The Patriotic Front, PF, has retained the Chifubu parliamentary seat.
Announcing the election results around 00:30 hours this morning, Returning Officer, Roy Kuseka, declared Susan Kawandami of the Patriotic Front as winner after she polled 6, 976 votes, beating MMD’s Frank Ng’ambi who polled 4, 539 votes.
Alliance for Democracy and Development, ADD’s Brian Banda emerged third after polling 412 votes, while UNIP’s Poko Mambwe trailed with 221 votes.
148 votes were rejected after 12, 296 out of 29, 000 registered voters cast their votes in the constituency’s 39 polling stations, representing about 42 percent of all the registered voters in Chifubu.
And Foundation for Democratic Process, FODEP, has said there was a lot of voter apathy in Chifubu.
FODEP Information Officer, McDonald Chipenzi, told QFM in a telephone interview from Chifubu that recording only 12, 296 out 29, 000 registered voters as having cast their vote is a big sign of voter apathy.
Congratulations PF.
Pamaka !!!! Pabwato . Shame on MMD !
PF, this is wat we wanted the Zambians to vote for there real party. inkoloko yalala . . .
Pabwato pabwato!!!!
…Now try and behave like responsible leaders.
Senior Citizen, Can I have your comment?
congrats
Shame on you bootlicker and you clan! what ever you call your self… keep licking Banda’s Bullshit!
MMD cant win elections on the copperbelt, they have lost even in chimwemwe ward where kafupi was vigorously compaining for the MMD…..We are sailing to the other side this time.
we knew it not a secret Viva PF we behind you
Like I care! I’m running a private business…I follow politics as rarely as I can.
I was still celebrating, a Goat lost it’s life to feed myself and my friend to celebrate the PF win. Now I’m back on the net. Senior Citizen I told You. For #1 Mr. Capitalist – 3 E’s steering economic growth thanks for the complements.
I also hear Milupi Chuuuuuuu ha s retained the Luena seat. he must have done a lot of homework for the move he took. He took on the whole country on and still won.
Sorry MMD and ba banda plus ba boss ba ng,ambi
Close contest. I suppose N’gambi stood on a wrong ticket while susan found herself in the right place at the right time. I mean CB and lsk shanties pipo don’t think when voting, it’s pabwato regardless of who stands e.g kambwili, susan, nsanda, chimbaka etc.
Pabwaaaaatooo
Congratulation to the PF!
But this gives me the more reason why the PACT should not break. It is a good win for the PF but thanks to the pact because we managed to keep the votes in one basket. Looking at the margin of 2000 plus, i feel if the pact broke the MMD would easily win if the two PACT parties went it alone. I know people will argue that Copperbelt is a PF strong hold but strictly speaking the two parties need each other to dislodge the MMD. VIVA PACT!
well done PF, wake up call for MMD, any news on Luena?
MMD even used Levy’s name. The MMD even USED Levy’s name saying Levy was MP for Chifubu and Chifubu took him to parliament. So to honour him and the moth he died in, Vote for Levy. The pipo took non of it. They choose democratically the PF candidate. Viva Women Power, Viva Susan Kawandami.
Even In Kafulafuta George Mpombo will win even when MMD matches him with Levy’s son Patrick. The copperbelt and Lusaka MMD losing and losing badly.
Hehe..let me first sip my cup of coffee.
heee the great harlot MMD has fallen again
hooo the great whore MMD is conguered
Hee Sata has conguered the dull RB and Chiluba in Chifubu and Chimwemwe
Hehe Malupi has conguered the mantiated MMD in Luena
Country men and women, let us sing a song of victory
Let us merry and be happy for the great son of pedition MDD has fallen.
WHAT WILL BECOME OF MMD IN 2011 NEXT YEAR????
Tim has come fro MMD to go
The Government in Waitng
This is so sweet my brothers and sisters!
I suppose even a frog would win on a PF ticket in CB and lsk. As for Bwezi and MMD, it’s now 4 losses in a row in parliamentary bye-elections. Something is seriously wrong with the MMD. UPND have already grabbed 2 of their seats in N/W.
#14 DONT TALK ABOUT KAMBWILI LIKE THAT. WHERE DO YOU LIVE, YOU SHOULD VISIT LUANSHYA AND SEE FOR YOURSELF HOW MUCH WORK THIS TALKATIVE KAMBWILI IS DOING THERE. VISIT AND SEE HIS WORKS. THE MISTAKE YOU MAKE IS THAT YOU HEAR ABOUT HIS LANGUAGE AND THINK HE IS USELESS. I’VE BEEN THERE AND I TELL YOU HE COULD BE A LOT BETTER THAN YOU AND YOUR MP COMBINED. LEARN TO APPRECIATE FACTS BEFORE YOU TALK. THATS THE SAME MISTAKE YOU MAKE ABOUT SATA!
