Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services Kennedy Sakeni has urged Zambians to use internet constructively and avoid abusing the online facilities.

He called for constructive use of internet and avoid abusing such facilities.

“I would encourage internet freedom but that freedom should not be abused to insult others. Let’s have constructive online interactions and not insults, give your point of view and not insults, ” he said

“Insulting the Head of State every day is wrong even if you didn’t vote for him because majority Zambians voted for him. Who would like his father every day insulted online?” he asked.

Mr Sakeni said most bloggers who were insulting others and daring the Government were young people between the ages of 25 and 45.

And Kennedy Sakeni said government was working hard towards equipping the public media in Livingstone ahead of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) General Assembly in August this year.

Mr. Sakeni said government was committed to providing basic tools to the public media so that they could effectively cover the UNWTO general assembly.

He commended the media for the important role they have continued to play towards Zambia’s successful co-hosting of the UNWTO general assembly by highlighting the country’s tourist attractions and the preparations it is making.

”It is pleasing to note that the media in the country have remained reliable allies from the time Zambia won the bid to co-host the UNWTO General Assembly to date. Hardly a day passes without reading or hearing something to do with the UNWTO in the media,” he said.\

[pullquote]“Insulting the Head of State every day is wrong even if you didn’t vote for him because majority Zambians voted for him. Who would like his father every day insulted online?” he asked.[/pullquote]

The minister was speaking in Livingstone yesterday during an interactive press briefing with Livingstone based Journalists at Protea hotel.

He however urged the media to intensify their efforts in publicizing the event and educating the public about it.

He said the event will leave a lasting impact and impression on the country’s tourism and economic fortunes.

Mr. Sakeni said so far preparations in terms of logistics, conferencing and hospitality, point to a resoundingly successful UNWTO General Assembly.

The Minister has since called on the people of Livingstone to be exemplary in their reception and hospitality towards the visitors who will come to Livingstone to sample some of the world’s best tourist attractions.

And Mr. Sakeni has said the issue of the partial restructuring of the Ministry of Information and Zambia News and Information Services (ZANIS) headquarters was unacceptable adding that government was doing everything possible to ensure that the issue was addressed.

On the sit in protest by the Zambia Daily Mail workers two days ago but who have since resumed work, Mr. Sakeni said the problem lay in lack of recapitalisation.

He observed that all the public media that include the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC), Times of Zambia and Zambia Daily Mail need recapitalisation.

He added that the vision of the Patriotic Front (PF) government was to recapitalise the three public media institutions.

”As for now, we need to live and manage ourselves. There are boards running these institutions except for one whose committee is being reconstituted. We will first leave it to the boards but the most important thing is to recapitalise before we think of anything else,” he said.

  1. I have not been well since Friday, I have a running stomach. I have thrown up twice and black tar looking things are coming out, have lost appetitive and I am not at work today.
I feel weak and my palms look yellowish, why?
Anything I eat I feel like throwing up.
Anyone knows what this might be, hope it is not the horsemeat scandal, anyone?

I have just peeped to LT and I would like to thank anyone wishing me a quick recovery
Thanks LT readers and thanks LT for the email

    Thanks

Oh, sorry for your health and I amost ignored you like I always do. Maybe you are carrying a coloured foetus. That coloured zygote developing in your womb is for you to worry about and that person who injected it.
How are going to deliver/expel it from your uterus? Through the natural process or caesarian section. Your must prepare yourself to push very hard.
Take 5 buckets for your puke and 3 bundles toilet papers for your sweat and tears.
I will send you presents such as diapers and baby lotions.
South Africans are among the leading manufacturers of baby car seats and baby coats. Tell me where and when, then the above items will be shipped to your location.
You know what, you could have been carrying my baby.
Money is not an issue and will never be an issue, never.

