Luapula has enough water to generate hydropower-Sata

Share

Patriotic Front Presidential candidate Michael Sata has said that Luapula Province was endowed with enough water resource to generate sufficient hydropower to mitigate the power shortage that Zambia was faced with.

And Mr. Sata has lashed out at Bahati Constituency PF MP and seven other party MPs who were working with the MMD despite being voted for to represent the people on the PF ticket.

At a public rally in Mansa today ahead of the October 30 presidential election, Mr. Sata said once elected as President of Zambia his government would ensure that development was brought to Luapula.

He said the Province had enough water resources to have its own water utility company to provide improved water services and sanitation.

Luapula is the only Province without a water utility company in Zambia.

He said it was sad that many people including civil servants were using pit latrines and had no running water in their homes despite the abundant water resource in the Province.

The PF leader said there was no need for government to engage foreigners to develop the area saying Zambians were capable of developing the country on their own.

“we don’t need to run to China to come and develop our country. Zambians are the owners of the resources and they are the first investors,” Mr. Sata said.

Mr. Sata said the province also had great potential in major sectors such as tourism but had been made to lag behind.

He said the party had only one royal MP, Chipili constituency Davies Mwila out of nine PF MPs in Luapula saying that the other eight MPs had opted to support MMD in the Presidential Election.

“Business used to tick here in Luapula but it has died. It’s because you have been betrayed by people like (MP) Chimbaka and other members of parliament here, they want to fatten their pockets before they work for you the voters you need productive and honest leaders with ideas to take this area forward,” Mr. Sata said.

And Mr. Sata has said his government would do away with basic education saying it was a mockery and would emphasize secondary school education by constructing Secondary schools every 10 kilometres across the country.

Mr. Sata said he would also ensure that all community schools were upgraded to ensure that they produced the same standard of pupils.

He also said that he would ensure that each district had a Hospital and doctors to attend to the health problems of the people.

He said that teachers and other government officers’ welfare would be improved for them to be motivated to provide proficient services for the country to move forward.

And Mr. Sata has said that his government would decentralise fertiliser distribution from Lusaka to village level saying traditional leaders would be empowered to manage and administer the distribution of fertiliser to farmers in the village.

He said that the current system of distributing fertiliser from Lusaka was cumbersome noting that village headmen and chiefs knew committed farmers with potential to produce once they benefited from the support.

Mr. Sata also said that every village will have an extension officer to oversee agriculture activities.

He further said that his government would supply tractors and fertiliser to farmers and would be recovering the costs from the farmers’ harvests annually.

At the same rally, Mr. Sata said that the people saying that he would bring war once he was President were aimed at killing the people because the only war he had to fight was hunger and poverty that many Zambians were going through.

Mr. Sata said he was a proven and practical leader to make the best President for Zambia.

  1. Ba Sata, how long have you been in government and yet you have NEVER suggested that to the presidents who you worked with.

We all know you are a hypocrite. We need someone who already has his plans on paper for everyone to see.

    We need HHHHHHH

  2. Even I have a plan on paper to build a castle on Chilubi island.
#2 This is far much better than Hakaivotela Humwine`s promise of a salary. Your relative surprises me with what he has on that paper. Next will be: State house will be turned into an abortoir

  3. The thing about sata is that he explains what he wants for zambia and how he wants us to get there, even if people would say he’s lying just like every other politician,i would say atleast he has the guts to try and inspire the zambian people into economic success…..
todays landslide win is a sign of what’s to come…atlast…a government of our own chosing…..
    Viva PF

  4. I’ve noticed around this time, the people who paint this blog with their silly comments are nowhere to be seen….nifi nabesala utuma internet cafe’……
    anyway…..Viva PF…..

  5. I thought this is the same man who served in govt for 40+ yrs? How come it has taken him this long to know that Luapula has the potential to generate power for the country? Was he sitting on this idea only to review it during presidential campaign. If so, where is his patriotism for the country.

  6. @#8 Father Christmas

There is a difference between you and HH. When HH puts something on paper, he actually implements it and his success is enough proof of his implementations of plans. You on the other hand are lazy and so if you had to put something on paper, it would stay on paper because of your lack of vision and laziness.

HH makes more money that what the presidential salary would offer him, of course he can use his salary to help vulnerable youth. I think that lying spitting cobra has spat in your eyes and now you are blind.

Zambia needs to develop and HH is the best man for this development.

  7. #10 are you sure those are battleground provinces, don’t apply american politics to zambia we have no electoral votes here but just a simple majority and believe me,he has the right strategy…..this is because RB and HH will split their votes in those provinces you are talking about….am sure you know now from what happened in Mpika that Norhtern and Luapula are his turf…and ofcourse there is no doubt in any body’s mind about Lusaka and the Copperbelt….

  8. Yes, Zambia has enough natural resourses, which have not yet been well exploited. We need people who think beyond, the idea of King Cobra, Titanic, is welcome

  9. #10 are you sure those are battleground provinces, don’t apply american politics to zambia we have no electoral votes here(so the popular vote is what counts)we use just a simple majority and believe me,he has the right strategy…..this is because RB and HH will split their votes in those provinces you are talking about….am sure you know now from what happened in Mpika that Norhtern and Luapula are his turf…and ofcourse there is no doubt in any body’s mind about Lusaka and the Copperbelt….

  10. Investment in fish, banana and mining industries in Luapula Province could help so much in improving the livelihoods of the people of Luapula and Zambia as a whole.

  11. If Sata wins, we gonna have to find him a young wife to tame him a little. I think I’ll calling a few of my single friends

  12. number 11 u r ryt… nabesala utuma internet cafe!! as for us, ichintu chintu umwene!! PABWATO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  13. # 14,Let him use govt machinery to take care of the Youth and not turn them into trustfund babies. He could have indicated a diffrent approach without even telling that he will use the presidential salary. If he doesnt get the govenment salary thenyou are doomed into becoming a company Nation owned by one rich dude with Youths dependant on his trust fund. Think and vote wisely. Calo ni catu bonse bane!!

  14. GREAT MAN! Even Hamachende agrees. ladies and gentle men, they dont come better than this! Mr President add Geo-thermo energy to your speeches. southern province has alot of hot springs,we can generate around 700mwatt! its the in thing! pabwato bane,

  15. I’ve been against this man always but am beginning to believe him a little bit. In this pic, he looks like a prezdo. And his party just won a by-election. He has enough grip so he seems.

    Lets wait for Oct 30!!!

  16. #27 ba khulu mpuno is taking time out of the public eye after that by-election defeat. I think he’s still in shock

  17. Number 19# have you looked at the number of registered voters by province. Western has more registered voters than Luapula, Southern and Eastern have more registered voters than Northern. As for Lusaka don’t count the chicks before the eggs are hatched. If you adjust that with all the job seekers in all the provinces. U are right the winner is by simple majority but perhaps not the PF majority u think

  18. WELL DONE PF…KITWE CITY COUNCIL IS BEHIND YOU…….PABWATOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO COME 30 OCTOBER…………KEEP UP THE SPIRIT COBRA YOU ARE ALM0ST
    AT PLOT 1….

  19. It is a good suggestion Mr Sata. But having enough water does not nescesarily mean you can generate power. You must have potential sites. Going by your by yo arguement countries that are surrounded by oceans shud boast of generating alot of power

  20. You chaps who are supporting Sata, how old are you? Did you experience the panga war in Chawama? Think about the future and the future of your children before you cast your precious vote. That chap sata is ruthless. Wait!

  21. Why is Cobra Sata contesting these elections? He has failed to hold ANY ELECTIONS in his party – which democracy is he talking about? Those shouting pabwato you are missing the point. SATA is a DICTATOR and he will remain so. When was PF formed? How many elections has he held?

DICTATORS COME AS ANGELS OF LIGHT!! Sata is such a one. Watch out!!!

  22. Irrestable, crowd (voters) puller, man of the moment trully failure teaches success slight accelleration then you beat them all. Iam quickly getting impressed by u the incoming presido your Execellence Sata. U are wise no wonder your former bosses are scared (FTJ $ KK). Go on give real promises which u will keep as well.

  23. What strategy namwe! there are nine provinces in Zambia and they are not all going to SATA. Those provinces are porous. he wont win by a big magine. Meanwhile the left out provinces of N/W, Western, Sothern and Eastern we’ll not yield much. Lusaka is divided sata might lead but no landslide whatsoever. Copperbelt maybe !!!

  24. SATA ur time is up… ubwato will sink….. why is this guy not touring southern province. HH the person they accuse of tribalism is all over zambia. Who are the tribalists now… Sata nonsense, there is a reason why Luapula is under developed, read www. luapulalaziness.com

  25. One thing you must bear in mind is that although he worked in Governement for that long he has a track record which is impeccable. None of the other candidates have such a track record. HH’s track record is a private sector experience. RB is trying to fit into the shoes of Levy, and leadership doesnt work like that unfrotunately. So between you and me, I would rather go for someone with a track record. Levy had a track record, and it is this track record that reflected in his rulership as well. Go for the track record and you wont go wrong.

  26. Another brilliant idea and yes hot springs in other parts of Zambia too. This is the thinking that can be translated into action and will take our country forward.

It is a pity that I am not a registered voter but I have engaged in civic education and my family and friends will all vote for Mr Sata.

  27. Congrats4 the win sata in mpika , but u oso accept en cngrtlt mr banda afta 30th. Not votamangila mu street ngamwaluza . U wud only win as a unitd force wth hakainde .

  28. #26 your language is very dirty indeed. Machende means testicles and am wondering whether you are refering to yourself when you say Hamachende. Do not say things you do not understand or will bring a curse to you. Just debate in a a civilised way.

  29. Sata seems to have ideas but i doubt his capability. The way he say things is like he wants to turn Zambia into England in a shortest possible time. His sweet talk will cost you alot and he will not be there when the impact will be felt due to his sickness and age.

  30. Viva Sata this is proper campaign of addressing issues people wants to hear from a next president, unlike RB attacking opposition, HH making fake and unrealistic promises to offer his salary to people.
    Ni pabwatoooo ze BIG.

  31. HE WAS A NUMBER 3 IN CHILUBA GOVT HE DID NOT SUGGEST THE HYDRO POWER IN LUAPULA.BECAUSE HE HAS HEARD HH SAYING IT.SHAMUNENI BANE SHEMU.VIVA HH GOOD POLICIES FOR EVERY PROVINCE.

  32. If the leader can seem potential and all that can be done then he has a vision and ideas, that is one good thing with Sata. All that he has said is possible and can move the country forward if implemented. However, this is what he says and every leader when elected muct be held accountable to what they say otherwise the same promises must be used against him in another election.