PF has retained its held Chifubu parliamentary seat in a historic apathetic election ever seen in Zambia. A 21,915 plus registered voters constituency that enjoyed sending MPs to Parliament with not less 18,000 votes has today dismally send one at less than 7,000 votes. After extrapolating this, how does one see his prospects in future highly open general elections?
Whatever mathematical method of modeling the relationships given variables in Zambian elections present, Regression analysis of the 2006 tripartite election to 2010 bye-elections is exposing PF to real electoral dangers. Figures below reveal much irrespective of the pact factor. Why couldn’t the pact votes offer a run away margin?
VIVA PF. Congrats!
Chifubu has 21,915 registered voters not 27,000
Thursday’s bye-election results
6, 976 PF
A representative drop of 3,839 votes since election 2006
4, 539 MMD
A representative drop of 3430 votes since election 2006
Variance between PF and MMD in Chifubu constituency elections
2846 in election 2006
2437 votes in election 2010
Lets wait for Chief Bum licker and Senior Citizen to comment those guys always comeup with extra crap
11 & 14 are the only sensible comments. Who cares who wins. Is it not therepockets they are interested in. I f not I challenge them to forego their gratuity when it becomes due. Shaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame on you.
034 Chifubu 2006 election results
BWALYA Benson M. PF 10,815
KONIE Victor MMD 7,969
SHAMAKAMBA Thom T. UPND, FDD, UNIP (UDA) 2,183
MWELWA Ngosa H. PUDD 948
21,915
Congrats PF. As a Pact supporter I am concerned about the results in Chifubu. It’s been a foregone conclusion that PF would retain that seat but what matters is by what margin. Looking at the figures in details these results will cheer MMD because not only did they narrow the PF victory margin, the PF candidate did not benefit much from the Pact. The results will also make one FTJ a happy man as they indicate that his campaigns on the Copperbelt are having an impact.
Brothers and Sisters in the Pact, this should be a wake up call for us to bury our differences and unite if we stand a chance of beating MMD.
No 23, yah.
Inside your heart, you know very well that kambwili is just a noise maker. I’ve nothing against Sata but let’s be honest other him and Scot, there’s very little quality in PF. The more reason they have more rebels.
I believe congratulations are in order ba PF!
Am just wondering what the purpose of UNIP is in Zambia.
Please napapata disband that party, it is causes unnecessary headaches just reading about it.
I also think it is a waste of space and resources.
Let them join the pact!
Congrats PF!
The ruling MMD is not only pioneer and custodian of the Zambian nascent democracy, but more also mother and father nurturing it to the confidence of all political actors. On behalf of fellow unflinching patriots ever steadfastly rallying around our national flag and interest at heart, we congratulate PF for retaining their long held seat. Indeed a regression analysis reveals much. MMD has recorded significant gains. I have no doubt the national winner take it all electoral system presents better prospects to national parties than regional ones. A moderate wide scale performance across the country where others call their strong holds aggregated with some run away leads in traditional winning constituencies will be defining in 2011.
#31, that is a wrong assumption, they goverment moved the entire state machinery to ndola and luena and still lost, general elections are different, its each one for himself and God for us all, actually MMD should be very very concerned about the outcome of these elections..
Hehe …listen to these silly MMD. Ati uwawa tabula akabepesho. MMD thugs on this blog were fuming with excitment that mantiated MMD would carry the day in Chifubu, but they are shamed to their bones that the mighty PF has emerged very victorious.
Heee the great harlot MMD has fallen
Hee the great whore MMD has fallen
Hee Sata has conguresd the great harlot MMD.
Come 2011 MMD will be buried.
Hehe hoho…senior citzen enrol for a degree otherwise you will suffer bad man-.
This is just free advice to you man.
Which way MMD ? No way.
Forward PACT.
We are one! PF and UPND!
Nipabwato bakamba, Nipamaka, Pankoloko Kuyabebele
baluZA akambwanga…
The problem with our ruling party is that they are not moving with time, people want change in Zambia and change must come now! when i say change I mean, economical, social, political. We want a revolution like what happened in 1991.
Ba veteran, whats all this nonsense you are writting? Just concede defeat.N.W province was stronghold for MMD, its now pact stronghold….give us the same statistics we want to know how MMD, PACT and other candidates faired in previous elections especially n/western.
Pasop. Where are you chief bootliker? Chipolopolo iyeeeeeeeeee. Chipolopolo iyeeeeeeeeeeee. Taviwina vimuchila lende lende. RB chimuchila lende lende. Wapya baisa. We blocked Veep to show that that’s our territory.
congratulations PF! bt really looking at the margin between PF and MMD candidates, it seems c/belt is not a walk over after all, in this case if the pact does not resolve its issues its pretty obvious MMD would still be the government of the day!
What will it take for MMD to win an election ? RB, G. Kunda, William Banda, etc put together with all govt machinery (money, airplanes, police, and list goes on) have failed to win one. Let the PACT be united because 2011 is more than theirs. United we stand, divided we fall is the slogan for 2011 for the pact.
