Three boys have been apprehended by police in Mkushi District for allegedly beating to death a seven-year-old girl.

The boys, all in grade one are alleged to have beaten the girl on October 17, and she died in hospital at the weekend.
The incident happened after the three boys one aged seven and two aged eight demanded for money from the girl.

Central Province police chief Standwell Lungu confirmed the incident in an interview yesterday.

“I can confirm that we have picked up three juvenile offenders who are alleged to have beaten to death a seven-year-old girl after demanding for money,” he said.

He said the boys were also being held in police custody for safety reasons.
One of the juvenile offenders is reported to have said that they beat the girl when she gave a negative response.

    • Thse boys are demon posessed.
I dont know wat the Zambian law says about juveniles guity of this offense.
Just like that…”give us money!” Why, I dont have. and the boys go on beating to kill!?
We need real Men of God to go and pray for Mkushi District…it’s too much.
Bushe cacine ni mu Zambia umuleumfwika ifi fimalyashi?????

    • The worse story of the year. Something is really wrong in Zambia, since PF came into power there are countless of strange acts, now its even going to babies?

    • Now if these childrens’ parents do not fully exhibit parental care and nurturing, I am afraid to say this, they may take the road that goes to roaming streets. Please lets nurture our children and nephews.

  1. Ooh No, this is sad. These are Issues teachers should emphasize in Schools. Mockery and such demands should be made aware as crime. These Kids think it’s fun. MHSRIP.

  2. the boys were also being held in police custody for safety reasons, yes we need to counsel both parents of the victim and the attackers. May the good lord protect the families from the devil which has entered their houses

  3. The boys wanted to have more money in their pockets. Killing to get more money in the pockets is now also being used by children!

  4. But I would like to ask,how old are these boys..definately above twelve,to be able to land a killer punch? But they are in grade one……… !!!!!

    • It doesnt matter what age they are, God knows what kind of weapons they used, it also depends where they hit her and in what state of health condition she was in, all in all, this wasnt supposed to happen and should not happen to anyone, i have always been bullied especially by girls, i know how it feels and the results of it all, it takes heart to come out strong.

    • The article says one boy was seven and the other two were eight years old, Didn’t you read it? In the past kids used to know about ‘piece work’ such as slashing grass, weeding, cleaning yards, washing cars and so on. It starts at home and in the community, Many people in Zambia think when you have no money all you have to do is ask for it instead of work for it. How are kids supposed to learn? We have to teach the kids and everybody the value of work and money. It’s good to see kids here in America working for their money. My neighbor always approaches me in the fall and winter to let her boys rake my leaves or shovel the snow, Bigger boys try to get the lawn mowing. And don’t mistake them for poor people.Africans can learn from this.

  5. My word…… so much violent at such a tender age? I can only imagine what kind of home environment they are coming from so shocking, it’s about time schools introduced stringent measure in punishing bullies, if they cant be tamed at home, atleast the school should try. My heart felt condolences to the parents of the poor girl, MHSRIP.

    • Parents do not want their children to be disciplined at school meanwhile they can’t discipline them at home. I feel for the teachers and blame parents and society for such tragedies.

  6. Very sad.

However, did the boys beat the girl to death, or did the girl die from the injuries she sustained from the assault?

Did the boys commit murder or will they be charged with manslaughter?

The reporter needs to be a bit clearer. Of course there is no debate that the girl sadly died at the weekend.

  7. Then the devil saw that humans were becoming too Christian,as usual went to the woman & introduced to her human rights,so while the man is traditionally busy with work as the bible says, the wife is also busy at her new work place and the children alone at home exposed to uncontrolled viewing of western movies, this is the result…it’s so unfortunate..

    • @Chinyama
I think if the mother and father both had jobs with sufficient resources, the boys would have had pocket money of their own. They probably would have had a maid minding them, making the likelihood of their killing another child much less.

I just can’t with this devil nonsense.

  8. Witchcraft is allowed in such instances.. Those 3 little maggots must rot in Hell. Otherwise the Mailoni sh*t is on them.

  9. This is really disturbing news. Unless these boys have been in grade 1 for 10 years in a row, I suspect they are barely older than 8 years. They have graduated from wearing diapers to wearing handcuffs!

  10. .comSad indeed, very sad. May the soul of the young girl rest in eternal peace in the presence of the God.
As for the grade 1 offenders, I want to believe they cannot even comprehend fully the magnitude of their wrong. Parents, teachers, caregivers and society as a whole need to continue instructing Kids on the importance of desisting from wrong doing and all negative vices that can lead to such bad incidences.

  11. I guess things havent changed from my days as a grade one in 1985, we had real violent psychotic 11 year old “grade ones” that were dangers to other children, unsupervised by chronically absent teachers they spead a reign of terror in the classroom. And that was in lusaka. Its a savage nation… teachers beat pupils to death, rape pupils, pupils drink alcohol etc God have mercy.

  12. MAILONI BROTHERS IN THE MAKING. LUANO VALLEY IS IN MUKUSHI DISTRICT. THOSE BASTSRDS ARE LIKELY TO FLEE TO THE VALLEY CAUSE MORE CHAOS THAN THEIR LATE FATHERS THE MAILONIS. REINCARNATION OF THE MAILONIS. KILL THEM BEFORE THEY GROW.

  13. The boys as young as they are, doing that shows what they are being brought up by their parents. Because when your being brought up by infighting parents and the house where everyday abusive language and the sorrounding of insults and bulling those are the results. Kids nowdays you see them in shan’t compounds asking for money from passersby and this is not a good gesture in society. Parents have to train their children not leave to teachers at school to their children.
