CHIEF Mungaila of the Ila people in Maala area has promised to support Acting President Rupiah Banda in the forth-coming by-election.
Speaking when Tourism Minster Michael Kaingu paid a courtesy call on him yesterday, Chief Mungaila said he would personally campaign for Mr. Banda to ensure that he wins the presidential by-election set for 30th October this year.
His Royal Highness paid tribute to the ruling party for rehabilitating the Maala – Namusonde Road, the construction of a number of schools and clinics in his area. He urged his subjects to rally behind the MMD.
Chief Mungaila said the MMD Government has done a lot for this country and that the only way of showing appreciation to the party was through rallying behind the Acting President Rupiah Banda.
“This will be a no go area for any party but for MMD and I want to urge my subjects to vote for MMD as the party has done great wonders for our country than any other political party,” said Chief Mungaila.
Chief Mungaila said it would make economic sense FOR Acting President Rupiah Banda to rule until the MMD’S mandate ends in 2011.
At the same meeting, Chief Mungaila invited Mr Kaingu to be the guest of honour during this year’s Shimunenga ceremony scheduled for 18 to 19 th October this year.
On his part Tourism Minster thanked the Chief for supporting the ruling party and promised to attend the annual event. The Minister who was on a tour of the District also pledged two buffaloes toward feeding of people who would attend the event.

opposition National Revolution Party (NRP) former secretary general James Lukuku has revealed that the party has received K15 million from Vice-President Rupiah Banda to endorse his candidature.
And NRP president Cozmo Mumba yesterday confirmed having met Vice-President Banda on Tuesday but denied receiving any money from his campaign team.
In a walk-in interview yesterday, Lukuku explained that Cozmo initially informed him on Monday about a meeting that was to be held with Vice-President Banda on Tuesday morning although he was not told of the agenda.
Lukuku said on Tuesday, he went to Government House in the company of Cozmo and party deputy national chairman Phiri around 09:00 hours. He said they were asked to wait as there were other people scheduled to meet Vice-President Banda.
Lukuku said they were later ushered into the Vice-President’s office immediately after his meeting with Victory Ministries founding pastor Nevers Mumba. He said during their meeting with Vice-President Banda, he was surprised that Cozmo s
He said during their meeting with Vice-President Banda, he was surprised that Cozmo started to talk about endorsing Vice-President Banda when they had initially agreed to endorse UPND president Hakainde Hichilema.
“He Cozmo endorsed the Vice-President as the preferred candidate for the National Revolution Party which was contrary to what we had agreed in the party. He told the Vice-President that before Levy Mwanawasa died, he had promised them jobs with Siulapwa and other people if they help him in the 2006 elections. ‘So after helping you with campaigns and everything, if you can actually continue from where he Levy left’,” Lukuku narrated.
Then Vice-President Rupiah Banda said that ‘Levy Patrick Mwanawasa was actually keeping most of the information on phone’ and that he could retrieve it to hear what the President left. The Vice-President mentioned that it was actually difficult for him to do this give jobs because of some concerns which might be raised by other people. So having said that, the Vice-President said he could actually grant jobs to some of us in the National Revolution Party. So from there, the president, Cozmo Mumba, presented a budget, a copy of which was given to Mike Mulongoti information minister earlier.
Vote for the MAN of the MOMENT HH, for a real ray of cahnge and hope that all Zambians can believe and trust in.
Sir HH has declared 38.8 billion ZK as his total money after an easy compilation of all his stuff. This is 57% increase in terms of his 2006 declaration of 23 -26 bili ZK for Sir HH.
PF (Poor Finisher) Hon. Sata has failed to tell us Zambians how much money he has except bla bla bla, some guns here, some share with STANCHART. Hon Sata does not even keep track of his money properly. We want a figure from Sata instead of doubts.
How can Sata lead Zambia if doesn’t know how to calculate his money due to undereducation?
The budget presented was K80 million. But the Vice-President looked at our budget and said the budget was too much and the party MMD did not have enough money because they have not received enough funding. He said ‘I have got a K15 million for you which has already been prepared because we knew you were coming. I have got a K15 million which you are going to collect from William Banda because William Banda was actually ushering in people together with Mike Mulongoti.”
Lukuku said after the meeting was concluded, they went outside where they asked William Banda for the K15 million.
However, Lukuku said Banda appeared surprised because he said the envelope signed Dr Mumba had been given
So Dr Nevers Mumba had already gotten the cash, so the protocol officers got confused. So William Banda actually went back to the Vice-President and informed him of the development. So that is how William Banda picked the phone and contacted Dr Nevers Mumba and said ‘akokachepa that’s too small, that is for young people. We have a bigger package for you. So you could actually bring that envelope,” Lukuku explained.
He further said pastor Mumba then promised to send his driver to return the envelope to Government House as they were asked to wait. Lukuku said after waiting for a long time, they raised concern and pastor Mumba was later phoned, again.
Lukuku said pastor Mumba said he de
So ninshi RB has started giving brown envelops to people?