The margin between PF and MMD is not so good and next year things could change in favor of the MMD. As a PACT I would have expected them to win with a huge margin, but I suppose some UPND supporters who were not in favor of PF candidate, voted for the MMD candidate posing a very big threat to the PACT. In any case MMD had done a good job and campaigned vigorously but they are simply not a good march for the PF on the Copperbelt. But this should not excite the PF or PACT as people can change in the next years elections. But it is good to learn that people voted peacefully!
Congratulations PF, we concede defeat. I must say we are very encouraged by the results. This is not a run away loss and if we can build on this , such small margins can easily be wiped out by blowout success in our strong holds. This is good news for us and it shows that we have began making progress in the opposition strongholds. Next year will be interesting. We have seen the gaps and we shall work hard to plug them, and even great news is that the MMD has beaten UPND by a wider 2:1 margin in Luena. This is indeed great news for our party. We are ready to rumble come 2011.
Any latest on the Luena results bloggers? Viva MMD 2011
Veteran; I assure you that most people who are relactant to vote are opposition supporters. I.e people who have not benefitted from the government programes and think that politics aren’t beneficial. Some have lost hope that even if you vote, the same political landscape remains; same suffering, same RB even you vote others- he still re-appears using a VJ method rather than the ballot. Generally all the well-fed MMD supporters voted and that +4,500 is about all. 2ndly on a by-election, which is a normal working day, people never commit time so much like a general election and generally I expected a lower number. Mark my words, the PF will win big come 2011.PF will add about 6,000 to their votes while MMD will add about 1,800**==
I hear MMd is leading in Luena….but MUTVI Tv said ADD so expect surprises here especially that a helicopter has to bring some results so for sure you hear at MMD has won. Lets wait
Hehe #46..
Mhhh thats what call pacifying yourself or soothing yourself after a great embaracement.
To you MMD will do better in coming elections …thats your song.
But what we see is whenever an election comes your MMD loses. You again say next election MMD will emerge victorious. The next election comes the mantiated MMD falls.
How many next elections to come will the MMD win if they can even lose to an idependent who has no money like Malupi?
I really pity and feel for you coz tyou are there for a job Mr Ben Kangwa. Please find something else to do than always embaracing your self like this…..no Ben Kangwa ulekwatako insoni man.
The people have spoken in Chifubu well the ones that voted..sadly they will be back to do this excercise again in October 2011 next year….the people will speak again….who needs the PACT?
DONCHI KUBEBA!!!!! Mwebuntu what are the results in Luena, i heard fi MMD where closing in on ADD last night at around 21hrs? Anyone got the data? MMD must go, no matter what!!! Ba mwenako bafi colour…..VIVA Pact and congrates PF
latest ADD leading with 3,688 while MMD 2800, SO MILUPI HAS WON…………..7902 TOTAL RESULTS
SO MILUPI HAS WON
#46 – Bootlicker, ati this is good news for you iyeeeee na mulusa fye bosses! The 1st step in achieving success is to admit failure. Not in the face of defeat you still say it is good for us. Mulimbe bane.
I think RB anvela ma2vi for instructing police to release PF cadres arrested! Clearly his strategy didnt work!
Milupi awina……But we see that in both elections MMD is coming out second thats why MMD may win the 2011 results . As long as PACT wont have a single candidate forget dislodging the MMD. These are facts that the PACT needs to take into consideration. If they go it alone …MMD is coming back.
ADD??? What the fu_k? Nibandani aba manje?? tifuna che Vi PACT manje. ADD is spoiling the scenery and the greenery of the political landscape.
Senior Citizen you are being benevolent like your party leader! You cannot profess to be the source of democracy when RB was not even among the original thinkers of MMD! In 1991, RB professed to be pure UNIP and we have clearly seen that today as MMD has become UNIP2! William Banda (hard core UNIPIST), Mukondo Lungu (he has never uttered a word since he was appointed Minister of Home Affairs- clearly he has been told by RB who is the boss!) Aka (has been banished to operate only between Kapiri and Dar es Salaam) and his mate (Mbita) aggressively campaigned for RB and he has been left in limbo! Depak (run out of steam!); Zuka (now officially retired); Sondashi (if you want to know how the crocodile lives, ask the hippo!); A. Wina (MHSRIP); N. Zimba (Former High Commissioner);
….. C Sampa (in my view most principled of the lot- refused deputy Minister position); D Mungomba (RIP); VJ (Johnny Walker- keep on walking…..)
Please complete the list…….
MMD has done well!
In 2008 PF polled close to 11,000 votes and MMD was near 4,800 votes.
You could take MMD’s count and multiply it by 2 and it still would be short of the PF votes.
Today MMD polls 4,539 and PF gets 6,976!
MMD is catching up fast!
