Fred Mwila: Zambia will go to Morocco

Veteran coach and Zambia legend Fred Mwila Sr is positive Chipolopolo would do well in the remaining four Group F matches of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Third placed Zambia have one point from the opening two matches of the qualifying campaign after a scoreless draw with Mozambique before losing 2-1 in Cape Verde last month.

Zambia this Saturday face Niger away in Niamey before hosting the West Africans in Ndola on 15 October.

Mwile believes Honour Janza’s side can make it for the Morocco AFCON.

“I am confident Zambia can qualify. Zambia cannot afford to lose the remaining four matches,” Mwila said.

“The coming games will be tough so we need to be more serious,” the 1974 Africa Cup star said.

Meanwhile, Cape Verde top Group F with six points, second placed Mozambique have two points and bottom side Niger have a point.

  1. Akanani kantu kalipa bwali naimwe bashi Mwila.We are 5 points from the top.In any case we needn’t compete with all the teams in the group.Frankly Zambia is jst & I mean 2 gud 4 these team s 2 compete with us if preps were given 1st priority.

      He is alive but abit old, like 76 yrs old.

  4. Will Zambia qualify to Morocco 2015 – Its a lets wait and see situation as the late veteran soccer commentator Dennis Liwewe would put it, may his soul rest in peace. We have put ourselves in a difficult position and in my view topping the group is not possible but probally second position, but again if only the coach can change his approcah.
    Otherwise I see the mambas frustrating us in Maputo, we have already tested the waters and in my view Cape verde is good, and followed by the Mambas who may go second if we dont change our tactics – Hon Janza may need to work over time and probally use an extra hand of an experienced coach on his side.
    Otherwise let us wait and see…….! and as always may the two (2) better prepared teams from our group qualify. Hard lucky to the lossers ….
