Chongwe’s conduct disappoints Muteteka

Chisamba Member of Parliament (MP) Moses Muteteka is disappointed with lawyer Rodger Chongwe for trivialising the office of the president.

Mr. Muteteka says Dr Chongwe should understand that the president has a constitutional right to intervene where people need to be assisted.

He says the president is in charge of the entire country and was elected by Zambians a.

Mr. Muteteka was reacting to a story in the Post Newspaper in which Dr Chongwe said president Rupiah Banda is abusing institutions like ZESCO through his recent solar geysers project.

He advised Dr Chongwe to learn to appreciate initiatives aimed at benefiting the people, and avoid being personal.

Mr. Muteteka was speaking with ZNBC News in a telephone interview.

  1. These are politics steered by abject povert.Only God’s mercy will liberate us from all these worldly things,Amen

  2. Very soon if RB was to win, ZESCO will be sold for not marking any profits due to paying back of INKONGOLE.

  3. Muteteka it would have been better for you to just keep quiet rather than expose your calibre!

  4. Muteteka plz people deserve to know where all this money is coming from.it is our children who will suffer more with these debts that YOU iresponsible leader get .wake up for once.

  5. I liked CHONGWE’S CONTRIBUTION ON THIS ISSUE, EVEN IF OUR PRESIDENT WANTED TO STEP IN TO SOLVE PIPO’S PROBLEMS, ARE GEYSERS A PRIORITY? MUTEKA, YOU ARE DULL MORE THAN YOU 1 YEAR CHILD. YOU THINK WITH YOUR STOMACH

  6. Dr.Chongwe’s argument holds water and the so called Muteteke is really exposing his ignorance.
Who are Rupiah’s advisors if at all he has any? Rupiah is extremely incompetent and is making very serious blunders.
Rupiah will leave us with a very huge debt burden.
    Kaya mwandi.

  7. Political interference in the management of remaining parastatals should be stopped. We seem not to have learnt a lesson from ZCCM history. UNIP government interfered in ZCCM to an extent that ZCCM began to run buses, farms, railways, buying vehicles for Police, Army and Airforce, building tourism resorts and milling mealie meal for free (those with coupons). There was no way ZCCM could have re-invested in the mines when much of its revenue was spent on non core activities just for political expedience. Creating a potential financial problem for Zesco to solve a not so priority problem of warm water is certainly not the way to go.

  8. Muteteka is just being ignorant.,he knows Dr Chongwe is rite.ZESCO has been on its knees for several years because it’s a major financier of successive ruling govts that’s why all appointments of the M.D are political.Successive Presidents put in their own man as head of ZESCO so they can milk the company when it suits them especially when elections are near that’s why they find ways of refusing to accept recommendations by the World Bank that Zesco is privatised. It’s even sad that the current M.D of ZESCO though qualified is not supposed to be in that seat as he was junior to most of the current Directors under him now,he was just a Senior departmental Manager. There are suitable Directors who would have taken over and run the company better so that it becomes profitable again.