    • Horse meat will not make you sick, you’ve eaten it ever since you arrived there. Actually people in Europe should worry more about the bigger problem of how many dogs they’ve eaten rather than horses? Here in Africa we eat what we know. Just tell us what your Nick has done to you… And what’s more is that he’s slowly walking away as you continue to “soil” your andies – needing more Ian’s more napkins…

    • Fellow bloggers, I know that, Mushota, most of the times has been very controversial but in times like this, let’s spare a thought for her. Just saying.

    • If you were woman I would have said you are pregnant, but since you are a man, the running stomach is sign of sphincter muscles are worn out! Have yourself checked by a doctor!

    • It’s called freedom of expression tolerance of other people’s views.

Should we all be singing praise for the great leader Sata? I don’t think so

      Zambians are not North Koreans

  2. This message is well suited for Editers and bloggers are Zambia watchdog.I have never seen a site full of immaturity and hate like that one.

  3. This message is well suited for Editors and bloggers at Zambia watchd.og.I have never seen a site full of immaturity and hate like that one.

    • and they even talk about morals, anyone with a different view is blocked, its like all the bloggers there are kids the way they blog.

    • That is totally untrue. It is not just the ZWD that accommodates insults and the problems starts with the culture spearheaded by the Head of State himself. Insults should not be encouraged but when the head of state is known to insult, what stops the followers from doing the same. As for Sakeni, it is not only those that didn’t vote for Sata that insult him, it is those that are frustrated with his leadership style and see on good/statesmanship in him. He has promoted a “Kabova” type of leadership and what else would you expect from that?

    • Anyone with a contrary view at ZWD is blocked. Its either you praise HH or you are blocked.Try to praise PF on that site and then you’re gone.

    • @kings ZWD posted some article saying why certain comments dont appear. Contrary comment do appear e.g if you posted the same comment(negative about ZWD) you have posted here it can and will appear and replies would be ” like this one (referring to your comment)”

    • Sakeni, how about this? I give you all my middle fingers and tores. Please take them and they are similar to a perpendicular position.

  4. Mushota no one cares how you feel, what has your feeling got to do with the article above you make me sick and cant stand people like you

  5. THE FATHER TO WHO?MAY TO BA SAKENI.THE NAN HAS DIVIDED THIS MORE ANY OF ANY PRESIDENTS BEFORE HIM,CHECK THE TRIBE OF THE PIPO APPOINTED TO RUN PARASTATAL INSTITUTIONS ,NOT TO MENTION NUMEROUS RELATIVES HE HAS APPOINTED TO RUN DIPLOMATIC MISSIONS,HE IS YOUR FATHER NOT OURS!!!!!!!

  6. Chipuba ichi..sata ddnt get 50% of the votes and u are saying the majority? sata is a comedian and not to be taken serious.

    • The definition of majority is the “greater number” It does not necessarily mean over 50%. You can not deny that Sata got the greater number of voters until the definition is enshrined in the constitution to mean over 50%.

    • Gumugumu,

Listen to what RTD Engineer is saying. I think you are the kind of nitwits that Sakeni is talking about. Not that I agree with him, but if you can’t figure out that the person who won the election in Zambia got the majority vote, some circuit is broken somewhere.

    • Senior Engineer RTD – It’s a good thing you retired. Majority means over 50% and nobody who stood in the last presidential elections got that.

  7. You ka old man you live The Post have nude pics everyday you don’t say anything scared of Mmembe PF failures shame on you with Sata .

  8. Insulting language must be discouraged and avoided at all times. It should never be part and parcel of debating issues even when people have diverse views.
It is unfortunate that sometimes people loose their cool and resort to the use of strong language because of falsehoods and insincerity by leaders like Mr Sakeni in their actions and public statements they issue. The leadership is primarily to blame.

