Over 700 clergy from districts on the copperblt gathered in Kitwe yesterday and declared their commitment to see President Lungu back in power .
The clergy stated that it is only a God fearing President who would ensure that the nation’s Christian heritage is preserved .
They said President Lungu’s commitment to leading the nation under the lordship of Jesus Christ had earned him their support.
And Speaking at the event , Patriotic Front Member of the Central Committee, the Rev. Mrs Godfridah Sumaili expressed gratitude to the clergy for their resolve to Support President Lungu stating that the feeling of love and respect between the church and the President was mutual .
She said the President had always supported the work of the church and would continue to do so .
She urged the clergy to be ambassadors of peace and impress upon their flock the need to remain peaceful as Zambia heads to the polls on August 12.
She said retaining President Lungu after August 13 was securing the nation’s Christian Nation heritage and a continued covenant with God .
Also in attendance at the meeting was the Patriotic Front Provincial Chairperson and the ECL Copperbelt Campaign team .

One would expect the clergy, like chiefs, to be non-partisan because their members come from a diversity of political parties. They can, of course, vote as individuals for their preferred candidates. Parading themselves as groups in support of a particular candidates shows how disrespectful they are to their congregants — the very people who sacrifice a portion of their meager incomes to sustain their livelihoods through tithes and offerings. We have thrown the separation of religion from the State through the window! Do their prayers even rise above the ceilings of their houses of worship?

There is NO covenant with God you beloved people. Where in the Bible do you get such ludicrous heretical doctrines? People choose their leaders and God gives them the leader they want. Zambia was declared a Christian nation by Dr Kenneth Kaunda in 1966 and not by Chiluba. Our national anthem is one of the very few in the world that says, ‘Praise be to God! Bless our great nation Zambia.’ This is unique in the world. So, I beg you Christian people, get an education please and stop masquerading as pastors in this ignorance.

This appears to be fake news, what is the name of the Pastor who spoke for the 700 Pastors? The only name mentioned is that Godfridah and the PF campaign team. Her sucess in PF has been getting the once vibrant voice of reason from EFZ on her side.
