Mwanawasa is Recovering Well-Cecil Holmes

Share

Presidential Affairs Minister Cecil Holmes says President Levy Mwanawasa is recovering well in Paris, France.

Mr Holmes who has just returned from France however expressed disappointment at some people who were spreading false rumours about the President.

According to the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC)Television news monitored in Lusaka this evening, Mr Holmes urged Zambians to unite in prayers for President Mwanawasa’s quick recovery.

Mr Holmes who was speaking at a church service held at Lusaka’s Chawama Revival Church also commended the opposition for being part of the service.

Some members of the first family were also present at the church service.

Meanwhile, Victory Bible Church Bishop for Northern Province Fred Tobolo has urged Zambians not to be discouraged but continue praying for President Levy Mwanawasa’s speedy recovery.

And acting Northern Province Permanent Secretary Gabriel Kaunda has commended Zambians for the unity they have exhibited in praying for Dr. Mwanawasa’s healing.

Speaking during an inter-denomination prayer service for the quick recovery of Dr. Mwanawasa held at St. John’s Cathedral in Kasama today (Sunday), Bishop Tobolo said people should not be discouraged by thinking that their petitioning of God to heal the President was in vain.

Bishop Tobolo who quoted extensively from the Bible said people should be encouraged by the fact that they believed in a God who answered prayer.

He said by continuing to pray for President Mwanawasa’s healing, all what they were doing was to ask God to act according to His word.

And Bread of Life International Pastor Ponela petitioned God to give insight, revelation and inspiration to the medical doctors attending to Dr. Mwanawasa.

And Roman Catholic Priest Fr. Ives Bantungwa said the interdenominational prayer service, which had attracted scores of Kasama residents from all walks of Life, was a demonstration of the faith people had in God to heal the President.

And Acting Northern Province Permanent Secretary Gabriel Kaunda commended Zambians for standing together in prayer for the recovery of the President.

Mr. Kaunda observed that what was happening in Zambia at this time was a testimony of the oneness which exists in the country adding that this could not happen in many African countries.

He said it was this spirit of oneness which has made Zambia the envy of most African Countries and urged Zambians to continue upholding the same spirit.

Mr. Kaunda who commended various Churches which had gathered said it was important to continue praying for President Mwanawasa’s recovery because the country had just started ripping the benefits of his good administration as evidenced by the positive signs in the economy.

He noted that everyone with eyes could attest to the fact that Zambia was making tremendous economic progress under the able leadership of Dr. Mwanawasa.

The interdenominational service which was also attended by Service Chiefs was organised by the MMD and lasted for over two hours.

President Mwanawasa is currently admitted to Percy Military Hospital in Paris, France after suffering a stroke while attending the African Union (AU) Summit in Egypt.

  1. Sound update. May the good Lord God bless and heal Mr President LP Mwanawasa.
May we unite as one Nation not only for now but for good until Jesus Christ comes to take us to another level in His new kingdom.
    God’s Will be done.

  2. When this statement was uttered members of public are allowed or given an opportunity to ask questions. The US$ 1 Million question are:

    – Is the President on life support machines or not.

    – Why should a spouse(Maureen) and Presidential appointees be the ones to say that the head of state is recovering.

    – Why not allow a medical board or those doctors to give us brief and later take questions from the public.

Failure to meet the above conditions, I can confidently say the state machinery is lying to protect their jobs.

  3. these are lies befitting gullible Zambians and those who desire such lies. The truth is the President needs a miracle to survive and zambians need to beg God to heal President Mwanawasa. Mr Holmes may be white but should not think lies like that can persuade people. Why was he praying if the President was recovering well? Why should people continue fasting if the President is indeed recovering well in the words of one but Cecil holmes.

  4. MMD spin still on?load of political hogwash! Who listens to this anyway.truth of the matter is levy is no more.they are at sixes and sevens! Afraid! Peeing in their pants! Levy may return but in wheel chair and tubes.spin wil continue.maureen 2 emerge compromise candidate.aggrieved wil join PF.teta wil join PF.sata may rule or pass baton.rebel PF MPs to join MMD.HH to join MMD.come 1st november sata or maureen wil b at the helm.sad thing is aint nothing u and i can do.mark my words. confusion all over.

  5. Recovering well? what the heck is recovering well, can someone explain to me, what that vague language means. We are hearing from people who are not even doctors as our News source.
and when are our Newspapers going to stop using the word “stakeholders”

  6. H.E President Mwanawasa SC is a miracle man whose life story is rich and beyond the belief of carnal minds.when God has a plan and place for you, he works to the finish of his plan against all odds. When its time to go home, he has a Joshua for his people to carry on. There is no crisis in Zambia and no need to subscribe to panic inclined alarmists calling for constitutional irregularities. All Government machinery is functional and peace is absolute.Treaties and convetions are binding with our JMC with regional countries observed.President should peacefully recover without concern for the country.Patriotic Zambians remain saluting him with loyalty and love for the country.

  7. This blog is becoming a disgrace to our country, why should everything turn tribal or racist.Someone updates you on the President’s condition on his return & you start saying you cannot believe him even if he’s white.I don’t think race has anything to do with one doing you a favour, many people have been to Paris and have returned to Zambia without uttering a word.Too many chaps with inferiority complex here man,i think we better be careful how we use our freedom of speech, this blog might be closed if things carry on this way.

  8. It is encouraging that there is progress, if this is not just empty political rhetoric. Now, there is this problem of rumours about HE which needs to be resolved because the speculation is as a result of the insufficient updates that are being issued. There is no need for anyone to be dissapointed when people who have not been given enough detail speculate. What people want to know is the exact condition of HE at the moment. Then updates can follow therefrom. It is difficult at the moment to connect the updates to the unknown condition.

  9. #7, I think you are out of touch with realities. Please go and read the constitution of Zambia on 36(1). You don’t just yap without understanding the constiution. Th medical board can never come in play at this time for your own information. This can only happen after the president has finished his medication and cabinet feels he is not able to continue, that is when it informs the chief justice to appoint that board. You must also understand that powers are in the cabinet which consist sober people like Magande, Mutati, Chituwo, Shikapwasha, RB, Masebo etc. These will not just tell the chief justice to appoint the medical board untill they are saisfied the president cannot continue.

  10. Cecil Homes please can you tell us the meaning of recovering in this context. Is LPM still in coma? If so then there is no recovery. We have been through this vocabulary before. I am sure what most of us want to know is the opinion of the doctors todate regarding his likeliness of regaining his functions within say 3months. Talking about functions I dont even know what is, if any, paralysed. Just working with assumptions. True hollow message. He is recovering well from what? COMA?STROKE?HYPERTENSION?SURGERY? Give us one imprtant answer not these hollow updates please

  11. #7. 100 percent right. As long as these updates are coming out from politicians they will keep sounding phony. They are all scared of being rudiculed as we just saw with Teta’s opinion!
Until the medical personel attending to LPM can hold a press conference and take questions. This fear of uncetainity will not go away quickly.

It sounds more like Muareen is running the show. I see this getting ugly very soon!!

  12. All these people speaking at prayer meetings are not giving official updates but sharing information because they care, the person who should be told off is the Vice President because i have noticed updates have now stopped completely.I think the Veep should allow Mulongoti to give an upadate each and every morning and they should change the wording so that it’s simple enough for all to understand.
Anyway, for those who genuinely want to know,Levy is still in a coma and their has been no change in his condition maybe that’s why they are not reporting, meanwhile, prayer meetings are being held daily throughout the world by Zambians and other sympathisers.

  13. Also important to say, our system of Government has a place to see these off tanget talk shows run themselves out without regulating any space. President Mwanawasa a polished Hero of Human rights, freedom and function democracy stands strong to these values. Thus these wishes of carnal mind cannot be denied space.

  14. Is there anyone listening 2 me out there? Am prophesising that come 1st november, maureen or sata may rule.abena copperbelt 4get abt medical boards or MMD big wigs havin power.the people hav power.how long can this spin last?we ar counting the days.levy cant always b said 2 b stable.why no visuals showin him recoverin?why stil no visiting? Aint there any ingenius paparazzi in all europe 2 put our minds to rest by snappio the ‘recovering levy?’remember lady diana’s pics were on the net.despite the M15 coverin

  15. Zeddy, thankyou for that update it is a lot more richer and easy to work with that the ‘he is recovering’. Is it very difficult to say the president is still in coma however……as per the doctor’s opinions. By the way how relaible are your sources? I am sure any sane person whose relative could be in LPM’s state would not accept any of the updates we are getting. And if those are comming from doctors I am sure that would be the time to change the doctors. ‘your father is stable’ do you really think there is any doctor in this world who would give such shallow information. I wont comment about prayers;I have my own reservations

  16. Levy once said he believes in the rule of law but why are his followers in this time of need not interested in the provisions of the constitution? Article 36 is very clear regarding incapacity of a head of state. In fact the Govt said nothing on the illness of Levy until Malone ZAZA gave a fake message and that prompted Mulongoti into gear. ZAZA was wrong but had it not been for him, this govt would have continued lying and cheating on Levy. LPM believes in the rule of law, so let the country invoke the provisions of the supreme law namely constitution and in this way Zambia can give lectures on democracy.

  17. For those of us who seem to have difficulty in comprehending simple English Language, “recovering well” means that the President is getting better. An example may be that the President was taken to France in a semi-coma condition form Egypt, as it was reported by the Egyptian doctors, but now is out of that semi-coma and is responding to the treatment that has been administered to him thus far. To cut a possible long story, it simply entails that the President is much better than he was a while ago, say 2-3 weeks when he was in Egyptian hands.

Nobapati, twasika kabotu kuno kucooko ca-Nswi zipati. Tuzikumubona twaakuboola cifumo munguzu zya-Leza.

    Be blessed you all Zambians.

  18. Einstein,my sources are 100% reliable as i phone Paris directly. It’s very hard to understand but the basic term to use is STABLE,it’s as simple as that and i will explain.
After operations to the stop the hemorrhage and to aid breathing, the President stabilised,he is now breathing well and has been in coma with no visible positive change however there has not been a single day that has caused concern to doctors, the monitors indicate all is steady(same) and i believe that is why the govt is failing to update on a daily basis but i think they should do it on a daily basis every morning so that speculation ends.

  19. Guys, face reality. Levy is no more. They are just sourcing the best wheelchair for him if at all he will come out live. The man is surrounded with monitors and if anyone pulls those wires and tubes by mistake. That is the end of the 3rd Prez of Zambia. These church updates are meant to appeal to your emotions. Let it be told here that the best qualities in a government official is to either tell a lie or keep a secret. Holmes just got both. So, as they are sourcing for the wheelchairs, let us as Zambians start sourcing for the next leader, or else they will impose one on you by twisting the clauses in our constitution. Let them know in advance that we’ll not take that nonsense.

