neva beat Egypt 4-0,elo wanya.

  177. Its high time ba Patrick Phiri was shown the way out. How can a coach just sit on bench without giving instructions to players. I think he is overfeeding. Look at his head. Lets get a foreign coach. Our defense was bull manure.

  178. No ways munasila bayana imwe!!!! How do you expect to win a team which all national team players look upto? Billy Mwanaza calls himself Njitap, Hachilensa/Nketani Rigobert Song,Kalaba Eto fils,Kalilo Jack Songo, Jacob Mule Job desire etc. Believe me economy yatu has bearing on this loss and not how tall players should be Abash height ba monko!!!!

  179. Zed beating Eygpt that 4 sure will be a miracle. Football is full of suprises BUT our defence is phathetic. Even if I wanted to day dream I would surely have a nightmare

  180. Hey guys, tonight is another big heartbreak especially for you who are expecting the unexpected to happen-i mean Zed whacking Egyptians,it is totally impossible. The fact is we are losing. In as much as Zambia is prepared so are the pharaos.you don`t expect them to relax, for Heavens sake they are defending the cup which they have-they just wanna keep it so they have prepared much. Our boys are losing today,it is just a fact. All the very best chipolopolo boys!

  181. #263CK USA-I thought we are talking about football here and not exchanging phone numbers.Sorry but i do not see any connection,i might sound sweet but you might not even like me if you see me.my advice to you is do not love anything that sounds sweet without knowing it.Good day and enjoy da match

  182. Ni game cabe iyi, don’t crack your heads for nothing. Whether you are a good team or not, in football, we wait for the final whistle. So let’s wait and see what comes out of the game Zed is playing with Egypt. Don’t lose hope yet, anything is possible.

  183. I agree with you FM. a miracle can happen as t happened to nigeria. but our defence should be changed and hope the boys are not bought to loose the agme easily

  184. It seems paZed tatumfwa. You have already started building castles in the air. Why don`t we just accept the facts. It is preparedness and not miracles that count in the game of modern football guys. The earlier you come to terms with #269 Sandra`s point, the less you are likely to have a heartbreak. True partriotism means to accept both sides (band & good, weak & strong, unpreparedness & preparedness) of what or who you are partriotic to. Good luck to both teams and may the better side carry the day.

  185. We have no investiment in the venture. We always reap what is sown. Mediocrity, we always prepare for failure money for proper preparations is not there. It is a falacy to send a ill- prepared team and expect success.
No one is ready to lead in Zambia. Politically we have visionless bosses not leaders. Every one of them is there for his bread but remember this one truth, God will judge all of us righteously and He is no respector of any person. Play with His people and don’t forget that all authority is from Him and He is the righteous judge over the affairs of men.
    God bless Zambia!

  186. guys it is very unfortunate that we left out THE GREAT TANA.

I guess it’s time Phiri got sensible advisors around him. or is it because we are used to success syndrome.

TANA is our HERO, seasoned player, experienced (like SONG for cameroon).

lets get our house in order otherwise 2010 (Zambia will only participate in watching instead of playing)

  188. Zambia has been playing soccer for such a long time and has never achieved anything. Chipolopolo team always a loser. In my view there is nothing like a good loser. When you are a loser you can,t a good loser, period. All this Zambian soccer nonsense should stop so that the Government can for once focus on tangible infrastructure development. Funding Chopolopolo boys amounts to dumping money in a bottomless pit. I feel it’s about the Government stopped wasting tax payers’ money on a worthless venture. If the Chipolopolo were an industry, I believe it would have closed shop ages ago. No more funding Z-soccer.