  33. #5o i agree with u’ last time he invited mugabe after counting two ballot boxes. Dictator! And pipo r shouting pabwatooo!! Sad! Bakaponya.

  34. You serial liar Satana ,where are you going toget the money from to make toilets flush in Luapula province?Stop cheating those pipo they have had enough lies from you and your cronies, hope you do not sink in the lake.MMD HAS BROUGHT REAL DEVELOPMENT TO THAT PROVINCE UNDER LEVY THAN EVEN FTJ EVER TRIED MISERABLY.KABWALALA SATANA WHERE IS THE MONEY FROM THE TRANKS GONE TO HOW MUCH DID YOU GET FROM THERE?

  35. Ladies and gentlemen, read the signs of things to come. Don’t be doubting Thomases. What has happened in Kanchibiya to-day will be reproduced on 30 October 2008. No one can change that fact. All those who have negative thoughts on Ba mudala will be shamed just like Thomas was shamed when he discovered that the person he was doubting was actually Jesus Christ after he dipped his finger in the side of Christ. Remember: Ni pa bwatooooooooo.

  36. GO GO SATA!!!!! GO TO SOUTHERN,WESTERN,N/WESTERN THEN U AR DONE.
CONGRATS FOR MPIKA VICTORY U ARE A MAN OF ACTION….PA CHI BWATOOO…..

  37. HH would have been best placed supporing Sata in this election and seeking pres in 2011, but he has wasted his chance! Bad timing HH. Here there are 2 races. First is between the people of Zambia (represented by Sata), and a bunch of ****** using RB. The other is for last position between HH and Miyanda.

  38. Ndefwaya fye RB uno umwaka and then tukavotela abaume beka fuma ku Mangalande mu 2011. Tamwabaumfwapo abaume balefuma kuma ngalande? Loleni mukamona.

  39. #40 I strongly believe you dont know the difference between hard working and dictatorship. Sata has always encouraged pipo to work hard and for those of you who dont believe in hard work that is being a dictator. Zambia needs someone who will inspire others to work hard and improve their standard of living.Zambia is blessed with abundant natural resources that can be used to transform her as a enoconomic centre for excellency if people can dedicate themselves to work. Sata has proven as a man of action and no ministry he was incharged failed to improve. Encouraging people is not dictatorship.

  40. sata talks about practical issues and is on record to have delivered on what he talks about, belive me or not by 2011 you will all want to re-elect him as presido.
mwashala mweka imwe, kuno ku china bonse tuli mu BWATOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. kumo na ma choncholee.

  41. Winning in northern and luapula does not guarantee him victory without campaigning in western and southern. Thats the same mistake he made in the last election

  42. Secondary school every 10km ,these are lies Sata. 27 yrs with KK, 10 yrs with FTJ and a ……yrs with LPM. What is it that you couldnt do all these yrs that you can do now. Cant waist my vote on a dictator like you. Try HELL.

  43. viva hhhhhhhhhh f0r president go head this your chance to rule this country and motivate dull people in our country .

  44. viva hhhhhhhhhh f0r president go head this is your chance to rule this country and motivate dull people in our country .

  45. He is winding up campaigns in his strongholds today and proceeds to other provinces. Watch this space, ll keep you informed! Pabwato

  46. Hakainde sounds very inteligent. But I have a question to ask, If Sakwiba was a Tonga was HH going to challenge him for the UPND presidence? Mr HH, the Mwananjiti’s and Madyenkuku’s dented yo image. You are a good candidate but people fear the support-tribal-that made you president. Work hard to remove the tribal image that people still hav in their minds. Come 2011, you will scoop victory. This year’s battle is between Sata and RB

  47. The truth HH will not match Mazoka Mazoka had vision, you the so called TONGAS you willnever be President not even in milion years to come. Mazoka had put people from other tribe to second to him just to balance, Mr. Chisanga, Bob Sichinga look at SATA Given Lubinda, Guy Scot you HH my dear will not make it. face the facts. 72 votes in Kanchibiya those are TONGAS working Tazara, Change your style other wise you are wasting your money even me I can not vote for you. You are a tribalist.

  48. Gooday fellow grobal citizens it is indeed a pleasure to be acquainted with Pf especially looking at the fact that zambia needs a new directions from the failed economic policies of the current administation. Its time to stand up and say Pf yes we can.Have a blessed election day.Nb: that our campaign allows the freedom of expression whether critical or constructive so voice out your opinion for you are what you say

  49. #2 you very right over the HH approch in elections, however I would love to let you know that HH is a capitalist ideas on the paper without any practicals is nothing. the guy is educated but does not make a good leader. one he is selfish and does not pay his workes well, worse still he calls his house wprkers ” mwe bana bambwa mwenchushi mwe” you children of the dogs, cansurely that be a good leader
    sata is the best.

  50. One thing you must bear in mind is that although Sata worked in Governement for that long he has a track record which is impeccable. None of the other candidates have such a track record. HH’s track record is a private sector experience. RB is trying to fit into the shoes of Levy, and leadership doesnt work like that unfrotunately. you have to think big when you are working under some one’s instruction its different with when you are the boss right! so this is situation by the way we need change in zambia presidence should not be like loyal where by whenthe king dies the other one succeeds no.

  51. Pipo supporting HH I am with you but not during this election. Come 2011 HH will get my vote because he has shown that he is not a tribalist as pipo think but am casting for Sata so he can inspire pipo to work hard. He has demonstrated to us that good things come through hard work and determination. Viva Sata and Viva PF.

  52. What money is HH going to give to the poor. You people should look at things with both eyes.Mr HH has alot of money, not money like salary for the president,to him that is nothing.
He wants to go to plot one of this country and protect his person mones, his business, animals and many more things that he has.
He wants to creat a better protection over all he has.The salary is nothing.

  53. #17, u could be right but the thing is we need to go to these other provinces we performed badly in 2006. we have only 2 weeks before elections.

    viva sata viva pabwatooooooooooo

  54. There is nothing tangible that comes out of SATA’s mouth. The Guy is stuck in Northern and Luapula Provinces and he thinks he can win.

We however know that his big fight is with his own MP’s. His vote is split. I even doubt if he will manage in Luapula.

  55. #90 Yaba

Sorry to pick on you. But you must try to understand, SATA is more like a building Foreman. He is good at carrying out bosses directives. He learnt it during the colonial days when he was a kapaso for the colonialists.

  56. # 82 imwe mumoneka kwati chakutinishako abaiche muleeba ba president ifyo …

VIVA VIVA PF IFWE NI PA BWA WAWAWAWAWAWAWAWAWAWAWAW TO

  57. Its imaginable how pple enjoy lies!!! How mamy villages are in Zambia fr each to have an extension officer or is it only in Luapula hes talking about? Shameless liar!! HH has track record of making money and thats what we need in Zed and not politics bcz we cant eat them. Viva HH

  58. Hear, hear, hear a GRZ vehicle was found with ballot papers going to unknown constituency yesterday and when the driver was asked ,he said he didnt know that he carried ballot papers.Gentlemen lets vote out these thieves out of office.Viva sata

  59. Its good ka sata is stuck in Luapula and Northern Provinces. Lusaka is going RB.

Lusaka URBAN has gonne MMD. Go RB GO! Viva RB.

  60. Sata is the man we want who can turn dreams to reality. He has a good strategy by first campaigning were he has support so that 1 week before the elections he can go to eastern, northwestern, southern and western for he already has over 80% in the other provinces

  61. why is it that satanyo use bemba during public rallies and yet the same is seen as a crime when tonga is used? Is satanyo going to use bemba amapinda at UN? we dont need an extention of congolese.
We shall then intorduce visa at Mazabuka to enter Southern pronvice.

  62. Iwe #88 na 90 ubufi bangwele. mwaba u kupala bambuya benu ba sata. !!!! ELo u panks are the ones bringing this country backwards by your tribal hatred filled hatred. Which Zambia did u grow up from!!! one Zambia one nation!!!! andf choose the best not people who cant even campaign else where because they are tribal. a few chaps. Lubinda is the only non Bemba in that top leadership what are u saying !!! ala

  63. Viva Visa in Southern province.
I was surprised last time i visited Zambia. Most Bembas don even have a simple chicken in Impoverished Northern Provice and Luapula.
They need refugee status in Southern Province

  64. eh, BA #90 Tonono

Is that fact or is it just hearsay. Please lets back up the things we say with hardcore facts.

I am very sure HH pays a better salary to his maids than what Sata gives his maids.

All I can see from the HH haters is nothing but jealousy of the man’s success. The fact is he has made it and you haven’t. Deal with it and stop envying and being jealous of his success.

How much does Sata pay his workers??

Didn’t Sata threaten health workers with firing because they wanted to strike due to poor salaries.

Lets not forget Sata supported Chiluba’s third term bid and did not speak up or resign when he was witnessing Chiluba’s scandalous dealings.

  65. Zambia needs some one who knows how money is made. them u can have a conducive environment to run your businesses because he has been there. Your sata has a track record in sweeping the streets, and bullying poorly paid civil servants. he has no right to talk abpout things he failed to influence his presidents in the past to do.

Vote for new blood. people with the right experience> u think we’ll eat clean hospitals and streets when the economy has no money!

  66. My friend Konkomalimba uli shani? wamona aba bemba banobe uku tumpa pakunya. baleta satan mu scene. nomba ukabwela pa zed nangu shani. Sata alefwa next year May admitted first in SA. Another funeral maweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee twalila basa. Ba HH to pride na bena ninshi talking about salary? best man for the job.
By the way VISA to enter southern province a must.

  67. Chiluba did not pick Sata to succeed him in the MMD and Kaunda does not endorse Sata.

It is like PF Cadres have selective hearing and resort to poisoning the well when trying to criticize HH because they know if we had to talk about policy, they would have nothing on the policies PF is trying to implement because PF has got no policies planned.

  68. Those who listen to fake promoses of Sata if they have good memory, they should recall that this is the same sort of language he was using when campaigning for FTJ in 1991 and 1996.
Zambians have very short memories because they dont keep diaries of events and speeches.
For 10 yrs he worked with FTJ.
Why did he not bring that development he is now talking about.

  69. 111 wamano mwe !!! No guys noti ukuba tribal how do you expect some of us from mbala to do business in Livinstone and choma. musai taye

  70. 113. Kaliyoliyo matebela

behave yourself. I want to open a lodge in livingstone. Stop being a tribalist bigot.

You are the people who tarnish HH’s image.

I am now even considering RB.

