Chipolopolo face Brazil in a gigantic friendly

Share

Chipolopolo begins life after the departure of French coach Herve Renard on Tuesday night when they face five-time world champions Brazil in a friendly at The National Stadium in the Chinese capital Beijing commonly known as The Bird Nest Stadium.

This match will kickoff at 20:00 hours local time, which is 14:30 Zambian time.

Zambia take on Brazil under interim coach Patrice Beaumelle just a week after Renard quit Zambia to join struggling French Ligue 1 side Sochaux.

Beaumelle starts his Chipolopolo coaching job in a hard way as Brazil gives his Zambian squad an inevitable hard test in China.

This is also the first match the 2012 African champions will be playing after failing to reach the final stage of the 2014 Word Cup qualifiers after losing 2-1 in their final group stage match against Ghana in Kumasi in September.

Zambia are playing against a Brazilian side that is coming from a 2-0 win over South Korea in last Saturday’s friendly away in Seoul.

Prior to the Zambia friendly, Luiz Felipe Scolari’s team had beaten Portugal and Australia in other friendlies last month.

Players available for Zambia include skipper Christopher Katongo, Jacob Mulenga, Emmanuel Mayuka, Kennedy Mweene, Joseph Musonda, Chisamba Lungu, Fwayo Tembo, James Chamanga, Hichani Himoonde, Joshua Titima, Bronson Chama, Jimmy Chisenga, Kabaso Chongo, Kondwani Mtonga, Kampamba Chintu, Bruce Msasakanya, Noah Chivuta and Emmanuel Mbola.

Meanwhile, Brazil have Neymar, Oscar, Paulinho, Dani Alves, Dante, Marcelo, Ramires and David Luiz among others.

  1. Football is played for 90 minutes by an equal number of players.Brazilian players have 2 legs each and so do Zambian players..Watch Zambia perform tomorrow.

    Good luck Zambia!

    • In 1970 world cup one Italian defender said that before the game against Brazil he thought I have nothing to fear about Pele. He has blood and I have blood. He is human and human. But after the game “I realized I was wrong”.

    • @6.1 That was a world cup match big difference…moreover Zambia have nothing to play for given that they won’t have any competitive games for 9 months no wonder your PE tutor ran away!

  2. Football at its best, is this brazilian coach the same gay who was coaching South Africa when we beat them 0-3 and Katongo scoring a hat-trick? If he is the one I believe he is looking for revenge. All the same football is just a game. Zambia you have been known to play good games when playing big teams. Just bear this in yo mind, they will be 11 and you will be 11. They are males and so you are

    • Louis Felipe Scolari is the main coach, the guy you talking about, Carlos Alberto Perreira, is part o the coaching staff. Perreira was the coach of Bafana when Chipolopolo anihilated Bafana, 3-1, in Cape Town. So the guy (gay according to you) knows the Chipolopolo Boys quite well.

  3. In 1970 and Italian defender said “before the world cup final game against Brazil I thought to myself Pele has blood and I have blood. He is human and I am human. So I have nothing to fear about him. But I was wrong”.

  4. Zambia LAMENTABLY FAILED to qualify to the World Cup because they were not good enough and had a PE tutor for a coach….question we should be honestly asking ourselves is that what measures have we put in place to improve our game since our last match – Nothing!! So how then do you expect to beat Brazil when you have the same flawed set up run by the selfsame corrupt incompetent empty suits at Football House.

  5. Despite Brazile having beaten Portugal and these other National teams,Zambians are not itemidated by their wins. I can promise it will be a difficulty game for they are meeting for the first time in the record of football.

  6. Wapya munzi……cant wait to see the formation of our team.
the basic notion here is to expose the boys and learn a few things about high profile football.ability to read your opponents strategy is vital.A good litmus test for Zambian football and Patrice.Don’t be intimidated lads-GO ZAMBIA GO!!!!!

  7. Mweene this is your chance shine and show the world that your are one of the best goalkeepers in the world. Just save two crucial shorts from Neymar and you will yourself in Europe immediately. Good luck!

  8. Even if Brazil featured their female team,Zambia don’t stand a chance…we should treat this as a subtle way of showing to the whole world just how to skin amateurs on the pitch…..I’m just telling the truth…Zambia is facing the soccer Gods!

  9. you call him a P E teacher? come on Zambians, you can do better than that. did he not win the afcon for you? a trophy you never ever came close to winning with your so called coaches? the PE teacher comes and everyone in the streets of Lusaka is chanting Chipolopolo slogans. Oh! the PE teacher is the current african coach of the year. kekekekekekekekekekeke. Bravo Herve (the fox) Renard.

  10. Yo! You must be Kalusha’s brother- though even he (the brother) is more realistic in Kamuchanga! Im not a betting man but Brazil 5:0 Zambia is less damaging!

  11. The only way Zambia can come out on top is if the change the game play to something Brazil is not familia with, the text book soccer formations won’t work.A skilled martial artist can beat 5 guys very easly not because he has four legs but because his higly skilled at combat. You can’t defend against Brazil but you can score.. At the end of the day its david and Goliath both with the same weapon, redeem us Ba chipolopolo
