President Lungu congratulates counterpart Magufuli

Share

President Edgar Lungu has congratulated John Magufuli, the President-elect of the Republic of Tanzania after winning the presidential elections conducted last week Wednesday in that country.

President Lungu said Magufuli’s re-election represents the satisfaction that the people of Tanzania have derived from his successes during his first term of office.

“On this occasion marking your re-election victory, allow me on behalf of the government of the Republic of Zambia, the people and indeed on my own behalf, to convey our heartfelt congratulations on this great achievement,” he said.

President Lungu commended Dr Magufuli for transforming Tanzania’s social, political and economic landscape resulting in the country being classified as a lower middle-income economy.

He assured Dr Magufuli of the Zambian government’s commitment to further enhance the excellent fraternal relations.

This is according to a statement issued by State House Special Assistant to the President for Press and Public Relations Isaac Chipampe.

  2. Lazy Lungu took office roughly at the same time when he started his first term after taking over from the old man Sata …now just look at how Lungu has destroyed the country as he finishes his second term….absolutely nothing to show for but overpriced substandard infrastructure that is still in the hands of Bank of China.

  3. Even before Covid, Magufuli was not travelling unnecessarily, he was planning and working for his country, there was a year where he barely moved out his country, very different from a typical African President.

  6. Second only to Kagame in Africa.

The Tanzanian president has done well.

How i wish the Gods could smile on us Zambians and give us selfless leaders like our friends in RW and TZ. These 2 leaders have transformed the lives of their citizens. They have implemented sound and sober policies, and results are there for the whole world to see.

And on the other side of the spectrum, where corruption and bad governance camp, we have a leader that has taken his country back to the dark ages. Literally.

  8. We in Zambia have very serious problems the major one is our shallowness in thinking, we only think that criticizing is a show of intelligence. Far from it. If HH ever came to power the same guys sitting behind a work or borrowed internet will continue the same negative energy without thinking. Foreign nationals come to Zambia and succeed but the negative energy all they are concerned about is complaint after complaint but zero development. We do not support our leaders, we criticize to kill and not to build. Shame on us. We want our leaders to bring food on our table. Look at the environment in Lusaka we live like animals despite the good roads now we throw rubbish everywhere and hope that our president will come and clean up.

  9. Spot on, Cholwe. Asia is far ahead of us because of that fundamental aspect. They respect their leaders and have grown to believe in themselves. Like the Chitimukulu said, we Zambians feel safer when westerners approve of anything we do first.

Lungu could never light a candle to this guy or that Botswana guy. What a guy with no shame whatsoever.
Magufuli please come and colonize Zambia even for just 5 years!

  11. John Pombe Magufuli is globally-illiterate. He thinks he can ignore how the world works and beat his own path without observing democratic norms such as allowing the opposition to operate freely. Opposition leaders hv been shot at but this was the least of Magufuli’s worries. He cannot continue on this path for long because Tanzania is just a poor, small and aid-dependent economy. He’ll cross a red line in the sand one day and he’ll realize that the world has a sheriff.
