Ballot Paper Printing completed

Share

O.R Tambo international airport

Printing of Presidential ballot papers which started on Friday last week at South Africa’s Universal Printing Company has been concluded and the consignment was expected to be dispatched to Zambia from Durban via Johannesburg last night.

ZANIS reports from Durban that a check at the plant last evening by stakeholders who are here to witness the exercise found stitching of the electoral materials being done and some of the ballot papers had already been packaged. Universal Printing Company Special Projects Consultant Vik Vaid said printing finished  Thursday afternoon and 4, 523, 150 presidential ballot papers had been printed. Mr Vaid also said work on about 2 000 ballot papers for Parliamentary and 13 local Government by elections had also been completed.

‘Work is on course. We have printed as ordered by ECZ and the truck which will carry the ballot papers will depart Durban for Johannesburg on Friday evening’. On the presidential ballots which had some error, Mr Vaid said this was a minor issue and it had been rectified.

“We have since reprinted the ballot papers whose polling station name and I.D was missed by the machine on the covers”.  This is a non issue and the covers have since been reprinted’. He said.

Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) Senior Public Relations Officer (SPRO) Sylvia Bwalya expressed happiness at progress so far recorded.
‘We are satisfied that the job has been done on time, looking at what has been covered so far’. She said.
All the electoral materials are expected to depart Johannesburgh at 11 hours aboard a chartered South African Airways and would arrive in Lusaka at 13 hours on Sunday.

The presidential election will be held on October 30 with parliamentary and local government by elections for Ndola Central, Mwansabombwe and 13 wards across the country respectively.Political party (MMD, PF, HP and UPND) and Civil Society representatives (FODEP, Zambia National Women’s Lobby and Transparency International Zambia have been here (Durban) since Thursday last week to monitor the exercise.

Others present are representatives from Christian Council of Churches in Zambia, Drug Enforcement Commission, Anti Corruption Commission and the Zambia Police.Meanwhile, ECZ Commissioner Joseph Jalasi has said electoral officials comprising Town Clerks and District Secretaries from all the 72 districts in the country would receive their electoral materials. Commissioner Jalasi said the electoral officials would verify the consignment at the airport before taking them to respective districts.
‘Packaging will be done district by District’, He said. He implored various political parties to witness the arrival of the ballot papers on Sunday and ensure that right materials have been received.

The ECZ Commissioner also advised respective political parties to randomly go to polling stations and establish whether the documents had correct information against the document the Commission would give them.

‘I implore political parties to go randomly to polling stations to establish whether serial numbers will be the same against the document they will be given by ECZ’, He said.

  1. Lusaka International Airport doesn’t have to look like OR Tambo. Priorities matter; it is like trying to get one’s wife to look like Halle Berry when the children need health services and education.

  2. Is it a coincidence that VJ was in South Africa for treatment while the prinint gof the ballots was going on in that country?

  3. Is it true that the team which was supposed to supervise the packing of the ballots found the ballot papers already packed?

  4. While ! atleast the first part has been done now with the completion of the ballot paper printing,i just hope they will be sealed propery til polling day.May the best candidate win

  5. The is smoke screen the ballot paper were printed even before people went there, and were bribed by giving them money for shopping. Dan Kalale knows well why they are cheating? It is not good to put Zambia on fire just because of few kwachas. Please do not rig the election.

  6. Yah your wife should not look like Halle Berry but should look presentable so you are not embarassed to introduce her to your friends. Same with Lusaka international airport, its embarrassing. the problem in zed is once you build something you don’t want to maintain and improve the infrastracture.

  7. The pix was shown on CNN and the black guy in a coat is Mr. Vernon johnson Mwaanga 69, standing next to boxes with ballot papers.
Was detained in 1985 for drug trafficking and later released.
Well known for election riggings as an expert.
Sent by the one and only RB 72.

Vote for H H he will sort them out.

  8. Master VJ bounces back,am sure the man has done his usual trick and MMD has already won-remember there no coincidents in this world unless its convinient for you!!! Shame democracy is been thrown to the bin again……….

  9. Ba Ole # 9. You are 100% correct. These so called observers had gone for holiday. Packaging was done in their absence and they didnt complain. To quote….”stakeholders who are here to witness the exercise found stitching of the electoral materials being done and some of the ballot papers had already been packaged. Universal Printing Company Special….”
So these guys were just in hotels shagging….

  10. Dan Kalale has been at ECZ for a very very long time as chief rigger & its high time he got a promotional into foreign service so that ECZ can once again be a better place??
pls don’t rigg again coz we are watching………

  11. You mean to tell me out of all those printing companies in Zambia,we can not find one good enough to do the printing in Zambia ?
    Shame on GRZ.

  12. Ala bali vota kale ba VJ. Balelolelafya 30 Oct abantu nga ba vota baka swapinge (changing) ama ballot boxes. Ninshi na RB awina
    VIVA VJ?

  13. To all Soccer loving Bloggers, Today Togo meets Swaziland to decide the future for the Chipolopolo. This is just a reminder.

  14. What a shame for Ministry Of HEALTH that VJ Mwanga went to Johannesburg for his ear problem when infact not but he is in Daburn where they are printing ballot papers (read the post of today).Dan KALALE BE CAREFULL UKAFWA NABWIMA.VIVA PF PABWAATOOOOOOOOO!