  20. Seeing is believing … those are all empty sentiments. We want to see him, since he has improved! Where was this same chap called Cecil Holmes when we needed him most. lulya ya zanda elo baleisa! 3 weeks without the President is not a joke!

  21. Three weeks without a President or credible evidence of recovery and so called improvements seems too long. Are we not worse than our brothers in Zim who have accepted what Mugabe is telling them? Why are we Zambians so open like a cup that we accept anything and everything that is told to us by these government officials? Sata makes a constitutional suggestion, we start calling him a bad man. So, what do we go by now? Why are we accepting Maureen’s dictations? If she wants to be in control of Levy’s life, let him step down. At the moment Levy is not only a father and husband, but the President of the nation. 12 million + ppl under his control is not a joke.

  22. Life is precious and more important than the Presidency however, the Presidency is more important than the innocent Maureen who is being insulted but she has no control whatsoever, senior figures and intelligence tell her what happens so insult them and the Veep not someone who is worried about the health of her husband and children worried about their father,Presidents will come and go and soon there will be another President so it’s better to shut up & let cabinet decide when the process of change takes place as dictated by the constitution which was made by the people of Zambia not a single person.

  23. Cecil Holmes sounds like Cecil Rhodes, why don’t we have any Presidential Affairs Ministers with names like Wilfred Banda or Justin Mwamba in Europe? Just food for thought, pls. don’t start firing comments at me. I’m still licking wounds from the last round.

  24. #35 Kalos2020. U are right. Levy’s decisions affect the 12 million people. That is why I do not understand the casual approach to this issue. I am sure Investors are worried and we should not be suprised it the kwacha loses value shortly and cuasing a chain reaction with prices goin up.

  25. #34, So that is why we need to go by what your so called enemy Sata suggested. Let them free Mwanawasa from the yoke of serving two masters, the nation and the family. As a nation we also deserve to have our President. If that is an impedement in his health and his recovery, let the constitution help us get a replacement. Bwana, if you are at work, no employer will be discusing how your family feels about you. Levy is our emloyee and for sure he swore to serve us. As such, when he cannot, we get a replacement. But in this case his replacement can only come in thru the constitution. No one is insulting Maureen, but her insulting our intelligence by not telling us the truth about our President

  26. Zeddy, I have told you this before and I am telling you again.Dont explain anything medical to me for all I know is I am medical and you are not. Please Spare me your explanations about STABLE. Let me today reveal the one thing I have always resisted to say. I work at one of the NEUROLOGY centres in UK and I am always discussing such cases with my colleagues. So please respect me on those grounds at least. However, its good to know that we can rely on your inforamtion. By the way exactly who are you? Who do you phone the doctors?

  27. LPM is “stable” in that he is not getting any worse nor is he getting any better. He is on what is referred to as Life-support machines whose function is simply that. After a bleed in the brain, it needs time for the swelling to go down, as swelling prevents functioning of the “electrical connections of the brain, it usually takes a few days for this to settle, after which signs of function return, such as the patient starting to move his limbs & coughing against the breathing machine, as they try to start breathing on their own again. One of 2 things can then be done, allow the patient to wake up & remove the breathing tube or give them more sleeping medicine to stop them ‘fighting ….

  28. Don’t understand the panic. Whether LPM is recovering or not is a fact will all soon know. Remember truth is stubbon & no matter how it’s sugar coated, hidden etc. It just always comes out. In the mean while lets allow the constitution to guide us in during these dark moments & i can’t agree any more with # 18.

  29. #35 Ba Chale, I have noticed you are one of the people who case trouble on this LT. We call people like you “Ntetamisoka”. Would it be a problem to have a President called CECIL HOLMES? You are also against Barack Obama? Cecil is a presidential material, he just happened to have a wrong name and color. I didn’t know names matters in campaigns, then plot 1 will end up with Mumba Kapumpa or Katele Kalumba.

  30. Point of correction # 41, no Human Being has a wrong name and color. That in itself is worse than what # 35 said.

  31. I think I will take a break and just watch as people talk. If LPM is just medically sedated then maybe we have a small window of hope but if it the coma..alas let us wiat the wheels of democracy to start moving as we await his return from paris at best in a wheel chair at worst on a stretcher. LPM to me based on the information available, is gone. Its just a matter of time. I will take my deserved break and concentrate on my family and work.

  32. …the breathing machine to allow more time for them to show further improvement. Without really knowing which part of the brain was affected, it is difficult to speculate the extent of disability & chances of recovery. Signs of worsening would comprise fits, developing infections because of prolonged stay of tubes within the patient. Persons like him with multiple illnesses will tend to struggle to recover from such a condition, because this may cause stress on these other conditions & make them worse or vice versa. Chances of recovery usually manifest themselves early, whilst the longer it takes, the less they become.

  33. #43 Eistein, you will be doing a disservice to our nation and the search for the truth in this journey for true democracy and national development. We know your family deserves more than anyone of us on this blog, but if everyone started withdrawing from this journey, then we are narrowing the path for our very children we want to give more. They will be led by liars, scammers, and worst of all, selfish bloodsuckers.

  34. #43 . Life goes on. No Need to announce your personal crap. Great postings you made I must admit!!
    Katushe mwandi

  35. Einstein,no disrepect but if ur a medical professional & based in UK then u should be the last person here to pretend u’ve no clue what stable means.I apologise if i sounded like i was patronising u but i think it was your own fault as u pretended u had no clue what stable means.Am a professional too but not in the medical field however during my student times,i worked in a major hospital & know quite a lot about depts in hospitals.
Just as you cannot disclose who ur inthe public domain,i cannot disclose who i am but i can tell you that i don’t phone doctors in Paris but i call relatives at bedside including the first lady and her aides.

  36. #38 you are being a bit rich now, about a week ago you were admonishing someone for speculating about LPM without having the facts… So now which such cases do you discuss with your so called colleagues .. if you say “web-based cases”, then trully your postings are “goooodoo!!”

  37. Okay guys just spoken to a well placed source and she tells me that LPM is still very ill(in a coma) and is just responding to stimuli he has not spoken since he collapsed in Egypt.
I am no docter but am sure if this was a case in the western world there could have been steps being taken to find a new president.
I blame the guys at the top for playing delaying tactics. No desrespect but LPM will not be able to carry on.The sooner the guys at the top accept this the beta.LPM has done his part let the old man rest. Its time for new blood to take over.God bless ZAMBIA

  38. Kaloss 2020, I am just taking a break I will definitely be back. I must say I am probably, like most of the zambians in my field, more affected than others. My work involves exactly dealing patients in LPM’s condition. And I feel sad when people can accept the simple truth before our own eyes. I have my own statistics of patients but 3 weeks in coma is a nightmare. I felt compelled to partially reveal what I do because some people think I am thick and cant understand the simple word STABLE. And yet to me I am itching to see his test results, his imaging, himself, his medical notes so that I can clear my mind. #43 thankyou but I will announce even my come back if that makes you sick I am sorry

  39. “Einstein” do you have a double personality disorder, you seem to be attacking yourself at #43 in your posting at #51, & by the way, #49 is for you!!

  40. # 49, I dont discuss LPM. I discuss related cases as part of my duties in the multi disciplinary meetings or when I need a second opinion or even third. I spoke in very general terms that if LPM is still in coma then ….. Nothing definite. I still stand by what I said medicine is about facts and not rumours. I have seen patients presenting with headache but on full examination you realise that they had tempered with their cervix etc. Never trust until you have examined I think thats the first lesson . I urge you to read my posting on 38 again. I work in neuro and LPM has a neurological condition. I discuss similar cases. Is that too difficult to understand

  41. For practical purposes, its wise to work on the assumption that he is sadly NOT going to make it.Cecil Holmes should have given more details that the above, there is nothing new. its bla, bla, pray? people obviously need more.

  42. Iwe Einstien wila bepa abantu with your claims of Neuro, if you are neuro, why are you discussing these cases with other discplines – Neuro means experts, others should come to you for opinions, not neurologists going to gynaecologists. By the way how did you find your self looking at the cervix in Neuro???? mambala tule kusosela ku GMC!!!

  43. Einstein,i did not call you thick but i must admit it’s disppointing that we have peole like you being a medical professional & not helped bloggers here to understand what coma is but joined the bandwagon of people who have just decided that anyone in coma is dead,am pretty sure some people have woken up from coma and recovered at least to regain a little bit of independence,i have also read some consultants positive results of people who have recovered fully but i cannot be surprised much by your sentiments as medical professionals contradict each other all the time.
For sure Levy might not rule but may survive to carry on being head of a family so we should have sympathy & hope for that.

  44. Zeddy, I never said I dont understand the word STABLE. Read my postings again. What I have said is that there is no doctor in this world who would just say ..is STABLE. They would always give their opinion about on both sides negative and positive. It does not mater at which stage. Opinions in medicine change daily depending on the new test results, patient’s condition, imaging results etc. And I have always said that to the best of my knowledge the doctors must have given GRZ such an opinion and it is that opinion which they must tell the nation so that the nation prepares itself but of course hopping for the best. If you talk to the first Lady then I personally can rely on you for updates

  45. The govt thought we would agree if it uses cecil because the man is white!!
It’s like he’s also benefiting in telling lies to the people of Zambia.did this Cecil Holmes see lpm in hospital?how could you allow people who are related to mwanawasa to update us all the time.at the moment we can get an update from everywhere.even people not supposed to update us would do that.I think i’ll also update u one day.where is govt? when sharon got sick,we used to see doctors saying something even info- minister. If lpm is doing fine why can’t they show us a photo?it’s no wonder whites laugh at us africans.sometimes it’s hard to understand what’s wrong with us.

  46. Zeddy, I have in many postings explained coma including the best case scenario and worst case scenario. Those who genuinely wanted to understand I am sure have benefited. Other people also have tried to explain. Its very difficult to compress the info lest you mislead people and thats why I have tried to be extremely careful. If there are still people who dont understand coma I will be glad to explain this to them. My argument has been one as stated on 57 because that is standard practice in medicine even if the operation is of such a nature that the chances of a fatal result are remote the patient/relative should still be told. If that line of reasoning is disappointing then its a pity.

  47. Einstein, maybe you missed one of my posts last week,i had actually mentioned that consultants looking after Levy said at this moment,it’s too early to make an informed opinion on prospects of recovery however they are happy with indications based on tests they have done. They say it may be up to 40 or even 90 days before Levy even moves slightly but things can change anytime that is why they monitor such patients 24/7.
The relatives that inform me may not have been told things using medical terms but that is how it was translated. The best people who have detailed information are Levy’s personal Physicians & Doctor Chituwo.Am sure they also have their own opinions & have advised the cabinet.