  71. All level headed and well meaning Bembas I interact with have endorsed HH as the future.
How can future be in a man who a while ago had a heart attack?
What kind of thinking is that?
That is why his 7 MPs in Luapula are campaigning for RB.
Nkani ya lula for Sata in Luapula. Mwazinvelela.
As for supporters of RB, do not bring back UNIP in Zambia. We can have UNIP back in 2026. They had their time to rule Zambia for 27 yrs.

  72. Ladies and Gentlemen

Michael Sata has so far proved to us that he is a man of action. He swept clean all the ministries he ever worked for and he really made an impact.

This is something that has attracted a lot of jealous from people like Dr. Kenneth Kaunda of Ba Sata.Truthfully, speaking the basis for something to become president is good performance at ministrtial level.Suffice to say Sata can make good president because he believes in action not rhetoric.

    Viva Ba Sata

  73. Luapula Provine has alot of potential, the only problem is its people, they like stealing (Nachitola fye). Thats a draw back.
Take a serious investment their you will cry, because of the same characteristic with the Congolese.

  74. Hydro power generation does not depend on water only, you need alot more, like head and a resevoir/dam for use in the times when the flow of water is low. Luapula can have water but does it have the other requirements. I wonder

  75. Yes Sata supporters> want us to go for another By election in 2009!!!
Save us the derailments !!! we want change and its coming ka !!!!!
VIVA HHHHHHHHH HHHHHHH HHHHH HHHHHH H HHHHH HH

  76. people rember this SATA is the same culprit during the chiluba gov who was in the forefront organising call boys to beat up opposition parties……he is part and parcel of the FTJ plundering team ..the only difference is that his ignorance saved him since he always got his money in the briefcase and not through checks. where all of a sudden has acquired all this wealth for him to be flying around the country….we need accountability for this. ist this the same Satana who was busy pushing for FTJ’s 3rd term? people lets wake up and say no to Hipocrisy

  77. Yes … we all knew that, even when you were Min. without Port. in FTJ GRZ the water was still enough. And are you ever going to campaign outside your strongholds? Start talking to Zambia and not to one tribe or part of the country lest you accuse MMD of rigging again. We are sick and tired of your excuses, start speaking Ila, Lenje, Luvale, Nyengo, etc coz they are all zambians, this thing of appeasing your tribesmen will come to haunt you again. And start talking issues not tissues for a change, tell us what you are going to do and NOT what MMD is not doing.

  78. You bring a colonial Policeman to preside over Zambia and you will see him bring the tyrany of Colonial District Commissioner he worked for when he arrested Zambian independence activits (freedom fighters).
Shame on the blind supporters many of whom do not even understand that they are equally entitled to bread and butter.

  79. 127 if you are tribal, dont include us. I for one I’m not. That is why I have married a lady from another province. Abash tribalism. Tribalism is for old fashioned politicians. I don’t know why issue of tribalism only comes out in politics and not in everyday life like marriages

  80. Sure basaa, not even a free range chicken.
These poverty stricken Notherners that is why they become thieves, crooks, conmen, prostitutes and layabouts

  81. when it comes to layalty i think that Mr Sata has character. Remember how he and mr sampa were so loyal to dr chiluba til the end. Even Jesus said to those of his desciples who stuck with him ” you are those who have stayed with me in my trials and therefore i bestow on you the kingdom” Sata is patriotic. now compare him to tentamashimba who betrayed his own president – mazoka.

  82. So all you guys are telling me that you have not thought about the technical aspect of all this. Plenty of water is not all you need to build HEP. There’s plenty of it in the Atlantic. Try making HEP there. I wish you guys could use the gray matter too. Relief is important.

  83. The boat has sank in Luapula. 7 of Sata’s MPs punched 7 big,big holes in the boat.
This has indeed saddened the Presidential hopeful Sata.
    Even Chama chakomboka had suppoters.
That is how some Zambians lose their senses.
To govern a country is not like governing a ministry.
There are many characteristics you need to have.
Viva HHH HHH HHH HHH HHH HHH
    Infact you are tripple H

  84. #137. Kitwight
Don’t compare Jesus to Chiluba. Followers of Christ are christians while followers of Sata are…….
    You guessed right.

  85. Hon Sata you need to gorge to make a Hydroelectric power station and not water only. So, Hon. Sata, explain how Luapula Province will have a Hydroelectric Power Station and where will it be situated when you are elected President of Zambia by a terrible mistake.
He said it was sad that Zambians had remained poor despite the country having abundant natural resources and qualified manpower.

Mr Hichilema added that the population of 12 million people was too small to have the majority wallowing in poverty.
Meanwhile, Mr Hichilema has said the widespread problem of street kids in Zambia was an MMD phenomenon arising from poor economic performance by the ruling party. Times of Zambia.

  86. Um guys i have just remembered what sata did with Chiluba! My trust is compromised, i think i head these stories before, actually they got him the name Kin Cobra.

God Bless these forgetful fella’s with a memory like mine!!!

  87. SATA’s supporters choose to ignore the weightier dark side of him and instead pick on his unsubstatiated successes.

His supporters have gonne to the extent of naming such trivial issues as ‘providing nurses uniforms’ as evidence of his capabillity and potential. This is to say the least most insulting to the intelligence of Zambians.

The mere fact that they strain out SATA’s percieved successes is evidence enough of their tribalistic and unjustified support for him. This above all else is the most disappointing aspect of SATA’s followers.

  88. #137. Kitwight. Thanks for your revelation about Sata’s patriotism to FTJ. But do you remember and notice his loyalty was because he thought when the 3rd Term failed he would be the next president. Is that what you call loyalty or patriotism to the end?
Both Sampa and Sata ditched FTJ.
My brother try and recollect your mind.
Infact Sata in unpredictable and without principle.
This is a man you will never hold accountable.

  89. # 2 & 13, you are spot on, why now talking about abundant water resources now when you could have done so during KK & FTJ’s reign. Mwebantu this man is lying and can’t be trusted. Please people of Zambia open your eyes this cherry coated talks will land us in trouble and Sata is one person who fails to reason when he insists even on a wrong move. Anyway this blog will still be there after your so called Captain sails to Plot 1 and I hope you won’t change your blog names. I will maintain mine and laugh at you.

  90. MY BEMBA FRIENDS HAVE SUDDENLY BECOME HOSTILE TO ME. WE CAN NO LONGER DEBATE ISSUES PROFESSIONALLY BECOZ OF THESE ELECTIONS. IT IS A PITY WHAT TRIBAL SENTIMENTS IN ELECTIONS CAN DO…

  91. Those dissident PF MPs are going to hurt Sata and his henchmen big time.RB is expoliting this rift and it will bring the lying and spitting cobra down, hence sinking the titanic. This man only appeals to one tribe so how can he be a president of nation with 72 tribes? KK could speak over 30 of these tribes comfortably.HH has pu a promisory not for the youth, well, FTJ promised us the same, remember, I cannot remember whether he honored his promise.I hope voting zambians will see thro all these issues and vote wisely.

  92. The Pabwato slogan, his entirely stationing in Luapula and Northern Provinces, campaign language ever and always in Bemba and simply ever only espousing improvements in the two mentioned provinces is clear cut un-adulterated tribalism.

Why should he think that the two provinces is what constitutes Zambia? At least he should give an apology for this clear inclination to the people of the said provinces.

Does he think the rest of the people of Zambia are cheap and non entities?

  93. Is this what we need surely?

Mr Sata addressing a rally in Kasama recently: “epo mfikile pano nshumfwile po uunyele icisushi pantu muli ne nsala elyo tamwikuta!”

That is representative of the syntax of the PF language! If u don’t know how to insult u r out of place at PF!

  94. This is man who acts spontaneously. He leaps without looking.
He was the architect of the Motorcar Theft bill in parliament.
This same bill he engineered and supported when he was minister was used on him.
Remember he was remanded for not less than 30 days because the law himself and MMD had enacted stipulated that motorcar theft was not bailable.
Is this man to be made president?
Blind Zambians. Come on enter the perforated boat. Go Zambia Go . Ni pa bwato. To your demise. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

  95. LOOK AT THE DOLLAR DEPRECIATING AT THE PROSPECTS OF KING COBRA IN PLOT ONE. THERE IS TOTAL APPREHENSION IN THIA FRAGILE ECONOMY. THIS COUNTRY CANNOT AFFORD TYRANNY…

  96. Its my first time to hear Sata speak on issues, well the idea is good except that he is copying from what HH has been pounding on both Muvi and ZNBC.

HH is a trend setter, now even Sata is trying hard to speak on real issues, that good. Keep it PF.These are deciding moments, they cannot afford to continue negative campaigning.

  97. ba LT, whats up, I’m having problems posting. Those MPs are scared for their jobs once PF wins, Sata is winning this election and those MPs will be in sh*t.

Where is Shetani and Osama Bin something, you guys gazumped me on the sweet 25.

  98. A bit of Issue based campaign from Sata for the first time congrats for the improvement tho he pirated all this from HH.At least I have seen that HH is slowly changing the way politics are being run in the country. HH is the best man for the job but as always, zambians go for the worst! Its a wait and see situation!

  99. Yesterday, i was watching Muvi TV where HH was speaking,My Bemba wife told me “sweetheart,am very worried,i was watching news about the G7, Credit crisis etc, when i look at our kids, i get worried of the forthcoming elections, among all the candidates HH has adressed all these issues adquatly, now what would happen if he Losses.what would happen because we cant afford to loose this man.Look at his answers they are all based on written records (manifesto).”

She told me to tell UPND guyz on tyhe blogg to continue sponsoring that Program, coz its really helpful.

  100. ESK whats good bro. one leona dissed us last nite ati we cant post at nite coz internet cafes are closed, rubbish, get a life leona some of us have demanding jobs and we cant afford to waste time posting rubbish on this blog.ubushiku kulala, thats why you end up beings witches and wizards

  101. Who are in the forefront to quell any meaningful attacks on SATA on this blog? The Bemba bloggers. This is pathetic.

Why is that Bemba is now a sign language for insults. SATA is well known for his unpalatables and it seems cultually accepted to him and his pinions.

Tell them about, critical issues about SATA, they simply ignore and instead pour incessant praise on this capable tyranny. God forbid that Zambia should ever have the indecency of having SATA as president.

  102. What is the managers job? It is to direct the resources and the efforts of the business toward opportunities for economically significant results. This sounds trite — and it is. But every analysis of actual allocation of resources and efforts in business that I have ever seen or made showed clearly that the bulk of time, work, attention, and money first goes to problems rather than to opportunities, and, secondly, to areas where even extraordinarily successful performance will have minimal impact on results.

