President Hakainde Hichilema has appointed Chipokota Mayamba Cindy Mwanawasa as his Special Assistant for Public Policy, a new position in the reorganisation of State House.
Chipokota Mwanawasa is the daughter of 3rd Republican President Levy Mwanawasa and politician and lawyer Maureen Mwanawasa.
Chipokota, or Chipo as she is often referred to as, is a lawyer, farmer and entrepreneur.
She holds a joint Honours degree in English and French Law from the University of Kent in UK and Université de Bordeaux IV in France, a Masters in Commercial Law from the University of Cape Town and a Masters in Public Policy Degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Just before the 2016 elections, Chipo, alongside directing her commercial farming and agribusiness ventures in Chibombo, dedicated a full year to work as a political strategist for Mr. Hichilema.
Congratulations Chipo You’re a hard working lady. You have done well in Cattle farming and management.

The LPM was one of Zambia’s best presidents and we expected his children to carry that noble respect we had for him by associating themselves with normal people not a party that is full of thugs like PF
I don’t agree with this appointment but I can see why she was picked. She reminds me of my wlfe when I first met her and before she got very fat and short tempered.
What criteria was used to pick her?
This is a very good appointment she is well qualified and has been with the party behind the scenes as a Political Strategists …in Lazy Lungu’s day that role was reserved for thugs whose working experience was only working as a Laboratory Assistant.
And UPND grassroots waiting to be appointed are not happy with all these ‘favors’ appointments…some of them have vowed to abandon UPND..
LPM was not exactly a popular president during his presidency. His legacy was enhanced post-humously by state media, The Post and just out of sympathy by Zambians.

Saulosi – Which grassroots are those? HH did say in his first press conference that he will appoint qualified competent Zambians on merit…very important. There you are again attempting to twist his words to your liking!!
HH chooses a clever Mwanawasa. ECL chose a philanderer Mwanawasa. A man is known by the company he keeps.
Don’t know much about her so can’t comment much. But her resume reads like she is quite educated. Hope she can translate that theoretical education into practical achievements. She looks decent and beautiful too and with a ‘Mwanawasa’ name to herself, you could bet she was brought up with good values. All the best to her.
Education wise, not bad! Being a daughter of the elite getting a powerful position in government, not good! Am I the only one catching a whiff of cronyism here?

Continue being in denial…you have no idea what’s happening with UPND…the same blind loyalty cost Lungu his Job….If HH is not aware of whats happening within his own party then he will be shocked 2026….and you also as his blind follower you will be very surprised when UPND is shown the door…the momentum is building in the opposition coz they’ve already seen UPND and HH’s weakness…UPND only has borrowed followers and you know…and they’re already switching camp

Let give opportunities to ordinary Zambians who have never benefitted before.
