Police in full riot gear today prevented Patriotic Front cadres in Lusaka from staging a protest against party Secretary General Wynter Kabimba who is facing renewed calls to resign from his position.

Police combed the area around the Freedom statue were the cadres had planned to converge for their anti Kabimba protest.

A check by a QFM news crew at the Freedom Statue found Police had combed the area with no sight of the PF cadres.

The cadres are demanding that President Michael Sata removes Mr. Kabimba as party secretary general.

Yesterday seven Lusaka district PF constituency chairpersons demanded the removal of Mr Kabimba and Lusaka province chairman Geoffrey Chumbwe.

The renewed calls for Mr Kabimba to be removed from his powerful party position come in the wake of what appeared to be reconciliation taking root in the ruling party.

    • I think now am fed up of these PF fucckers. Sata has just proved he is weak guy who can’t instill discipline. It’s either GBM is using a lot of cash to bring these confusion so those stupid reconciliation was just a butter coating. I thank God HH sensed the tribalism in PF otherwise he could have been tormented.

    • Jo, even if it is denial it better be done in a more intelligent way. PF is not a party built on good principles, hence the problems it is under going. If you look at their shifty policies critically you will understand, that is if you have critical thinking capacity. Lies is another thing which does not unit any grouping be in friendships or political parties.

    • These are absolute opposition cadres especially UPND staging these protests. They have taken advantage. They are disappointed that Wynter never resigned PF to join them. They were actually ready to wecome Wynter Kabimba into their party. But received a rude shock that the man was not resigning.

  8. Someone just announced they will be standing in 2021, what did they really mean. PF should be careful there’s probably just one person fuelling all this unrest. Let chikwelete disclose those that were funding him, that’s where the answer to this problem is. Caders are just being used. There is no way chikwelete was just funded alone probably many others were funded, just investigate.

Sata with all the storm in his party has never issued orders to stop the Kerfuffle spewing to the nation. He is a man of lawlessness and thrives in confusion as his wisdom. He is pretending to like Kabimba when he knows very well his fellow Bembas wont like it, hence protests about Kabimba going on in the nation. Sata can/will never bring down this uprising and will affect his chances in all elections that will follow.

    I have a feeling that Kabimba will stay while these protests die a natural death.

    It reminds me of a multibillion railway project in South Germany where I’m based. It went ahead despite massive protests against it. A referendum was conducted and the outcome was that the majority province dwellers approved of the project.

    • ‘Lozi people’ do not all come from the Congo. The various tribes that are collectively called ‘Lozi’ have various origins. The Subia, Makwengo and Mbukushu are the first people in Zambia. The later two are ‘bushmen tribes’. The Luyana are said to come from the Congo. But their own oral traditions dispute that. They believe they are the first people descended from their God Nyambe and their land as their gift from Nyambe. You can google Lozi mythology if you want to learn more.

      Shonas and Tongas have their roots in Southern Sudan! Both are not the ‘first’ peoples in their area! All Bantu speaking people trekked down from equatorial Africa into Southern Africa.

  34. Wynter Kabimba is just being HOT-HEADED and a daredevil who believes he is still a CEO of the PF party. He cannot forcibly administer the unwilling followers in the PF.

    We are only witnessing a mere tip of the iceberg featuring in Lusaka. The dislike for Kabimba is massive among the PF members in Copperbelt, Luapula, Muchinga, and Northern Provinces. Yet PF support has nationally dwindled to less than 43% registered in the 2011 General Election.

    Kabimba and Mmembe must be intellectually too dull if they think that Kabimba can be President of Zambia when he has no constituency within the PF grass-roots. Kabimba and Guy Scott are mere cosmetic Secretary General and Vice Presidents who will soon evaporate with a singe rain drop.

    Sata’s insults on Bemba Chiefs is a disastrous factor.