“Then William Banda said ‘I am going to give you one protocol officer to go with to UTH’. I don’t know the name but he was putting on a cream white suit,” Lukuku said. “We moved from Government House to UTH. When we reached UTH, it was very difficult to contact Dr Nevers Mumba and unfortunately he called back and told us that the mother had actually died. She died at his house.”
Lukuku said pastor Mumba said he would reach UTH after 20 minutes but that it took more than that before he could get there. He said they waited until all procedures of taking the body to the BID Brought In Dead section were concluded. He said the protocol officer then went to the vehicle where he retrieved the
Me, I do my own business and K15 million is not money that can make me shiver because I do supply and I have seen that kind of thing before,” Lukuku said. “So I just raised it with my colleagues. I said ‘look, we resolved as an executive that we are going to support Hichilema’… I pointed out to them that all those people who are coming out, are coming out with money. Then it means most of the people who have been announcing their endorsements like… have actually received gifts from the Vice-President.
That is why they are doing that kind of thing. Now what about the future because we are youths because in the process we are going to be subjected to observe most of those political eth
It’s not that me I am a rich person. I cannot be taken to those extents,” Lukuku said. “Then Cozmo said ‘Mulongoti has actually said that this K15 million is just for the nomination. They are going to give us K40 million for the rallies around Lusaka’. I told him ‘I am not going to be part of this and for the interest of the country and for the interest of politics and for the interest of all the presidential candidates’. I have got the right to tell the media what I know and what I understood about what transpired. If it amounts to corruption, if it amounts to the breaking of the Electoral Code of Conduct then it has to be dealt with the very last of it and I am not scared of anything. I
I can tell this story a hundred times and it is going to be consistent. I saw and identified the people who were there at Government House. I saw UNZASU president Solomon Ng’ambi. There was Maybin Mubanga, Jazzman Chikwakwa, Mike Mulongoti. Those were actually where you wait before you actually go to see the Acting President. But the monies were being given by Mike Mulongoti and William Banda. In the meeting, it was just the three of us with the Vice-President. We didn’t meet him around nine hours because there were other people, Nevers actually took long so we saw him around 11 or 12:00 hours, somewhere there.”
Yes, I can confess I met with Mr Rupiah Banda,” Cozmo admitted. “We had our meeting but our meeting was not concerning anything and there is no…unless if he Lukuku has got evidence…there is no indication, we were not given anything. That person is just after destroying us. We fired him about three or four days ago because he was indirectly working with the Patriotic Front. Patriotic Front president Mr Sata insulted me and I said ‘I was not going to support him and we cannot work with him’. But we found the secretary general Lukuku indirectly working with him. So he is making those statements just to undermine our movement.”
Advice to some fellow Christians who are seemingly unaware of what the Holy Scriptures in form of the Holy Bible record. Please read or re-read:
[KJV bible]Matthew 6:6
But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
There is no need to show that you are more concerned about our new leader to-be than others on here, please.
Our God, the Creator, will do what is necessary according to His perfect Will for us.
Chief Mungaila was just paid that area is a upnd stronghold and MMD stands no chance, in 2006 HH got 95% of the votes cast in the same area. Shame on you MMD!
chiefs shud not tell people who to vote for atase
#34 cont’d:
{KJV Bible} Ephesians 3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
………May the good lord God bless us all. have a great day your all Zambians wherever you are.
As for the Presidential candidates, may the best man win the 30/10/2008 elections.
I’m Zambian though not a Lozi, but I admire the respect the Lozi chief has and commands. apart from when KK made him member of central committee ans making him que up at airports to welcome Super Ken (KK). he has re-regained his respect, he does not utter nonsense by making his subjects vote for a particular party of his choice. The other chiefs Kopa, Mpezeni etc give very careless statements. they need proper advisers.
Lunch Time Viva for #35. Thanx for the info, this shows nowadays chiefs are crooks. They will sloganeer for the sake of brown or is it now white or blue envelopes??? This chief Mungaila is a chancer. sorry we are bashing a chief cause he is coming into our firing line. it’s him to blame. Thats why chiefs should not be partisan. One tonga chief has a borehole sunk, dstv installed and self contained palace built on top of this given a landcruiser by an investor, he has stopped talking on behalf of his subjects.
# 25 Mwiiyi waku Musanza,Why are you talking same rubbish on all the topics.
Please talk sense.
chi #25 SATA is the man. HH may be a successful businessman but what do people care about that? They are more likely to be jealous and accuse him of stealing the money, as is the case with all successful Zambians. Nsanje. Do you think it can make people vote for you?
CHIEF AGAIN…OH….PLZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ SPARE ME.////////
I thought chiefs are non partisans but to my surpprise they are endorsing RB which means balibapela kale utuma envelopes kuli sugar daddy.
Oh hail king humpty dumpty! And so their majesty lost all and bowed to baby cry!
Dont worry about these cheifs, you know when you are visited by Boma you have tell them something nice, e.g we are behind you. mwisakamana bane the best man will take the day come 30th Oct
bushe sylvia masebo epwaba.
