President Hichilema Welcomes International Music Sensation Ne-Yo to State House

Today, President Hichilema hosted the renowned American singer and songwriter, Shaffer Chimere Smith, famously known as Ne-Yo. The multi-talented artist is in the country to participate in the Stanbic Music Festival, a significant cultural event that brings together music enthusiasts and artists from around the world.

Ne-Yo’s visit to State House was marked by a warm reception and an atmosphere of cultural exchange and appreciation. He was accompanied by a delegation from Stanbic Bank and local musicians representing the Stanbic Capacity Building team.

In a show of support for the growth and development of Zambia’s music industry, President Hakainde Hichilema welcomed the international artist and his entourage with open arms. He highlighted the government’s determination to foster the local music scene, providing opportunities for Zambian artists to flourish and expand their horizons through knowledge-sharing experiences with global performers.

“We are determined to grow the music industry and help our local artistes develop their talents fully through knowledge exchange with global performers,” President Hichilema stated. This commitment is part of a broader initiative to enhance cultural diversity and creative expression within Zambia, promoting its rich heritage on the global stage.

The presence of Ne-Yo, a highly acclaimed artist celebrated for his contributions to the music world, serves as a testament to the international recognition of Zambia’s artistic talent and its potential to make an impact on the global music scene. This exchange between local and international artists provides an invaluable platform for learning, collaboration, and artistic growth.

  1. Ne-Yo sure ba Hikainde? Please get your priorities straight. Why reduce yourself to such. Can any Zambian musician just walk into state house

  2. how free is the schedule kanshi…are u aware his not leaving any money for your people and most of your people are saying just taking 2000 kwacha for free? zambia must wake up

  3. This guy wouldn’t be given any time even by the lowest ranking government official in any serious country. But then again this is Zambian under the most useless government on the African continent led by the second most useless president south of the equator…SMH

  4. “the second most useless president south of the equator” Who is the First?

  5. And you call this f00Iish ignorant man a president? How dare he cheapen the presidency by giving audience to a mere musician who has a questionable reputation when it comes to family and marriage values. This man will sell the little of what is left of our country to Americans. Fuseke!!!

  6. Just invite Kaizar Zulu and Kalundula band. I understand he is performing ver good at a night club in Zimbabwe

    • I am in Zambia. My children wanted to go to this Stanbic waste of time concert. I told them I won’t have my money supporting f00Iishness. Instead I have bought them tickets to visit the great Wall of China for holiday. Great history lessons for them

  7. No. What people in Zambia do not realize is that HH has invested the money he stole through nationalization of copper mines in the West including in the USA. That is one reason he has refused to declare his assets. Sad because through Copperbelt is now ghost town. Resulting in Lusaka being congested by the massive unemployed youths.

    • Very true Lusaka is now overcrowded with slums and slums and slums with no roads or any form of landscaping while Copperbelt has empty well constructed houses

    • Lusaka is a sick place anyway, never liked that city. Just trash and water everywhere including a batch of humans carrying sh*t on top of their head.

  8. This head of neyo remind me of something I look at whenever I urinate. Kikiki chimutwe ichi Kikiki

  9. Looking Handsome Gentlemen. The smiles are in point. Give Ne-Yo a Zambian citizen. He looks Zambian.

  10. While Zambians have difficulties to have access to their leader, foreign nonentities walk in and out with much ease. During ECL’s tenure, his henchmen were selling visits to Indians and Chinese at as much as K200,000 per visit. It’s not the first time this is happening. John Smith went into State House and told KK that he could turn grass into diesel but ended up smuggling precious stones from Chiawa area. Swara the actor of Super Story was hosted at State House. Derrick Nyati was treated like a King when he visited to attend an awards ceremony. There are many examples that show that people in higher offices have a complex. Ubufontoni like Nakachinda put it

  11. KKKKKK YABA MEN OF GOD WHEN THEY COME TO ZAMBIA THEY ARE NOT TAKEN TO STATE HOUSE BUT WHY ZED KANSHI MWELESA TWAPAPATA HAVE MERCY ON ZAMBIA.

  12. Like it or not, Ne-Yo is a global superstar. His reach to his followers would do great for Zambia’s tourism and music industries, more than our Tourism ministry could ever do or any of the 24/7 LT resident trolls and numskulls on here. All he has to do is tag Zambia on photos in his social media platforms and the country will reap the results from exposure and subsequent influx of tourists.

    • Believe it not, Zambia is not recognised widely in the civilised world, especially among the youth. Some few enlighted old fellas remember Kenneth Kaunda but the majority you have to tell them we are next to Zimbabwe. Fact is Ne-Yo is more popular globally than HH or any of our politicians… so let’s not pretend HH is Obama. But even Obama welcomed sports people and musicians in the White House, so what’s your point. Get a life people!
