Seven KCM miners injured

Seven miners have been injured regrets to announce an incident at the Konkola Deep Mining Project (KDMP) in Chililabombwe District, today.

According to a statement signed by the company’s spokesperson Shapi Schacinda, the accident took place about 07:15 hours , today.

A cage tripped and during this incident seven people have been injured in the cage. One of them is in a critical condition in the ICU at the Konkola Mine Hospital in Chililabombwe, read the statement in part.

Mr. Shacinda said a medical team is conducting further examinations on the other miners , who were rushed to hospital by a rescue team.

Production has been temporarily suspended and investigations commenced to determine the cause of the incident, he said.

  1. That cage is not upto the standard the LTA guys should work on it before innocent souls are lost that’s just a warning to the management and the workers.