  9. I Think that message should be directed at publishers, they should be the ones with filters on there sites to ensure it blocks comments that seem not fit. They are moderators on sites for a reason others are just proper negative publishers and attracts reader of the same

It is a bit shallow for a minister to start drawing attention to bloggers insults or no insults. If they offend you so much don’t go to there sites you can not regulate insults

  10. Alright, PF people I see that your are frustrated now and the head can hardly sleep and eat well. The reality which he sees on internet gives him sleepless nights (insomia) and, he has now turned to internet users who are busy minding their own business of wondering where Zambia is heading, and the pros and cons of having people like you commandeering this sinking titanic.
Many internet users are not public office bearers nor do they hold any positions in the opposition. Further, many of them are not vying for anything with you or your colleagues.
Sakeni, you want to barnish those internet users who do not conform to your trend to the stone age era where internet is obsolete.
Do a reality check and tell me if the discourses on internet should be conducted on the basis of prescriptions.

    • @Boom and Whatever, you are lying, you don’t mind your business, the likes of you have sleepless nights knowing that MCS is at plot one. Some of you are recruited to insult. No amount of insults will remove the president from State house. I cannot see HH or Nevers occupying that House in th next ten years. Maybe in 2041 i.e. if they will still be alive.

  11. Does he realize that people only do that coz of lack of performance by the government, abuse of power. You have frustrated people with you action & way of doing things. To vent their anger they result to insults(though this wont solve anything).

Sakani if you make a good road, give people jobs i don’t thing anyone will insult you. May suggestion stop those insults by performance not what you are doing, you think people who insult you can listen to what you are saying?? If anything you will get more insults. common sense
Anyway your job is to talk so keep talking

    • I think insults will end if Sata can cage Kabimba, free the ACC and ZP, leave the opposition alone, outline and articulate a clear domestic economic development policy, give specific performance expectations to his posse, make peace with Lubinda, present proof of progress on all projects he inherited from the previous administration and those that he has initiated in the past 16 months, and most importantly, talk about development and development alone.

Sata came into office with a fat account of political capital. He needs to ask himself how he expended it so fast and what has he to show for it? He was almost everyone’s darling, but that lasted no more than 9 months. What happened?

    • Its is not about Kabimba my friend. You started insulting the president immediately he won the elections because most of you thought he could only win if he was in a marriage of convenience with HH. MCS is a seasoned politician who does not need toy boys like Hakainde.

  12. So some low life beings are still insulting..? Anyway somethings will never change,ie HH will never rule and that Sata will win again in 2016. Suck it in haters.

Mushota u are pregnant so back off no more blogging.

    • @15,
To ‘rule’ is the root cause of the problems because ruling is synonymous to a dictatorship, We expect the president to govern or simply to lead democratically. Presently the country is being ruled by decree which is not what the people want.

    • Distant Drums, you have hit on an issue I have had problems with for years. Some of the things that people say make me wonder whether they get the benefit of serious thinking. I don’t want to mess up your shtick but I will say that the president is simply an administrator of national affairs. It should be evident from our past experience that presidents are not smarter than the average person in Kalingalinga. In fact the reason why that common man in Kalingalinga is not president is because there is only seat and several people like him that he knows and perhaps think are more intelligent than the people who have sat in that seat thus far.

That seat is not a preserve of the smart but those who think it is important for them to seat on that chair. Some would turn down an invitation to…

    • people please stop make me fill happy. my dear husband wont last the whole five year term, dont you know that, thats the reason we have started building our retirement home.

    • @Bwalya Chiselema, one does not have to be God to see what is prevailing. Besides, HH does not know God but Satan. Satan does not ordain anyone to be king or president. He only ordains, as you put it maggots like you. Please check the mood in this country, whatever you try to discredit MCS will never work. Just campaign in MCS’s strongholds like Copperbelt, Muchinga, Luapula and Northern.

  13. @BOOM & WHATEVER#13
Above and in the first sentence
It must be written as ‘you’ not ‘your’
The addition of ‘r’ is a minor typing error.

    • Yes the yourths voted for Sata but the majority of them are on the streets and have no access to computers and probably not even IT literate.