As long as the PACT will not have a single candidate forget….state house in 2011
I the PF cadres that were pardoned by RB going to be re-arrested? This move did not seem to have had any impact. Also I watched the campaign on ZNBC, the losing MMD candidate was pleading with the voters ” ndipamakasa yenu, ndelonba” ( I am on my knees asking). Does it mean the Chifubu people are so hard hearted?
# 57 MB,
Without reading all your vitriolic, allow me to remark on the few lines I have read and picked. Be informed that the MMD’s democratic culture and spirit is institutional and not individualistic. This is why you see 3 patriots presiding over it in the 18 years of its reign and national reforms. MMD is different from your PF which is Sata and Sata is PF without whom there will be no PF. Institutional democracy of MMD creates a transitivity of leadership and values from one statesman to another. This is why MMD is alive to electoral democracy than the sole man appointing system in PF all vested in Sata.
@59 Bishop Mambo, cembe does not work keep dreaming about MMD,by what margin did MMD win presidential elections in 2001and 2006 and when was PF formed.Get your facts right, you seem to be in a dream world.keep dreaming bro.I have a dream.
41% turn out & somebody is claiming MMD has made inroads in CB,MMD has lost 4 elections in a row & they are scared to look at the facts.
That margin is very big considering the vote buying and voter apathy.MMD needs to do an introspection rather than live in self denial & hope the Pact breaks.
Milupi has wrapped up their popularity in western province.
I think we Zambians we need to know that MMD is finished. There has been no one thing which the MMD has done to make Zambia pround since Rupia came into power, only sending a plane to take Chipolopolo boys, we need change guys!!
Veteran. I think you have got your maths wrong. The figure of 21915 is the number of people who actually voted and not the registered number of voters. As every knows the number of registered voters is always higher than the number of people who vote. You have later on corrected yourself by saying 21915 plus registered voters. Please also note that although the difference of voters between PF and MMD in 2010 is 2437 and is lower than the difference in 2006 of 2844 in terms of percentage it has increased i.e. difference/PF % votes in 2010 and 2006 is 35% and 26%. What mathematical regression is this?
The loss has touched a nerve a left a bitter taste in the mouths of the MMD members. Rupiah has neither taste nor style – talk less of substance. MMD has dug itself into a bottomless pit & the only relief awaiting them is a place in the history books. With the exception of Magande, Mpombo & Kavindele, all MMD members are in danger of being blamed by history for saddling us with Rupiah because of their desire to hold on to power. Their inaction (to find an alternative) will lead to the inevitable: a calamitous defeat from having a leader whose dysfunctional character, physical and intellectual exhaustion and lack of either vision or communications skills are so painfully evident to the public. The writing is on the wall
Christopher Columbus, Noah, Michael Sata have something in common: The Boat or Ubwato. Congratulations to Chifubu for a free and fair election of you MP. Her first task must be to remind the VP when funds for the high school he promised would be available. I was impressed he moticed need for a high school although at a wrong time and announed at a very wrong meeting. I will personally track what he said and use it come 2011. I do not care who forms government as long as my people will have enough basic daily needs. Wake up Zambia and speak through the ballot. Good work PACT.
MMD Chief Bootlicker(B.E.N K.A.N.G.W.A) you look like you are coming back to your senses, but then again you are hallucinating,so you think the opposition will be sleeping while you “work hard”.to narrow the gap.hehehehehehehehehehe..Bwezani is going start accepting the fact..MMD has been lost popularity over the years, look at the margins it won the 1991 elections, can you compare that now,and PF has not been long here but keeps shaming MMD.Shame on MMD.:((
nothing has changed as compared to last presidential bye elections. if the current pattern continues in next years election, the MMD is likely remain in the Govt. Lets face the Facts, the margin is too narrow bearing in mind that c/belt is the stronghold of PF.
FODEP WAKE UP! THIS IS NOT VOTER APATHY. THIS IS THE MMD MACHINATION MASSIVE BUYING OF NRCs TO STOP THE OPPOSITION SUPPORTERS FROM VOTING. BE ANALYTICAL. THIS IS DEFINATELY AN ARTIFICIAL VOTER APATHY CREATED BY THE MMD. ONLY THE STRONGEST OPPOSITION SUPPORTERS VOTER. THE REST ARE HINDERED BY HANDOUTS AND TEMPORARY LOSS OF VOTING DOCUMENTS
These are the people who are frustrated with this news and the out come of Chifubu elections. If you find your number and name here console yourself. My condolence. WoW! This is great am happy for PF and Mr Sata.Congrats Fellas.Change is what we need, and yes we can!:-j:-j:-j:-j:-j:-j
72, I am very happy with the Chifubu and Luena By election results , actually even if MMD returns the 2011 Presidential i would like the opposition to get over a 100 Mps so that Banda or MMd can be controlled from parliament. Its a very good victory for Zambia. What am telling you is PF alone won win the Presidential election not even UPND alone unless the get one candidate maybe they can win, but alas both leaders are selfish.
We tired of MMd but the PACT has also not given us their agenda so unfortunetly we not cadres who go with the wind.
