Shipolopolo regroups for World Cup

The Albert Kachinga led Zambia Under-17 Womens Team bench has announced a 35-member provisional squad that regroups in Lusaka on Sunday to prepare for the World Cup.

Team Manager Clementina Mazaba said the squad will camp at the FAZ Technical Centre as the Shipolopolo kickoff the first phase of preparations for the March World Cup in Costa Rica.

Some notables in the squad are Natasha Witika, Chimwemwe Mwale, Mary Wilombe, Square Maiwase, Penelope Mulubwa, Ireen Lungu and Helen Chanda.

The World Cup takes place from 15th March-14th April.

“We will regroup for local camp on 26th January and we have invited 35 players. We already have a team but there are a faew players we have invited for the first time so that we can asses them during the local camp,” Mazaba said.

Meanwhile, Zambia have been placed in Group A together with Costa Rica, Italy and Venezuela.

Kachinga’s team will kick off the World Cup with a match against Italy on 15th March.

  1. What is this thing called She polopolo. A bullet is a bullet, there is nothing like a Male or Female bullet. If we dont have a name for our womens team lets find one for them FAZ
