Zesco United coach Tenant Chembo believes his team’s low performance at the ended four-team pre-season tournament in Ndola is a wake up call to the Ndola ahead of their participation in the 2014 CAF Confederation Cup.
Chembo’s Zesco finished rock bottom of the mini-league competition after lossing all their three matches.
Zesco lost to eventual winners Power Dynamos (2-0), South African giants (3-1) and DR Congo club Don Bosco (1-0).
Chembo said the tournament where Zesco scored one goal as a learning curve for his side.
“It is a blessing in disguise because it gives us time to look at the team and see how we can approach the CAF games,” he said.
“We will work on our mistakes and we will be on course as the CAF games approaches,” Chembo added.
Zesco have been put on bye in the preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup.
zesco is a good side. it is only that it was the smallest club in the ndola tournament
TENANT CHILUMBA is just day dreaming, ZESCO is finished and will never be in CFC CUP.