So i guess you now know my position.
CB belongs to the PACT.
HERE IS LIST OF LOSERS: RB, GK, KACHILUBA, MMD CHIEF BOOTLICKER, SENIOR CITIZEN, KA BANDA……………….HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH OOOOOOWEEEEEEE=))=))=))=))=))=))=))=))=))=))=))=))=))=))=))=))=))=))=))
Twabasepa eyayeee, onani maluvumo ngati a chule amainza!
Ok we all knew PF was going to win I just hope these pipo voted for the right candidate because from what I see in copperbelt PF ticket will always win despite of the candidate. All the same I have to say congrats.
Haa guys ..the MMD thugs are gathered at state house mourning for their losses in Chifubu and Luena, I am told. They are in a terrible state of shock and dont know what has befallen them.
They cant believe that they have lost in the face of the colosal sum of stolen money they pumped in both of the elections.
It is reported that RB and Mulongoti are weeping uncontroably, ati amamina yalepita fye.
hehe Sata and Malupi have conguered the great seducing harlot MMD
Country men and women, let us sing a song of victory
for the GREAT MUWELEWELE MMD HAS FALLEN.
The best part is that Opposition is returning there seats and gaining more while MMD seats are fast eroding. At this rate MMD will only remain with appointed MP’s with the likes of Mulongoti. It’s clear that a united opposition is all we’ve been waiting for all this while.
VIVA PACT the Government in waiting!!!! We will be free at last come 2011
ba pf nimbwa sana.viva mmd….
MMD cannot win anything as long as they have Mr Rupiah Banda and his policies in their midst. They may win something only in the Eastern province. MMD wake up, you should have known this by now!
@84 it takes a dog to know another dog,so its good that MMD are also dogs….hehehehhehehehehehehehehehe
viva 2 the pact shane on you Banda & your vice red lipped Kunda twawina ku chifubu
SUM PIPO ON THIS BLOG ARE RESIPONSIBLE ALDULTS YET ALL THEY DO IS SEAT IN FRONT OF THERE BOSS’S P.C’S AND POST SHIT!DO U KNO HW LUCKY U R TO EVEN HAVE ACCESS TO THE NET IN THIS COUNTRY?
VIVA P.F………AMAAAAAAAAAAAKAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!
Where is UPND in Luena………….werent they saying they would win it outrightly?????? what happened? what lessons are we learning from western province. It means the PACT has to work hard to get votes in western province otherwise these votes will go to ADD in 2011. But again like i said MMD comes second and thats where the problem lies. But this is good at Parlamentary level coz it means all the seats can go to ADD in western Province, UPND in Southern , Lusaka and CB PF and parts of Northern , then UPND in Northwestern where will MMD get thier Mps??? Eastern . On the presidential front even if RB wins he wont then have Mps to support him in parliament. At least this is what am seeing in 2011 . unless PACT get one candindate as presidential then they may get into state house in 2011.
PF. Your celebrations are premature. Come 2011 the master tactician, VJ, will come on the scene. Apart from the collossal amount of money that MMD spends on bye elections no rigging is involved because nothing is at stake. RB will still go to Botswana. You wont claim that the 2011 general elections were rigged when the same electoral sytem allowed you to win tuma irrelevant bye elections. Will he go to SA when the printing of electoral votes is being done and come back with a head bandage and claim to have gone to see a doctor at Morning side clinic. Watch this space.
Congrats PF and ADD. The MMD is turning Zambia into Animal Farm and need to be checked. This is one sure way of doing it!
Well Well both seats were opposition seats, no big deal!!!
Whats is good is that peace generally prevailed during the campaigns.
SWEEEEEEEEEEET \:d/
this calls for a beer, more over it friday
Wina ALILA!!!!
MMD can’t win on the copperbelt. Just look at there Bwezan had nothing to talk about. He was only talking ama ilele. He was supposed to tell us why he sold zamtel why his sons are involved in petroleum deals why he wants to close indeni why he bought mandamandas why he travels so much etc. NOT how he became president and how he released one prisoner whom they falsely accused of insulting him.
VJ is not invicible nor is RB. The writing is on the wall for the duuo and the entire MMD
VJ is not invicible nor is RB. The writing is on the wall for the duo and the entire MMD

Viva Pabwato, shame to the MMD. Guston Sichili and Malanji can you dance again? We told you that the Harlot (MMD) has lot credibility due its adulterous behaviour.
Iwe #72 MMD has died in Chifubu! ulishilu, we are simply analysing the results and the outcome of events. I personally am happy that PF won even though they could have done better than that because we all know Chifubu is one of their strongholds. Just think about what you expected. MMD has strongholds where PF can be and has been beaten lamentably yet in PF’s stronghold, MMD is still posing a big threat and I can assure you this win is not so confortable even for PF members, they really could have done better. So iwe wilasabailefye kwati muntu ukolelwe Katata!