  48. Zeddy, I have seen a patient coming for a relatively simple interventional procedure of placing a stent (a small wire mesh) in the coronary artery to dilate the colapsed walls going to the morgue when they came driving. Chances of death are 1 in a 1000. But there are also a lot of success stories. So rule of the thumb state both sides. This is the message I have stated again and again. Trully speaking I dont understand if tell me he is stable without any accomapanying info. But if you tell me he is still in coma but stable that shades more light. Likewise, I dont understand if you tell me he is recovering satisfactorily. My question would be is it from the stroke?Coma or surgery? Surgery

  49. Dear Zambians,
Lets live Levy to ‘recover’ from what ever he is suffering from and get on with running our country. The fact is that he will not be able to continue as head of state.I wonder why people waste there time with irrelevants.People get sick all the time and retire on medical grounds all the time,LPM’s issue is no different.
From an economic and financial back ground I am so concerned about our fragile economy and the drastic effects it will have on our ordinary Zambian people who worry about their next meal.Guys I would rather we blog about who will take over as pres and not about a sick man all day.Lets get real!!!

  51. Einstein,i get what you’re saying & to be honest, all of us have been told chances are 50/50 but am sure you understand Levy is head of a nation and to govt it may not be ok for them to tell the nation exactly that but instead go with advice given by doctors to wait a little bit longer as things can change suddenly as this happens,am sure they wouldn’t say because Levy’s left side of the brain is damaged so this will happen etc but instead, they say let’s wait a little bit & with hope however let’s not be too optimistic, that fact they’ve not hidden & that is why senior govt officials travelled, they’ve done their planning already so let’s not insult govt for not being prepared, they are.Gudnite.

  52. ctd from 61..surgery carries with it the risks of infection, not being successful etc and doctors are worried about all this. So indeed a patient can be recovering from surgery but not from their ailment. Such is the clarification I have asked for. Opinions in medicine are usually based ones own exposure and statiscs thats why it is very difficult to outrightly say that can never happen what if someone has encountered it in their experience. Each day you learn knew things from colleagues. I never said you arent a professional. I can confess I know very little about our constitution and I rely on others to interpret for me.

  53. # 58, Whites are more trustworthy than our own blacks. I can trust son of colonial master, Cecil, than dubious MMD, especially listening to Mulongoti who is depending on advice from Katele and Vernon Mwaanga.

  54. Chilanga cement ba zambeef, you have a point although some of your previous posts have been rather too harsh or show lack of sympathy, anyway, that’s the beauty of democracy, anyone can choose what they wanna be.So you’re also in the biz worls eh,good,no wonder you were saying the economy is being affected by Levy’s illness,am sure we will argue on that one again sometime since we seem to be in the same field, for now let me go & rest.

  55. Zeddy, I saw that posting and I actually replied to it. I have no quarel with that 40/90 days afterall statistcs has it someone awoke from coma after 37 years (extremely isolated case but it happened). What I strongly believe is that doctors have stated their likely opinions and that 40/90 is just additional information. People deserve knowing the likely outcome of LPM’s condition. But again, practice differs from jurisdiction to jurisdiction and maybe that is the French way. Thats one thing I have been forgeting, maybe. But I think thats stressful on the people affected. Iam sure you understand that.I always say we should brace ourselves for the worst but hope for the best.

  56. Zeddy, dont assume. I am hearing the 50/50 chances from you and the left side of the brain from you. By the way are you giving an example or you are telling me that LPM’s left side of the brain is damaged? How much damage do you know? Gudnite you have given me some homework. Frankly, its sad and with him out God only knows what those thieves are doing. It is a known fact that most of our leaders require a watching eye on them ad LPM is that eye. Gudnite.

  57. Einstein,i agree with you @#68,one time i had actually said that the editorial column of The Post was right by saying ”Hope for the best”,prepare for the worst otherwise we cannot say for sure that levy is going to die as there is only one creator who decides someones destiny, medical professionals just go by guess work sometimes and have been defied!
One thing to remember is that the govt is definately ready whatever the outcome but they have to keep the nation intact & don’t say they are wrong by not disclosing some information as it regards the commander in chief of all armed forces in the country that is why not even a small country can show its ill President in his bed.

  58. No no no,i didn’t the left side of Levy’s brain is damaged,i was just giving an example of what information they cannot say to the nation even if it was the truth.
    Gudnite Chief

  59. ANONYMOUS dont be too ignorant. Most people specialise after being junior for some time and during that period in most countries you do everything. Even during training and interniship you get wide range of exposure. I dont need to discuss myself any further for this forum is not about me. Give me your email if you want then we can link up if you want. Gudnite

  60. “ZAMBIA Medical Association (ZMA) president Dr Swebby Macha yesterday said it is premature to set up a medical board to examine President Levy Mwanawasa’s …”

Any sensible human being who understands that the country is governed by the constitution will know that the suggestion by those who don’t read about setting up a medical board to go and look into the capacity of the president to continue rulling the country cannot be done now.

I read and I know that what satan was proposing is wishful think and his minions and blind blind followers who don’t read the constitution are just barking and wasting their energy.

  61. FYI # 58 and 66. Cecil Holmes is LPM’s relative. The guy has stayed in Chibombo for most of his life. Mwanawasa appointed him High Commissioner to Botswana, 2003, I think. I know for sure because he is a relative to a close friend who has just returned to Zambia after 5 years in Botswana – In short, I do not trust him and more than I trust Maureen. Mulongoti has just played a spin on you.

  62. #66,tht’s why govt is using whites to update u .they know africans trust whites more than their own people.

  63. # 67 Zeddy,
no hard feelings my man.Am just very passionate about our state of economy.Dont get me wrong i have nothing againest LPM I just think he wont come back and you being a finance professional will agree with me on many points.
If LPM gets better good, but the country can not afford to wait for him.
Zeddy I suspect you must be related to the 1st family and you are extra sympathetic to the situation, maybe i could have also been ignoring the true issues if i was in your shoes. But am not and i see beyond sympathy.I see Zambians who will be facing the effects of yet another fuel price rise, students who have to wait for two years before going to UNZA,i see people who are working under

  64. After finishing $ they’ll annouce tht lpm is not fit 2 rule zambia.
    wait and see.
give u more 3weeks, truth will come out.i’ve a source here in moscow.mukomfwako bane

  65. ANONYMOUS multidsciplinary meetings involve everyone having a share in the ptient. In our case this involves neurologist, neurosurgeons, neuroradiologist, neuroanaesthesists, nurses and selected train staff. All the disciplines above are indepndent of each other hence MULTIDISCIPLINARY MEETING is that clear enough for you sir?Its just like a BOARD MEETING does it comprise accountants only or economists only? Happy?

  66. Zeddy, if as you say the left side of the brain is affected, then the severity of his condition is serious, as left brain in right handed person is the dominant side (i.e. most of his functioning is controlled by the left brain); As such, a prognosis given would be guarded, hence they are advising to give a longer period of observation, hence what we have to pray for is he doesn’t develop complications arising from the various interventions such as the breathing machine or prolonged immobilization.

  67. why i can’t post some messages!they’re not going if i mention some names.has anyone experienced tht before 2day?

  68. continued from # 68
harsh foreign investors,i see young zambian girls going out with sugar daddies because they cant find jobs.Zeddy this is what i see,so please forgive me for not being too sympathetic towards your relative.I dont think you have any sympathy for our ordinary zambian people. From day one I have called upon Zambians to move on and i will continue to say this.it is sad but thats what we have to do.Ask any medical docter and they will tell you that being in a coma for two weeks is very critical and the probabilities of coming back normal are extreamly low.Ask me the effects of uncertainty over the head of state on the economy and i will tell you that they are extremly drastic.

  69. continued from # 76

  70. Please, stop interpolating and extrapolating on the credible information that has come from Mr Minister Cecil Holmes. His position was clear even for a Preschool going person to understand as I have unpacked it on #26.

There is nothing to hide and the full truth will be seen (not revealed) by all who will be there at an appropriate time. As of now, a lot of privacy is needed to allow those at the bedside of Mr President to concentrate on showing him faces which assure him that all is well at home and he is still in full control of the Country and Nation – Zambia.

  71. # 83 Tobaku-musanza
Go and make love to your fat urgly wife,i bet she has not has an orgasm for years, you are talking $hit out of your smelly ass!!!!

  72. #85 his a villager on grz payroll one of the many who talk out of thier asses and guess what he flew to France on tax payers money!!!

  73. Thank you #84. Remember to confess that sin to the good Lord God although I have already forgiven you.

  74. #88, I hope you come from a home and not a house only – as in building. Sorry, but I expect a person who is able to use a computer to think before he/she types something. Let us learn to remember always to teach sound morals and values as we deliberate on these NEWS issues to our/your Zambian (and also World) children.

Anyhow,Take care #88 and thank you very much one more time.

  75. Zambias economy has been growing but for a few. The economy is only creating more wealth for foreigners owning companies.Zambians own utu Ntemba.80% of the so called employed earn less than $150/month.The economy is growing on paper thanks to the high price of copper, the ordinary Zambian gets zero.To hell with MMD!We need a goverment that will improve not only the economy but the lives of poor Zambians. The hour has come for a new era for the sake of my poor fellow Zambians who can’t even blogg.

  76. #84 Ak-47 —-> this is a discussion board. People are free to express themselves and their beliefs. If you don’t agree with them, that’s fine. There is no reason to be rude and unruly. While I personally do not agree with the sentiments of Tobaku-musanza, that’s no reason to respond in the way you did. Your response should be directed to one Cecil Holmes and not other bloggers.

  77. Big ups to all you bloggers out there. You live in the land of the free.we may differ in our opinions but we meet in kasama.