  103. Congrats Sata for winning that seat, but remember that I am not part of the coward Zambians that want to pretend to have forgoten how you deposited Local Authority Workers Salaries country wide into your own personal Standard Chartered Bank A/C as Local Gvt Minister, how you offered your own company a contract to build council houses (Mezaf), how health workers went on strike due to lack of gloves while you were Minister of Health, how you organised fellow thugs in the name of Bobo in 2001, carrying a matchet in Chawama.

What reason can I have to vote for someone like you? Viva HH for President on October 30th, 2008!!!

  104. @ 160 Munyono

The sad part is some people are saying HH for 2011 forgetting the situation the world is currently in. We need a true economic manager because at the time the world is experiencing a global economic crisis, only people in the know how of true economics will be able to deliver the countries in crisis.

Though I hate to say it but from the negative that happened (LPM passing), God has given us a chance as Zambia to pull through this global economic crisis. He has given us HH and all we have to do is choose him to lead us. If we choose someone else (Sata), we will not make it as a nation in this economic crisis. God has given us a choice, pull through or stay behind. vote wisely

  105. Quick question bloggers.

We are in a Global economic crisis. Who do you think will solve Zambia’s problem during this crisis.

    SATA

    or

    HAKAINDE HICHILEMA.

  106. ALA BASATA UBUFI!!!!!!!!!!!!.WHY WAS THIS NOT IMPLEMENTED WHEN YOU WERE IN GOBERNMENT.HE THINKS ZAMBIANS ARE SO DULL THAT WILL BELIEVE ANYTHING.
PLEASE TWAPAPATA GIVE US A BREAK.

  107. I’m not a PF supporter, but from the way things are going, the boat is cruising at 30 knots, it’s unstoppable, unless it water level bcomes low, which is unlikely.

  108. BANE NOMBA TWALATAMPA UKUBWELA KU ZAMBIA FWE BAMU DIASPORA. I BELIEVE SATA WILL DO GREAT THINGS FOR ZAMBIA. ZAMBIA IS A STINKING RICH COUNTRY FOR PIPO TO BE IN SUCH MAGNITUDE OF POVERTY. VIVA PF PABWATO FYE

  109. 165, ba Levy said Zambians forget very easily and we are condemned him for that statement.. but sadly he was right. If we were not a forgetful nation we wouldn’t go for Sata

  110. I read on PF barner at Manda Hills bridge,It reads something like like No Loadshedding. If this is one of the ways PF is going to address this issue well thats good news to zambians, the worry is Sata’s timming,he has served in all the 3 administrations, why hide such a brilliant idea to his suppervisers.

You see Zambian are the same and amaze me,one man said,” When a Nigerian is asked to work for Multinational firms or UN, he pulls along many of his nationals, with zambians its opposite.

No wonder Sata had hidden his playing cards to shine at this forth coming election, but why now Mr Sata.

  111. No wonder Sata held his cards to his chest while we suffered ZESCO black outs,Is that what we call opposition.

Anyone who wins let them learn to consult his friends,be is R.B,HH ,Miyanda or Sata.

  113. #167 satanho, paul said in the bible and i quote :”when you’re in rome do what the romans do”. most bloggers here talk rubbish and i see this only as an oppotunity for me to get rid of bad energy so that i can perform well job wise.thats why i always swear. by the way you’re one of those i refered to

  114. I urge all HH supporters to take this to our communities.. let the good news hit the streets like a storm! we need change we can count on and lets educate our blind colleagues. I know they are not dull they’ll follow through.

  115. #14, HH and you are hallucinating. How do you promise your salary as a solution to the problems of the vulnerable children in Zambia? Where are your so called “economic skills” then? Desperation has caught up with him, instead advancing economic issues, he is perpetuating personal glory. HH, a Zambian President salary can’t support even an orphanage. Talk issues here and not empty fixed salaries you are cheating innocent civil servants. Only one man has been consistent in current race to plot one, SATA. He has been consistent on major developmental issues and that what count since 2001 to date. People know who the true leader is. RB is visionless and a plunderer. Imagine IMAGE BUILDERS,SHAME

  116. Sata again with a lie. we all know Luapula has a lot of water but once in power you can do 0% boyi.
Tobacco ku farm is waiting do not waste your time here, you are just too old Mudala.

  117. DURING THE TIME OF NOAH, PIPO WERE TOLD TO GET INTO THE BOAT COZ THE EARTH WAS DROWNING BUT THEY REFUSED UNTIL THEY DROWNED. SO GET INTO THE BOAT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  118. guys those who think sata is only campaigning in his area are pipo who do not read papers.pf has won and should be congratulated.insults are for pipo with no vision.those that have done economics would agree that within 90 days change can be seen if the limited resources are used well. we dont want pipo who sit in parliament the whole day doing nothing to continue stealing our money. POWER TO THE PIPO. VIVA SATA NIPA BWATO GUYS

  119. Hiding cards to our chest has been politics in zambia,Chakomboka told us he knows where mineral and oil deposits are,but said he would only show us when he gets to plot1.Mazoka,said his American friends were willing to pump is Billions of dollars worth of investments into zambia, but that will be after we give him our vote.

Chakomboka is still alive and watching us suffer from wherever he is without sharing notes with his friends so that we develop. The same mindset is there in the opposition, Sata has just confirmed it.

With this mindset we will continue suffering.

  120. #178. REAL CHANGE

You make me laugh. What developmental issues has Sata talked about besides insulting the opposition. Fine so you have attacked HH on the presidential salary thing, but did he say how he was going to use it to help the youth, what if was going to pay university fees with the salary or give it out in loans to the youth so they can start businesses. HH is a businessman and don’t forget that.

Now you explain to me how Sata will bring about development within 90 days???

  121. All you guys who are doubting why don’t you just vote for the boat and you’ll see if these are empty promises or not

  122. cont…

Don’t forget this was a man who was saying he is going to demolish all the compounds and build new houses within 90 days. He doesn’t even know where the money will come from and how it will be acquired (more tax). He has been in govt since KK up until FTJ, why didn’t he do all that or at least suggest it. Why now??

I see Mr. Sata using Gonomics and going to the prining press to pay for all that.

  123. Chachine ni pa BWATOOOOOO fye. Spread the word. By the CONGRATS to ato all of yuo guys in PF for the LAND SLIDEEEEEEEE Victory. Time to even intesify the campaigns. Viva Sata , ACTIONS speak louder than words.

  124. VIVA SATA VIVA PABWATOO TO LEOBA UNOMWAKA.PANIC HAS GRIPPED THEM!!!NOTHING LASTS FOREVER.CHANGE IS NOW.CENTRAL, COPPERBELT, LUSAKA, NORTHERN, LUAPULA,WESTERN, SOUTHERN, NOTH-WESTERN AND EASTERN WE ARE COMING. THE LORD IS SAVING HIS PIPO FROM THE FLOADS.
    PABWATOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  125. @ #181. SOUND

Please I am economically illiterate. Please point me to one country that has moved from poor to middle income status within 90 days. Please show me a country where development has taken place within 90 days. Please show me the economic model that will be used or at least plans that must or will be implemented to spur development within 90 days.

    Please school me.

  126. Iwe Ka Free Market Capitalist #183 Katwishi nganiwebo Chi Free Market Capitalist – How has Banda managed to reduce the fuel price and load shedding in less than 30 days? Sata has no empty promises he has perfomed and I’m sure in the next three years he will steer development in this country just wait …30 October 2008 Nipa Bwato.

  127. Real Change, you are not sincere, dont allow tribe blind you to the truth. The post is there,go back read through. It will not take you more than 3 papers to see SATA has never been consistent on anything.

The South African Authorities confisticated is it 27 Billion,What did the man say was the source. The post refused to believe his justifications, tyhe man up to now has not claimed that money.

2006-Anti Chinese,Anti Indians 2008, Pro Chinese.Pro Indian,2008 Pro CRC got even the first allowances, after the Catholics withdrew he ambandoned CRC,now where is the consistency.Dont just talk what you dont understand, consistyency consistency my foot.

  128. @#189. Mwine M

This is why I like you PF cadres. You show what you are all about on this blog. You still haven’t answered anything. I still don’t know how Sata is going to bring about development within 90 days. You have not explained to me. You haven’t told me what he is going to do to bring about development within 90 days.

As for RB. Only one word can answer that question…..MONOPOLIES.

  129. iwe # 134, your comment is very valid. We also want you to comment on the issue at hand, ‘the luapula story’. here is my comment: the idea of Mr sata building a secondary school every 10km in each district does not sound realistic. I do, however, agree with him on the need to increase the number of secondary schools and to harness the natural resources each province is endowed with to better people’s lives. God has a plan for Zambia and it will come to pass.

  130. #192 I suggest that you read that article again, he says he is going to do a few things in 90 days. And it is spelled c a p i t a l i s t

  131. There is no need Free Market Capitalist to look for a country when we have Councils run by PF.In the first 90 days councils saw a very high level of illiteracy,in 90 days councils say Councilors entering councils with tropicals now driving big cars,in 90 days we saw fat Council slimming to extents far than a effects of HIV.

90 days was a joke,a shame, no wonder its not talked about now.

  132. There is no need Free Market Capitalist to look for a country when we have Councils run by PF.In the first 90 days councils saw a very high level of illiteracy,in 90 days councils saw Councilors entering councils gates with tropicals now driving big cars,in 90 days we saw fat Council slimming to extents far than a effects of HIV.In 90 days councils saw councillors shifting from compounds to Woodlands,

90 days was a joke,a shame, no wonder its not talked about now.

  133. i totally agree with #2 and #192 coz its elections time and he wants to come out as GOD himself….firstly we need to know how the govt operates and not this foolish talk of 90 days…not even in a developed nation that can happen!!!!!come 30 october, vote wisely!!!!

  134. @ 193. Samsung Mbewe

Lusaka times has limited the amount of letters I am allowed to use when writing my username. I used to use “capitalist” but now I am limited to “capitlst”. But what matters is you can still read it and understand what I mean.

Oh, and you still have not addressed the issue. If it is so simple, you wouldn’t point me to the article, you would write what he plans to implement with ease.

  135. The economic policies of PF cant even be understood by SATA himself. SATA’s main support are his relatives THE BEMBA. His simple strategy is woo enough Bemba following and make noise and threats.

It is pointless to try and talk issue with PF supporters. Their leader is ignorant. At least the best the BEMBA can do is look for an EDUCATED Bemba, not this SATA.