  15. dan kalale start packing mwana. you are going back to the village ngatwawina. we will also reveal all those female journalists you have been buying cars particularly that one whom you grabbed everything from when you discovered that she was double-crossing you. wachilamo. go hh, go.

  16. off topic a bit, fellow bloggers what is this silence from miyanda? how on earth does this man hope to win an election when he is completely out of media coverage.is he campaining?hmmmm!does it mean the post, times of zambia, zambia daily mail, lusaka times, all radio stations hate miyanda? guys come in,what is this? i listen to radio news every day on phoenix,QFM and ZNBC via coppernet but ba general awe zavuta kwati mwe!!!!!

  17. Miyanda has found an easy way of making a fast buck – he waits patiently for such elections to get a fat brown envelope from MMD and create an “electoral circus” that only divides the opposion’s votes to give MMD a competitive advantage.

The man even failed to raise 200 supporters during filing of nomination papers. So for him to even campaign is a sheer waste of bribe money he got from MMD.

  18. The problem with us Zambians is that elections are only fair if the ruling party loses. Should it win, then they are not fair. come on lets be realistic and not analyse things in a narrow way. Why are you even hiding your names. Because you are being untruthful to yourselves.

  19. Ba ZRA this tym around be alert not what happened in 2006 when you intercepted ballot papers and kept quite. VJ is coming on the same flight.

  20. HONESTLY DID VJ GO TO SOUTH AFRICA FOR TREATMENT OR RIGGING.THIS TIME UMO KAPONOKA, WE DONT WANT RIGGING THIS TIME AROUND

  21. RIGGING BE ALERT ZAMBIANS

VJ WENT TO A DIFFERENT COMPANY AND PRINTED THE BALLOT PAPERS. NOTE ZAMBIAN THAT VJ IS NOT WORKING ALONE HE IS NOT EVEN WORKING WITH MMD BUT WITH THE INTELLIGENCE TO RIG THESE ELECTIONS. FOR SOMETIME OP HAS BEEN HAVING MEETINGS WITH VJ ON HOW BEST THEY CAN HELP RB TO WIN THESE ELECTIONS. EVEN THE PURPOTED EYE OPERATIONS IS ALL LIES BUT TO RIG THE ELECTIONS. HIS BALLOT PAPERS ARE NOT COMING BY AIR BUT BY A HIRED VEHICLE BY ROAD THROUGH THE BORDERS. OPPOSITION BE ON THE ALERT IN THE BORDERS. IT A BIG SCHEME. THE MASTER MINDERS ARE REGIS PHIRI, VJ AND MWALE FROM OP. PLEASE STOP THESE SELFISH MEN WHO JUST PROTECTING THEIR JOBS IN A SELFISH MANNER.

  22. Printing ballot outside Zambia in contrast with CEEC ideals. When is GRZ going to start the real economic empowerment of Zambians.

This is huge monies thrown away to RSA -Xenobics.

  23. Dan Kalale is an OP operator. Rigging they shall as long as the Election Agents are not sharp. Why use school levers and not teachers as as been the norm? Simple. Teachers now understand the system and would not have been manipulated. Its easier to manipulate and decieve one who least understands a system, in this case school levers. RB + OP + ECZ = VICTORY. I feel for the opposition.

  24. THE BALLOT PAPERS WHICH WERE ALREADY PACKED SHOUD BE CHECKED ONCE THEY ENTER THE COUNTRY IN THE PRESENCE OF ALL STAKEHOLDERS. WE DO’NT WANT JOKES NEITHER DO WE WANT TO TAKE CHANCES THIS TIME AROUND.

NO RIGGING THIS TIME, OTHERWISE BA MMD BAKASEMANA SANEST.

  25. I urge all opposition political parties to do one think for once. Unity their polling agents and election agents. Train them and ensure that they are vigilant at all times. Let them not entertaian any nonsense. They should keep track of the number of voters voting at their polling stations. Count them as they come in. The best way to beat MMD is ensure that all Polling agents are on top of things, especially in the rural areas. Watch out – VJ is around. Once a spy always a spy. VJ and Dan Kalale are comrades in arms.

  26. Daniel Banda (#32), stop exhibiting your foolishness on this site! Are you related to RB or you think you will be percieved as a relation of Rupiah Banda when he wins? When the opposition wins it’s always fair! How else can it be fair? You are very stupid!

  27. We defend our votes with all the necessary means possible. Sata has already spoken ‘if the election is rigged RB’s government will never take off’. We take that as an order from the in-coming commander in-chief of the Zambian armed forces…

  28. Bob doe, when were you last at Lusaka International Airport? It is a very decent and clean place. It may not be futuristic in design and all that but compare it to many airports in Africa and you have a decent place. And South Africa is not your average African country at that and so OR Tambo not an average airport.

  29. #17 Muunda Wakale Suuvut, forgive them for that vwas the first time they were in a place where prostitution is legal and they could afford a piece of tail finally.

  30. I’ve been at OR Tambo, Jomo Kenyata, Cairo and Lilongwe airports. They all seem better. The entrance when you are coming from the plan is not even plastered. They just painted oil paint onto the brick. Don’t know, maybe our leaders use another entrance.

  31. Yes, please bring them so Sata can be retired. Sata has the worst CV of the 3 main candidates. Governor & Minister. HH is alittle more Academic and Business management. HH has no Government experience. Nothing. RB has all the required Academic staf, Minister, Governor, Business manager, Ambasodor, VP, etc. And in addition to all this he is an encumbent. Sata has not be in Government in a long time now.

