TODAY’S SCRIPTURE

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.”
(2 Timothy 1:7, NLT)

TODAY’S WORD from Joel and Victoria

God’s desire is that we continually progress, that we reach higher heights and go to new levels in Him. Oftentimes, as soon as we make the decision to step out in faith and obey God, the enemy brings in fear to try to stop us. He’ll bring thoughts like, “What if you fail? What are other people going to think? You don’t have what it takes.” He’ll do his best to use fear to try to convince us to shrink back and stay where we are.

The Bible says that fear is a spirit. It plays on our emotions and holds us back. But the good news is that we have power over the spirit of fear! The Bible says that perfect love casts out all fear. When we receive God’s perfect love, we will have confidence about the future because we know His plans are for our good. I’ve heard it said that fear is an acronym for False Evidence Appearing Real. Understand that fear is a lie. Don’t buy the lie. Instead, choose to believe God’s Word and receive His love so that you can overcome fear and move forward into the blessings He has prepared for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

Father, thank You for giving me power, love and a sound mind. I open my heart to You and receive Your perfect love. Fill me with Your confidence and assurance to embrace everything You have for me in Jesus’ name. Amen.

    • Ba LT, can you please extend your Comments Policy regarding abusive language to include abusive Pseudo names. Take for example this blogger “Bunyo bwamwaice etc..”. Very sick name indeed. Surely Pseudo names like this should NOT be allowed at all as it is very offensive particularly to parents, it is child abuse from a blogger who is clearly a pedophile and thinks he is cool. Please do something before LT loses good patronage and credibility.

  3. 6000 years ago man created god/gods,angels & demons in order to explain the unknown phenomena both good and bad that is why all world cultures invented religion.that is why it is disappearing in developed world

    • Mr. Scientist! You are wrong. Do not generalize things. This may be partly true in Europe but not all of the West. The assumption of the atheist was that when a society develops and is enlightened that society abandons matters of faith. This assumption, however has been thumped by the ever-increasing faith in the Americas, especially the United States Of America. Research has shown that the US has been a puzzle to most skeptics in that despite the affluence and education, religion still abounds. This also applies in the South America and South Korea (emerging economical powers). Besides, Christianity is a personal faith which does not depend on whether my neighbor is also a believer. We ‘ve had many of your like who realized the reality of God on their death beds. But this is too late.

  4. Thank you for the encouraging words, we pray that the lord blesses all Zambians to excel in all what they do. Let no evil hold them back. In Jesus Name. AMEN!!!!!!

  5. Nothing against Joel and his wife but are there no preachers in ZED whose sermons or words of encouragement you can share? seriously.

    • @really: I share your sentiments but, in this case, it would be great for you to find out the history behind this posting. Whose vision is it? What are they or is s/he trying to achieve by this weekly posting? Only with that full understanding of the whole picture can we meaningfully advise LT. If this is Joe and Vickie’s vision or maybe someone at LT’s to share their message with the world in this manner; the best advise we can give them is to keep up the good work.
By the way, don’t exclude yourself, my friend. It maybe that YOU need to start sharing messages like this with fellow Zambians. Go ahead, find the platform and do it yourself. Don’t wait for no minister that ain’t having no vision to do nothing. You are the man/lady with the vision. Go share it with the whole…

  6. May God bless the powerful message.Do not fear! Greater is the one in us than the one in the world. “Fear not for I m with you” saith the lord. Jeremiah 29:11