  136. #192 Free Market Capitalist

Sata knows and understands the way things in government are run. During his ministirial appointments, Sata advocated for projects to run, the moment the man left all these projects stalled. The Merzaf flats were abandoned, the Hospital schemes became a shell and the list goes on… What Sata is saying is that within 90 days of assuming power, people will begin to see that the ship is being steered in the right direction. Positive change is one that impacts on the lives of people, it translates to the simple basic needs of humanity. I believe in the man because we are not just starting but we have structures that already exist and can support such a project. PF

  137. to bad for mr sata 7 MPS are supporting mmd sorry you need prayers in your party togenther with yo cadres.i wish Prophet TB JOSHUA of synagogue church of all nations can just deliver our dear grandpa mr sata from insults becoz its like he has the spirit of a snack since he is referred to as king cobra, making him have a bad temple even to his Mps his cadres are uncontrolled everywhere. ask for wisdom from God so that you can be wise. viva HH you SURELY have the wisdom from the O’might God. RB is a good PARENT but this not his time 2 vie for presidency (retired).

  138. SATA stance in todays politics is exactly the stance of his relative CHISATA the sixties and seventies. This GUY CHISATA tried to bring about a bemba uprising in UNIP in those days.

I wonder whether CHISATA was related to this SATA?

  139. SATA is a good for nothing old talkative primitive backward politician with fit for the bin eroded brains who acts as a microphone repeating the good ideas that he gets from the wise words of HH. Sata has no capacity to implement because he doesnt have the know how. thats why all responsible zambians should vote for HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  140. STUDY ECONOMICS.WHEN YOU KNOW THE QUANTITY OF PRODUCTS THAT YOU ARE PRODUCING YOU WILL KNOW HOW TO DISTRIBUTE THEM AND TO WHO. AND POINT OF CORRECTION HE DID NOT SAY HE WILL CHANGE THE COUNTRY IN 90DAYS BUT THAT PIPO WILL BE ABLE TO SEE CHANGE IN 90 DAYS.PABWATOOO EPALIAMAKA BAKALAMBA NANGU MULANDESHANI NIPABWATO.AND BY THE WAY IM NOT BEMBA SO IM NOTE VOTING ON TRIBAL ISSUES

  141. #203 xutazclan – 55 votes says you’re right, 5,188 say I’m right. That’s democracy, regardless of how much you insult Sata…

  142. 204. SOUND

You have not explained anything to me. All you have told me is to study economics. I don’t have time for a 4 year course.

Sata has not even made his plan public. How will people be able to judge if it is tangible or not.

And what change are we going to see within 90 days???

Sata had 27 years of UNIP and 10 years of MMD and the only change we saw was new uniforms for nurses. What change are we talking about??

How is Sata going to stabilize the Zambian economy during this global economic crisis???

Only HH can deliver change. BTW, I am not Tonga.

  143. Free Market Capitalist and Anonymous – I understand your concerns. Sata understands the way things are run in government and so I can firmly say the man knows what he is talking about. Secondly, Zambia is not starting from scratch, we already have a structure that can support any system and all we need is to set our priorities and have a man in front who can steer such development. 90 days is enough for people to see that the ship is being steered by the right captain into the right direction.

  144. This reminds me of the once upon Zambia National Soccer Team, who had most players from Luapula and Northern Provinces, they thought they would win the Africa Cup of Nations. The same is going to happen with Wato wa Sata

  145. Sata and his supporters need to hold their fire. It is not long ago when Sata was leading and made arrangements for his inauguration ceremony. Now after winning a seat in his stronghold, he (Sata) and his cadres think that will automatically be translated to the whole Zambia. Be true to yourselves, you will avoid heart attacks. Sata will again lose these elections cleanly. Those that dispute this prediction, lets meet again on LT after 30 Oct.

  146. To educate our young people, the 70’s the Bembas claimed that Zambia comprised about 70% bemba speakers and as such they Bembas where entitled to to an equivalent share of power. They (Bembas) believed that they were not given a fair deal.

A lot of dirty linen was washed in public then as a result of this disgruntledness of the Bemba faction in UNIP. This John Chisata was one guy who thought Kaunda was been unfair to Bembas.

To this very day most BEMBAS think they are the single majority and want to Bulldoze other tribes.

  147. Biggie Mambala. No need to hold our fire. Its guns blazing to State House You must be an id..t to think that Sata would lose!

  148. How bad things went in the 70’s, Kaunda had to appoint a commission of inquiry the charges by the Bemba faction.

At that time ‘Times of Zambia’ -editor-in-chief was Dunstan Kamana, who was a former presidential press secretary and Director of Information who had long been close to Kaunda, he yet came out scathing at Kaunda with some articles which headed ‘An end to Politics?’- Surprisingly similarly to The Post newspaper behaviour today.

This was a most trying time for Zambias emerging politics and about the same time the coup d `etat in Uganda.

  149. It’s true that Luapula has a wealt of natural resources and Sata is the one to ensure that something is done.He is a very practical man and I am sure he will win.He can be rest assured that he has the whole of luapula!

  150. Bakabolala bama votes balibekata yesterday. Did you watch muvi tv news. The Madam (mrs… ishina lyachisungu) was so confused and terrified. There is no chance for rigging this time.

  151. Kaunda had to take a tougher line with his coleagues in UNIP to quell this brewing storm.

This atmosphere in which Zambia was faced with had a bearing on the economic direction that Zambia took. The Reforms of 1972 where partly adressing Political issues other than just economic issues.

  152. YOU CAN SAY BAD THINGS/RUBBISH ABOUT SATA BUT COME 1/11/08 HE WILL BE YR PRESDO AND WILL FORGIVE ALL OF YOU FOR BEING SARCASTIC TO HIM. BUT THE FACT STILL REMAINS THAT, WE DONT WANT TO VOTE FOR FREE MASON HH! NO NO NO GOD BIDS!!!!!!

  153. SATA’s suppoters exactly exhibit the same flavour as their colleagues in the 70’s and please people of Zambia be aware of the seeds of Bemba supremicism that SATA is sowing inthese elections.

  154. Rupiah, grow up. How do you address a rally with no agenda to tell pipo, other than talking about Sata. Sata is giving us his direction e.g what he said in Luapula. We don’t want a cook, we want to be taught how to cook that nshima so that when we are hungry we cook for ourselves. Abashi nidani apika nsima lelo. Viva Ubwato for empowerment and development. At least we can take him to task on what he has said, than asking you said you would cook nshima. What kind of development is in cooking nshima.

  155. #47 Thick before you speak!!!!!!!!!Luapula pipo are not lazy at all, they feed themselves, have u ever heard of relief food distribution in that province? Eastern and southern are the most hunger stricken provinces. HH why shud say u wil donate yo salary to the youths if you have never donated to yo pipo in southern province who are starving? these pipo are so lazy they cant even dig pit latrines, they use the bush. HH the road to your farms in Namwala is soooooooooo bad u have never bothered to do anything dispite having a lot of money.
pipo its vote for someone who knows wat it means to be poor.

    ICINTU CINTU UMWENE………….

  156. #211 Anonymous, Please stop spreading anti-Bemba propaganda here. It is you who needs to be re-educated and here are the facts: The Bemba form the largest tribe in the Northern Province and they are undoubtedly one of the major tribes in the country. Since many of them moved away to the Copperbelt and Lusaka, the total number of Bemba people is not known. The approx. population of the original Bembas could be around 1 million. Note, however, that various groups of previous immigrant tribes such as the Lungu, Tabwa and Fiba were also conquered, subjugated and assimilated by the Bemba into their Kingdom, thereby enlargening it extensively to a population of well over 2.5 million.

  159. “He (Hon. Sata) also said his government would do away with basic education and instead promote secondary education by constructing more schools.” Source: Times of Zambia.

    Q. So what is Sata saying/showing in effect?
    A. Ignorance.

  160. CB, Luapula and Northern Province constitute only a querter of this country. Winning in Mpika doea not make PF winning the national election.

Someone said the 78 votes UPND got came from Tongas in Mpika, if this is the case then the Bembas should be voted for in ereas where they dont originate from. Therefore, it will right to ask the easterners, Southerners,N/Westerners, westerner, central and lusaka rural pipo not to vote sata as he is bisa/bemba since in Kachibiya they have decided to vote for their own man just as RB instructed easterners to so. Shame on Sata and those Bemba tribalists. VIVA HH

  161. #229

You Nine Chale have openly stated ‘I am a Proud Bemba’. Be the last to criticise me.

I am simply bringing out some historically factual material. I am not speculating but simply bringing parallels between then and now. Between contemporally historic events and the present.

  162. Napali Nowa efyo cali abantu balemona ati napena. Wait until it rains then u wil need the boat. only a few days remaining noah sata is preaching!!!!!!!!!!!!
EVEN IN SOUTHERN ITS PABWATO i went there recently.
    Loleni bane mukapapa!!!!!!!

    ICINTU CINTU UMWENE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  163. People of Zambia, 90days is a long time to see development thru the demand management policy of the PF. Once tax is reduced, the price for the commodities are reduced, then the demand for the goods goes up, and it is this demand that steers development becos production has to go up to carter for the increased demand which will result into more job creation and more money in your pockets becos you will be in employment. Evrything revolves around tax.
Viva low taxes. Low PAYE, LOW VAT, low customs & excise, ninshi ifintu nafichipa. Fuel in Zimbabwe with a mad economy is cheaper than in Zambia with a so called stable economy, why???
Becos of our mad tax rates.

  164. #229 i am so afraid coz i am beging to see resistence, the other tribes have now woken up.Gone are the days when bembas used to think that they are superior to the other tribes.Guys what we are doing is dividing zambia.i think this is what pipo are trying to achieve indirectly.lets be careful and look at rwanda & kenya

  165. Hon. Sata and his PF failed to develop Lusaka District especially TOWN CENTRE in 90 days with all PF councillors and MPs in place. In PF and Sata have forgot that they promised us this 90 days thing in 2006 befoe today and it has been 2 years since then with no activity to shocase theyir (PF) promises. How then will they (PF and Sata) develop Zambia in 90 days this time? We have heard those promises before, please PF!

  166. #235 Nine Chale

Anyone who bothers to ask anyone who was an adult at that time in the 70’s will attest to what I have just brought out.

Go to the Zambian archives and read for youirself. What I am saying is that tribalism is bad and this SATA is being supported regardless of his misdeeds. Why Why???????