    • It is not just youths that voted for the president. It was all ages. The youths only came in numbers into the streets when MCS won the elections. I am sure most of you were and are still shocked that MCS won in 2013. He will win again in 2016.

  14. If Sakeni is accurate about the age he suggests are insulting the president, then that sends a negative message to the PF government.
Remember it’s the same age group that voted PF into government.
If Sakeni is accurate, then the question to ask is “what has happened to these youths.”
Do they cheated on? Lied at?
    Are they frustrated at anything?
I totally agree with him that insults have no place in our culture but he must ask why the turn of events

    • you are right but you are also deliberately ignoring the fact that most of these insulting bloggers are not even in Zambia and did not vote for anyone. this is a fact and you know it.

    • @ MUSOLI MUNTANSHI
You are wrong, such a big army of bloggers can not be outside the country dont be misled by the flag, sometimes i blog from tanzania but my flag appears like am in australia am in zambia but my flag shows something else, so boyi Cs is correct, this is the band of the disgruntled youths who were promised more m8ney in the pockets, they voted rupiah out and now sekeni must read the indicators.finito

    • regardless of where the are, netizens commenting on the goings on in Zambia are for the most part frustrated . The insults are perhaps desperation as well as just plain nonsense from a select few. Rightfully , someone pointed out that there are reasons for the frustration and the insults in a way because some can not articulate certain issues well for whatever reason.
Mr. Sakeni and his cohorts in PF have proven to be unfit for the job for several reasons, one is the utter disregard for the constitution in respect to the corruption cases we’ve read and heard about. Then there’s the haphazard manner in which they run government, following no plan (CNP) or the lack of priority- like building stadia instead of upgrading hospitals, schools. They are not exemplary instead we have dupes.

  15. Why do you waste time snoopin online hostile stuf. Read the post. But then the post has no audience and membe is still in denial state.

  16. Sata killed our postnewspaper. But a more lethal news media has risen. LT . ZwD. Daily Nation causing Public opinion drift from PF

  17. Hon Minister. U yourself & Government have not created a conducive atmosphere for peace. U, GBM and the ‘post’ created ‘the Tonga under oath’ story to marginalize a people. H.E instructed the army to go to western province with guns blazing! Miles indicated how Tongas wd never rule unless they married so many Bemba women. Sylvia Masebo recently said the same thing. And all this time H.E. hasn’t raised a singe voice of rebuke to any of u government ministers. And now u want to regulate ‘respect’ to ‘our father which art in state house?’ Now that’s remarkable!

  18. Is 45 years young??? SECONDLY, Honourable Sakeni, Mr Sata was not voted for by the majority of Zambians. HIs Excellency President Sata was voted for by far less than 50% of the population – over 60% voted for other parties, meaning they didn’t want Mr Sata. Your government is a minority government. However, I will not take away credit from you for advocating for non-insulting comments. I have been guilty of that sometimes myself. What we need from you and your government is also to act responsibly. For instance, there is no point in calling for removal of immunity from Rupiah Banda, when you have GBM and Kabimba and Nchito stealing from Zambians and manipulating your govt with impunity. If you don’t want insults, start acting like someone who doesn’t like insults.

  19. PF is really a backward government. Mr sunken be reminded that this is the E-age. The E.Age has also concided with the era of people and citizen power. In every country today so called leaders are suffering ‘abuse’ from the citizenry. Obama, Zuma, cameron, Singh, Merkel, Jonathan are all been given the same treatment. The difference between these govts and the PF govt is that the other govts are led by mature people who understand that it is futile to be having arguments with faceless people who are venting out emotions about the affairs of their country. So PF government grow up and stop arguing with faceless people. Your pettiness is really annoying!

    • Goncalves, the recruited cadre of insults. You are a jealous person and I am sure by now you are looking like a sick person due to sleepless nights of seeing MCS in state house.

