Dangote Cement Zambia dispels Jobs cuts media reports

Dangote Cement Zambia Limited has dispelled media reports suggesting that there will be job cuts at the company as a measure to mitigate production costs due to Government impending implementation of the Sales Tax.

Company Public Relations Officer Mubiana Nalwendo says the allegations are false, malicious and intended to malign management’s tenacity for an empowered Zambian economy through job creation.

Mr. Nalwendo said the Company Chief Executive Officer Albert Corcos did not at any point utter such remarks alleging that there will be job cuts at the firm.

He said Mr. Corcos, however during his speech at the 2019 media briefing, did point out that the impending implementation of the Sales Tax by Government might have a negative impact on the production costs.

Mr. Nalwendo said the CEO further stated that the Company will nonetheless opt for better productivity and use of technologically advanced equipment; as a measure to reduce costs associated with implementation of the Sales Tax.

“Our vision of being “a world class enterprise that is passionate about standards of living of our people”, can only be achieved through commitment to our values and enhanced economic growth across the African continent”, he added.

Mr. Nalwendo has urged members of the public and the media practitioners to verify facts concerning Dangote before engaging in speculative reporting.

    • Nobody discusses Dangote, they bribe likes of Lusambo for nothing.
      Dagato don’t need a public relations manager, there is nothing public about Dagote, and no PF intend to grab it through State House liquidations.
      Dangote stop throwing stones at hyena.

    Maybe this was misunderstood.