  32. #48 Ba Ole why are you so determined to defended our sorry airport? Look we got independence in 1964. We are on about Lusaka International Airport!

But then again I may be wrong, some peopleare easily pleased!

  33. #51 Totally agree but the trouble is there are people like Ba Ole who is in Zed and very pleased.

We got Independence in 1964. Surely we should be saying better. Even Jomo Kenyatta airport is miles in front. Oh well it is Kenya after all!

  34. What i ve observed 4 quit sometime is that most of the zambian flown abroad 4 treatment seldom come alive unles otherwise. If V.J comes back alive, then he might hav gone there for somethng else. viva HH

  35. I wonder if VJ was actually the printer; his going for treatment coincided with the ballot paper printing. N’way only Bandasarous Knows what is obtaining. Oh! does N’one Know about Bandasarous’ panel beating (Image restoration)progress?

  36. Why are heathy centers changing the under five cards this time and requesting NRC cards from mothers. What are they doing with The NRC #S they are writing

  37. # 51 Demadone, how convinient for you to start with the three most busy airports in Africa, Jomo Kenyata, OR Tambo and Cairo. These three are busy airports and are not in the same league as Lusaka. Talk of Accra, Dakar, Abidjan, Harare, Lilongwe, Brazzavile, Luanda, Gaborone, Windhoek, Dar-es-Salaam and the like and let me know if Lusaka lags behind. Oh by the way, yes I have been to all those airports and many more in Africa.

Tell me something, are American airports such as Dulles, Chicago, JFK, LAX and others have good tunnel as you suggest Lusaka should have? No. Why? Unlike the Biritish who beautify airports, the Americans do bother too much about airports but about other things.

  38. #51. Well travelled aren’t we? But you see we’ve been competing with Kenya for tourists. Why should they bit us hands down. A good airport attracts travellers who with time become tourists. I’ve never been to an airport worse than Lusaka.

Except for the one in Gwembe which is only for emergency landing.

  39. #59. “Unlike the Biritish who beautify airports, the Americans do bother too much about airports but about other things.”

And we don’t even bother about other things either so what are we doing? It would only cost about 100billion to make a better building at the airport.

  40. #53,STOP TALKING ABOUT POLITICAL EXPERIENCE IN GOVT,SATA HIMSELF YESTERDAY SAID, DR.KAUNDA BEFORE BECOMING PRESIDENT,HAD NEVER BEEN AN MP OR A MINISTER.CHILUBA IN 1991 HAD NO GOVERNMENT EXPERINCE AND WAS NEVER AN MP.
HH IS MORE EDUCATED THAN KK OR CHILUBA,HE HAS AN MBA IN BUSINESS STRATEGY.I THINK THE MAN IS THE BEST CANDIDATE FOR THIS ERA.

  41. #64 Demadone

Ati “It would only cost about 100billion to make a better building at the airport.” SAY THAT AGAIN!

Manje izondalama zonse uona monga ban bazadya chani? Planes can land and take off at all our international airports, can’t they? That sum I would rather for now it is invested into other areas that will to a larger extent reduce the severe poverty will continue to be in.

  42. Opposition should get a copy of the voters’ roll from ECZ so that even as results come in they re also comparing with the registered voters of any given station. In 2006 Levy got huge votes in rural areas and up to today am not convinc thos nos. Wer ok

  43. These elections have already been rigged.I predict carnage in zambia after these so called free and rigged elections.
Why on earth would a 71 year old man cling onto power when leaders in Europe retire in their 50s…But ba Zed Bwafya..

  44. If each ballot paper costed k1000 then they’ll have spent 4, 523, 150, 000. And I’m sure it didn’t cost that little. Our bana don’t care who the president is. Let them just rig without wasting money.

  45. Advise to those in the habit of rigging, God ll punish you, the bible says when my children cry to me i ll hear them and Zambia has a lot of God’s children whom when they call out to their God if hears them. A person may think he s clever today ….

  46. Cont. Look at Levy he thot he was clever, in 2001 Mazoka won, Levy rigged. In 2006 Sata won, Levy rigged. Where is Levy today? He s nomore and its other pipo to enjoy the fruits of his labour and as his wife said not so long ago ‘he died a sad man’

  47. #54 Anonymous, pleased is not the word. Some people are not bothered by trivialities. The airport? So what. Slug it as much as you want; and I will shut my mouth.

  48. #74 If we are not bothered about things like our International Airport then we might as well forget about tourism and the likes. I was just concerned with the way you were defending the undefendable.

May be trivial to you but Kenya attracts a lot of foreigners because of the same trivial things. You have said you have been to many African airports so you should know better.

  49. Pumpy
Baba where have you been all this time? Imwe everytime mukaluza ati there was rigging. No rigging in 2001. (Mazoka won only in southern province!) No rigging in 2006 (sata won only the urban vote (and split the other with the useless HH). As long as these fools are divided, they will NEVER go to plot one!!! Simple. And now you can also throw in the dreamer (Miyanda) and RB has won already. No rigging. Believe me, i work for the shushushu

  50. chokaniko ka zambia

71 year olds will continue to run for office if the only young people who run are little unknown fools like HH. Give us more credible poeple like The Bwalya Chitis or Prof. Clive Chirwas. Even Miyanda, when you listen to him, he hjas a very good vision for Zambia. But he is in the wrong party

  51. i have come to conclude that those who believe VJ rigs elections are fools. I have worked with him in the shushushu for a long time and he has never come close to a polling station except to cast his own vote.