  78. #90 THANKS ALOT BROTHER.ZAMBIAN PEOPLE ARE THINKING ECONOMY IS DOING FINE MEANWHILE THEY GET $200 PER MONTH. IN MOSCOW A WAITER GETS $1000 AND ABOVE ,JUST LIKE A ZAMBIAN ENGENEER.FOREIGHNERS IN ZAMBIA ARE GAINING A LOT.HERE IN RUSSIA FOREGHNERS ARE NOT EVEN ALLOWED TO WORK.JOBS ARE 4 RUSSIANS.EVEN IF IT’S FOREIGN COMPANY EMPLOYEES MUST BE RUSSIANS.ZAMBIANS WAKE UP! BEFORE WE LOSE ALL OUR RESOURCES.WE CAN JUST SAY THT ECONOMY IS BOOMING WHEN U SEE CHANGES TO THE LIVING STANDARD OF PEOPLE.THE CHANGES I’VE SEEN IN RUSSIA WITHIN 5YEARS CAN’T BE EXPLAINED.IT CAN TAKE ZAMBIA 150YEARS.
ZAMBIA’S ECONOMY IS ON PAPER.KWACHA APPRICIATION IS NOTHING IF PEOPLE ARE STILL SUFFERING.THT’S NOT ECONOMY

  79. AK 47 talk sense not insult individualls. The problem is we are not getting any updates from doctors. Its the health of the Head of state, Its always Mulongoti calling Maureen, or relative on bed side, now its this musungu telling us lies. maybe just went to france for something else never even visited the hospital even him just called a relative while in France. We need proper update as we pray for president, how can they continue lying and praying and expect God to answer prayers.

  80. Country men and women,it is Jehovah God who appoints and disappoints Presidents,so if HE,the Lord Almighty thinks Levy is still for us,he shall rise from that coma in Jesus Name.So ,let us just wait until God reveals the next issue on our Dear Levy.Period!Patience is Gloden in issues like this one.

  81. It is sickening to have a situation like this and this could have been avoided if there was a VP. PLM did this for a purpose this is dictatorship in a quiet way.

People wake up!!! PLM left a vacuum there so that he will be in full control of the affairs in government. When PLM is sick, the whole country is stack. Look at these so called MINISTERS they are all stack and boot-licking.

In our day and age, it takes more than one person to build a successful and vibrant economy. obviously not in ZAMBIA we are waiting for the president to come back.

GOOD LUCK BECOS WE NEED IT.

  82. I am so happy to be assigned Zambia as my mission. Now I have proved it “icalo ba pata abantu ba mwena ku nkoko”. This Zambians at this KalingalingaTimes.com are true examples of weak spirits. I was barred to preach by your former Vice-Pres. Nevers Mumba. He told me “teka fitalale…” There are Pules, M’membes and some village-grown ministers, they will undress you. So boys and ladies, I am here to preach real politics

  83. It’s sad that FTJ left legacy of not grooming somening to suceed him like what Mandela did to Mbeki. Maybe even him was thinking of handpicking someone. If our politicians were not selfish and bootlickers by now they would have come up with the wayforward. we are tired of the stable condition for several weeks now. Even when LPM recovers he should be allowed to rest and handoverpower. he has been a great leader despite his bad health.

  84. # 95 When professionals indicate that an economy is doing well its never judged by how much an engineer or teacher earns espercially in the early stages. There are certain indicators that signal this +ve change that they look at. It takes some time for this gain to be felt but with time & right policies in place we might just get to were Russia & all the other countries are. Remember the country you refer to never got to were Zed got economically so their rise was easier with just a few policy changes.

  85. The strength of our country is in the maturity and rational judgement of the citizenry in majority than a few rumpens calling for irregular constitutional procedures.

Dr Macha rules out medical board for Levy

ZAMBIA Medical Association (ZMA) president Dr Swebby Macha yesterday said it is premature to set up a medical board to examine President Levy Mwanawasa’s condition because he is still receiving treatment. And Republican Vice-President, Rupiah Banda said it is extremely unfair for people to call for a medical board to examine President Mwanawasa.

  86. Commenting on calls by some Zambians including Patriotic Front (PF) president, Michael Sata, that a medical board be constituted, which should travel to Percy Military Hospital to ascertain whether President Mwanawasa was fit for the Republican Presidency, Dr Macha said a medical board could not be set up while a person was still receiving treatment.Dr Macha said the board could only be set up after the treating physicians had indicated that they had treated a patient for a reasonable time but had not recovered.

  87. “We do not set up a medical board if somebody is still receiving treatment. The board can only be constituted after the recovery period and it also depends on the condition of the patient because some conditions are painfully slow, recovery process is slow in which time the physicians or doctors looking after the patient have been actively attending to that patient. In that case, a board cannot be constituted,” Dr Macha explained. “It will not be reasonable to set up a board now because he President Mwanawasa is still receiving treatment. It takes time to be treated, so it’s up to the attending physicians to say that we have indeed treated this patient for a reasonable time and a medical board can be constituted. To constitute a medical board while a person is receiving treatment will be premature.”

  88. Dr Macha said the recovery process of a person who has suffered a second stroke or the stroke where the patient has clots in the veins is usually very slow.

“As a medical association, we feel that even if a person is a public figure, they deserve confidentiality regarding their medical details. But the attending physician should give the information to the family and it’s at the discretion of the family and or any concerned government officials to decide which information to give to the public.

  89. “Please, you know it’s not fair, the man has just been in hospital for two weeks and we are already doing that kind of a thing. I find it difficult to discuss that,” Vice-President Banda said. “Of course they have their right to call for whatever they want but myself, please excuse me. I don’t think it’s fair. We are also depressed about what is happening. What kind of society will people think we are if we did a thing like that? It is extremely unfair. We are all praying for our President.”

  90. Dr Macha said although President Mwanawasa was a public figure and his illness concerned Zambians, giving all the details on his condition would border on breaching his privacy.
And in an interview yesterday, Vice-President Banda said President Mwanawasa had only been in hospital for two weeks and it was unfair for people to call for the setting up of a medical board.

  91. Almost everyone believes that the president might not come back and continue his duties in office.

So how long should we wait given the medical condition of the president and what are the chances that he will fully recover from the stroke.

The Zambian people are left in the dark guessing what is really wrong with PLM. Information is not fully disclosed so we think they are hiding something really bad.

This medical association is wasting everyone’s time. I say they tell us what is really wrong good or bad so we can prepare our selfs.

  92. Meanwhile, UPND youth chairperson, Joe Kalusa, advised the MMD to be wary of Sata whom he described as a Judas Iscariot over his calls for a medical board to examine President Mwanawasa.
Kalusa said Sata wanted to travel to Paris to see President Mwanawasa but when the government rejected his position, he decided to start pushing for a medical board to determine the President’s condition.”Let Mr Sata not pretend that he loves Mwanawasa, he hates Mwanawasa. Mr Sata is a Judas Iscariot and he is trying to betray President Mwanawasa by calling for a medical board,” Kalusa said.
Kalusa, who was responding to Sata’s attacks on UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema with the permission of the latter, advised the PF leader to stop calling Hichilema a provincial leader.

He said UPND was more national than the PF because it has members of parliament in most provinces and councillors in eight provinces.

Kalusa said the UPND maintained its position that constituting a medical board at this time as proposed by Sata and PF would be too early because President Mwanawasa was still receiving medical treatment.

President Mwanawasa suffered a stroke on June 29 this year in Egypt, a day before the African Union (AU) heads of state summit in the resort city of Sharm-el-Sheik.

President Mwanawasa was admitted to Sharm-el-Sheik International Hospital before being evacuated to Percy Military Hospital in Paris, France on July 1 where he is still admitted.

  93. HH wa fake. He should just shut up. Sata is talking sense. HH is not even provincial leader, he is ward leader.

  94. Cecil Amos is not a white man. He is actually a dark – skinned coloured with a strong dose of Lenje blood. As #74 correctly indicates, he is a relative of LPM on the father’s side. Someone I know who was with him at Munali says at school he was known as John Amos. He changed the name to Cecil Holmes in later years for reasons best known to himself!

  95. Hi country men & women.

I thankyou all for all the comments and knowledge we’ve shared
on this column. Its indeed taking life to another level.

conecerning President LPM, the truth is we all don’t know as to whether the man is alive or dead. only God the almight knowns the truth of his existance on earth.

The man is still in coma…. meaning he’s half dead. and God will intervain.

  96. Dr. Macha
Who do you serve and who pays your salary? I think I’ll ignore your sentiments.

We dont have to wait anymore for LPM to receive treatment. He suffered brain hemorrhage. He’s not gonna pull through that easily. No need to wait fellow country men, lets get medics to check him out.

It is only in uncertain situations that we need to wait. But in LPM’s case it clear that something is wrong in his brain, hence need to immediately send medics there!

  97. can Cecil Amos tell the nation, the truth on the recoery of the

president. we have head of the stabilit and now the recovering.. recovering from what? and to what extent

has He reveored? has he started talking or making movement? please Cecil Amos let us know.

  98. This forum has some people who should take time to read the Zambian constitution instead of just waffling. LPM or no LPM this country has a constitution which will guide us through in any situation like KK said. There is no need for alarm and suspicion. LPM is very sick and all we need to do is allow him time to recover. The doctors themselves have a time frame in which they assesses the condition of the patient.
The condition of LPM is a national security issue and every patriotic Zambian should understand that announcing every fluctuation in his condition will cause corresponding fluctuations in the political, social and economical environment of the country. Wish him a quick recovery

  99. I expected Mr Holmes to tell us more, he could have told us that they spoke before he left with the President! what exactly was said, how his condition has improved from a coma! to what if that was the case or from a case case of pain , now the wounds are recovering. To tell us no his recovering we dont knw from what! am lost…………..

  100. no 118 why dont u go to FRANCE to find out u fool i hope one day u will have same kind of a problam and let us see how much info can you give us

  101. I expected Mr Holmes to tell us more, he could have told us that they spoke before he left with the President! what exactly was said, how his condition has improved from a coma! to what if that was the case or from a case of pain , now the wounds are recovering. To tell us how his recovering, we dont know from what! am lost…………..

  102. gentle men why is it the govt can not allow any zambia to visit
the president at that Hospital in france. Hence find it hard to
chew this blocking of people…. as you all know we fricans
and zambians in particular we so much in the spirit of
visitating people who are sick and murning with those who have been weeping for thire loved ones. Now why with the father of the nation, should the demon of the govt prevent and stop people from visting. is it because its a military Hospital or there could death of the president that they do not want any of us to be alarmed of.. oooh come on gentle men we are used to deaths nowardays. let some go so that we can know the way forward.

  103. for the moment, prayer can wait….not a sunday today but monday. Give the right infor and not just some Holmes guy went to France or something, then it means he was by his bed side(LPM´S).

  104. Too many sources of information. Roops, Kamtanda, houses etc…
Who is fooling who? As the adages goes… You can fool some people sometimes but you can’t fool all the pipo all the time.

  105. hey Cecil, tell us the truth and show that our prayers ave been answered by showing us a clip of our belevoed match commissioner,LPM.how many people are gonna be reporting to the nation?

  106. Kalos2020 spot on!!!@how I wonder why ZNBC called the recovering of LPM news. The news here is Cecil Holmes is back from France. There is no difference on the updates that RB has been giving us. Nothing has changed. if i were at the ZNBC my headline would have been Cecil Holmes back from France… What next now that LPM is and has been in stable, satisfactory and now recovering condition? we should not have short term thinking. We need to follow the constitution thank God we are a peace loving nation.

