PF wants MMD to survive

The ruling PF has urged the opposition MMD to quickly resolve its internal divisions because its death is a direct threat to the basis of the country’s multiparty system of governance.

PF Media and Communications Director Chanda Mfula has charged that like UNIP, the MMD is indispensible from the political history, independence and development of the country.

Mr. Mfula said in a statement that being the largest opposition party with experience in government, the MMD is an integral part of the democratic system on which the country’s governance is based.

He said the PF therefore believes that MMD leaders have a greater responsibility to save the party from extinction in the interest of the democratic fundamentals of the country.

Meanwhile, Mr. Mfula has also urged MMD President Nevers Mumba to re-examine his stance of externalizing the problems of his party and address the real internal issues that threaten its existence.

He reminded Dr. Mumba that the PF is led by honorable men and women who recognize that the survival of the MMD is in the interest of the nation’s democracy and cannot put partisan interests ahead of such an issue.

Mr. Mfula said the PF desires to compete with a stronger and well led, managed and organized MMD on the political platform, bearing in mind that a very competitive political landscape is capable of producing the best quality leadership for the country’s continued development.

  1. Dont trust these PF morons. Were they not busy trying to deregister our party not long ago?

    • De-registration for entirely legitimate reasons you buffoon.
MMD thought they were above the law and did not pay the required annual fees for many many years. They should have paid dearly for their arrogance, but for timely intervention, so please spare us your stup!dity.

  2. The only reason the PF is concerned , actually worried with the death of MMD is that it will strengthen the UPND further. Most MMD members will gravitate towards the UPND. That is what scares the PF. Not that they are interested in fostering democracy.

    • @ Rotten teeth I don’t so. Actually if MMD members migrated to UPND, UPND will loose popularity because MMD lost the election because of corruption, hence UPND will be associated with corruption. Actually UPND will loose lamentably for embracing corrupt recycled savage politicians like William Banda and for not being all embracing to other tribes. And yet UPND complains that the PF has recycled politicians when UPND had recycled politicians like Shakafuswa, Mutale Nalumango, Maxwell Mwale etc

    • Chipimo, Chipimo in 2021. UPND will always be a tribal party since that was the declaration after the death of the great man Mazoka.

    • Wynther, the SG for PF told us that PF is a tribal party! Which region is William Banda from? Can you produce a list of all top government functionaries and see for yourself how PF is a tribal party…guys get your facts correct. I am from Mporokoso and and for me UPND is my party of choice

  3. Yeah right! Just like MMD wanted PF to survive when it’s cadres were busy hacking each other with Machetes.

  4. Mmmmm…..Whats the name of that guy again? Chanda Mfula?? Thats Noward Chanda.