  167. Following up on #239 which I mistook for #234 on my posting at #240, this “Someone said the 78 votes UPND got came from Tongas in Mpika, if this is the case then the Bembas should be voted for in ereas where they dont originate from. Therefore, it will right to ask the easterners, Southerners,N/Westerners, westerner, central and lusaka rural pipo not to vote sata as he is bisa/bemba since in Kachibiya they have decided to vote for their own man just as RB instructed easterners to so. Shame on Sata and those Bemba tribalists” indicates Bemba Tribal voting in our country which is unfortunately delaying REAL CHANGE and DEVELOPMENT. Please, voters do not vote on Tribalism grounds with emotions.

  168. PF CADRES stop insulting your friends. BAD behavior and language just like your president are u copying from him . PA BWATOO …USELESS–PF

  169. Any sane person Bemba or non Bemba knows in his or her heart that SATA IS SIMPLY NOT THE RIGHT PERSON. Why the support.

Negative evidence is in abundance about this SATA yet yet yet his has bloody support. Why????????????? TRIBALISM

  170. Tribalism in Mpika simply because Sata comes from there is a very bad thing. This Nkanchibiya Presedence is unfortunate and must not be encouraged. Whoever has relatives in nkanchibiya, please tell them those Bisa/Bemba people to vote with their heads after critical reflections of what they want for their future and the children’s future, and not on emotional tribalistic tendencies just because hon Sata is a Bemba-Tribalist.
    Zambia deserves better, fellow Zambians.
Viva HH for Zambian President, Given Lubinda for Zambian Veep and Sata for Prime Minister. It is still not too late for Sata to endorse HH’s being Zambian President and let us encourage him (Sata) so he becomes non-tribal.

  171. #241 Anonymous, I am just as much a “Proud Zambian” as I am a “Proud Bemba”. I’m also simply presenting facts because they speak for themselves. I spent a long time researching on African Ethnology during my studies and this is why very few people can lie to me when it comes to African ethnics.

BREAKING NEWS-Van ladden with presidential papers intercepted
I received a report last evening alleging that a van ladden with ballot papers destined for Kalabo in western province was intercepted at Lusaka international airport.
Muvi television, which broadcasts to Lusaka and sourrounding areas also showed clips of irate elections agents who discovered the ballots.
Some agents hinted they were tipped that some ballots were about to be transported to Kalabo.
The driver was questioned by elections agents but he expressed ignorance about the presence of the ballot papers.
I am told there was confusion at the disused former Zambia Airways hanger where the ele

  173. I am in ZED, why is my zedian flag no flying next to my name? LT, explain. No wonder some chaps are masquerading as living abroad when they are within ZED!

  174. Isnt sata the one who was terrorising innocent zambians opposed third term bid with Easter Nakawala.

What will stop him from going for a third term.

He is a dictator, evident in all the ministries he worked in.

bembas dont be blinded with tribalism, vote wisely

bembas are the worst tribalist in zambia who aretrying to hide behind the tongas

  175. #246 Pretty chic, I understand your fears but I would like to believe that we are quite far from the Kenya/Rwanda scenario. In those counries, the minority tribes opressed the majorities by occupying the high seats in govt. which led to a bloody revolution. In Zambia, this has not been the case. The tribal tensions that arise during elections subsequently subside as soon as power is equally shared. I think it will be the same after October 30th.

  176. this sata is very inconsistent with his policies.he says this today and says something else tomoro. he simply can not be trusted

  177. Sata is right u zambians research before u answer. There are about for spots identified as potential sites for Hydro power stations in luapula province. Two of which are kundabwika [101MW] and kabwelume [34MW]. Ive forgotten capacity for 3rd one mambilima. This power is enough to supply luapula, northern and eastern.

  178. Sata is right do your reserch u zambians

    kundabwika 101MW
    Kabwelume 34 MW
    mambilima ?

Thats enough to supply luapula, northen and eastern. I think even western.

  179. Check ministry of energy

Potential for Luapula Hydro is 950 MW. More than half of what zambia currently has and enough to supply all the mines in Zambia.

  180. Ba Number 14,

HH is a very intelligent gentleman; he fails only when he cannot articulate his vision, which is what everyone wants to hear.

I have argued lately that for some politicians, we can be holding elections every month for 12 months for one year and they would walk away without enough votes to land a position in State House. HH is one such.

When HH is talking, he makes you get angry about people who put him in charge in the first place.

There is no charisma, no political electricity. Unlike some human beings, he’s no humour. One wonders how he got to the top so easily so quickly!

Can you Number 14 stop the blind loyalty. HH does not have a future in Zambian politics

  181. sata simply copied evrything that HH said on race to plot one on ZNBC and Muvi TV.he doesnt understand what he is talking about bcoz he is just copying.why dint Sata talk about Hydro power station before, why talk about it after HH told zambia about his plans for Luapula

  182. A national council meeting opened sometime in 1969/70 november to bring out issues that Bembas had raised following the resignation of Kapwepwe an the subsequent appointment of Mainza Chona.

Bembas i this meeting rose up and brought up ferocious accusation of corruption against a number of ministers. Amongst those accused notably Dingiswayo Banda, then Minister of Transport, Power and Works.

Suspentions of the so accused followed but that was not enough for the Bembas.

  183. Thats true data Optimist i’ve verified, problem is 17 years of MMD hasn’t done anything interms of investing in the energy sector.KK atlest did something in his first 17 years, its actually still there for all to see. What we now need is a leadership that is in a hurry to develop Sata/HH seem to offer something far better the these failures MMD with their corruption, tribalism & rigging.

  184. Does any one know the national income of Zambia. How much does the government earn adn expect to earn in future, from Taxes etc. Can previous budgets give us a guide. We could be talking here about doing things we do not have money for. When we were kids, we believed our parents could buy anything in this world. Even if they prioritized expenditure, the fact is there are some things they could just not afford to buy. Having wishes and plans is one thing, but realising them requires actual money.

  185. DC10 and Optimist, what the source of your data. I want to check it out. I’ve the Energy Ministry website but there is nothing

  188. Dear Lt,
Appreciate your initiative BUT should you leave the door wide open no one will appreciate yr paper. Most comments are a let down to Zanmbians abroad.Edit articles for yr good name. Its not making good name of yourself by hosting insults.People wants sensible comments.

  189. I dont mind having either HH or Sata for President, no that RB who himself is dull and is surrounded by ebena Mulongoti, Teta. When i see Ka Mulongoti on TV i feel like destroying my set. What a joke of a man.

  190. Zambia is landlocked just goes to see the thinking of the federal kapokola. Sempia

Sata Ni Fake, His hert is Ticking at Zero why use a photo of six years ago and not one of today.

Too much seedles smoking with FTJ thats why he could never advise FTJ

  191. At least Sata makes tangible promises than we can hold him accountable for. RB sugar daddy only talks about the levy legacy which when you hear from their campaigns, they are shredding that to peices. price reduction, fertiliser reduction and fuel, etc which levy never did, so they are saying he was a bad leader and he failed to see all these they are promising now.

    Vote Babwato.

  192. LT please update us. What are all those score of people (cadres) doing outside RB’s house on Los Angeles Boulevard? Is there a press conf or rally?

  193. NANGU MULEFWAYA NANGU TAMULEFWAYA TULIMUBWATAOOOOOO TULE OOBA NAIMWE MWAKA WESU MAMAYO ANABA TATA VOTE PF… PABWATO OOOO

  194. Jealous,Jealous PF guys!!Your own Sata is now copying from what the young boy HH was saying on ZNBC race to plot 1.You win Kanchibiya in northern pro. (in bembaland) and start celebrating.Sata has no serious plans for this country but only has the following.

    1.Dictatorial tendencies….remember the third term debate/Chawama saga
2.Tribalist….speaks bemba wheneva addressing a rallies everywhere.
    2.Promised to deport all chinese…what more tongas/lozi/lenjes???
3.Promised to pardon chiluba—Just because he is from Luapula or Banadya pamozi???

    My vote goes to HH.

  195. Politicians dont cease to amuse me. Whoever tells them that where there is water then its possible to have a hydro power station must come for some consultations from me for free. If that was the case, then we would have had hydro power plants even in our own homes or we could have already constructed one in Garden compound on those sewer ponds. Please, the technicallities are complex one of which is that you need to have the so called “EFFECTIVE HEAD” to drive your turbines. SATA, HH and RB, stop jokes OK. Am annoyed with the three of u and it seem non of u is sensible enough.

  196. WELL DONE PF.CHINGOLA WAS NOT YOUR HOME PLACE BUT YOU HAD TO BEAT THEM.THOSE WHO ARE SAYING TRIBALISM PLAYED IN KANCHIBIYA EXPECT A RUDE SHOCK ON 30TH OCTOBER,2008.ZAMBIANS VOTED FOR MMD BECOS OF LPM.MHSRIP.HE WAS HONEST AND TRUE PATRIOT.WE DONT VOTE FOR A PARTY BUT CHARACTER.CHARACTER IS BUILT OVERTIME AND NOT BORN IN WEEKS.

  197. Ubu ndiye bupuba zoona. And just how one can listen to SATA is just beyond me. A secondary school every 10 kilometres? God help us here is the reality say we build the schools along the roads. ( zambian Road network is aprox 25000 KM that means …yes you are right 2500 schools. Avarage Cost of 1 school K6bn. (based on floor sapce cost of K1.2m/sqm per pupil for say 500 pupils or 100 per grade in each school) total…a nerve wrecking 15 trillion whats our annual budget. 2-3 trillion? meaning ok so were gona have to build schools for 5 years without eating, without hospitals without…yes funding for existing schools for 5 years!!Ignorance

  198. Lets give SATA a chance. I dont think he will do a lot of damage in 3 years. If the worst comes to the worst at least we would have tried him out and learnt a few lessons on putting questionable characters in office for the sake of change. People will be more mature during 2011 elections. Right now a lot of people are not thinking straight.

    HH for presdo 2011

    “Mwana ngalilila bonzo mupase”

  199. That makes sense ba Sata. We need to focus on such developmental issues. That is all we’ve been waiting for. May God help this republic in choosing its leader.

  200. cont from 296. and how many schools did he build when he was second vice president? remember mezaf ( a very small project in comparison to 2500 schools) where he deposited public funds into his own account. chengelani he is going to deposit the entire tresury into his stanchart account and we will always have to borrow his ATM card to finance public spending. Be serious guys. this is about your lives and your children’s his has been spent in perpetrating violence and oppressing the voiceless. Make yours worthwile by voting for the future. VIVA HH.

  201. SATA promises to remove cut-off points for pupils to that all can get university education. He says cut-off points are a hinderance to children getting university education.
Are those the promises you call ‘Tangible’?

