FAZ Wrangle: And now Referees join in

Share

Referees will not officiate Wednesday afternoon’s league game between ZANACO and Green Buffaloes Football Club scheduled for Lusaka’s Sunset Stadium.

Referees Association of Zambia President Welly Chikuka says his association will not officiate at the games, because they have been informed by Zambia Premier League- teams that they will be no games Wednesday afternoon.

Chikuka said it will be expensive for his association to send match officials when they will be no games.

Chikuka was speaking in an interview with ZNBC Sport from Kasama.

He urged the Football Association of Zambia to listen to stakeholders and resolve the current problems in the local soccer governing body.

Chikuka said this is the first time in the history of Zambian football that teams are boycotting games.

The Zambia Premier League teams Tuesday withdrew their participation in all scheduled games until the Football Association of Zambia convenes an emergency council meeting to discuss contentious issues surrounding soccer administration in the country.

  1. So mwalaumfwa ba Kalu ati no emergency meeting still. All this is happening because of a handful of greddy individuals led by the uneducated Kalusha

  2. Kalusha can you not see that you are going to be shamed big time? Call for that meeting for god’s sake is being Faz president all that important what is it that you what to prove or are you hidding something? You are sure going out in a bad way! Have a good life mate.

  3. Which is this Bwalya who has taken the country for a ride? Is it the same boy who was brought up in Mufurila, failed to score that deciding penalty, Pregnanted Maurine Nkundu, Married a white Lady, and now jumping from one woman to another? or it is some other Bwalya?

  4. Who is this Bwalya who has taken the country for a ride? Is it the same boy who was brought up in Mufurila, failed to score that deciding penalty, Pregnanted Maurine Nkundu, Married a white Lady, and now jumping from one woman to another? or it is some other Bwalya?

  5. Game yabipa.Abena Kalu just has to swallow his pride and listen to reason. He should not continue hiding in FIFA. There are local rules/laws that have to be followed.

  6. Petty Jealous at its best.wait when this petty jealous will be exhibited towards you.Kalu you are great.we shall forever love u.forget about these tribalists like Simataa who resigned own there own.

  7. FAZ presidency is my only way to CAF and FIFA leadership plus more personal glory. What else do I have if you take it away? To hell with the sport. My interests first.

  8. No 7, I wonder what tribalism you are seeing in Simataa. The four people that quit FAZ and brought the Great Kalu administration down are like Kalusha Bwalya, Bemba. They did this out of principle regardless of whether Kalu is their own or not and I hope most Bemba bashers on this side can take a leaf from this nd stop this shameful Bemba smear campaign. As for Simataa, the man’s only crime is carrying a Kwangwa name, otherwise he was born and brought up in Lusaka and the CB. To me, he is Zambian. Period.

  9. # 7, what tribe is Munaile and Violet Bwalya? please do not just talk about tribes here, kalusha must just go period.

  10. I like the silence by the government, knowing only too well that FAZ affiliates can squeeze gret Kalu’z defiance in so many wayz. And away we go….

  11. #10, where have you been? are you the only Jew in Jerusalem who doesn’t know what has happened. you are in Britain, we expect you not to be so behind. a lot has happened at faz, to brief you requires one to take of from other duties. read all stories connected to faz and you will know that the poor management of kalusha made 4 of team to resign making his office dissolved by law but he has denied that fact. so when such a thing happens, according to faz constitution, they must have an emergency council meeting which must decide the way forward. they may choose and interim committee or hold new elections. but kalusha appointed some friends to replace those that resigned.
its doesn’t make sense for me to be briefing you when you have access to internet 24/7.

  12. What can you expect from a Form 5 who did not even do wll enough to go to college? “The Great Kalu” can’t understand such issues about constitutions cause he thinks you can just type out a new one and follow it. He has eventually been forgiven for missing “that penalty” but he shouldn’t take people for granted. Somebody out there give this guy some free education.

