Chief Government Spokesperson, Mwansa Kapeya, has refuted online publications that President Michael Sata collapsed on Wednesday afternoon and has not been well since.
Mr. Kapeya told QFM News that people should not take serious online publications because there is no credibility in their reporting.
Mr. Kapeya said President Sata is well and there is no need to take seriously reports that are indicating that the Head of State on Thursday and Friday he cancelled presidential appointments due to his sickness.
He added that it’s high time the people of Zambia stopped taking stories published online as gospel truth because such publications are bringing confusion in the country.
Some online publications have reported that Government is making frantic efforts to evacuate President Michael Sata who is said to be seriously ill.

The Zambianwatchdog further said President Sata’s Heart was showing signs of failure and State House Permanent Secretary Kaizer Zulu was summoned to State House and was seen hurriedly driving in around 19:15 hours.Kaizer Zulu who was driving a Green Range Rover Registration number ABK 4178 could not even wait for security clearance.
To support the claims the online publication said First Lady Christine Kaseba who was supposed to be honoured by an organisation called Civil Society for Scaling Up of Nutrition at Mulungushi International Conference Center did not show up at the function but sent apologies. Vice President Guy Scott was also reported to not have arrived at the award Gala where he was also supposed to be honoured together with the First Lady for contributions both have made to the promotion of good nutrition in the country.