  52. When did Anaconda go to the states? I am still starving here in Zambia and yet my flag has stripes and stars!! I wish. Pls change my flag to indicate the patriot i am, and not these guys who are busy gnashing their teeth from abroad (cowards)

  53. #76 Anonymous, because I have travelled alot, I have noticed that an airport is just a facility and what lies beyond is something else. It is just a facade and one who gets to the airport has already arrived anyway and they aren’t going to go back because the airport was lousy. It is things like the accommodation, roads, other services that matter for tourism and Zambia is doing well there. Try Dar-es-Salaam in comparison with Lusaka. But tourists still go there.

  54. Ba Ole # 83 you have travelled a lot where? you are in Kalingalinga you, i know you. the only travelling you have done is to shangombo and there is no airport ther unless you use Juju Airlines!

  55. But you Pipo # 6 is motivated by the beauty of OR. hes thinking is wen are we going to do it? not keeping up appearances. we need to move wit the times. Ba Ole. you seem to be the guy who accepts bad things. if your wife looks like shreak you have to forget about the lagers she has to look like Halle berry even if she works you still have to foot her salon bill, as for the kids, Nga benu, Only the best is Good enough even if school fees are $1000. they are your kids.

  56. #84 Anaconda, unlike you who is hiding behind a fake name and claiming of being a shushushu, Ba Ole is my real nicname and my friends call me that. Say whatever you want but its 45 countries now and counting. 31 years of age with more frontiers to conquer.

  57. Ba Ole, ANACONDA is my real nick name (Because of the size of my anatomy) I really work for the SHUSHUSHU (recruited by Sibande on behalf of Xaviour Chungu) and i have only been to 1 country (malawi) so i am obviously jelous of anyone who has been to 45 countries at the age of 31. are you sure you are NOT CHENDA WAMBA disguising as Ba Ole?

  58. #86 Mozegator, don’t worry. My wife looks like Scarlet Johanson or Rihanna if you will, instead of Halle Berry. Exactly my point, put the money where it matters most.

  59. Yeah, the hour of reckoning for RB is near

Now for those who want to talk without being told to wait, here is a forum created by zambian, for Zambians & all africans & anyone interested to share ideas etc, just sign up even with an alias email address & start posting, feel free to start your own threads as it’s for us all so long you don’t use too much vulgar language balumendo.
    Enjoy
    afrofusion.proboards.com/

  60. you are a product of your back ground, for me , its says a lot about our leaders. South africans as so proud of their country ther is nothing wrong with that. if our leaders were to love zambia like that believe me we wud have gone very far. if you say that money that Airports corporations collects you would wonder where it goes Ba Ole. times ve changed ba Ole, i will give an example, TV is going HD. if you keep that cathod ray tv you will not be able to watch anything in 2 years times other than beta TV you so dont ve a choice but to get and LCD TV

  61. #89 Anaconda, I am Ba Ole. Simple guy and I am sure we have met before. I always keep it real. I don’t drink but whenever you want a drink at Barclays on a sunday let me know. You sound like an interesting guy.

  62. #92 Mozegator, Ba Zambian Airways have not been paying user fees to the NAC and they are using planes that are registered abroad to avoid packing fees etc. I agree we have to move with the times, but we need to be realistic. Let us not build castles in the air.

  63. So what was the point of printing the 600 000 ballot papers by the way? Shushushu and Anaconda. . . you guys should know better being in priviledged offices. And don’t forget ba Under 20 are playing soonest.

  64. i dont agree with Gov collects money from Fuel levy, that money shud go toward roads rehab, they collect from road tax that money shud go to towards that same. think about all the areas they collect money from. National airports corp was making noise over $1.6m that was just for a few weeks dont you think they shud invest that money in infrastructure?? you shud use Ndola international they runway is so bumpy a 747 cant land there its too short. not even an airbus A380 can land at lusaka internatiol, we need to move with the times Ba Ole

  65. Mozegator

Lusaka can handle an Airbus A380 and or the Concorde but I agree we need to work on the terminal building. Peace?

  66. But Sata, he is erratic sure. Today he wants the Chinese and yet only last year he was vowing to chase them back to the Far East. We know, his separatist friend in Taiwan Chen Xuibian lost elections and the new guy there called Ma Ying does not want to separate from Beijing. This is the reason why Sata has changed his mind, nothing to do with pot holes or shirts. Such erratic behaviour stinks more than thieving.

  67. #98 why the insults on a Sabbath? Today the debates have been mature. let us keep them that way. And if you are gonna insult at least don’t do it anonymously.

  68. The beauty of this website is full of bloggers that sit and enjoy broadband internet from ku Bulaya and wont even vote. So come November 1, Lusaka Times will still be just a talkshopping for Zambians in Diaspora who just wish Lusaka Airport would look like ORTA while MMD and Rupiah will be still be at helm! VIVA MMD

  69. Cheerio Ba Ole! If only you could answer my question in #103 beore you went. I have a feeling you still think Concords were big aircrafts. lol! Enjoy your day mate.

I have to run too. Off to the pub now.

Guys I have got a “sweet 16” from Portugal! Blimey! Wont sleep tonight.

  70. #105 Levy Lupiya and you will still be driving your wreck in those pot holes. You will still be working hard to send your children to Uni in the UK. You will still be bragging about how rich you are when your mother and father are living in poverty.

Ho Ho Ho. I love Zambains!