  20. Thats how you gauge public opinion. Before RB was uprooted, Lady Gaga, Senior Citizen , MMD chief bootlicker could tell from the bloging trend..

  21. RB and his wife Thandiwe were ridiculed day in day out by bloggers and how did they respond? Like the wise diplomatic first couple they were. Anyway stop visiting the sites no-one invited you.

  22. My immediate reaction to this article was “LOL!” Is Sakeni for real!? Maybe improve your performance as a government, sir, and people will take you more seriously and show some respect.

As for President Sata being elected by the majority of Zambians, that’s simply not true. ANOTHER LIE being peddled by this government.

    Shameful.

  23. Hahahaha but why don’t you comment Mr. Sakeni and why do u check young people’s statuses? Insults are part of life, expect to be insulted especially that u’re in Govt. But I will never insults my president HEMCS he is simply amazing!!!

  24. LOL! Where is your under 5? How many voted 4 him? With yo rb ,his days are numbered. With insults ,these that insult are just agents of Lucifer .With yo under 5 winning in 2016 u must b sick in yo minds. C/wealth & rb will vote 4 u.

  25. Sekani for that useless statment you actually deserve to be insulted. You think we are kids

Bamudala mulichipuba… i know you and Ukwa will get this message because instead of managing a country you are so dull you spend you time on online news. We are hitting you where it matters most. If you thought you will get away with your lies, you are in for a rough ride. Which majority Zambians voted for you?

  26. Sekani u must go tell itole ilikala mu statehouse ati abantu are very annoyed since you are always reading comments

  27. Sakeni even stopped reading the. post he spends most his on LT and ZWD. reading about about a women caught red handed

  28. You are spot on Minister. I too do not like insults whether directed at a head of state or anybody elder. However, the President has to play a role as well to stop the trend of insults. Mr. Sata should desit from insulting others if he is to avoid being a target of insults. Mr. Sata should stop tribalism and nepotism if he wants to leave State House as a Statesman.

At your level Minister, you should also stop telling us false stories, stop being a messenger of threats. and bd good advisors to MCS. The way you parrot soetimes leaves much to be desired.
You people had the good will of the people but once you got power you decided to rule instead of governing this country. I would like to give you more chance.

  29. Ba sakeni now that I know u peepul here I will be hammering your useless PF GRZ because they lied to us. To be honest mr sakeni it’s your cadres who started insults here and then we also followed suit. Mushota our long term blogger here can bare me witness first it was the patient at state house who coined insults like . Under 5,calculator boy, nyamasoya , kamwendo munjila, cabbage , canda cimbwi . So on this one sakeni I’ve caught you pants down. Now after this honest answer see how your cadres will insult me

  30. Mr Sakeni and your hopeless govt, after failing to CLOSE DOWN independent online publications, you r now calling for corporation, you thought you owned this world when you came in power, ah? Stop behaving as if u r still in opposition and start running the country in a professional way, a fair way for ALL who live in the country. The insults will naturally fall away – Zambians r mature and polite people, they dont just wake and start insulting

  31. Indeed the Minister is right. Most of the comments posted do not display maturity, level headedness, intelligence or professionalism. Lusaka Times I think you better give guidance on the kind of progressive and constructive commentary. It is a pity we have a lot of senseless people posting illogical comments and these are in the majority.

  32. U upnd and cadres u are embaciles .Yo insults will never take u anywhere and u claim to educated ? Mwefipumbu fyantu. falsehood day in day out. U demons .You will never make it .You and yo under 5 can’t sleep as u visualize how another lose wil b

    • Ba sakeni see that’s what am talking about look this f00l above insulting, please term your cadres other wise we will also continue with the language they understand . Please sakeni cage this foool here

    • Excuse the insults above. The man got carried away and decided to insult those who use insulting language. Typical of PF and their supporters!