  107. 122 mike its time learnt express youself if at all you never went to school.. its information all of us need. mr holmes went there and details has he give on the recovery of the president. therefore take it easy my dear friend. the fact mike is you and I will one go down 6 fit so is everyone.

  108. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  109. zzzz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!zzzzzzzzzzz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! please buzz me when something conclusive comes out of these updates coz they are making me sleepy!uuhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!

  110. Cecil Holmes is just another standard bootlicker without any clout. In what status was he allowed to visit the president when other could not have access. Is he also a member of the family tree.

  111. # 128 you know were i give credit to our security wings is that they are capable and experinced in protecting our President. I sallute the men and women in uniform. You can imagine all the powerful media houses couldn’t manage to access even a clip of LPM starting from Eygpt and now France, thats what we call good security restriction. Even the doubting thomas this time around has been terribly trobled. Quick recovery LPM, we need you back.

  112. Primitive pipo still believe he is dead. The best we can do is pray for him and Zambia. Truth of the matter tho is that we getting another president.

  113. YES! Cecil Holmes z actually a branch in the family tree. That information he gave was so hollow.
Sata shud jst shut up & concetrate on recuperating.

  114. # 135. Mponda Matiki,
Maybe they just dont care. To the non Zambian media PLM is no news.
By saying he is responding to treatment, they mean he is breathing with out a ventalator, but still brain dead.

  115. I am still wandering why the President’s doctors have not given us any official statement on the president’s health. Nevertheless, I continue praying for his quick recovery….

  116. Anonymous @ #79
I did not say doctors said Mwanawasa’s left side of the brain is damaged, that is an example i gave saying they cannot tell us such details,if you read the follow up comments from me then you would have seen that i clarified it was just an example of what information govt can’t disclose in public.

ba Zambeef,no hard feelings.Regarding the economy,i stick to what i said the other week, there are no significant negative changes in the economy apart from what the rest of the rest of the world is going thru(economic recession) due to oil problems and investors in Zambia r not in panic mode however the BOZ governor had to explain to pessimists that all is in control.

  117. Wow,it looks like Zambians now thinks all cabinet members,Ambassadors,High Commissioners etc are related to Mwanawasa.Cecil Holmes is not related to Levy, him coming from Chibombo where Levy has some family members including businesses does not mean they are related, give us a break please,i don’t think even a fool can employ only his relatives & friends but yes he has admitted he has a few relatives who are MP’s and he has employed them some have even been fired.

  118. we are tired of this nonsense!!it’s time to act now.govt seems useless to allow always relatives of lpm to update us.is zambia a chiefdom?zambian people also are so lazy when it comes to acting.always we accept anything even if we know tht govt is telling lies.if we remain calm like tht zambia will never deveolp.it takes people who are serious to develop a country.look at zim,now everyone is a billionaire.we can b become zim no 2 if not careful.investors are withdrawing their $ now i’m talking.a country can’t be on auto pilot 4 3weeks.we don’t even know the acting president.

  119. I think these politicians r just taking us for a ride.First they should clarify the condition of lpm,how can someone recover from nothing? Let them tell us from what condition is levy recovering then we will be able to understand whether its for sure recovering or worsting.a person only recovers from a certain condition. We really want to know his condition not these not these recovering stories which have no base.

  120. As zambians pliz lets unit and pray for our leader we should be patient recovery from such illness takes time.God is in control.

  121. “He said UPND was more national than the PF because it has members of parliament in most provinces and councillors in eight provinces.”

I like this one #111. Some uncultured characters think that they can mislead the whole Nation. The results of the 2006 President and Parliamentary elections are there for anyone who READS – for him/her-self, not just told by people whose school background is questionable – and UNDERSTANDs to see. HH is more popular than Hon. Sata through out the Country.

  122. Only the oppostion parties will force GRZ to addmitt PLM will never be presido again. It is in their intreast if the think they can smell electrol victory. But the most vocal of them ,Sata has now jumped in bed with GRZ and seems to be tired.
GRZ seems happy with the status quo with ministers fearing losing their jobs if there is any change.

  123. Those of you are don’t believe what Gov is saying about Prez. Do someting practical. Bring the matter before the High Court and ask the court to force the govt to take you to Paris or whatever you want, stop making noise of this forum. I am sure if you see Levy, you will change is start saying te stroke was not true.

  124. Ba Mpandamano #41, am I a trouble maker just because I speak my mind, kwena? I’m not the only one who has questioned about Cecil Holmes as you can see. If I was the trouble maker here on LT, as you label me, I would persist with my comments on the dangers of having a white people in African governments but I’m not going to do that. Pembeleni first, muza zi onela mweka.

  125. everyone now knows who the stupid fool is in this saga!! hahahahahaaaa…satana is a fool and devil…VIVA HH,Teta and Dr.Macha…satana uwile fafasi…..

  126. Am disappointed with the insults.this blogg must b profesional.anyway ba mponda matiki, paparazzi ar tricky.for all i know pics of levy in tubes wil show up on the net soon.someone at percy has taken pics&wil soon leak them.cecil being white dont matter.ba zeddy bakamba, can u give us a proper update now.einsten boyi u hav educated us.thank u.i concur with prophet levy-the blogger, not our levy-maureen wil emerge as alternative.mind u public sympathy wil spur her on.only sata cant stop this family tree biz

  127. Does it mean every jim and jack who goes to France can give a report on Levy? My understanding is that RB was the one mandated to give updates so how come this fool Cecil Rhodes or whatever is now giving updates. Can we have one person giving updates. This whole thing is now a circus.

  128. Where is and are the medical reports? They should publish them!! Only then can I believe!!! Seeing is being—oolddd saying!!!

Only when someone visits a witch doctor can they not have a medical report! A medical report can help boost investor confidence and freeing our rstless mind!!!

Who can be responsible enough to publish it. I need the medical report please!! I once saw Chiluba’s in the paper!! What of for LPM!!

  129. QUICK RECOVERY MR PRESIDENT!
Hey, even if it takes 1 or 2 years for LPM to recover, its ok. We dont need a new president for now. We can as well just wait for 2011. Since a supporter of LPM its not good for his appointed ministers to lose jobs before 2011. Let them finish the term. After all they can control themselves even in the absence of a Leader. As you have seen Teta is already behaving very well, and so far all ministers remain united even without ‘anyone’ (RB is unip as you know) to report to. So I agree with all those ‘intelligent’ pipo against genuine medical updates. After all it is our culture to ‘respect’ the sick.

  130. Zambia is just a big circus overpopulated with clowns. Every thing is a joke no wonder any one can say what they what. It has become a free for all scenario any fool can now give an update on LPM.

  131. #7 i like your opinion,,,,,’dokota’ Cecil holmes come up with a different lie this one aah aah it has not worked. We as Zambians need stuff from doctors not just any body. Who is Cecil Holmes? a Doctor or what! …..IS THE PRESIDENT ON MACHINES OR NOT..

  132. This is the only Head of state whose illness is being handled by laymen, who have no slight idea about medicine. This day its Mulongoti, then RB,then Holmes; typical of MUPPET SHOW featuring SESAME STREET.

  133. Whatever the situation with LPM we are assured that we are not in a crisis. We have a cabinet that is functional and the constitution which we can use to chart the way forward in case of anything. But that time has not come yet.As for now the information and request is that we continue praying for the president who is recuperating in Hospital.Yes we have been told he is stable.Of course you can chose to believe or not to.Some people want to hear what they want to hear and if that is the case they can also chose who they want to hear it from.Speculations about the next president dont help as when the time comes the country goes to polls and the reality is Democracy will prevail

  134. The question now is are we including everyone who is hospital suffering from terminal illness in our prayers or we are just praying for one person the Presido. Please as we pray for LPM let us remember our brothers and sisters who in hospitals or are sick everywhere. I believe if do so God will here us.

  135. i know alot of people that matter read this blogg though they may suggest in public that they dont, so this is for all those who may be decision makers,
it true it may be quite right to say its too early for a medical board but something has to be in place to suggest at some point it may be necessary if things dont change i.e who says the medication is not working and at that point what will be the meaning what will consist of being medically fit for a president?
these are the quetions people want to know,if he is improving, is the coma scale from say 7 to 8 or 13 etc then we know that improvement is meanigfull, after this traumatic event how soon do you want this man to be ..ctd

  136. Russia Mosccow, when you comming over here inna Helsinki?

Otherwise we got a presdo who does not even know his Vice Presdo.
For those who do pray,do pray that the truth comes up from all this mess though you can as well wait for sunday for you to do just that. This ain´t a Mwanawasa kingdom, villeage or chiefdom, this ais a country we talking bout here man.

  137. Right on #159,and these clowns are all wimps. What does Holmes know.It took a long time for the generals to know that Hitler was depressed, and also for the fascists to discover that Mussolini had an artificial leg all due to this cheap propaganda.Anyway, truth will one day come out, then we shall see how LPM indeed ‘was recovering’ in France.

  138. i would like to appeal to all zambians to please hold their horses… the constitution is clear as to what must be done in the event the president becomes incapable of performing his duties. it will not kill any one to wait and see. this continous rambling is making zambia look like a country full of hooligans who do not understand the rule of law. we as a country are knon to be very peaceful can we please live to that expectation. if the president gets well he will continue governing our contry which i must add has prospered under his able leadership. if he is no longer able to rule (god forbid) we will apply the rule of law.
NOW PLEASE ANGRY ZAMBIANS EXERCISE THE RIGHT TO RAMIAN SILENT.

  139. back in office, is it not possible that he may be forced to be in office to prove a point to all those who feel thats exactly what should happen, whilst they are making all the descisions for him , and would not that be more unhealthy than the stroke itself. As a christian I feel we should not just pray blindly but be practical too, for that is what we are asked to do by God.the’re three things going on here, those who want him dead, those who would write a speech for him and say he said it and those who just dont know what to do next coz its never happened before in our history.Zambians are extremly peacefull people and right know we actually feel for LPM becoz hes lifes in the hands of ??

  140. #159 and #168 i totally agree with you.
The whole world is looking at us and imagine what impression Mulongoti and co have given the world? It is a sad state of affairs. it’s Maureen,2moro it’s Mulongoti today it’s Holmes same story different day.seeing is believing,I dont believe any of these clowns until we see LPM for ourselves.
Countries have had presidents whole have fallen ill b4 but have handled things more professionally. All we are getting are comments from people who are connected or are on the GRZ payroll.Lets thank LPM for all his great work but lets move on.

