Lameck Mangani to stand on PF ticket for Chipata central by election

THE RULING Patriotic Front(PF) has adopted former Chipata Central Member of Parliament(MP) Lameck Mangani as the candidate for the forthcoming July 25th 2013 Chipata Central parliamentary by-election.

This was arrived at the party Central Committee meeting held in Lusaka yesterday.

Party Chairperson for Legal and Disciplinary Edgar Lungu confirmed yesterday that adoption of Mr Mangani as PF candidate for the parliamentary by-election.

The Central Committee has also chosen Chama South MP and Foreign Affairs Minister Effron Lungu as Mr Mangani’s campaign manager in the forthcoming polls.

“Let me confirm that after a meeting this morning (yesterday). The Central Committee has decided to adopt Mr Mangani as the candidate and Ba Effron Lungu as the campaign manager for the parliamentary by-election,”Mr Lungu who is also Home Affairs Minister said.

He said the party was happy with Mr Mangani adoption saying the former parliamentarian was set to carry the day on July 25th.

Effort to get a comment from Mr Mangani failed as his mobile phone was busy by press time.

MMD has adopted Reuben Mtolo Phiri while National Restoration Party(NAREP) has picked Kazembe Daka.
UPND, UNIP and Alliance for Democracy and Development (ADD) were yet to pick their candidates for the forthcoming polls.

And for the other by elections The following are the adopted candidates for the PF in the forthcoming bye election:

Kafulafuta: James Chishiba

Mkushi North: Ingrid Mpande

Solwezi East: Peter Ilunga

Wynter Kabimba said “these are popular candidates that the grass roots in the respective constituencies gave us and we have endorsed them. We have no doubt that they will carry the day on 25 July and make PF proud.”

  2. Am happy for Mr Mangani, the man is really humble. Despite the frustration he went through at the hands of Kabimba, he took it cool, that is maturity- congrats.

  6. I really hope Mangani carries the day, he is a humble guy but he nearly dented his image while at home affairs under bwezani! It is high time PF got more sane people not ba NGWANGWAZI throughout the govt!