Viva ba Sata,Christopher Columbus and Noah
Milupi retains luena seat ! ADD 3,688, MMD 2,800, UPND 1,806.
Hehe ati the harlot MMD will win next elections. But when next elections come they badly lose and again they promise their deciples that they would win the next elections.
Now the name has changed from MMD to NEXT. hehe this halort MMD now is flirting with names.
hehe country men and women let us rejoice and be happy
FOR THE GREAT SON OF PEDITION MMD HAS BEEN CONGUERED BY SATA AND MALUPI.
don’t listen to these mmd paid blogers on here! boy your job is up, come 2011!!!!!!
Viva pact!
lubinda is on the floor in parliament. confirmed milupi has won!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Won’t the MMD petition the election results on account of voter apathy???
Looks like internet cafe to day are making some serious cash, anyway to just answer a few questions posed to me directly, first am not Ben Kangwa, never been and never will be. Ben Kangwa is a Journalist and his functions are to do with Press Secretary. Am not. Will MMD petition these elections. No we wont, they were free and fair unless we discover something sinister, petitioning elections is a right available to anybody. There is no funeral at statehouse now. It is business as usual. Our president is in Luapula right now. This is not a loss for us . These were not MMD seats. We have won all our ward seats by wider margins, so the hour is still intact
#72 MMD has died in Chifubu: It seems like you do not accept constructive criticism. I am not an MMD supporter, I am just concerned about the Chifubu results. I am sure even Sata is worried because these results are a clear warning to PF and UPND that if they don’t iron out their differences MMD will retain power in next year’s elections. These elections were held at a time when there was much talk about problems in the pact and there is no doubt that that influenced the voter apathy. If the pact breaks up this will be the trend through out the country and MMD will take advantage to win.
Yes PF has won, but you can not accuse MMD of using state machinery to influence the outcome as was the case in Mufumbwe. Any political analyst will tell you that the outcome of the results in Chifubu…
With this defeat I’m sure now william Banda wont have the stamina to sort out Sata as he warned on national TV. He said ati next week Sata akachimona he will sort him out because he blocked G Kunda’s motorcade in Ndola.
MMD WILL SOON BE HISTORY IN ZAMBIA !!!! LOOK AT THIS……… KASAMA BALUSA, SOLWEZI BALUSA, MUFUMBWE BALUSA, CHIFUBU BALUSA, OF COURSE, LUENA IS FOR ‘ADD’ WHAT NEXT? PLOT ONE, ?????????? EFYO BAYA…..TAKWABA UKULAYA IN POLITICS!!!!!!!!!!! UNIP ARE STILL EXISTING AS A SHELL BECAUSE OF THE ASSETS WHICH THEY HOLD HERE AND THERE, BUT MMD ONLY HAD A CLOCK AS THEIR ASSET AND UNFORTUNATELY IT HAS BEEN BROKEN!!!!!! MAY THEIR SOUL REST IN PEACE……..
Victory for what?!!! I was in Chifubu this week. Ala, it’s gone backward under the late PF MP. Zambians should get serious about development. Neither MMD nor PF will bring you the freedom, prosperity and democracy we desperately need. All that was being said were insults. RB this, Sata that … Meanwhile, the people of Chifubu wallow in poverty. Will there be a change now in Chifubu? You must be joking!!!
God help me counsel my Uncle RB now to reconcile with the national before the mantle and the hammer finishes him. MMD CAN DO WELL IF HE STARTS NOW. IF NOT KINDLY HAVE MERCY ON HIM NOW THAT HE STEPS DOWN PEACIFULLY. IT CAN HAPPEN. HE WAS NOT BORN A LEADER. HIS ENEMIES HAVE BLACKMAILED HIM INTO THINKING HE CAN DO WELL
surely hope those are the last by election before 2011 general elections
The significant gain you bum lickers are singing about is because your looser political party, Make Money and Disappear (MMD) concentrated all the efforts and resources on Chifubu. They tried to bribe every living soul but failed. They even tried to gain some sympathetic votes by using the late presidents sister. Come 2011 general election, MMD will have 130 constuences to look at.
cont. fro #107….the results in Chifubu and Luena were as predicted. No one expected PF to lose in their stronghold and we did not expect Milupi to lose(he did his homework before deciding to resign)…but the main message is in the numbers in the result. That is were you analyse trends and possible outcomes. In Chifubu the message is clear, that if PF has not gained much and will need to work together with UPND if they want to increase their share of the vote. In Luena the message is that MMD is losing support in W/P and UPND is slowly gaining support despite coming 3rd. ADD will be a spoiler for MMD in W/P if Milupi’s ADD contest next year’s elections and this is one area they can not afford to lose.
I think it is very unfortunate for MMD to say it is alright the parliamentary seats have gone back to the opposition. I am disappointed with that sort of brain. I expected the MMD to win if people are happy with their performance. It is shameful and surely MMD must read between the lines that things are not alright in their camp rather than continue sweeping gabbage under the carpet. People want nothing short of results as promised to them during the Presidential by-election.