  71. #105 as your name suggest you are really “santa Claus”! We decide to stay in Zambia because we love this country! Others have left and I have respect for all Zed loving Zambians out there! My point is that we should go beyond talking! As we talk, the majority of you learned guys even back home wont vote. Leaving the voting to guys who are easily bought by vitenge! At the end of the day you complain that VJ rigged when in actual fact, most you will either be watching NFL or NBA ku Mblazo while those in Zambia ku ma yard will be having Braiis while enjoying DSTV

  72. #103 Anonymous, Was saying the runaway is big enough but facilities cant service the big airburs nor the concorde. But landing, no problem.

  73. Sata’s origin is being questioned. wWhere did he come from??? I wonder why Zambians we always want to be ruled by foreigners. This time, I heard that Sata’s roots are from Tanzania!!!!!!!!!!

  74. THIS IS MY LAST ELECTION,I KNOW THAT AM ONLY POPULAR IN 4 PROVINCES AND 2 OF THE THAT IS LSK AND C.B I WILL SHARE WITH HH AND NORTH AND LUAP I WILL SHARE WITH RB.THAT MAKES IT DIFFICULT FOR TO WIN.THATS Y TODAY IN THE POST I WAS SAYING THAT I WILL NOT ACCEPT LOSSING IT COZ I KNOW THAT AM LOSING.

  75. Ho Ho Ho!
Levy Lupiya in #107 it is what we call a typo!

I am not going to try to be clever and insult you.

If you are saying we won`t be voting and Zambians back home kuma yard will be watching DSTV then I am worried you are sad because you are not in any of the above. Yur screen name says it all any way!

Ho Ho Ho Must have benefited from the sugar the sugar daddy was dishing out.

  76. OF THE FOUR I KNOW THAT AM THE ONE WHOSE HEALTH IS NOT OK.THE LEAST EDUCATED THATS Y MY FELLOW UNEDUCATED PIPO SUPPORT ME COZ I WILL TELL THEM WHAT THEY WANT TO HEAR EVEN THOUGH IT IS IMPOSIBLE.

  77. I DONT NEED OTHER TRIBE TO SUPPORT ME.LAST ELECTION I DID NOT GO TO OTHER PROVINCES TO CAMPAIGN.WHAT IS IMPORTANT TO ME ARE BEMBAS

  78. # 107 Father Christmas, Wrecks and Pot-holes! That is not Zambia I am afraid. Things have changed. Talk about pot-holes in the black areas of Washington DC or NYC and I will agree but Zambian roads are now perfect.

  79. ALL I WANT IS TO PROMOTE BEMBA,CHECK THE SYMBOL FOR MY PARTY,pa pwato AM STILL SUPRISED THAT UPTO NOW U HAVENT SEEN WANT I WANT.IT IS IN MY LANGUAGE.

  80. DO U KNOW WHY I WENT TO NORTHERN PROVINCE,IT IS COZ I THINK THE VOTES I WILL GET FROM MY FELLOW BEMBA PF WILL MAKE WIN.

  81. I WANT TO MAKE BEMBA THE OFFICIAL LANGUAGE WHEN I COME IN POWER.THATS Y I SPEAK BEMBA ALL THE TIME WHEN AM HAVING RALLIES.

  82. Ba Ole “#103 Anonymous, Was saying the runaway is big enough but facilities cant service the big airburs nor the concorde. But landing, no problem”

Just been looking at your posts you got yourself in tangle there I am afraid. Funniest thing I have seen today.

  83. Ba Father Christmas! Lelo mwayumfwa!! Read 117! Pa Zed things have changed! As we chat am replying from my pool using my Blackberry (which many Zambians have) enjoying a nice cold Coke (which you and KK deprived us) and we can even afford to buy Hummers to drive on our nice roads! Come home instead of washing mbale in hotels

  84. Zedians back home, To tell you the truth, things are never better in foreign lands. Home is home………Miss akabwali ka chibwabwa.

  85. #122 You obviously do not know hotels have dishwashers. By the pool? Lucky you! No wonder I could not find a public pool for my children the last time I was in Zed. Someone should have told me Zambians now have pools in their backyards. Nice roads? Did I visit a wrong Zambia?

Oh well, to you Zambia is all about Lusaka. Never mind the person in Kaputa or Shang`ombo! After all they do not deserve anything! See the irony in my post!

Ho Ho Ho. Enjoy batata. Ho Ho Ho!

  86. #126 I eat ubwali whenever I want to. Zambians grow cibwabwa here. It depends where you are. Home is home alright. If you do not have papers and a good job, the last place you want to be is in diaspora.

Seriously speaking it depends where you are. I do not think I would live in a country where I do not understand the language or English if not the first language.

I feel sorry for people who come on here with German and Russian flags.

  87. #83 Ba Ole – Ever heard of face value – that’s what attracts tourists. Man you should travel and then you’ll realize that airports speak alot about a country.

  88. #127, you do not need to feel sorry about anyone…..You do not know what they are doing in those countries…..complex, zedians you surprise me.

  89. Spending time on this blogg makes me happy am home! How does a guy like father christmas say we don’t have public pools! You are guys who make foreigners think of zed as a village! Feel sorry for you. Things not perfect yet but we will get there and its not only up to politicians but evry zambian including father christmas

  90. #129 What omplex?

I said it depends where someone is. I do not miss ubwali because I eat ubwali with cibwabwa whenever I want. Sorry I did not take you where ever you are. Go back home mate or come and join us here.

