Deported Lundazi Catholic Parish Priest Fr Viateur Banyangandora yesterday returned to Zambia after staying four months in his native country Rwanda.
Zambian Immigration Department deported Fr Banyangandora for allegedly inciting the community to rise against the Zambian Government.
In August last year, Home Affairs Minister Edgar Lungu confirmed the deportation Fr Banyangandora who was deported after the sermon he gave in church Sunday in which was perceived to be inciting people to rise against the Government.
Fr Banyangandora 40, who was a holder of Employment Permit No 008955, issued on November 27, 2006 when he entered the country was found to be a danger to the country’s peace and order.
The Catholic Priest is back to serve the Zambian people after his deportation order to Rwanda was revoked by the Zambian Government.
Chipata Catholic Diocese Bishop George Lungu who was at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport confirmed the arrival of Fr Banyangandora.
Bishop Lungu said the priest arrived at the airport at 12:00 hours from Rwanda.
“Let me confirm that my son in the name of Fr Banyangandora is with me right up now and I will not give him platform to speak until at an appropriate time to be given to him, “he said.
Bishop Lungu said he was happy to see Fr Banyangandora back in Chipata Diocese after reversing the deportation order.
Fr Banyangandora joined the Association of Zambian Diocesan Catholic Clergy (ADZACC) as a Catholic seminarian refugee.
He studied at Mpima Major Seminary in Kabwe before proceeding to St Mary’s Major Seminary in Lusaka for his theological studies. He was ordained Catholic Priest serving in Chipata Diocese in 2004.
strictly God messages this time welcome to zambia am sure you have seen the difference betwaeen zambia and rwanda
Why is he so focused on Zambia only ??
if he is man of God, he shall speak that which is good and if he sees he shall also speak against it.
He should sue for, ‘wrongful detention and deportation’.
Welcome back father.
This guy has no home or what? A slap on Edgar Lungu
ba lungu shame.THE BATTLE IS THE LORDS.Tell sata the dieing president to leave nevers alone.let sata ask nevers to pray for him as pharaoh asked mose to pray for him before allowing the Israelists to leave and later died.
Mr man mumba is now a pastor in politics, not in the word of God.
A listening govt thats what we like. That deportation was done in error. Due process was not followed so a wrong has been righted.
Tell you stu.pid government to invest resources in Thinking!
Try and error justice, try and error governing, try and error creation of districts.tried and errored in everythng, dnt try a bomb next time.i am sitting at the edge of my seat waiting for the climax of this puppet show.
He entered the country 2006 but was ordened in chipata in 2004 please clarify. He should understand why he is here, govt please monitor his every move and speech. He looks above 40 to me may be its due to hardships…
Well come back father. Now the date for the Chipata Central bye election will be announced.Tell the trueth and the trueth shall set you free.
We are not suprised with this goverment were there is no rule of law.
it is either you are with PF or aganist them.
People will see, taste and know the true colours of PF.
Welcome back Fr, but behave this time around no more reversals of deportations, don’t talk politics just concentrate on the word of God and please no adultery / fornication
Jesus was a political activist that fought for the well-being of people. Religion is but politics laced with a god-head as supreme in partnership with the ruling elite. If you will, that ruling elite is supposedly blessed to rule over the proletariat.
Now go figure what Fr Banyangandora and Lungu are baking in the catholic oven.
Good contribution. That includes lumpen proletariats and riffrafs like the deporter.
“My son has come back home and is with me” words of a loving father from Bishop
Shallow thinking ministers and cadres have began to say PF is a listening govt, hence the return of Fr. Banyangandora. This has been typical of PF govt, errors of judgement has been crafted as legacy of dictator Sata’s govt. This is a sham face saver after eating a ‘humble pie’. This shameful incopetent and devoid act creates a dent on Zambia known world over as an intolerant and vindictive regime in Zambia today. We await more lies over to cover new lies of deceit to the nation on the return of Fr. Banyangandora.
LT, there is no “st. mary’s major seminary” in Lusaka. Fr. Banyangandora studied at “st. Dominic’s Major Seminary”. We deserve to be fed with the right info.
welcome back Father. Kindly continue to spread the word of God to all the people. Don’t be afrid. Jesus went through all kinds of worse things. We are with you in prayers. May the almighty God protect you always. We love you the Catholics in Zambia
Maybe he is one of the serial killers. Why not Rwanda kanshi? Did he leave a wife here?
SO WHEN HE CAME TO ZAMBIA HE WAS NOT A PRIEST BUT FOUND IT NECESSARY TO GO TO MPIMA AND MASQUERADE AS PRIEST? WHAT IS SO SPECIAL ABOUT THIS PRIEST ANYWAY? WE HAVE ENOUGH PRIESTS IN ZAMBIA. THIS STIME AROUND, HE SHOULD CONCENTRATE ON PREACHING AND NOT INVOLVE HIMSELF IN THE POLITICS OF ZAMBIA. IF HE WANTS TO BECOME A POLITICIAN, LET HIM TALK ABOUT RWANDESE POLITICS. MAY I ASK? IS BISHOP LUNGU A BROTHER TO EDGAR?
He must behave this time around or else……….back to KIGALI
Iyoo guys mulaponta, if tables were turned, you start crying foul ati in europeans or americans are racisits, aint you doing the same? Change plizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

SHiiiiiiiit happens for a reason, find out why
Could someone please do a research and find in Lusaka “St. Mary’s Major Seminary”, I will surely give him/her the best reward ever.
What a dunderhead you are ¥23. ¥16 corrected it long time ago.
Bamudala ba Banyangandora Kodi mukaziba ka Lungu? Kulupililani simungaka trasite ai. Kazaukila ku left side nomitamanginsanso! If I were u I would have stayed in kigali where iam assured of my freedom-sic
Monitoring is best done when you have a couple of data to compare. A lot of blood pressure monitors have huge memory banks storing about 80 or more readings. If you’re going to buy a blood pressure monitor that’s so hard to use then might as well stick with sphygmomanometer and stethoscope.
