Pray from Home during the celebrations of Palm Sunday, Sumaili tells the public

Religious Affairs Minister Godfridah Sumaili has reiterated government’s call for the public to continue praying from home to avoid crowding churches.

Reverend Sumaili has urged Christians to pray from home today during the celebrations of Palm Sunday.

She has appealed to the church and its members to continue praying for the nation especially during this difficult time of the COVID-19.

The Minister has also thanked the Church Mother Bodies for their continued cooperation with Government in the fight against the COVID-19.

Speaking to ZNBC news, Reverend Sumaili also hailed the Catholic Church for coming up with an initiative where its members will place the Palm branches on their doors as a symbol of Palm Sunday celebration.

She said although the day will be celebrated from homes, placing palm branches on doors will keep the meaning for Palm Sunday.

  1. I seriosuly think your ministry should be abolished and the money saved handed to the poor people in quarntine mama.

  2. Godfridah Sumaili thinks only she has the prerogative to speak to the faithful. But the faithful do not hv their own govt, their own laws and their own country.

  3. Those with ears will listen. To the contrary, those without ears will be arrested. Kz

  4. The most useless ministry , trying to make Zambia a foundamentalist Christian country with an economy driven by prayers ….

Would have been more beneficial to have a minister of import substitution to eliminate imports one by one by local manufacturing

  5. She is one useless woman in the most pointless Ministry…only this is possible under one Lazy Lungu.

  6. This ministry only serves to antagonize people against the church because it marries government with the church. The church is the biggest loser in this arrangement. People unhappy with government and the PF become unhappy with the church

  7. Lowershorter – No people are waking up to reality that Church is just another business like that bottle store in Chawama…..covid-19 has proved it.

  8. Covid19 has revealed to us why we should not have anything to do with religious nonsense when it comes to solving real life problems. Just cower down with the rest of the population until this is over Madam.

  9. How stupid is this Minister of Religious Affairs….In Easter Week the ONLY day for celebration is Easter Sunday
when he is risen from the dead….Not Palm Sunday and certainly NOT good Friday. Who appointed such an ignorant woman