    • But what is the point of insulting someone. That just shows how bitter you opposition losers have been and still are. You thought MCS would not make it without you. Insults of envy eeh!!

  33. First of this man need to apologise to ME am a civilised person I don’t insult men who are suffering from senility/decrepitude in general. I only say,if you could think with my brain you will see what I see and will be able to be analytic on the matters in Zambia, but this will never happen, that’s why I say it’s a shame what is happening in our country and you old men need treatment but unfortunately you are surrounded by uneducated youngsters, I really don’t blame you, senility is wicked/perfidious so people just think you are mad but me I understand you very well and I suggests you better step down from your office one of the bloggers here is well qualified than you are, for example this attention-seeker MUSHOTA she/he/it has it all(bachelor degree, MASTERS AND A PhD.) thanks

  34. Be warned. Innocent Chimfutumba is a stalker, hacker, charlatan, and a planted mole called Zimbwi. Like a deranged vulture he uses other aliases to prey on people’s character. He is all over the Internet sniffing out stories and writing gibberish about people and issues he hardly understands. Google his name and you’ll see what I mean. I have compiled his texts in both the “LT and ZWD. At times he wears the hat of a skunk, spraying his terrible malodorous smell. He claims to be learned. Read all his comments (How I wish I could display them). He’s a moron who writes in colloquial English—semi-literate style. Learned bloggers write well even in haste. His writing is best described by one blogger: “so many words with no sense.” His punctuation is terrible and typos aplenty.

  35. Sakeni, we will stop calling you names when you start telling us real solutions to the countrys problems. We are just reacting to your insults too. You did not learn from Mulongoti and tentamashimba. Try to ask shikapwasha. You must respect the people and they will respect you back

  36. Oh, I remember an Innocent Chimfutumba from Angola. He used to bed-wet and froth at the mouth. His pee smelled like hell. Each time we did what he thought was wrong, he would run and report us to his mother. A Shaman visited his home frequently to check on his epilepsy. Is that you? If you are, I can smell you pee in all your comments under different aliases. Get off my back you grain-brain spiteful creep! You can’t intimidate me.

  37. Mr. Sakeni, you should have just mentioned that the loggers at ZWD and its editors are the ones that are abusing the internet.

They are living in a parallel universe, where HH is president, baffikkalla!!

  38. If these politicians read our comments am sure they have started to sweat under their fleets because they can see the blogger community is growning AND THEY CAN’T SHUT US DOWN, REVOLUTION ONLINE WILL CALL IT HE HAS SEEN THE SERIOUSNESS OF THE YOUTH JUST WAIT AND SEE.

  39. Mr Sakeni, this is public opinion, stop living in a cacoon, its either you shape up or ship out. The people who put you into office are giving you signs that things are not going right. With technology, you wont be able to stop this tirad of insults unless you change into the right direction. You failed to stop online publications and you think by giving such a speech people will stop? The clock is ticking and very soon it will be 2016, time to beg again. I wonder if sata will kneel down too this time around!

  40. Sakeni is trying to imply to all online Editors to ensure that all comments are put in moderation. Even here in USA many blogs are moderated in order to remove anything postings that are not in line with the topic or considered offensive, use of profanity etc.

Mushota’s comments and few other insults ba LT, you should have moderated.

    • Shut up
Who is insulting here? No one is writting false or dangerous info against the state we are just telling people like you to shut up

  41. Our leaders when they say MMD printed 3 trillion fake kwacha, they expect us to keep quiet, when they say RB and opposition leaders are seeking criminal asyllum in south Africa, no one should give a different message, when Lungu says Mumba is abusing his diplomatic passport, the ZWD should not reveal that Mumba does not hold such a passport, the worst of all when you remind them of their promises……….you are insulting the father of the nation. Please the president is not our father…..he is our servant.

  42. Why are some idiots posting comments which are not linked to the article. Let’s learn to link our comments with articles you riff-ruffs.