MMD WILL SOON BE HISTORY IN ZAMBIAN POLITICS….LOOK AT THEIR RECORD!! KASAMA, BALUSA,…… SOLWEZI BALUSA,…. MUFUMBWE BALUSA ,…. CHIFUBU BALUSA,…. OF COURSE LUENA BALUSA (ITS FOR ADD)…WHAT NEXT? PLOT ONE,.. YOUR GUESS IS AS GOOD AS MINE.
EFYO BAPWA MUMA POLITICS TAKWABA UKULAYA!!!!! UNIP ARE STILL SURVIVING BECAUSE OF THE ASSETS WHICH THEY HOLD. MMD’S ONLY ASSET IS A CLOCK, NAYO NAITOBEKA.
MTSRIP.
No. 72 (mmd has died in chibufu)
Please I’m NOT MMD!!!!! I was just airing my opinion on the way we vote. And please never group me together with likes senior citizen, patriot, bootlicker etc.
SHAME 13:00 HRS
MMD has lost with pants down…
#114 Zed Patriot…I totally agree with you, if ADD fields at presidential level, MMD will be gone especially with a pact candidate. Looks like UPND are gaining support back in WP. A comparison of percentages shows that UPND has increased it support in WP by more than 10 times. This should be good for the pact.
no MMD on the copperbelt its only in mandevu and johnlenge…oh and bauleni hahaha you bring your money we eat and vote PACT..
There are interesting observations above but the bottomline is that PF won because in their leader they have a very determined person! MMD had the money, government media,FTJ and the state machinery but they still lost! Iam not a supporter of PF but admire the fighting spirit of their leader !
MMD have lost as expected. I hope the new MP will take on the VEEP in Parliament and ask him to honour his promises he made during the campaign. This will show if MMD can be trusted as a govt.
I agree with 122 Shi Philipo. Sata look like someone who can kick start some serious changes for Zambia. MMD thieves have stolen and rooted the country for 20 years. Get rid of them before they sell ZESCO, and them start selling our land to foreigners, and thereafter start selling people!!
Congratulations PF, we are good winners and bad losers. Nga twa wina no rigging, nga twa lusa we console ourselves with rigging. Where are those who have been talking about rigging? Did the PF rig this election then? Or we only talk about rigging because we are bad losers?
The MMD will win 2011 in the same manner that they have won the last three presidential elections. No rigging at all, they simply collect votes across the whole country even in opposition strongholds. The total gives them victory. You see, you cannot be declared Republican president if you sweep Copperbelt and Lusaka, unless your opponent scores nil in those areas.
If any one cut my throat today, i wouldnt care for a thing. I mean this is the reason we said HH must humble himself & work together with Sata & in any case, let him be Veep for his learning otherwise,UPND have failed the PACT in Luena but PF has done us proud. I cant wait to hear tose of you who named Sata a devil & said in any sense Sata has lost populace. We dont just go by little people’s thinking-the writting is on the wall-PF holds much for zambia’s need for change. However, we see a good leader in HH & let him climb thru PF’s ladder properly.
Peace.
MMD was really desperate. Am told their candidate was arrested by the police because he went round giving money to voters as he tried to bribe them. So he was in the police cell untill Copperbelt Minster Mbulkulima went to the Police and had him released. Can you imagin the coruptness of their system, where a Minister can simply instruct the Police to release an offender. I see trouble in the near future in this Country because people can’t take this for long
The reality of the matter is that MMD have just been blowing hot air, they know that their time is up, as for PF congrats but go into the rural Zambia and make the people there know and understand your existence and programmes….well 2011 will be interesting………………nisobelenge
Yes our leader MC Sata has the fighting spirit, passion, vision, to propel zambia, economicaly, into the next centuary. He has great zeal to develope zambia and he knows what lacking with the current hoodrums in power
Well, ba chimbwi no plan may form government next year by hook and crook. Publish your manifesto, some of us seating on the fence might give you a vote! God save mother Zambia.
haha #46 Boot Licker at bwanji? 2:1 in Luena? no sah sole
MMD Chief Bootlicker and senior Citizen are you satanists???? its seems you like what is happening to our Zambian Majority. You are are selfishly comfortable! am sure you can go to extremes just to serve your masters.
pabwatooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Ba Veteran muli balwele, You are sick. Democracy is about the majority votes and not the registered voters. That is why Bwezani is a minority President with only 35,000 and does not want the 50 + 1 clause in the Constitution.
At least we can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
All thieves should take note- Mwapya baisa.
Congrats to PF and Charles Milupi. I like Hon Milupi despite causing a bye election. For me these are the leaders we ought to be investing in. I somewhat tend to agree with #48 but to what extent is always debatable and i relegate such arguments to politics of pansaka. What counts at the end of the day fellow zambians is the calibre of people we send to parliament. We can merry and do all sorts of things but a day reckoning is always near. We need to reflect whether the MPs we choose really have what it takes to represent us. I have seen several elections where we vote on party lines but year in year out these MPs let us down. Its time we critically looked into what calibre we have in our candidates. Are they representatives that we can proudly call honourable?