  202. I get shocked beacuse each time I wake up I still find some people who still listen to SATA’s promisses.
The way SATA plays on people’s minds is like the way of young man who wants to marry a young lady. He promises her that he will buy her the entire earth as her plot and the moon her vegetable garden, and himself will be the garden boy and she believes him.

  203. when can we have a one on one debate for the candidates? Do they still shy away because of fear for young HH’s Eloquence?

  204. #278 ESK

The data i have is hard copy as am in the energy sector. The best i can do is advise u to get the ZESCO diary for 2008 and look at the their map inside. All the information is there on page/pare no. 5

There are 3.9 million voters on the current roll. But Northern Province – with a total 464, 910 voters – will determine the winner between acting President Rupiah Bwezani Banda and oppo

  206. The sweet sounding promises of SATA can only dupe his own. The star nakedness of his fake promises is not even to be examined further. The guy is capable of anything to just get to Plot one.

  207. He has already within two weeks talked about huge impossible tasks all from the little GRZ/Tax payers resources: The Oil pipeline from Angola and now a Hydro electric Power station in his heart land.

  208. Zedian people, do you mean their will be no change in our country?, anyone who speaks of hardwork is aliar.Thats why we are going through this error of prolonged loadshedding b’coz of you thick headed people.Zambia shall never improve still under developed country, shame.

  209. OK let’s go for 400 posts. You doubters like #313 are incredible – just scared whenever Sata opens his mouth. Does it mention anywhere in the article any “promise to build a hydro power station”? If so please show me where, I can’t see it…

  210. #310

A combined opposition could perhaps have managed to remove MMD. Not a split opposition. Worse still PF is sharing/splitting its own votes.

This is so easy to see. MMD is winning these elections.

  211. # 268. You agree with us that HH is intelligent, a lot of us have understood what he says and he speaks inEnglish by the way. Should we explain to you what he says?

  212. Anonymous last time I checked, you possesed a serious natural hatred of the incoming President Michael Chilufya Sata. Its normal for people like you to exist, atleast you help up in balancing the system. Your voice will be vital in keeping Sata in check for the promises he is currently making but for now lets face it, The old man is headed for Plot 1.

  213. #313

Actually angola offered to construct the pipeline so its very feasible. The question u should ask is why did the zambian govnmnt refuse? And why is fuel expensive in zambia? Read between the line when magande is talking

  214. #315

Check the first sentence, did you jump it or is is that the idea is just impossible to imagine.

Dont try to behave like your SATA. Be honest.

  215. #320 the first sentence says “Patriotic Front Presidential candidate Michael Sata has said that Luapula Province was endowed with enough water resource to generate sufficient hydropower to mitigate the power shortage that Zambia was faced with.” That is a plain statement of fact, not a promise to build anything…

  216. I have once helped rebuild a few power plants in ZED. most of the contracts wihich are still ongoing and causing load shedding were agreed 10 to fifteen years ago. Its only the chinese who have expeditously signed financing agreements for the power sector in Zed. The others have been quite bureacratic. And seeing cobra’s distaste for the chinese maybe we can only obtain funding from Zimbabwe our closest ally in the region (according to Sata) because truth be told gentlemen the west will not pal with a pro Mugabe Regime. so brace for hardtimes.

  217. Anonymous??? On the issue of tribal inclination, I mean this should have been settled by now but like they say once you develop inferiority you automatically become insecure. This has been exhibited by most bloggers who are blowing horns about Bemba supremacy. Lets face it gents, Bemba remains not only the largest ethnic group in the country but the most widely spoken language in the country. Us proud Bemba’s don’t go about pronouncing our supremacy, we have always been accommodative, supportive and inclusive. Our chief remains mature and out of cheap politics. He is not Mwata, or whoever he is CHITIMUKULU!

  218. #318 M Mwine

‘The threatening Mwine’. Dont try to halucinate yourself. Just face the facts. Look SATA lost in 2006, what has happened between 2006 and now to make SATA more popular?

Infact, SATA has lost ground. He does not have a strong team as he is currently fighting his own MP’s. This is very clear. Stop cranking up a false feeling. This GUY SATA has really mesmerised you. Thumbs up to him for that!

  219. Sata will never ever see the gates of state house because of people like me who will never ever give him my one very vital vote because of his crooked, thuggery past.
Remember, KK warned us in 2001 not to vote for FTJ and the rest of his thieve friends and we did the opposite. Where did we go from there? Now the same KK is telling us not to vote for Sata and what has our experience taught us? Vote Sata to spoil the nation.

    Viva HH!!!

  220. #319. Optimist,
If Angola already offered to do the pipeline, then why is SATA trying to opportunitize the deal as if he is making a new idea.
    He sounds opportunistic to me.

  221. Bembas are not the only tribe that are gifted to be presidents….whether we like it or not Sata will never be the next president…the sooner we get used, the better!!!!!USA will always keep on developing coz the people out there understand the system unlike here in Zambia..SHAME!!!!

  222. The Youngman, Hichilema or HH, will be in the race for the second time. Whatever his strategy, he probably needed to let go of this one, and possibly enter into some alliance with either MMD or PF. His chances of winning are slim and even he must be aware of it. “We want to announce our presence for 2011,” remarked one of his campaign team members. The much-talked about possible electoral pact with the PF fizzled out the moment election day was named! Each of the two would-collaborators went their separate ways!

Reports have it that UPND insiders warned the Youngman that Sata or King Cobra would swallow him alive! He quickly placed Billboards, with his portrait around town before negoti

What is all that detail about how nice Bembas and Chitimukulu is about. If you are refering to my earlier contribution about Politics in the 70’s, just check your history or ask your Parents about the trufulness of my statements.

The Bemba wanted to push themselves above everyone else and Kaunda managed to tame the storm that was brewing. The fact that SATA is clearly pro BEMBA is a concern and people must be educated about this tendencies in todays Politics.

  225. #327 Anonymous – Sata has never lost ground if anything he is more popular than he was 2 years ago. This man you call iliterate has stood up for the ordinary Zambians when the literate elite men of this country having been lavishing selfishly. Secondly, you will notice that Sata has ignored those MP’s you claim he seems to be fighting. He is not interested in job seekers but servants of this nation who will selflessly serve the people of Zambia. Give me a list of those same MP’s and I will explain to you who they really are. Don’t tell me you started following politics just yesterday. To start with they never won those seats because of their names they had a tag…PF

  226. 331

If it was u in Sata’s shoes, would u not tell the people you will go ahead with the pipeline??? Think about it dude!

  227. Quite a good number of guys here who take things personal ai? Face the truth men! Talk Real politics. Talk with your heads! Zambia need realism, not dreamism!

  228. #329

Defeated about what? I am simply painting a picture which I believe is cardinal for Zambians to be informed about. Nothing about fearing anything.

  229. Below are the Statistics on the Voter Register per Province

  230. There are 3.9 million voters on the current roll. But Northern Province – with a total 464, 910 voters – will determine the winner between acting President Rupiah Bwezani Banda and opposition leader Michael Chilufya Sata. If the province is split, which is more likely, and then the Banda Bandwagon will roll into State House with few hitches. Banda has Eastern Province which has 498,649 voters while Sata is likely to take Copperbelt and Lusaka Provinces which have 625,505 and 592,511 voters, respectively. But Banda may not be far behind anyone in Lusaka, Copperbelt and Southern Provinces (503,221), which may help tilt the equation when the overall count is done. Western (316,102) and Nort

  231. Chengelo alumini # 47 and others critisizing MCS.Has Mr Sata told you that he will not tour the other provinces? He will definately touch most of the areas you aer mentioning. You say HHis touring all the places.Yes,he can go all places and you think it makes to run around the country and only manage 60 votes in Kanchibaya. As student preparing cambridge exams i had to select particular section of the Maths paper to concentrate on.When the results came i was the best student in maths.Im sure this is the stratergy Mike is trying to employ.HH is a student of business. He should concentrate on KRAS,otherwise this whole campain is an exercise in fitility.A total waste of time.Come on guys cant

  232. nd Northwestern (244,599) provinces may go Banda way but Luapula province (312,593) could go Sata. However, Sata’s inadequacy lies in the fact that his popularity does not transcend Lusaka, Copperbelt and parts of Northern and Luapula Provinces. The Youngman Hakainde Hichilema will surely capture his traditional Southern and some parts of Central (381, 93) provinces. Central province could go to either Banda or Hichilema but the contest will be close between the two. Sata may not feature in this equation, thereby weakening his overall result.

  233. When are the would-be first ladies addressing the National on National Television and/or Radio?
We need to know how many first ladies will be in State House under each of the Presidential Candidates for October 30th 2008 elections.
Meanwhile, we have been waiting for Sata’s CV, LT, for a long time now. Please, give us Brig. Gene. Miyanda’s CV too when you post Sata’s.
Sata is 1st Generation UNIP as well as RBB. Sata is 1st generation MMD under Chilube while RBB is 2nd generation MMD under late LPM. Only HH has not been a political dancer to where it is happening at a particular one time. Vote the UPND’s HH for Integrity and mature leadership. Vote for HH for economic independence.

  234. #336

That is the great debate in this election ‘ Did the Dissident PF MP’s get elected because of SATA or because of PF.

Even from your statement, I can see that you acknowledge the problem there. The fact is that to get their seats MP’s invest a lot of their time and energy and resources to campaign. These add considerably to how the results will be in any constituency.

The Dissident PF’s are not only agaisnt SATA but are actaully positively campaigning for MMD. So stop your dreaming.

  235. typical of zambians, we good monday coaches….but i want to sat surely you mean it has take all the county centuries to discover the potential of luapula, when we had key government people form there..help us God.
no Noah has seen the water of luapula and wants to say he has a saviing masage for us…. the true noah, worked by faith and all I see SATA doing is moving by sight.

  236. #337. Optimist,
Why tell the people what others are already working out?
So that I can claim the score, and get the vote?
I do not like to be opportunistic; I would rather talk about what others cant do.
The only new thing I heard from SATA is that he will remove cut-off points in schools so that all children have the opportunity to get into University. He says cut-off points are a hinderance to children getting university education. Now, with such creativity nowonder he has to jump on other people’s ideas because removing cut-off points is like you dont understand the meaning of education. He feels going to university is like going to visit relatives in the village.

  237. #343
You have the stats but your analysis is flawed. Do suppose that Sata will get al of CB and Lusaka. ANy one on the ground in Lusaka and Copperbelt knows that no one will get a land slide in those provinces.

Even Eastern and is not 100% bwezani!

  238. Ba Mwine

You say ‘Secondly, you will notice that Sata has ignored those MP’s you claim he seems to be fighting.’