  91. #133. For your info, I was there in UK for one year doing my masters, i didnt like the place, am here doing my Phd, after this am getting back home……….period.

  92. #131 Levy Lupiya. Why do you keep contradicting yourself? You are the one who was bragging about having a swimming pool in the backyard and being on the net. This is the reason I said lucky you.

Yes I came to Zed and there was no public swimming pool I could take my children. Not my fault but my children (bless them) love their swimming! What else could I have done? I grow upon the CB and it is not long we used to have swimming Galas on the CB.

  96. modestus mwanje chibuye in uk known as mode
Why do you zambians hide your names when you comment. What do you fear?If you are true zambians be proud and honest,Do not live in the past and in fear the kaunda regime is long gone.Whether in zambia or abroad you still live like you are in the 70s,80s or early 90s.

  97. #137 Annonymous – leave your friend alone. People have different preferences. Chibwabwa in the UK can never be compared to chibwabwa in Zed. Grow up mate.

  98. You have talked a lot give us chance. PF Patriots yesterday apprehended MMD Kanchibaya Ward Chairman’s wife Cathrine Chanda Nondo who was found 12 voters cards in her matrimonial home obtained from individuals in exchange for money, vitenjes and other material resouces. She was taken to Kasama Central Police to gether with 3 other suspects, and 4 witnesses, while the husband has been on the run. Latest news is that the suspects and now on Police Bond. Call Kasama Central Police if this is a fallacy. Shame!

  99. santa and lupiya i cant believe your arguments. in this day!!! you actually remind me of grade 5. Broadband Internet is getting cheaper by the day, its must to have at home. cars you cant manage with out them. the world has become so small if i want to buy anything i can use my credit or debit card DHL will deliver to my door step the only difference between you guys there and us guys in Zed is you are not at home while we are. if you die today, wat we will recieve will be your ashes is a jar as for me, i wll be buried with dignity. as for material things every thing is here.

  100. wat ever we own here belongs to us, where as you guys, you have to borrow to buy property. cars houses we buy cash here. there is a guy who was deported recently from the UK. the way he came back home. i wonder y pipo even migrate. the guy has to squater in a single room with wife and 2 kids. its a shame. the best part is all my family and friends are here, if i need money i can borrow $5000 from my own brother with our interest or collateral but in the UK to lend a friend 20 pounds.!!!!!! we know about it. just leave us guys in Zed we re very happy.

  101. # 126. Ba Father Christmas, I live in Mumbwa and even there the roads have been done. Oh and I have VSAT for broadband Internet and I watch CNN and other USA channels on DSTV daily. We now have three towns being built from scratch in Zed. Oh, you could not find public swimming pools? I am sure you’ve never heard of places like Olympic Swimming Pool, Chrismar Hotel, Pamodzi Hotel or even Mulungushi Village. Lusaka versus Shang’ombo, have you ever been to the docks near Sunderland or the viallages in Texas or ranches in Wyoming? You think they look like NYC or London? Didn’t think so. Probably you have nothing to come back for here in Zambia but that doesn’t mean you should be a sad man.

  102. 128. Tonga Bull – UK, I travel alot and like I said 45 countries and counting. You can guess how many cities because in some countries I have done eight cities with big airports each of them. Just an idea, for USA – Waikiki and Honolulu, LA, NYC, DC, Chicago, Vegas, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Houston, San Francisco and San Diego. Get the picture? I was working in the UN system and so attended lots of global meetings. Even lived in places like Stevenage, Durham, Sunderland, Surrey and Pompey if UK is of interest. Is that enough?

  103. # 145. Dan Pule, these bitter Zambians in the diaspora are those with no proper jobs and all they want is to make us feel like they are better off but whenever we visit them, we seem to even buy them the burger in Burger King while we chat. But of course there are the guys doing very well and making more money that we can ever make here and these are rarely here trying to slate the very country that gave them the grounding they used to be where they are. These we salute. The sad losers, sorry. They cannot even come here to bury their mothers because that will be the end of their “misadventure” abroad and they have nothing to come to here. These Kabwata boys!

  104. #128. Tonga Bull – UK, face Value? You think that an airport is a face to the nation and it attracts tourists? When they get to the airport they have already arrived and they won’t go back! Websites of the tourism board, trade fairs etc are what attracts tourists and more importantly what their home offices and their peers tell them of what their experiences in the place of interest was.

  105. Iyo Ba Ole you are rich!

“Oh and I have VSAT for broadband Internet and I watch CNN and other USA channels on DSTV daily”.

    Rich man.

  106. #148 & 150 Ba Ole – please grow up and jump off your high horse. You certainly don’t seem like one who’s ever set eyes on any of those places you’re talking about. I guess you just “googled” them. You’re muchiloto and need some shaking up to come out of your dream land. Your other comment #149 speaks volumes of your bitterness about people in dspora trying to scatch a living. Leave them alone – at least they’re sending cash to their kin back home – bitter loser!

  107. No I am not rich. It is everywhere here even in the village where I live. At less than 100 pin for DSTV and 400 pin for Internet (okay yeve niyo dula), an average working John Doe can afford these things.

  108. Ba Ole. You should thank Google for introducing google earth. Atleast even you big charlies can see places like the UK.

Now back to your cave Ole!