  43. This lazy salivating urgly lumpen should be told in no uncertain terms that respect is earned, period. If all Sata does is comics, lies and engendering a stinking tribalistic agenda in Zambia, all he will get here are well earned insults, not accolades. And I challenge this fool to let me know a single sensible thing Sata has done since ascending to power! Tapali nangu chimo, chila bushiku na kasuba lwa kunya amafi!

  44. I do not encouraged insults but one thing for sure those who aspire to hold should be ready to be insulted failure to which they should resign. What comes out of Hon Sakeni’s statement is 1. He spends more time blogging than working and 2. Tell Gawa Undi Ukwa to resign if he is not prepared for insults. Finally 3. Mushota seems to be more popular than Sakeni whom we are supposed to be responding. Most people are responding to Mushota than the header in the news Sakeni

  45. …”Technological advances must continually be evaluated and their relation to legal rules determined so that antiquated rules are not misapplied in modern settings. . . . Yet, if the substance of a transaction has not changed, new technology does not require a new legal rule merely because of its novelty.”
    – Daniel v. Dow Jones & Co.

  46. ZWD encourages insults and is biased towards UPND and HH!They specialise in lies and falsewood.ZWD blocks any one who makes comments that are objective, especially if the comments are negative about HH or UPND.I feel like the ZWD editor is HH himself or that the edditing is done in HH ‘s house. There is more hatred in ZWD than truth. This publication should be banned because it preaches hate too much!!

    • At the post comments are not posted if they are against sata I see no problem here everything is fair. Go on ZWD proud of you

  47. mushota mwaume so you don’t know guys,Mushota nika kabimba combined na satana equals GBM.Tatwakaleke mayo Zambian watchdog is the real thing now.Am so hapi that all ministers, their deputies,PS’s,Mps ,bana maliketi, bashimafamu, all d 72 tribes in Zambia, amaule ,bakabova bonse addicted to Zambia watchdog.Viva Watchdog.

  48. Kwena Ba Musekeni namupwa ,how do you expect to interact with bloggers constructively when my hubby and you his thugs are busy beating up the opposition .Am just happy that the online papers are beginning to shift the public opinion ,it has never happened in the history of Zambia.Ala babwana does sleep without reading ZWD,ala things are tough mwandini.

  49. Insults Mr Sakeni are a result of how you are managing the affairs of the nation. As long as you are managing our national issues as if you own us, our brains, our resources, everything, people will continue insulting Sata and Mmembe especially because they are the ones ruling and telling all of you what to say and do. we are the masters and if you abuse us, we abuse you verbally because the the only way we can express ourselves so that you hear us. Our relatives are dying in hospitals without medicine, our children can’t afford to go to school, or have no books and attend school under trees and yet you are blowing tax payers’ money on few selfish individuals- Sata, Mmembe, Masumba, Namulambe, and now Monde. That money can go a long way to save people’s lives.

  50. I am so surprised that almost half of the comments r responses from Musahota. Can someone open Mushota website so that those who worship this devil can comment on her everytime?????

Ba sunken boat, can u see that the bloggers are not interested in your views?

    • I don’t think Mushota deserves to be called a devil. She is just one creative person who has built her notoriety through sarcasm. The history of Zambia is replete with such characters. I remember Randomalia and Kapelwa Musonda. The mystery about them made attracted people to the articles. Mushota is working towards a star on the walk of fame in Zambian cybersphere. You and I have nothing to sell. We are too normal!

  51. is this not the Party which promised free education upto grade nine? please correct me if am wrong thought its a question am asking coz am just from depositing some school fees for my dependats in the village.

  52. Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?’ (Matthew 7:3 NIV).

  53. So Mr. Sakeni is this an admission that you have failed to close the online newspapers as you once promised. Talk of if you can’t beat them.