#45 Sylvia Masebo is a mart lady, she has no time for this nosense going on in MMD
#45 alifwaaaaaaaaa——–la kaputula
That chief is wise; it is not just changing govt for the sake of changing.
RB is that man for plot 1.
SATA is the man for opposition leadership.
HH is their student.
very wise chief. let RB finish the mandate we gave to mmd in 2006.
It’s amazing how our honourable chiefs lower themselves to beggers and/or boot lickers. A vote is an individual’s right and no chief should say me and my pipo have decided to vote for Rupiah, such a move is not just wrong and/or immoral but it is also an infringement of one’s right to vote wisely.
Can someone tell this Chief Mungaila whatever he is called to stop this nosense!!. As a chief he is supposed to be operating from the background. Not open campaign, its against the law if he doesnt know.
Pungwa…….Gombeilede. Povert striken chief……
MalaBISHI…… cant u see that the gvt is politicising the prices of meal, fuel and fert…….. workup chief.. in future we need to get UNZA graduates to become chiefs or min diploma. VIVA MWATAKAZEMBE… u are good thinker u see things differently and u are not aboot licker like THIS CHIEFISI
Naiwe ka chief wayamba masagalatoni, who is going to give you money for fuel after 30 oct ? NOT PF YOUR WORSHIP
Mwata Kazembe was sited in the Maybin Mubanga petition against the PF MP. All of you know the result.
The election was nullified because of Mwata interferring on behalf of PF. S Mwata Kazembe was not neutral
VIVA Spreme court
Fred Mumembe (real name) you have decided to destroy one of the presidential candidates for you own business interests and deny Zambians a free and fair election.
Fine –
RB Campaign and win which you will.
Sata, since the taiwanes have stopped funding you, Mahtani has taken over. But don’t forget the 500 pipo you killed in Kitwe when you put money for water treatment chemicals in Standard Bank.
#12. BaMost when you say we you mean who. twamipapata ba PF. look for another president if at all you want to win presidential elections in Zambia
What a shame!
Some of the comments on here… LOL!
thats they best you can do after all you dont know anything about politics.all you know is being shallow minded
Dem ya chief a gwaan too stoosh, is like dem nuh see tings clear again. Dem better listen to de words of the prophet:
never let a politician grant you a favor,
they will always want to control you forever!!!
So if a fire, mek it bun!
And if a blood, mek it run!
“Revolution” Bob Marley and The Wailers
Does anyone else feel that is wrong for chiefs to tell their subjects who to vote for? It’s like Vice Chancellor telling the baMonk who to vote for, or Mine Manager telling bashiMine who to vote for. It reeks.
Another corrution success story for Corrupt Bwezani.
He has paid a visit to ACC as if to say “If you dare . . “ . . .
As for the chiefs, they are to be pitied. They are selling us to slavery all over again and we are no longer in their debt for honor and respect.
TRAITORS TO THEIR OWN SUFFERING PEOPLE.
BO hon RB has the right timing only the tribalist can see wrong here .l,m a Tonga bull who belives zambia is for us all …………
So your exellence hon Band lets goooooooooooooo…………..the real hour comes on 3-11-2008.when Zambiacomes under one zambia one nation again….MUZALILA
very good indeed Chief Mungaila you have killed off the bantu botatwe myth these tonga people don,t help us at all.VIVA MMD VIVA BANDA
Does anyone listen to any chief’s advice in this day and age? Especially regarding how to vote? Please educate me.
What’s the opposite of a Tonga Bull?
Why not have these leeches called chiefs go on ballots? They have gone political, have them go for elections so as not to take advantage of the so called subjects.
Ba Chief stop taking sides because when RB loses what next.
VOte HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
iyo kwena mwe. are chiefs supposed to take political sides?
Reasons why RB will win
1. The opposition is divided and they will divide votes in Lusaka.
2. The rural vote is vital UPND and PF shall lose in Western, Northwestern, Central , Luapula, Eastern and Northwestern.
3. Wining Lusaka and copperbelt does not make someone win an election.
4. Govt machinery at play, ZNBC, Reduced fertilizer prices and maximum distribution as well as govt role to manipulate the rural electrorate.
Judging from the news captions on this website, one can not help to think that LT IS PRO-RB
Seriously HH is the only viable candidate we should vote for. Do Zambians want finished and visionless leaders of the likes of Sata and Rupia? Sata and Rupia have no clue as to the changing world, let alone operating a computer and understanding the economic dynamics of the modern age. Sata and Rupia are only supported by chancers whose main objectives are to divide the Zambians and plunder the national wealth. HH has an excellent ability to develop Zambia and reduce poverty. Watch out what will happen if RB or Sata win the elections, Zambians will regret in the same way they regreted the Chiluba rule. It is our future, the future of our children and the country’s future at stake with bad ch
Imgumu iyi tayakwata amaano! How can you start campaigning? If RB loses the elections how do you expect to be looked at and treated by the people you did not campaign for? Chiefs are not supposed to show there that they support a particular candidate because they can influence the electorate in their chiefdom.
