CIDRZ to construct state of the art scientific laboratory

Health Minister Sylvia Masebo has commended Centre for Infectious Diseases Research in Zambia (CIDRZ) for its continued commitment in supplementing governments efforts in the provision of quality healthcare services in the country.

Ms Masebo recounted tangible health research findings that have been conducted by the organization since 2001.

She noted that some major health reforms made in the country in the past years have been with the empirical research findings conducted by CIDRZ.

The Minister further took note of some among other programmes that the organization has set its footprints, to include HIV/AIDS prevention, Care and Treatment, and the Tuberculosis Prevention and Control programme.

ZANIS reports that the Minister was speaking last evening during the “CIDRZ at 20 years cocktail” held at Pamodzi hotel in Lusaka.

And CIDRZ Board Chairperson Bradforld Machila said in the last 20 years, the Organization has worked to ensure people have access to quality healthcare services.

Mr. Machila also announced the Organization will soon embark on the construction of a state of the art scientific laboratory which not only benefit scientific researchers but also enhance public healthcare services in the country.

  1. Im sure PF cadres will comment less on this topic cos they understand little of science, but talk of cadresm and promises then you hear them go “yes/no”. Anyways, this is the way to go Minister and the Research institute. Research is the only sure way to eradicate and resolve many health problems our country has been faced with.

  2. State of the art laboratory when failing to construct public toilets at markets and bus stations….poor drainage when it rains the whole capital city is full of fieces

  3. PF WILL ALWAYS OFFER ALTERNATIVES
WE HAVE A PROFFESSOR ON HERE
IN ECONOMICS >> PARTY STRATERGY>> BANKING >> LABOUR AFFAIRS
JUST CANT NAME THEM ALL >>
    PITY HE’S UNEMPOLYED PRESUMABLY

  4. @Saulosi: whats shameful also is the fact that a person like is in the USA. Did u go there via Lake Mweru or what? cos i definetly dont think you flew there.Cos if you flew there , u wud ve seen the art of an aeroplane and wud ve made u think that alot of research went into that art before actually manufacturing it. Including the toilets that are inside there ,ask those that went to America by plane they will tell u how well crafted they are, All this made posible by research – Health research included. So what kind of toilet do u wish to make sir without research, a malata one?

  5. Everything in Zambia is ‘state of art’ , Do they even understand the term? Poor drainage, poor roads, toilets!!! They once bought wheelbarrows as fire equipment and called it ‘state of art’ . What is wrong???! Bradford machila is educated and should known the term. He speaks well with his ‘state of art’ accent. Bless him!!!!!

  6. You want the ministry of health to build toilets at Bus stations and attend to drainage in the city? If I may ask , There were pf were cadres who were collecting money at the bus stations and markets, why didn’t pf use that money to build toilets? Drainage has been a perennial problem in Zambia, what did UNIP , MMD and pf do to solve this problem? You want to heap all problems neglected by previous government to a government less than 12 months in power? Mulekwatako insoni!
The crane which has been standing on Katondo street will soon be brought down. Thumbs up to UPND, UNIP ,MMD and pf ALL FAILED to remove that crane.