  54. How ignorant and stupidity to insult your own president you have voted. Even if there is democracy and free of talking in the press, watch your tong when it comes to a talk about a person you have put yourself to be the heard of the state. What do you think the developed countries and its people thinking about you when you use insults when talking about your on president SATA.
OBS: for your own mind am not a politician or do i belong to any party in Zambia. But i feel really sometimes it is embarrassing to read what some people are commenting. Instead of coming with sensible things to complain about what the ruling party should put in place as they were promising when before they came to power. One has to ready just nonces and insults. GROW UP ZAMBIANS YOU ARE EMBARRASSING YOUR SELVES.

    • In my most craziest mood, I would agree with you. I am not very crazy today but I agreed with you until you started talking about “the perception of the international community.” I hate the notion of doing things to please that community. I did not like FTJ very well but I was in solidarity with him on this issue.

  55. You have hit the nail on the head Honourable Minister. We definitely need internet freedom but with responsibility so that this freedom should not be abused to insult others. You cannot insult the President of a country who was voted for by the majority in the country just because you hate him or her and pretend to be more intelligent than the majority. That is Hypocrecy because democracy means numbers and when you lose you just keep quiet until the next elections or you petition the results if they are not fair.
It is happening this way not that all the Zambians have low thinking capacity, but because the successful Governments have promoted the culture of hurt by allowing anonymous freedom of expression. Honourable Minister, you hold the key to sanity yourself and the Government in…

  56. Honourable Minister, you hold the key to sanity yourself and the Government in power to protect the citizens including all leaders of opposition, government and the Republican President from abuse by few misguided bloggers. You are referee with a white, yellow and red card. Please, protect all the players on the pitch and yourself by flashing those cards when necessary. Do not be thirsty when you are swimming in the ocean because whole the waters of this world are at disposal. Spare a rod and spoil the children. You are protecting criminals at the expense of the good citizens and residents alike.

    • Why do you have to call him REPUBLICAN President. Isn’t president enough? Who started this kind of nonsense. REPUBLICAN President. If you want to differentiate him from other presidents, Call him President of Zambia (POZ). His wife, First Lady of Zambia (FLOZ). If you wanna be creative add this to them – POZed and FLOZed.

  57. My humble advice to you, Honourable Minister, for the sake of promoting harmony and democracy in the country, is to bring synonymous freedom of expression to an end and instil responsibility but not violation of human rights as the so called opposition will interpret it, by instituting the following measures.
    1. Mandate ZICTA to complete SIM card registration exercise immediately for all existing cell phone subscribers except for new ones.
    2. Instead of equipping the Public media first, equip ordinary Zambians with subsidised internet services and landline phones so that they can also blog and air their views other than only few advantaged insulting bloggers, then equip the Public Media. This will provide level playing for all Zambians.

  58. 3. Mandate ZICTA to compel all blogs to register and hold the following minimum data about their bloggers so that any person who is injured or insulted can access the wrong doers and seek legal relief against them wherever they may be:-
    1) Personal Details:
    Title:
    Surname:
    Forename(s):
    Date of birth:
National Identity Card / Passport No.:
    Daytime telephone (Work): Ext:
    Residential (Home) Telephone:
    Mobile:
    2) Residential Details:
    Home address 1:
    Home address 2:
    Postcode:
    Suburb / Village / Township:
    Chief / District / City:
    State / Province:
    Country:
Please, note that I am not a politician or member of any party but an ordinary citizen concerned with supporting any government in power and national development especially for the ordinary citizen and residents alike.

  59. people speak out via net coz you dinosaurs don’t listen to them and you are brutal..for as long as the pfolice force works like pf..we shall not enjoy being under this dictatorship..!enjoy reading ZWD honorable suck em..

    • For those residing outside Zambia where post codes apply because they are majority contributers to the bloggs.

  60. Hey guys, let us spare Mushota & direct our energies to Sakeni & PF. Are they not the ones who insulted Mwanawasa and RB day in and day out? It is their turn to receive the same dose of medicine.