  141. Zambia a good nation for good people. If you are not a Zambian continue saying bad things about your President. Loving, peaceful and honest are the people of Zambia. Here we are without our leader in the nation but no fights. You people in opposition those in MMD are your brothers and sisters love them Let us together build our nation and pray to God that whatever will be the result of our President’s illness God’s love will be among us. World see how peacefull we are a christian nation we are for sure. We will show you that we are different from other nations

  142. I would like a neurosurgeon to comment on this and is it a possibility that LPM is in a medically induced coma.
Medically induced coma, performed on critically ill patients from the prime minister of Israel to a coal miner in West Virginia, has been used for a quarter of a century or more to put the brain in hibernation so it can recuperate.
In the first several days after an injury, there can be swelling and other reactions that are part of the body’s repair mechanism. But in the brain, those processes can be damaging, said Dr. Marc Mayberg, executive director of the Seattle Neuroscience Institute.
“The idea is if you can tide the patient through this period of acute response, you can im

  143. “The idea is if you can tide the patient through this period of acute response, you can improve the outcome,” he said.
The goal is to reduce swelling and pressure, which cut off blood flow to the brain and can kill healthy brain tissue, said Dr. Lee Schwamm, director of stroke services at Massachusetts General Hospital. It is also an effort to rest the brain so it requires less blood, oxygen and glucose, he said.
Doctors induce coma by using sedatives to put the brain to sleep, Schwamm said. The patient’s brain activity is closely monitored, and the level of drugs adjusted accordingly, to ensure the brain stays “asleep.”
“The key is protecting the brain from secondary injury, which can be

  144. more damaging than the initial injury,” he said. “Increased pressure and swelling can cause damage to the healthy parts of the brain.”
On Monday, doctors began weaning Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon from the drugs that were used to put him in a coma to give his brain time to heal from the trauma of a stroke and two lengthy surgeries to stop bleeding.
Doctors in West Virginia on Sunday began reducing the sedatives given to the sole survivor of the Sago Mine explosion. Once the medication wears off, doctors can begin neurological testing to determine the extent of the damage Randal McCloy Jr. suffered in the mine.
A medically induced coma and an unproven combination of drugs were admin

  145. in 2004 to a Wisconsin teenager bitten by a rabid bat in an effort to save her life. Jeanna Giese, the world’s only known unvaccinated human rabies survivor, has since returned to high school and continues to regain her verbal and motor skills.
The risks of medically induced coma, in part, stem from complications such as pneumonia that can arise because of the patient’s immobility, Mayberg said. It’s also difficult to tell the severity of a patient’s brain damage because traditional neurological tests don’t work when a patient is in a coma.
“The risk is that this process could simply save the life of someone who will have a terrible outcome — that you preserve the life of the patient, but

  146. but they’re wrecked,” Schwamm said. “The challenge here is to save the brain in a circumstance where it can be truly salvaged

I like your comments man you make a lot of sense you and Kalos2020.People on this blogg living in Zambia would like us to beleive Zambia is doing very great but its not.In Bemba we say Umwana ashenda atasha nyina Ukunaya.Zambia is far behind Rwanda a country that suffered the worst genocide in living memory and has no natural resources like Zambia. But the little they have the government helps its people.I spent a year traveling around Rwanda and Burundi. The trouble with many Zambians is that when they are full with nshima they think every eaten. Many people are suffering man,Zambians wake up!!

  148. No.90 and No.95 you are talking too much sense, but what are you doing about it, since you have seen it, If No.90 did something and No.95 did something you can make difference, come back home and voice out, act and implement, I indeed get a $200 and I work for it from 8hrs to 19:30hrs. Zambian like posh things and do not have the guts to talk, we need to wake for real

  149. #167Ras Rated………….Helsinki,Finland
we can give each other contacts.do you know vkontakte.ru?
    I can visit u brother.I’m on holiday 4 2months.just enyoing russian summer.

  150. Russia Moscow. we are talking about basic economics my dear. take the abraham Maslow’s hierachy of needs as a case in point. you can not advance to the next level without satsfying the current level. so politics of nshima are still a part of us until we move to being a middle income country

  151. #149, mind you if HH is not popular in the copperbelt and Lusaka, then where else his he popular?? HH is only poular in Mazabuka and choma areas.Of the two Sata and HH, Sata is the most popular opposition. What are you talking about??I did not like the way HH came on the scene. He just dribbled Saki on tribal grounds. HH is just a leader of a desparate tribal party. As longer people of Zambia knows that UPND is tribal, HH will never be president of Zambia. May be ward chairman for Sinazongwe ward.

  152. #182 brother!
the question is when are u going to move to being a middle income country?after 500years?other countries who were far behind us,have made it.look at Angola, botswana, namimbia, singapore(a country with no land)a list goes on.we got independence in 1964,how many years have passed so far?we still have old buildings(findeco ), 2 universities, hospitals without medicine.presidents always get treatment from south africa.you can’t tell me Zambia is a poor country.we’ve everythin it takes to develop our country.we just lack leadership,I almost cried when i visisted zed last year.Really we have to be seriours.
have u seen now what’s happening in SA?killing foreigners.make better zed

  153. #95 russia
    #179 mulenga
so dont you think we need to find the way forward? Angola with all its problems its citizens were very proud about there country, China with all its success its coming from the back ground of low wages and hard work. The British mentality is killing us in Zambia (issues of class) If only we can be able to live a down to earth life and focus on which direction we are going?

Our leaders, am sorry to say are the most misdirected, they have much faith and trust in outsiders than locals. If the donors tell them that the reason we are power its because the Zambezi River is suppose to flow in the opposite direction like the Nile River. They will buy the story.

  154. people in govt including lpm like putting relatives to run the country.Tht’s the reason why zambia will never develop.we don’t put qualified people in the govt.how could u expect relatives of lpm give u updates?it’s very clear those relatives can’t give u correct info. the world knows tht.
whites put qualified people in their govts.

  155. zambia has no direction,we have no leaders just a bunch of jokers who have no clue of whats going on.Listening to Bill Clinton,Barack Obama,Tony Blair speak makes you realise how far off we.I wonder what these guys have that us zambians dont.We are now crying over staying in Tembisa!Deport these monkeys Mbeki and close down the Zambian High Commission ,because all it does is just embarasses us!!!First ZAZA than monkeys what next???

  156. The current system of centralised budget has not hepled us in any way! We are so indisplined we collect money as fuel levy latter on use it for elections in milanzi instead of our infrastruture development.

What is a priority in southern province may not be the same in lusaka. We like centralising business by so doing we are restricting development. One wouldn’t be wrong to conclude that Zambia is only from Livingstone to Ndola. There is nothing to write home about in Chavuma, Lundazi, Mpulungu even Lwangwa so close to cabinet office. Thats why its much more marketable to advertise that the victoria falls is part of cape town than Zambia.

  157. Its sad that dispite the Good news of the president, recovering, Governement has not taken keen interest to atleast show latest pictures or clip of the Presido, Cuban Fidel, Bush’s recent operations where beaming on state telev so that we see our loved Mwanawasa

  158. Ladies and Gentlemen things and oppurtunities will just be passing us like that as a country, just like the waters in the great Zambezi is passing un utilized all the way from Kaleni hills through Western & Southern Provinces via Chirundu boarder to the indian ocean. May be our Zimbabwean and Mozambiquan brothers could have better use for the waters

  159. All these politisians are there for money, kwacha and nothing else. Take for instance, I ve never heard anyone resigning on grounds that they have under performed or due to corruption.

(Exept LPM as former Veep) The rest its kwacha issues. Ninga ileke nchito?

  160. You cant go to God to pray pray pray on tv, and later lie to millions and expect him to listen.
they are just buying time, cant yo see that?

  161. It’s true zambian people believe too much in prayers even if their doings are wrong.i hope one day God will build us a city so long as we keep on praying.bible says faith without works is dead.keep on praying brothers and sisters all the money will be in swiss banks.
we are building too much churches everyowhere.Churches are now like houses, every 200m u find a church.
well,if u want to make $ just build a church simple as tht.mind u those pastors runing church affairs also believe too much in maracles hence zambian people are just now sitting home waiting 4 a miracle 2 develop zambia.
it’s the same miracle which will heal lpm even if the brain is dead.

  162. Wat did i say? Mabenge has started pushin things now.NEC wil meet.holmes brot true news.he saw levy in tubes.he knew a crisis was at hand.he feared.briefed MMD big wigs.pipo dnt believe updates.the writin is on the wall.call meeting.expect fireworks.lets wait and see.

  163. Dr. Macha and the Medical association do not have a say in this matter, the constitution clearly states that the cabinet and Chief Justice can appoint a medical board to determine the ability of the President to continue in office. If Dr. Macha is not interested they can find someone else, there is no where in the clause that stipulates that the physicians should be Zambian or belong to MAZ. In fact they can ask for the French doctors’ oppinion!

  164. einstein,it doesnt have to take a medical personel regardless where he works to know what is STABLE,its called common knowledge my dear,STOP YOUR UK-NEUROLOGY show off.

  165. #189
I was also shocked when i saw southafrica advertising victoria falls as part of capetown province on cnn.southafrica is making billions of $s while zed govt is sleeping.our govt doesn’t know how to sell zambia in order to make $.alway they wait to be given $ from imf.what a joke govt we have!!
i’ve never seen an advert of zambia on tv here in europe.

  166. i think i should start a church now.
i’ll call it err… “heal the presdo ministries international”
all i need is to call some minister to give a ‘stable’ update and znbc ofcourse. and well split the prifit 50/50. a couple of millions aint bad.
    just a joke

  167. Dr. Macha and his committee (if there is one) at the Medical association should be dismissed for gross inertia and ignorance. Article 36 is a constitutional arrangement which acts like a petrol tank on a motor vehicle, when the petrol tank is empty you fill it up to enable your car complete the journey. Zambia is in similar situation where the petrol light is showing red, we can as nation stop at a petrol station to replenish or ignore the light and continue a nice evening drive through the a game park. The consequences are horrendous countrymen.

  168. #201 thank you for your explanation. may be they will get it this time. The issue is not wether you love him or hate him. Its not about him its about the nation. right now if Zambia is attacked can LPM make a decision??? The answer is no because last time we heard anything clinically viable he was in a coma. And no one thus far has indicated that LPM is concious. We have gone for 4 weeks without a president. That is a shame. It only tells you that Zambia is still run like a kingdom where it takes 1 year to succed Chitimukulu. I have always said if RB was MMD. They could have moved by now. But they cant stand a UNIP member to be President. This is LPM lack of judgement. He know he was not…

  169. health yet spent his time trying to prove he was a steak. Not only has he plunged this country in a leadership crisis because of his self centeredness. He pushhed his fragile health to break point. Wake and smell the coffee LPM is not coming back able. He will be lacky if he could even know he is. One more thing that doesnt make sense is how do you fly someone over the distance of 5 hour who just had a haemorregic stroke??? Do you know how presurised a plane is????. You See why some of us have a tough time beliving LPM is alive.