  109. # 152. Tonga Bull – UK. Fimano fya kumushi. Getting annoyed when faced with things you can’t handle. Sorry to burst your bubble. Lol! Do I surely have to email you to remind you of manners? Remember you friend has revealed your name you CBU chap. You pushed me against the wall and now you cannot handle the truth? Ask Levy Ngoma who was with you at CBU about Ole and you can learn more. Sending money to their kin? Is that why you are abroad? Shame. I thought you had a real plan. The truth hurts right?

  110. # 154. Anonymous. How did you know I live in a cave. That was very ingenious of you! A Nobel Prize for Mr . . oh sorry no name. My cave is good, its a groto actually. Thanks indeed to Google and Google Earth at least we can be close to you guys in the Whiteman’s land.

  111. Go back to your cave does not mean you live in a cave Ba Ole. Oh well we are not at the same level are we?

It is a saying Ba Ole just like “cheeky monkey”. It doesn`t mean one is a monkey does it?

Ba Ole mukakwata bill pali ka dial up internet ako!

  112. #
    157. Anonymous, I am not offended. I know you mean well. I pay my Internet upfront for a year and so no bills. VSAT kuli ba Zamnet. No dial-up in the village boss. How can we afford dialing trunk calls to Lusaka for Internet?

  113. Ba Ole Iyo Zambia nayendelela cacine. Na fi VSAT! Imisebo shonse shisuma suddenly.

That is what we call setting priorities right!

  114. I am disappointed as to why the ECZ has printed extra balloit paper. We do not to have more voters more than the billoit papers. ECZ was support to print the exact the same paper. The issue is not the disclose of those paper but do we have the number required. Who broght this idea is rigging star. Opposition be vigillant from now until 30th October, 2008. ECZ watch out. DO NOT TAKE US THE PEOPLE OF ZAMBIA FOR GRANTED.

  115. I had a chance to listen to hin on radio a week ago, and honetly, among all of them, his is the best manifesto for developing our wonderful Zambia. And before you protest, just take time and listen to them all (you Zambians are known for arguing before you REALLY LISTEN. He may not be very out and up in your faces but lets face it, charisma hasnt worked in this country before, in fact Levy wasnt Charismatic and look how well he did! Impressive CVs, Rough in your face personalities and 100 years experience are not enough to lead the people. We need CHARACTER!!! And Miyanda has that!

  116. Ba Ole forget about these pipo. they live on debt and are not free pipo its only here(LT) where they can voice their opinions. else where, they would be deported. just enjoy your life here, am loving every day in Zed.

  117. #161 whats so strange about Vsat??? i dont really need all the bandwidth, so 512 is more than enough, there is internet on every ones fon, my garden boy has a fon the maid has a fon the nanny has a fon. whats so special about that?? my 3 year old son has a fon, its just that he doesent use it or carry it around. i think you guys abroad are backwards am very shocked. high defination PVR TV is here for just $300 and $67 per month. i wont talk about number of cars coz i know you are reguler at he train station.

  118. Iyo kwena mozegetta #65 ulicipuba eeee! You have given a mobile phone to a three year old boy? Please tell me you are just bragging.

Trains? They are cheaper and faster! You won`t understand anyway because the trains you only see are those carrying cows which take forever to do a hundred miles.

Sorry I do not know what PVR stands for. Please educate me.

  119. Oops #165 I meant in 166.

mozegetta as for being backwards you are right, we are backwards.
Now go and ask your ministers/MPs why they send their children to a country which is backwards.

  120. # 165. Mozegatta, I understand and I feel you. Funny thing is the ones doing well in the diaspora are the well-behaved ones but the Brixton Boys and the Shepard’s Bush marketeers, eish!

  121. #167. Ka Tona, Lazarous in the Bible was in the same Postal Code with the food on the table but he only ate the morsels that fell to the floor. Where you are does not reflect your wel-being. Minister can afford the good schools for their kids abroad but can every Jim and Jack abroad afford that after struggling to get out of Zambia to make it to their destination?

  122. # 167. Ka Tona, I like the way you justify your scenario and slug your friends’. Don’t you realise that what you went looking for abroad others may have found it here? Don’t you realise that even the likes of Chirwa and Mazoka and many other top professionals who come back to Zambia do so because there is something missing in their lives and closure for them is to get home. Learn to understand we are different.

  123. #169 Then you are agreeing that we have a rubbish country! Because a minister can afford says it all. This is the reason UNZA will never be the same because ministers/MPs are not bothered.

Ask yourself why MPs and yeah kafupi still goes to SA “for a medical”. Wake up Ba Ole.

  124. Ba Ole #170, you are a heartless man. The one that thinks to be educated one has to have the money.

Did you ever hear about Mpelembe Secondary School and ZCCM? Did you ever hear they used to get children from Chipata because they were first in the province and these children went on to become engineers? I doubt there are any intellegient children in Chipata any more? lol! (Read between the lines)

  125. # 172. Ka Tona, no so civil of you to call others heartless is it? I do not condone MPs/Ministers and other sending their children to schools abroad. I condemn that as we are supposed to develop our country. I was answering your question why they send their children to the so called “backward countries”. By the way, I was one of those village boys who were picked by Mpelembe as an A-lister. My being in Zambia is because I believe in Zambia and I think to develop it is not through white collar criticism from afar but by being on the ground and helping improve our HR and socio-economic well-being of denizens.