  13. Kalu must enroll in some of these online courses in management skills. he would have avoided all this stupidity long time ago. if his vice president did not resign, kalu would have been safe but when people overlook certain issues they find themselves in trouble. gallivanting or crisscrossing the country for district to district will not help him at all. they may even vote him out from way things are going. we just need some one to put a restraining order through the court that the entire faz should not do any of its duties until the council sits. then kalu will wake up without an office and come to his senses

  14. Chi #14.. I thought you are the one with a Chi coulour + 2 bollas. and since you have both, you are in better position to understand football matters than i do. Imona ukupenkemuna kwati ni Ntente.

  15. Munaile is a bemba from makasa in mungwi district. The father was a very prominent businessman in kayambi’ makasa and kalulu areas and he went to school at mungwi secondary school. As for Bwalya as the name implies he is bemba. Have you heard a lozi Bwalya?

  16. Just disrespect because they are dealing with someone who was a footballer recently and they are treating him like a kid! Poor guy Kalu! Hate pa ZED tayakapwe bane! A long way to go!

  17. i knew it was the end of football in Zambia as soon as i heard that kalu was elected faz president. the dude knows nothing about administration and too arrogant.

  18. FAZ presidency is not for the faint hearted one has to be strong. Kalu is doing good. zambian can take Faz pesido for granted thinking that they can remove them any time the wish to. viva Kalu.

  19. Game over Kalu the extra time has finished, the referee is about to blow the whistle oh you are losing. Just accept that you have lost. Those supporting you even em know that you aren’t going anywhere. Shame the game has to finish final minute.

  20. This is utter ridiculous behaviour from the football fans and club officials . I dont know why anyone would celebrate the wrangle going in Faz. but what I know is Kalu is not Faz and football should continue in Zambia. Boycotting by clubs and referees will not solve anything. I am sure Kalu knows exactly what he is doing otherwise he could have resigned a long time ago. This is why the government have not taken any stance. I am sure we all know that RB is a patron and a big cash supporter of Faz . He would have stepped in a long time if he too thought there’s a big problem. The honorable minister of sport who in most cases quick to instruct investigations in various sports associations has not taken a stance either. CAF has kept quite too. So it’s just some individuals who hate great…

  21. # 30 shut ur hole what makes you think that the government is supporting kalusha. Stop living in the past. The government doesn’t want kalu to rush to FIFA once they advise him saying they are interfere with football. It time up kalusha

  22. #31 chama fimo fimo- I did not at any point mention that the government are in support of Kalu. All I said was, non of the government official including the president has issued a statement, let alone condemn Kalu publicly except the rest of you. By the way, why would the government be scared of advising or talking to Kalu in any way. Do you think gvt think FIFA will cry foul?. I didnt know Kalu is untouchable . I am sure the government knows and are aware of the going ons in Faz. If there’s something really wrong with Kalu then let RB or Chipungu intervenes rather than waiting for FIFA to act.

  23. # 30 kalusha is not going anywhere in Zambia coz we don’t dwell on the past. Present in life matters just bcoz I used to play well pipo can’t say anything even if am wrong. Bullshit to hell with great kalu. This is not a football match it’s administration. In zed there is no one untouchable ask FTJ & Kaunda. When pipo say enough is enough you are gone.

  24. # 30 spare us yo ignorance on current FAZ issues & dont show blind loyalty. dont u know that the minister of sports & NSCZ have ruled that yo boss galu shud call for the emergency council meeting coz current FAZ is illegal? No PHD syndrome here its the constitution that matters.

  25. Why am I not surprized that somebody(#34) will bring in the so called PHD syndrome when the FAZ malaize iz there even for the blind to see?!
Am a fan of the ZNBC Radio 1 “Ilyashi Lyapano Isonde” program and I think the przenter, Dr George Mubanga, doez an excellent job of it, but hiz comments (Wed. 03/11/10 at 20hr30) on what iz happening to Kalusha Bwalya/FAZ were way off the mark.