  170. I see you are busy bursting in vanity on Acticle 36 instead of rooting yourselves in ways of exploiting money making opportunities.hear this, MMD does not even read your 24/7 blogging a fact that may hurt you seriously at the end of the game.MMD knows what is on their table and what they want out of any situation God forbid. One thing you need to prepare your minds is that they are finishing Levy’s last term and coming back in any given election you are counting on. They will plant intra-party rivalry and segment votes blocks to their best performance.Pressure will mount on Sata to go to the convention while UPND will be entrenched in revived tag of Tonga for Presidency madness.UNIP in shell.

  171. #201 A committee like the one Dr. Macha heads is elected into office and not just appointed. That answers your wish for them to be dismissed. The opinion he gave is reasonable. How do you ascertain one’s capability to rule if they are still on treatment? Your impatience is so irritating!

  172. MMD reads this blog, infact the intelligence spends more time on it. The only people opposing article 36 are friends and relatives of LPM. This illness everybody icluding MMD by surprise. The game is on – article 36 will be implemented tomorrow or at least before parliament resumes in August 2008.

  173. Cecil Holmes is not a white man. Even if he was, the Zambian constitution does not discriminate anyone based on their race or creed. The kind of ignorance displayed by Nine Chali #35 is what breeds zenophobia and must be condemned at all costs. We have a thriving coloured community in Zambia and Mr. Holmes hails from there. It may interest other zenophobic bloggers to know that in our history we’ve had people like Aaron and Michael Milner, Simon Zukas, Dipak Patel, Stan Kristafor among so many that have held public office despite not being black. Drop the racism, it doesnt appeal to any right thinking Zambian.

  174. Those people trying to force the President to continue inspite of his illness are heartless dogs with no feelings at all. I don’t care who is involved in this mess but people must not behave like idoits even when the situation calls for sanity.

The people asking Levy to continue are those benefitting from GRZ per diems, they just can’t believe the fun has come to an end.

  175. #206 The article you refer to must be put to a motion in Parliament as required in part (2) so I don’t see how want it to be implemented before the House resumes sitting. Don’t let your zeal overtake you.

  176. #208 I don’t think HH or any other person who has expressed an opposite view to yours are *****s or dogs nor are they benefitting from per diem. Your comment stems from a failure to understand that every clause in the law of the land must be approached with rational minds. It is no surprise that you resort to insults.

  177. Nobody in his right mind is against Mr Cecil Holmes, but people are merely requesting that Cecil produces documentary evidence to back up his claims that the President is recovering well. Since he was France he should at least produce a photogragh of the President walking or talking(and eating) then people will believe him. But to try and fool people is rely pushing his luck to far, we don’t care the color of his skin don’t just try to lie to unsuspecting masses.

At the very least the Cabinet should consider the possibility of a Medical Board. This is a group of professionals who will be sworn in by the Chief Justice to report on the President condition.

  178. #206 – Yes first things first, the medical board and after awards their findings will be tabled before national assembly. i don’t see any decent member of parliament insisting for the president to stay even when infirmity has set in. How will a sick president discharge state functions, SADC business etc. Gentlemens lets be very careful with our country.

  179. 36. [Removal of President on grounds of incapacity]
    (1) If it is resolved by a majority of all the members of the Cabinet that the question of the physical
or mental capacity of the President to discharge the functions of his office ought to be
investigated, and they so inform the Chief Justice, then the Chief Justice shall appoint a board
consisting of not less than three persons selected by him from among persons who are qualified
as medical practitioners under the law of Zambia or under the law of any other country in the
Commonwealth, and the board shall inquire into the matter and report to the Chief Justice on
whether or not the President is, by reason of any infirmity of body o

  180. What we are seeing is Hollywood thinking vs. Reality.

I see some of you are busy bursting in vanity on Article 36 instead of rooting yourselves in ways of exploiting money making opportunities in the land. Well, well well, well….. hear this you who hate to be told the truth in the world of Machiavelli politics of means to an endl, “I have no doubt that the MMD party and their operatives don’t read most of these wasted blogging 24/7 a fact many may be hurt to hear at the end of the game.

  181. Zambian blogging is a decade plus old. I recall as being one of the many that blew up my time believing I was doing something for the country against the end of MMD rule in the 2006 through blogging. My shock came when I saw the end of 2006 elections all in the mystery games. I then realized some ba Bwembya’s ID blatantly throwing-up in teases on all of us that got emboldened in the anti-MMD charge by the then Bwana Id’s spin (MHSRIP). We joined in league as anti- MMD surrogates. Ba Bwembya ID single handedly with confidence called us a legion of disillusioned dreamers too distant from reality of defeat in prevalence of political time.

  182. Occasionally he gave out with an electoral spread by regional constituencies that was making him validate our ignorance and pending defeat.

On such background, I will never waste my time again on political blogging other than business opportunities this time around no matter the situation at hand. I have no clue of ground plans. These MMD chaps are mysterious and know what is on their table and what they want out of any prevalent situation. God forbid we may talk our lungs out, but defeat is wish wash talking shop.

  183. One thing you who are over entrenched in these political blogging need to prepare for is your mind. MMD with or without Levy is finishing the current term and they are coming back in any given election you many be counting on.

I see them planting intra-party rivalry in the opposition with intensity and segmenting voting blocks to their best performance. Pressure in my party PF will internally mount on President Sata to go to the convention and identify a successor. On the other hand, UPND will be entrenched in revived embarrassing tag of Tonga for Presidency madness on which HH wrestled the office from bonafide founding fathers of the party. HH’s inheritance of late Mazoka will be revisit

  184. HH’s inheritance of late Mazoka will be revisited. UNIP in entrenched in her endless factional politics will be in shells while Nevers Mumba and Ken Ng’ondo will keep scratching between rocks and their illusions.

Katele Kalumba will be convicted and thrown to jail a few months before any decision to go to elections. With a conviction, it will be constitutionally the end of his Presidential dreams. What we are seeing is Hollywood vs. Reality.

  185. Since i understand systems and how they work, i am basking in the sun with no worries. as it is at the moment RB is in charge. hands over power to levy IF he returns able to carry on. If not we hit the campaign trail in 90 days with the HH+chirwa winning team. And its business as usual thereafter. And has anyone seen the Obama and Petreaus Caption in Iraq imagine one of the generals back home chilling with Sata HH or yes… be very scared…GENERAL MIYANDA!!!! hahaha.

  186. the truth is tht people in govt are enjoying the $ therefore they can’t tell the truth.they know, if they announce lpm won’t become president again, that’s the end of good life. To make matters worse most ministers are not even members of parliament including vp banda.who wants 2 loose the job?tht’s why we need a good constitution. relatives and ministers appointed by president will be always puppets in govt.better u keep the job than telling the truth.now what do expect? wrong updates from everyone enjoying the $.what’s the result=oooooooooooo development. In russin they say nicivo(nothing).
please zambians!!let us be seriours.our peace won’t take us nowhere.

  187. The problem with us zambians lies in the fact that we hate the truth. If LPM is on the tubes and machines which are sustaining him please lets those in charge tell us so. We have people telling us that he is recovering well, but then what are they going to say if things got to the worst case scenario, that the doctors attending to him have killed him o what. Pls let us learn that the truth sets you free and usually does not require you to remenber what you fabricated. Pls and pls, let us know the truth even if its unpleasant to hear. Twapembela pakokola mweee!!!!!

  188. ba russia (#221) you must be out of your ?!”# mind where on earth has peace taken people nowhere. sometimes am amazed with some of your shallowness. Please stop thinking that people are just sitting around doing nothing about the situation.everything is under control and am talking about government and not MMD. have you head the one about the empty tin and how much noise it makes? Ba luanshya (#222) just keep waiting the president does not owe you any money am sure you can carry on with your life as usual. Ok ya’ll will obvioulsy freak out at my comments so naturally i apologise in advance.

  189. #197 Moi youm aren talking rubbish. Now I understand why pople fail examinations. Read my postings clearly and you will understand what I meant. Dont just pick a line and you go off commenting. Whether I mention it or I keep quiet it doesnt change because thats where I work. Your comments wont change that thankfully. I would have expected you to attack my objectives and not me. Why is it that Zambians dont like the truth? What is there to show off about UK and NEUROLOGY?Its just a place of work just like ku standard chartered bank,Ku ZRA, ku ECZ etc. You can only measure progress/distance if you know the starting point or where you are. Is that too difficult ba MOI.Common knowledge?

  190. we are all eager to get information on LPM,maybe we should all chip in a little sumthing, hire an aspiring reporter from home and have him/her become our own paparrazi and take some close ups, if the ideal candidate is sharp enough to get into Percy Military Hospital or even seduce one of the nurses for information, we can dream tefyo? or we just can just have the Zambians in Paris demonstrate peacefully at the Zambian Embassy, do some candle light vigil na kulila over, it will bring maureen or even LPM’s Docs 2 tell us something.i do want him to get better though, he is human and those of us who have lost parents and know the pain, we would not wish such on others, but the truth must choka

  191. #212 kapaso. Yes it is possible that a man can survive two or even three or more than that number and continue to be president as long as he is still living.

  192. Ndife Taa No 223, how foolish can you get by saying that the president does not owe me money. Do you know who is paying for his treatment in paris? Is it not my hard earned money the government gets in all the exhorbitant taxes on the goods and services i get here in luanshya and zambia in general. How do you expect me to carry on my life as usual, when you are not calm when blogging and answering my blog. Life can not be usual mind you when the head of state’s health and condition is shrouded in mystery. Have you not seen that the kwacha is losing ground against the dollar, so what CARRYING ON LIFE AS USUAL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT. Israel was more truthful about Ariel Sharon unlike us here.

  193. Einstein-sorry if i got u wrong,i just thot your peronal details were not necesary coz.then its amazing how i passed my university -7yrs and i survived.i trust my understanding u just didnt get my point,

  194. #228 Take it easy you know it takes long to treat a stroke. The president is entilted to all that which he is getting . You would be as well if you were president.Stop whinning about your tax. We all pay it including the president himself. You are clearly panic striken and cant stay the course under pressure. I do not wish to be offensive it is my habit to talk tough i apologise if in any way my language offends you and anyone else for that matter. It is my strong conviction that every one is doing the best they can to bring things to normal. Well, i would if i where the one in charge.