  126. # 172. Ka Tona, no hard feelings my friend. Am off now. Its time for my Sunday League football match. We have a team called Recreativo, mostly former monks from UNZA and today we are playing Barclays Madalas, who are one of the best teams in the Sunday games. Sunny day and somewhat hot. Two days ago, we had our first rains and they were heavy. Keep the spirit. Enjoy life but not enjoying it through slugging others. It hints on sadness. Happiness is more important than the trinkets we own, filigree trimmings and embossed garnitures of life.

  127. Ba Ole I am off to church. Stay well and enjoy your footie!

I probably know you from what I have seen above in post #173.

  128. Acting President Rupiah Banda has disclosed that United Party for National Development Hakainde Hichilema allegedly solicited for a Government position in exchange for his support for the MMD presidential candidate.

Mr Banda revealed that Mr Hichilema allegedly approached him soon after veteran politician Vernon Mwanga announced his support for him to strike an agreement.

He said Mr Hichilema called him a day after Mr Mwaanga advised the MMD to adopt the acting President to contest the presidential election.

He said Mr Hichilema even went to see him in the presence of Monze member of Parliament Jack Mwiimbu and two ladies

  129. Mr Banda revealed that Mr Hichilema allegedly told him that time had come for like-minded people to work together.

He said his initial thought was that Mr Hichilema had decided not to contest the presidential election and that he was probably going to support him.

Mr Rupiah Banda said instead he was surprised when Mr Hichilema allegedly wanted to strike a political agreement with him that would have seen Mr Hichilema earning a Government position after the October 30 election.

He said he did not want to be tortured by unfulfilled political promises from those seeking political favours for giving him the support.

  130. Ba Ole – You’re either a pathologiacal liar or you’ve been failing and changing schools all your life – no offence. Man, you earlier told us on this blog that you were a Mpelembe A lister and was sent abroad and only went back to Zambia because thats were your heart was. As is typical of liars, you forgot what you had earlier on said and revealed to us that you’re a former monk from UNZA. Did you fail at Mpelembe and later enrolled at UNZA or have you just mixed up your lies? You also bragged about all those places you have been to when even a two year old can tell that it’s mere wishful thinking. Get real Ba Ole – again no offence.

  131. Atleast the last 400 000 ballot papers printed has Vernon Johnson Mwaanga’s picture,a mistake that have just been noticed.

  132. #166 those who send their kids abroad are from the Old. the only thing i can recomend is university those that took kids to sec school in the UK are from the UNIP era. PVR is like replay TV more like TIvo ma boy i buy phones every time i feel like buying one there is nothing strange about that i love gadgets. i will still repeat my son has nokia 1200. sim cards are K5000 todays rate is $1.38. am sure you left when a sim card $100

  133. On the CB we dont see cows on trains, only copper concentrates and mining equipment. so if you need a fon put your e-mail add here i will send you one i have a HTC just lying around doing nothin. or bether still if you want 50 pounds to buy a simple fon i send send you some by western union give me your e-mail address or your details.

  134. And if they rig, we monk square will splash with discourse on amending electroral laws so that these ngwelez can be permanently stopped! First tu Jobeko!

    The Monk, C/O RUPO@RUINS, UNZA

  135. 178. Weza, Mpelembe selected me in the 1994 intake when I finished my grade 12 at Hillcrest in ’93 as the top student. Back due to family problems I never got to attend Mpelembe. Instead I went to UNZA later on. Check my entry in #173. It is very correct and it says I was picked but not that I attended Mpelembe. Further, though I accept I attended UNZA instead, I never said I did earlier on. #I74 does say most of my team-mates are former UNZA monks but not fellow monks or that I was one. But I was. And for the record, we lost to Barclays 3-2 the game and I am neither a pathological liar nor a simple liar. I try to tell the truth at all times.

  136. #178. Weza, I am not bragging. I have been to those places and it is truth. Hawaii, 1999 attending the Millennium Young People’s Congress, LA, visited Beverly Hills and Universal City as part of a project in ’99 even appeared in the LA Times, NYC many times mostly going to the UN for meetings, Baltimore, lived there for a month working at the International Youth Foundation in Downtown Baltimore and even watched Cal Ripken’s last game for the Baltimore Orioles in 2001, Vegas, went for fan 2002 from NYC, Houston was visiting a friend, Pittsburgh ex-girlfriend 2002, Chicago and DC attending meetings of the International Youth Foundation etc. Google if you want. No need to prove anything.

  137. #178. Weza, Imwe Ba Weza, umunenu nga alyenda don’t be jealousy. Congratulate him. So ine nganalanda ati I have met the Queen twice, Maradonna once and Koffi Anna, what are you gonna say? Fya chine and it is not bragging. It is just a fact. I am sure you also have anecdotes in your life which will suprise others but never underestismate the power of another human beings merely by looking at your abilities. Kwaliba inshimbi. Twalikwata abaiche mu Lusaka with a hummer, a dodge, a Chrysler and the latest BMW eka.

  138. I hear you my brother Ba Ole. I didn’t mean any offence. Did you know Henry Mugogo back then at Hilcrest? I would love to contact that old buddy.

  139. #24,this is typical of PF cadres. They dont talk sense just like their fellow leader Cycle Mata. Wait and see,17 days to go!!!!

  140. You have talked a lot. Now go to page 12 of today’s Post.I told u yesterday. Police have swang into action. We have evidence MMD buying off voters cards in Chishimba area of Kasama. Money is exchanging hands at a very fast rate in MMD. Stinking corruption all meant to rig elections.

Monks don’t just talk, and job! We scan. Pabwato!