Zed Patriot – You are a disgruntled MMD Loser -lick your wounds Mother F******ker
MK… I WISH WE HAD ALOT OF YOUR KIND, COZ FROM WHAT I HAVE NOTICED PA ZED ITS PABWATO AND MMD NOT FOR SEEING THE CALIBRE OF THE PEOPLE WE VOTE FOR. AT THE END OF THE DAY YOU FIND THAT SOME MPS ARE CARRIED BY THE WIND OF THE DAY..NO SIKOPO

PF MP %antage reduction (6,976 – 10,815)/10,815*100 = -35.5%
MMD MP %antage reduction (4,539 – 7,969)/7,969*100 = -43.0%
In light of the reductiong in PF and MMD votes for 2010 compared to the 2006 ones, it is clear that the PF and MMD have both dwindled in popularity and the MMD has terribly lost its National presence character.
In terms of differences in 2006 performance between PF and MMD, PF had an advantage of 2846 while the difference now is only 2437 votes in favour of PF –a thing that is worrying.
These numbers must be studied and corrective measures be implemented by both PF and MMD including the UPND.
Voter apathy must also be looked at carefully so that we elect a President of Zambia and leader political leaders who have a sensible mandate from the electorate.
On another note, congrats to ADD for a spirited performance in Chifubu — a thing that shows that ADD wants to be national as opposed to ULP which is getting into oblivion by participating only in Western province by-elections.
Have a blessed day all.

Congrats PF : Wapya munzi the real BOMA yabwela. Thanks to RB he keeps playing his politics outside Zambian and MMD has to call him like Mbesuma to feature in a campagn. PABWATO!!!!
I pity maestro HH hehehe@ 144. Tho his delving into the archives makes him a “data man”, i feel he lucks flexibility in his reasoning and intellegency. Ma bro! tho, well articulated & too long -your blogs. I doubt if the hate you have for Sata means anything at all. In as much as the figures dwindle for PF or MMD. You must know that every year is not the same and every situation is pretty not. Situations have changed and a lot of issues have been hovering around PF & PACT recently but they have still come atop. Thats bravity-proving what yu have done before over & over again. Please, whoever you support, just know that HH cannot win elections now, he needs mentoring or else he will govern us like a shopkeeper.
Peace ma bro!
SC, maybe RB has come a bit to his sense and that has given you confidence. This is the 1st time RB has visited Zambia and spend some time visiting places. He spends time abroad. What is it that the MMD didn’t do to which will make them win 2011. The trend shows. They have lost the seats to the opposition and the opposition is retaining theirs. They used all the taxpayers money, all GRZ vehicles for their campaigns, inported all the image- biulders overseas and the VJ victory just for RB to get that narrow victory over sata. Now you are busy consoling yourselves with an overdose of a self denial pill. IN fact in was a pact. Nawakwi supported RB, before she regained her senses and is now opposing him. Ngondo, though he alone in the party, added his voice to woo some votes to RB**==
congratulation PF viva opposition.
viva if people vote for what they believe what will help them
It was not Sata running for election in Chifubu; it was actually Susan. But Susan won becoz she was associated with Sata. So, that should tell you just how much influence Sata has. Now, when it comes to national general elections, what will matter is name recognition (which Sata has) and how much agony you have caused the people (which RB has done so much). Of course resources (money, transport, media coverage) will have a significant impact, but the ultimate determinant factor is that Zambians now know what animal RB is and they DO NOT want him near State House for another minute. That will drive the last nail in his massive coffin. My RB rest in pieces and never, never, never come back. Kunda will surely be dead by 2011 so I don’t wanna waste my pen stroke talking about that minion.
But ka mulongoti, beware. My friend you will not find use for those suits in Chimbokaila for sure!
#137 Kanyengambeta: I don’t have time for shallow minded people like you. If you don’t know how to argue your case the best thing to do is stop blogging!
137 # Kanyengambeta
Have you ever tried your mother. Enjoy Your Mother, if you can !!
There are so many words that you can use from the English Dictionay to argue your points. You have no substance and are a very frustrated human being. If you cannot stand the heat, let those that can use their intelligence put across their thoughts on this blog…. Zambia deserves better that your comments
This is a debate….not a place where to show of you shallow mind….
PF HAS WON AND IT’S FARE PLAY TO THE NEW MP….

veteran is a fool whose analysis falls short of any insight first he uses the general elections against a by-election tis is a flawed analysis. two the same fool goes on to give his foolish, unobjective pornosis without considering relevant facts and in return fails to notice the ever diminishing surppot for MMD and he shows it by stating that it is the Pf who are in danger man look at the history of voting and how party in power fares.
viva michael sata, viva PF