  195. russia-moscow,stop saying nonsense here, where in moscow does a waiter get $1000 ,?? ???? ??????????.Give us the details of tht restuarant.nt even including their tips cn a waiter get $1000.

  198. Nonsense. This is a head of state which many lives depend on. Why not parade the doctors treating him like Isreal did? You said it your self it a takes a long time to recover from a stroke – so he will not be fit to lead. Realistically.

Only pa zed where the vice president qoutes the president who is in a coma when delivering a speech. What a Zoo!!

  199. #232
u know nothin boy(nicivo znaeshi).that’s why u can’t develop!do u know how much $1000 nowdays in rubles?are u still in russia or in zed?now $1000 is 22000P.russians are now gettin more money.don’t sleep home and wait 4 govt money.look, all french speakers students work in russia except zambian guys who want 2 work in offinces.tht’s what last time me and friends were talking about .sometimes, we’ve stupid english pride mentality of not working.we’re poor but we think as if we are rich!do u know how much i’m getting per day?1000p *26days=26000p=$1200.mind u i’m a student.
stop yo crap!!!let us just concetrate on developin’ zambia.wake up if u’re in russia.don’t wait yo $200 from govt

  200. cont from #236
most zambians students in russia don’t work at all just like u #233.but we all know life here now is expensive if not workin’.how can u keep on sleeping until u get $800 4 4months?ukafwa nensela mambala.u can even teach english in russia and make $.don’t know how to make $ call me,i’m still in russia enjoyin krasivi debushiki(beautiful women) rebyata.

  201. #227 then perharps its time you started reading things clearly before responding. I never posted any of my personal details. You are wrong again. There is nothing personal about a place of work. I dont own it. I never even told you what I do there did I? Moi wake up. If you spent seven years at university your thinking should be seven times better on the minimum. In any case no hard feelings I have heard worse than that.

  202. russia_moscow, there are two things true about you if you are indeed a student.
    1. You must be one of those students who are not serious with school. A serious student will not spend the time you spend here insulting others, serious students are busy studying and doing progressive things.
    2. You are studying a simple program probably an equivalent of a craft certificate from Mansa Trades which does not require seriousness.

Tell us the truth who you are and stop masquerading!!!

  203. Moi,then perharps you should read what I said about stable. I never said you need to be medical to undestand what it means but that you need to know in what state the patient is said to be stable. Without that baseline then the world is useless thats why i gave the example of measurements e.g you may need to know the point at which the velocity becomes constant and that becomes your ref point. I just felt insulted that despite my efforts to explain what i meant people still offered to explain the word stable to me and i thought it was perharps time to clarify one smal issue and that been that I know what I am talking about. Which point didnt I get? Your insult that its common knowledge?

  204. All the rumour mongering can be put to rest if only the attending physcians gave us a report on LPM’s condition. This is nothing alien, after all he is a public figure and it would be in public interest.

Why do we have appointed cadres giving us updates if indeed the situ is not as bad as it is alledged to be? In Egypt the head of the team that attended to him issued a press statement which unfortunately was heavily censored by our local press.

If Dr Chituwo, LPM’s UK doctors are with him can they give a brief summary of what is wrong rather than the silly statements from Mulongoti and company that he is being treated for hypertension.

  205. #239i’m not insulting anyone but telling the truth.

  207. #243, russia_moscow. I have a problem in java. I am trying to run a security program employing RSA algorithm in ECB with PKCS1 padding. The problem is that the command below;

    “import org.bouncycastle.jce.provider.BouncyCastleProvider;”

    gives the following error shown below;

    “package org.bouncycastle.jce.provider does not exist”

Please help man. I am not a programmer in java but just trying to develop interest. What do I do to correct this error?

  209. Keep your personal stuff to your self ba koswe. This a pbulic blog even people who program ifimbusu are welcome.

Cecil holmes ni muzungu bele check out Zambia Daily mail!

  210. I also program in C, C++, Fortran, Java, Matlab, IDL (GDL) and I als did php database issues sometime back. I thus think we can combine energies and form some serious computer systems company in Zambia #242 – russia-moscow if you are willing and we agree properly.

The only difference is that I might be going for my forth degree in the next few weeks. Anyhow, this news must not impede company issues in Zambia.

All the best to you all and take care of yourselves. “One Zambia, one Nation”.

  211. This guy called Malone Zaza the alarmist, we hear he has disappeared mysteriously. Can someone confirm out there?

  212. Why not send the pastors to Paris so they can pray with him rather than for him? Timely warning to the leaders do lead us into chaos, talk about realities and lets not make prayer a national agenda. Has it become the NEW MMD manifesto or rallying cry?
    Tired of prayers news everywhere

  213. Is this blog 4 personal insults or what? Abena CB, a craft cert from mansa trades can put food on a table.that cert sent me in the diaspora 2 mk mo money.i didnt need 2 go to varsity 2 live well.i own a mine supply company.my point is be a hard worker&u wil succeed.now abt levy.hes no mo.shimaini mudala MMD is done.lets hav elections&erections 2 forge ahead.am immune 2 insults.mind u.

  215. # 253 Big sando, I am sorry, I am not addressing you please. I am now addressing my good friend russia_moscow who has told me that he is going IT. I just want him to assist me with the solution to the problem I have stated above for him. That problem is with me currently and I know that a computer genius in Java programming and other languages like he has told us will definately help me out.

  216. No. 230. What’s your take on the Israel and Ariel Sharon point. Please to you and other bangwele (cowards) pls when blogging, when you choose to take on one of the bloggers, i repeat pls, answer them abt issues raised in full. My point is, over LPM’s illness zambia could have done better than israel for all those who care about history. We are not the first to have a president go down with a stroke, WE COULD HAVE LEARNT FROM ISRAEL AND PROBABLY DONE EVEN BETTER THAN THEY DID, THOUGH I MUST CONFESS, I DOUBT IT CAN BE POSSIBLE AS LIES SEEMS TO BE THE CENTER OF OUR LIVES PA ZED. WHEN ONE IS SICK ONE IS SICK NOT, ‘ATI BABUKAKO BWINO LELO’ BUT BY THE AFTERNOON ONE PASSES ON. PLS LIES DESTROY!!!!

  217. #257. Well,my friend. its good you have confessed that its in your nature to lie pa zed and by the way i believe you were only talking about youself because it is in no way my nature to lie even though am zedian. I still believe there are a lot of other people out there who know better than to lie that we should proceed as israel did if we are going to bring about normalcy. first you should remeber that the dyinamics on the 2 nations are completly different. who doestnt hear about Nukes and guns everyday regarding Israel? So dont worry, the people trained better than to panic in the way you have demonstrated are doing their job

  218. No. 258. Naleka, i will not blog anymore as i am wasting my time more so if i continue reading your silly answers to my well reasoned thoughts, well rooted in history that you don’t seem to know of let alone understand when your short memory is refreshed. I can only assume that, maybe even the issue of Ariel Sharon at the time it happened you must have been in your early teens or was just about to be a teen. Since you seem to know little i rest my case here. Thank you.

  219. Thanks i can only assume that we will wait and hear from the president’s doctors.WHEN THE TIME IS RIGHT. Now such is the calm i advocated that you and many others for that matter should keep in this moment of challenge. it says a lot about boys and men. The boys panic and they even cause more panic by acting irrationally. And sorry i honestly do not think your thoughts are well reasoned. Its only an opinion but i would be surprised if i were wrong.

  220. Urgent!!!! Urgent!!!!! please. Can someone educate me on how to avoid a stroke/s. Reading some of the blogs i think i may develop a stroke/s, so better to be prepared than to be caught napping. I eargerly await your help, but please, note that only well reasoned advice will be welcome and not just trash from some fool/s.

  221. #262 exactly my point if you are gona collapse from reading a blog do you honestly think our hospitals will will cop if we handle LPM’s case carelessly? but the only way i can advise to avoid a strock is stay calm and please breathe.hahaha.

  222. No. 263. My english was so simple and clear. Your advice as indicated and forewarned in my request IS TRASH AND COMING FROM A FOOL. Thanks once a again. hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhhhahhahahahhhahahahahhahahahhahhhaha ha ha ha ha. Period

  226. A stroke occurs when the normal blood supply to the brain is interrupted. This can happen in several ways. A thrombosis, or blockage in a blood vessel, or an embolism, a fatty deposit or clot which breaks loose and follows the blood stream until it lodges in a smaller vessel, can literally cause the brain the starve to death in a very few minutes by depriving it of blood.
The problem in these cases is too little blood. Too much blood in the wrong place is equally perilous. A hemorrhage, or break, in a blood vessel allows the blood to flood the brain bringing injury – and often irreversible damage – to the delicate structures of the brain.

  227. A genuine appology would do. Dont pretent to be smart. You started it and I expect you to end it. But if you arent man/woman enough then quit without a genuine appology.Yes we must concetrate on real matters thats what you should have done in the first place and not commenting some NEUROLOGY UK SHOW OFF EXPERIENCE. But I appreciate that sometimes as humanes we make mistakes and when they are made I expect a person to accept with no defence or if they feel they are right stand your ground.

  228. Moi, after a second thought I dont need your appology and I dont need your comments further on this matter however. You are free just like any other person to exercise your discretion especially after your super understanding which you trust so much and I, Eistein, doubt it higly. Have you ever heard of constructive criticism? Thats the one you should learn ba MOI.

  229. #269, while you did not invite me to comment, I will excerise my right to communicate freely by writing I think Dr Chirwa (prof. at Boston or something) has seen an opening in the MMD for 2011 or is it an opportunity.

I would rather we consider Mr Milupi.

  230. Einstein-i wasnt going to apologise, its over lets talk real issues here.have u seen the masebo story?waiting for your comment, not abt me this tym hopefuly

  233. #277, Big sando. ninebo “mudala”.

hhehhehhehhe. On our advice, I am now considering standing for Zambian Presidency, but of course not in the next Presidential election.

Have benign day as you carry on with your stuff today you all.

  234. Its interesting to read all these comments on the health of our very own ‘state council’….However, fellow zambians, going at each others throat is not the best way of overcoming a crisis.
I pray for Levy, wish him well God willing may he come back to complete his term of office because he’s the best president zambia has ever had and until i see a more formidable leader he shall remain my number 1.
However i stand for the truth and agree that we need to be told the exact condition of our President so shame on all those who are deliberately misleading an entire nation, hypocrites, lovers of themselves and themselves alone!!! U dont deserve those posts and the sooner u are gone the Better.

  235. What i want to know is how many of his realites, pastors, senior government officials, there wives and childres are in paris and how much it`s costing the government.

  236. iwe Mutino, its an incoclusive debate…Believe what u like. But if the man had died by now, shouldnt he be burried.??
