No sacred cow in the fight against corruption – Mwenye

THE Anti-Corruption Commission ( ACC ) says there will be no sacred cow in the fight against corruption but fulfill its mandate of fighting the vice.

ACC Chairperson Musa Mwenye says that the fight against corruption does is not only to pursue former leaders but to fight the cancer.

He says President Hakainde Hichilema has several times reminded Zambians entrusted with the responsibility to be accountable and safe the meagre resources this country has.

The ACC Chairperson was speaking when he paid a courtesy call on Central Province Permanent Secretary Milner Mwanakampwe.

Mr. Mwenye called on the provincial administration to ensure that government procedures are safeguarded.

And Mr. Mwanakampwe says the fight against corruption is not a fever to anyone but ensure that the poorest from the shanty compound also benefit from the national resources.

  1. This statement gives us hope that was being slowly eroded. I aske Musa Mwenye, SC to initiate the investigation of Minister Kakubo and bring to rest the allegations against him in that Chinese Calendar issue. I also expect him to quickly investigate the single-sourced fertilizer deal to a close associate of Community House and the quality of the goods that were supplied to Southern province. He may wish to include the many cases that have allegedly happened at the Ministry of Health. If he doesn’t then he’s just playing politics like others

  2. Musa Mwenye how many convictions so far of any high profile individuals …this is simply hollow talk …you must still be sleeping on your wi fe’s bossom!!

  3. I don’t understand why this corruption fight is not extended to the traffic police. These guys are getting richer by the day. The money they extract from motorists could go a long if only it went into government coffers.
The law doesn’t allow them to grab the driving license and vehicle keys… this is the trick they use instead of informing the motorist to pay the fine for the offense in a given specific period. They are hiding at every corner of the town ambushing vehicles.

    • Indeed. We also need the Minister of Finance to give a ministerial statement to the National Assembly on how much in fines is realised from road blocks and admission of guilt fines annually.

  4. Too many feathers ruffled without any results. We are still waiting for statements or progress on Esther Nyawa Tembo Lungu’s sudden wealth; GBM, Malanji, Bowman (who thinks all his cases must be handled by the friendly Concourt); Faith, Chitotela; Lubinda; FTJ university fraud etc. Can we have progress rather than bring told no sacred cows.

  7. In fact it should start with corrupt crooked chaps like you Musa Mwenye. You are one of the most corrupt Lawyers in Zambia Mr ‘lifestyle audit’. You think people like myself have forgotten your corrupt deeds before you were shielded by being appointed Solicitor General? It took you over 7 years to pay me 75% of money you received on my behalf and when am in town chasing up the remainder you avoid me like the plague. How honestly can you have a corrupt chap heading the ACC? Aren’t these chaps vetted?