Just refer to other topics and you will see that you are infact not telling the truth. Come back to reality.

  239. #354 All we have heard about the differences Sata has had with his MP’s has come from the affected MP’s. He’s too smart to wash dirty linen in public. What those MP’s having been seeking is sympathy from the public which they have managed to earn from people like you. Actually I think I like you synonymous because you are quiet factual in your statements only that you seem to be missing the bigger picture.

  240. 346
am in lusaka and careless about that flag. I care more about zambia. You should know by now these flags beside the name don’t actually show someones real location

Let the results show. The fact is that you must admit the usefulness of the MP’s to the party strength.

It is just impossible for SATA to pull up resources to cover all districts. The easiest thing is for the MP’s to campaign fro him in thier individual constituencies. See man! This time around, he is not enjoying that privelege and the results will tell. Not wishful thinking.

  242. Fine, you are right Sata has NEVER go to University and so he does not understand anything abt education. How will he be speaking in front of whites when he goes for important meetings abroad. I am shamed that he comes from my country. The guy is dull. they are busy calling each other names and HH is busy telling us good and interesting points on how he will develop this country. but those two old men are calling each other “Nyamasoya and redeyed cobra” what is wrong with these old men.

  243. The Battle between Dissident PF MP’s and SATA will prove to costly to SATA. The this partly explains time that SATA has spent in the two Provinces.

  244. Am told ZNBC is only showing Rupiah Banda on our ZNBC TV at the expense of zambian viewers who pay TV lincence, this is the reason why i stopped watching ZNBC some 5 years ago, because of the same crap and am now forced to have free to air, DSTV, and since am a soccer fan i have also purchased GTV, and i have no time for ZNBC,although they deduct the K3.000.00 from my zesco Bill, i don’t give a sh***t.ZNBC is 4 zambians and not MMD.Spare us the from this nonsense please.come on ZNBC staff don’t sink so low.

  245. Anonymous even if we called for fresh By-elections MP’s on PF tickets would still win. Have you forgotten the Nchanga scene???

  246. I have a first degree and believe its important as a minimum qualification but where does it say u need to go to university to be a president??? Thats discrimination.

  247. A few months ago, Luapula province was being extensively advertised as an attractive investment destination for all sorts of business opportunities. Didn’t PF see that? So this is not a new idea but a continuation of something that has already been started by the CURRENT GOVT. Next…

  248. SAta has tantarums like Bush. See where America is today.Bush was hailed as a man of action but now America is crying.Zambiaatch out.

  249. # 357. Like i said earlier i have no intention whatsoever to offend you. i will obviosly google it. Just thought it would be easier getting it from the blog but obviously i was wrong. Have a nice day mate and sorry if i in anyway offended you. its just that we take a lot of things for granted am sure you would be suprised by how many other people on this blog do not actually know where that belongs.

  250. #351 Ba Anonymous the gist of it is that there’s potential for hydropower. Which is a statement of fact anyway… the Luapula River has a lot of flow, there could be a bigger generation than Kafue Gorge

  251. #369

In other words, that statement stands on its own. Good interpretation I must admit Iam too dull to have jumped to conclusions. Thanks.

  252. #363. xyz,big man,
I wonder whether people understand the K3,000 they pay for TV.
I see that many think it is ZNBC fee, No it is not ZNBC fee.
That fee is called TV license; meaning if you own a TV in Zambia you have to pay that license. It does not matter whether you watch ZNBC or Muvi or Mtv or Mnet or you have a satelite dish subscribing to other channels outside zambia and you never ever gona watch ZNBC, you have to pay TV license for owning a TV.
I hope this will educate some people.

  253. #365 You clearly have never heard Sata being interviewed, thats why you are questioning the validity of the statement on the value of an educated president.
They are many complicated issues on a global scale that a president will need to analyse and understand otherwise he will be endorsing issues based on heresay. And knowing how stubborn some people are …Don’t we want to develop in the right direction? This is no longer about a struggle for independence where anyone who can throw a stone can become president.

  254. I’m surprised LT didn’t cover this. Our own athlete Rachael Nachula has just won gold and set a Commonwealth Games record in India. I also discovered that there is no single website with full info on her and there is only on photo of her on the Internet.

So I decided to blog on her and you can read about her achievements and history at shalalaoliversepiso . blogspot . com .

  255. water alone is not enough. At kariba, the reservoir height from the turbines (head) is over 100m, now in Luapula, where can we gwt such kinds of head, check the designs of such instalations and u’ll appreciate what I’m saying. maybe, on the small waterfalls in luapula, that will mean diverting the water and the tourism people are talking about won’t be there. Maybe other forms of energy, like thermal, using the water and some coal from maamba. Anyway, I’m just thinking aloud

  256. In the US election campaigns, McCain is saying that he will continue with G.W. Bush vision. Americans have rejected him. They want originality. Obama is talking issues and lads have approved him overwhelmingly. Similarly, RB has been talking of Levy’s vision but totally contradicting what Levy stood for. And Zambians have REJECTED him ’cause his is visionless himself and hence not fit for proud Zambia. Sata is talking issues and the voters are strongly in agreement. Therefore, it’s clear that on 30th Oct 2008, its Sata for Zambia and Obama for US on 5th Nov 2008. HH does not know how to position himself. The same Tongas have misled him. Viva Pa BWATTTTOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  257. todays post newspaper front page picture shows nyama soyas image-building team geting off a GTZ vehile for mbala HOSPITAL. IS IT IN ORDER? can someone pliz give men info on wat the law says on GTZ RESOURSE use for party campaign. was that vehicle not needed most at the hospital or the community? TWAFWENI

  258. The credit crunch is bringing the price of copper down. How will Satan deal with that? 90 days – what a joke!90 minutes is too much ,for that man to be Zambia’s pres. As people have already said, he should not spend time preaching to the already deluded, he should be trying to convince people in other provinces what he is made of. After all being president is about facing difficult decisions and convincing the people to support you. Dont turn Zambia into the next Zimbabwe otherwise it will be our people who will be going to other countries, where they are treated like filth in order to sell tuma switi.

  259. #381 Mwine M – anyone leaving out their name can be “Anonymous”. Inlcuidng yourself. So mention the number of the post whenever you reply to an anonymous someone to avoid ambiguity.

  260. All Sata needs is to be given the chance, he will deliver guys
    PABWATOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  261. If SATA was an engineer I would believe him about the pipe dreams of the water in luapula being used to generate power. He probably had too much weed.

    Brace yourself for the worst.

P.S Nyama Soya wants to reduce cell phone peak tariffs to K5 per second across all networks !

    I am loving this madness…

Levy, where did you get this Zombie from?

  262. Rb is very irresponsible, he is using GRZ resources with impunity, its as if its the end of the world. Its up to us as voters and as tax payers to show him that we have the last say and we can only do that by kicking Mmd out and voting in the opposition

  263. For those with access, read Zambian Moments in the Post Today detailing Sata’s time in office from around 1992

  264. If pipo think that RB will take northwesten and central are cheating themselves as HH will emerge victorius including the western province. This makes the battle bt Sata and HH.

However, overall HH is likely to carry the day. For instance, Mumbwa district will most likely give HH over 80% so is chibombo district.

Check you stati. VIVA HH and UPND.

  265. WHAT ARE YOU COWARDS LIVING IN THE DIASPORA SAYING. YOU HAVE FAILED TO STAY IN ZED AND CANT TELL US NOTHING. VIVA ZED RESIDENTS AND ABASH SATA

  266. #336. i agree with you 100%….. all the way and i will vote for Sata. The dissident MPs themselves are not even talking apart from Faustina Sinyangwe (Job seeker) who stands no chance even if she had to recontest her Matero sit. the others value their MPship under PF because whether independent or MMD o UPND they stand no chance. Mulabile shani CHUMUMBWA ku Chingola.

  267. Please someone to advise me, is Sata using polish on his face???
He looks like he does,no wonder he’s been dreaming for plot one so that he can use jaribu from DRC.

  268. its amazing how people want a dictator to rule them HH is the best canditate for this election he has a sense of belonging and wants to take this country forward if you had a chance to listen to him at the newsmakers forum, the man has really got a vision. HH Obama for Zambia

  269. When Pilate asked the crowd whom they wanted between Jesus and Barabbas they shoulted "BARABBAS", "BARABBAS"! The people want SATA and SATA they will get...

We should be responsible when we make decisions.Sometimes the consequences are harsh. I have washed my hands, let the people have SATA.Meantime what should we do with HH?" Crucify HH!", "Crucify him!" they shoulted.

  270. Mazoka 6ft,Nkumbula 6ft,HH...one foot in the grave, never a tonga we shall take them out let them rule cows even shag them for all we care Mazoka 6ft,Nkumbula 6ft,HH...one foot in the grave, never a tonga we shall take them out let them rule cows even shag them for all we care

#347 Maestro Hhehhe you know the tonga party has no chance so you want CVs and to parade 1st ladies. You want your HH to try again in 2011 as the most experinced loser.look at the UK and the USA no party can ever allow a candidate to lose them an election twice.Come 2011 we shall have prof Clive Chirwa in state house. So stop yoour tribal ranting and put up you were born to be ruled the whole alot of YOU get used to it.when you embrace one zambia one nation we can allow your kind.for now its
HON RB OR HON SATA no chance for tonga party mwana

  271. help me imwe …nyama soya’s plan to open a ministry of sex and love affairs. he claims its necessary for his cabinet. he has no intentions of firing Saks. his needed.TWAFWENI

  273. #415 you dont deserve to be alive stop being a racist to fellow country men this tribalism is the reason why you have not even developed yourself you think like a kaponya. Vote for a canditate will help you improve your livelyhood and not that rubbish you are talking about Grow up!

  274. Luapula province needs a lot of boats with all that water.

  275. #415, you need to go the Chainama for a bmental check up I think. Who is on record of losing Presidential elections twice among the leading contenders in this 2008 elections? Is it Sata or HH? The answer does not need you to go for a brain surgery for it is a resounding “SATA the loser of 2001 and 2006 Presidential elections. Unfortuantely, this time Sata is becoming a Political-Exclude and PF will follow him too in this category come 2008 November 4th.

  276. #419, thanks for showing this character what he is! Zambia deserves better than this Bemba-Tribalism, Bemba-Racism and Bemba-Xenophobia. Zambia is for all Zambians. I feel pity for you,”415. Mazoka 6ft,Nkumbula 6ft,HH…one foot in the grave, never a tonga we shall take them out let them rule cows even shag them for all we care”.

Meantime, it is HH, the Incoming President to-be, come October 30, 2008. Wina azalila wina azaseka.
